Very disappointed! haven't been to this place for awhile and was very disappointed with my last visit. Many items of the menu on the buffet were gone along with the snow crab legs, but it's understandable considering the post Covid situation. The fresshnes of the oysters was questionable-I took 3, I tasted 1 and got rid of the rest. The dishes on the hot buffet were pretty good. I didn't like the sushi that used to be great. All of them had almost the same taste, or better described same lack of any taste. The worst part of our visit was the interaction with the waiter. He was a tall young man who never introduced himself, barely spoke to us, brought us a wrong drink and when approached never brought the item we actually ordered. The most shocking was the end of our visit. Generally I prefer to leave tip in cash instead on my card. He brought the check almost at the end of our dinner. Since we were still eating, I gave him my credit card, and signed the bill rounding the number. The waiter looked at the bill and came back pointing to me the recomended percentage for tip! First time and last time. Walking in a homeless right at the door entrance stretched out with her shoes off. I do feel for people down on their luck, but this is not the place. Every item I got on the so called hot bar was not even warm, I could not eat my meal. The only hot item was the soup. The roast beef was sitting there like it had been there for hours. How does the health dept. allow this? They do pass out a glove, but at a buffet right now maybe masks should be worn, even with a sneeze and cough guard people need a mask. Bathroom very dirty. I just had a terrible lunch experience here. I'm an African American male, that comes here very frequently. I was constantly watched and asked if I wanted the bill before I even finished my plate. I like this place but i have some annoying issues with them... 1. Many of the foods are bland. 2. The beef soups in the hibachi area are absolutely tasteless. I am a big fan of Vietnamese Pho soup, and i really like the soup area at Chow Time, but its tasteless, even after i continually ask for more beef flavor to be added. 3. A few not all of the staff dont understand english, but they still say yes and act as though they understand. Please please teach the staff to smile and learn to say "Please let me get you someone to help". It's very frustrating when you're trying to get help or request something from a person staring blankly at you saying yes. We have visited almost every Friday for the last 3 months and im tired of trying to get someone to fix the tasteless food issue, Or get an intelligent answer. I really hate to stop going cause i do like the place. It would be a shame cause ive told all my friends try this chow time restaurant. Very disappointed, the restaurant promised unlimited lobster for Father's Day. Had to beg, borrow and steal for them to bring the lobster out. I would not recommend chow time to anyone. It seems like the quality went down a bit. I used to come here at least 3 times every 10 days and I stopped for about 3 months because of quality issues. I did return this evening and I found the roast beef dry with no taste, and the food cooler than what it usually is... I have eaten here three times but have not done a review. This is a slightly different type of Chinese style buffet offering a make your own soup bar plus typical Mongolian hibachi station. Despite all this, these types of restaurants start out good but soon go downhill. The first two times I went, I was thrilled to see and taste very good food, but this last time, the food was tasteless and devoid of any Asian flavor. Most foods repeat themselves. Like one tray had chicken with vegetables, the next another type of chicken with vegetables with a different sauce. Many foods were deep fried and not Asian at all. Fried whole catfish looked good but didn't even taste like fish. The egg rolls were the worst I ever tasted with a mushy interior. Roast beef self carving.....was so well done, it looked like shoe leather. There is alot of variety but taste is lacking. The raw oysters were nice and plump but tasteless. Sushi bar was typical with two different types of sashimi. This was very good and tasted fresh. Soup and Mongolian hibachi had many ingredients to chose from including bay scallops, shrimps, assorted veggies, baby clams in the shell, etc. Both of these were very good. The premade soups like hot and sour, wonton, egg drop and a hot and spicy seafood in a red tomato like base were simply awful. Wonton meat was horrible. Hot and Sour soup was very spicy, even the addition of soy sauce could not alter the tasteless broth. Chinese dishes were very limited in variety and looked old and lifeless. The desserts were cheap garbage in general....store bought cakes and cream puffs. I stayed away from the ice cