I did not enjoy my experience at this restaurant. I have eaten at Palace Station, and the difference in both the food and the service is significant. During my visit, I felt discriminated against by the way I was treated. I ordered oysters, and while other tables were provided with the proper utensils and accompaniments, I was only given a fork and the sauce. I was also not offered the complimentary bread that was being offered to other customers. The server's attitude made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Despite the poor service, I still left an 18% tip, even though I normally leave 20% to 22% for good service. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I will not be returning. Very disappointing... 1) The menu states fresh brewed ice tea. Nothing could be further from the truth. Good chance the tea comes from the Pepsi machine, but no one is allowed to see. 2) The Caesar salad is on the menu but not being served currently. The chef said the cost of the Caesar salad has gone up, so the restaurant won't serve it. I guess the option of serving it and adding a small surcharge is not an option. I've only had the original pan roast from Palace Station secondhand, so I can't attest to how spectacular it actually it is IRL. However, the version here is quite good and I'd rather not wait an hour at 3:00AM so there's that. I dined around 2:00PM on a Sunday. No wait, though it was Easter. Other people in our group didn't seem to have a problem with the wait during our 4 day stay either. They run daily specials here which is kinda nice. On Sundays, you get 2 crab cakes for $9. These were great - meaty with lots of crab. To start, we also shared the Caesar salad ($14.99). I like a good Caesar and the version here is a good one. It's a nice way to ease into your meal. Obviously, the real star is the pan roast. We ordered the Combination ($34.99). The creamy tomato stew has shrimp, crab & lobster served at your spice level. It's served with steamed rice and rolls if you ask for them. The broth was so sweet and savory - perfect over a bed a rice. I was there on a Monday so I went for the half price house oysters and got a bowl of clam chowder. My personal favorite are the Kumamoto oysters but they didn't have them here. The house oysters were quite large in size but they didn't taste like what I expected of raw oysters. They didn't taste like anything, just texture. The mouth feel and texture was fine. I've been to the other Oyster Bar locations located at Station Casinos. This location is ok. Service was good but, the person cooking in the front needs to be more pleasant or at least smile at the patrons. She had a sour face. We ordered the Red Rock Pan Roast with extra rice. So for their Thursday special, I opted to try their Lobster Roll special. I have tried the traditional oyster bar at Palace Station and thought there would be hours upon hours wait, but we walked right in and got seated at 5:30 pm. No line and it wasn't really busy. We ordered the two different lobster rolls since you cannot mix and match. The warm maine lobster was on a toasted roll and had such great flavor. The lobster was nice and had like bite. The chunks of lobster are evident. The cold mixed lobster was quite the opposite. It was hard to find the lobster bits as it had more of a salad/mayo mix. It was okay, but opted to not finish it. We still ordered the Cesar Salad which is always done well And... Pan Roast, due to the non busy nature, everything came out so fast that I didn't have time to finish a single plate before the next one was up. Not a terrible thing to have though. Overall it was good, but I feel like the portion sizes are a bit smaller for almost the same price. An amazing staff person was hilarious and gave great customer service. He was a former performer on the strip, which I think helped with how attentive he was. He also was informative about the dishes, and he answered all of our questions. I usually get the pan roast with shrimp and crab, but having these lobster rolls on this bread was definitely the better choice and I will always get. The bread was soft, buttery and flavorful just by itself. The lobster was perfectly seasoned and the sauce coupled with it was seasoned well and added great taste. I had to keep reminding myself that I was in public and not to lick my fingers. The 2nd dish I can't quite remember the name of- it was crab in the shell with some sort of mayo sauce. It was good, but kind of saucey which I'm not into but if you are, go for it because the dish was still delicious. As far as the ambience... The Red Rock is just naturally classy and the Oyster Bar is along the lines of the same decor. I've been coming here for many years, and this used to be my go-to spot, especially last year and years before. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been disappointing. Lately, the steamed clams have been extremely small. The larger clams are only available for half-shell orders, which feels misleading when you look at the display and expect big, juicy clams with a steam order. I also ordered a pan roast combo, and it was mostly soup. There were maybe four shrimp, and I didn't see any other seafood in the combination at all. You can't cut cost? You're in Summerlin I'm sharing this in hopes that someone reads it and makes adjustments, because this place used to be consistently great and I really want it to return to that standard. $10 lobster rolls is what brought us here. You get two small lobster rolls but they are very filling with great toasted bread. You a taste lots of butter which is never a bad thing. Having enjoyed the Oyster Bar at Sunset Station, we were happy to see one opened at the Red Rock. While many of the items at the Red Rock are the same as those at Sunset Station, the food was not quite as good. The Caesar Salad was the star with a bit of horseradish in the dressing. So good. The Pan Roast was ok, I definitely had better at Sunset. I was told by the waiter that the Red Rock location is owned by someone different, so perhaps this is why the flavor was not as good. This is a good place to visit if you were craving seafood during your stay at Red Rock. I have seen times where this place can get busy, but I rarely see it too full. I've had this place before for their pan roast, which at the time was somewhat decent. But my current review is more leaning towards the specials as it was pretty surprising to me. We came here on a Tuesday and ate the oysters which were $1 a piece. They were really good and tasted fresh. Also looking at the other specials would be the main reason why I'd be coming here throughout the weekend. The real surprise was when I asked them about their specials. Which ended up being two lobster rolls for $18. The lobster rolls were really good and really fresh. I'm not sure if the secret menu changes every day but I was pretty surprised by this. I bring my dad here every time he comes to town and usually a good experience. However, today we came for the oyster special and were greeted with the " the shipment didn't come in for half off oysters" and only had $50 a dozen oysters available instead of $15. I understand shipments can change yet there is no memo on their website or menu that states price is dependent on shipment. We would have been better off going somewhere else. This is inside Red Rock casino. We ordered oysters, clam chowder and shrimp cocktails. The oysters were a little larger than we expected, but still good. They were served with minionett sauce and cocktail sauce with horseradish. The clam chowder was excellent; lots of clams all the way through, and served in a huge bowl. Just the right amount of little potatoes, too. The biggest surprise was the shrimp cocktail. Five huge jumbo shrimp were served with cocktail sauce and horseradish. They were so big, they reminded me of small lobster tails. The bread rolls they served were quite a bit hard, almost like they were a day old. But, oddly enough, they stood up to the clam chowder quite well. The server refilled my wife's soda a few times, which was nice. They are conveniently located right off of the casino floor. Turns out, they're generously packed with sweet and succulent meat, nestled inside buttery and golden-toasted bread. You get two smaller rolls per person. Choose between Maine or Connecticut style. I'm team Connecticut all the way, warm and bathed in butter. Also tried their shrimp cocktail, fresh, firm, and chilled over ice. Perfect for Summer! And their Rockefeller oysters are fried and served over a warm and rich spinach cheese sauce that reminded me of a spinach dip. Very decadent and tasty. Apparently run by neighboring Naxos, which explains the quality, definitely above most other oyster bars in town (excluding the legendary Palace Station location). There are only 16 seats and to our surprise we were seated right away just after 6pm on a Thursday, but a line formed quickly afterwards. Luckily no wait, but also went on a Tuesday at 12pm. First time trying Oyster Bar and it did not disappoint! They had $1 oysters so we got 6 of them. They were on the smaller side but still delicious & refreshing! I split an order of the combination pan roast & it was the perfect serving size per person. First time trying this place. I've always wanted to try the Palace Starion, but that line is nuts. Wednesday at 6:15, we walked right up to the bar. Tonight's special was a 4 pack of colossal shrimp cocktail. We added some oysters, lobster rolls and bouillabaisse to top off the meal. Oysters: wow. Tasty, fresh, nicely presented. Lobster roll: two rolls actually, so sharing was easy. A little less lobster than expected, but the flavors were there. Shrimp cocktail (tonight's special): I love cold shrimp. These were sweet, huge and tasty. The cocktail sauce was more like horseradish with a dab of cocktail sauce, so be warned. Finally: the bouillabaisse. Lots of crab, savory garlic, clams, and mussels. Sooo flavorful, so warm and comforting. It comes with rice, which compliments it well. There are free bread rolls, but they were pretty meh. Lukewarm, hard outer crust and dry interior. We stayed at the Red Rock so we decided to use our resort credit at the Oyster Bar. I'm pretty picky about our Pan Roast so it had high expectations for this place. We ordered 2 "The Combo" Pan Roast, Red Rock Pan Roast, and House Gumbo. All the items tasted descent. Overall, I wished they had put in more seafood in the Pan Roasts and Gumbo. I also wished the cook was a bit friendly but I did appreciate our server Duante being happy and upbeat. I walked up at 11 am right when they were opening and I was first to sit. The server and bartender were super friendly. The prices are high but it's the Red Rock and I expected that. I'd knock it down a little for price but everything else was great. No beers on tap. I asked the bartender what mixed drinks he liked to make and he said he was an "old fashioned guy". Pretty good Old Fashioned for regular ice. The gumbo had a very brown gravy type base. Different than the oyster bar at the Durango. A couple things could elevate this to a 5 star. Now I know why this Oyster Bar is not busy like the one at Durango and Palace Station. Unfriendly staff, unwelcoming and not a team player. I went the $1 oyster day and it was busy at all. I tried to place my order with the cook and her response was unfriendly and said I'm just the cook. Ugh whats the difference when you're the one who has the shuck the oyster anyways. She sure wasn't a team player. She could have said, I'll let your server know. The server himself was walk around in circle as if he was lost and didn't know what to do. The first time I was there, I met another server and cook. They were from the Island, Hawaiian. This was back in June. They were very welcoming, friendly and engaged with the guest. That's what I expect when going to any restaurant. Also, the bowl portion at this location is very small compared to other oyster bars. Why would I pay the same price for a smaller Bowl.
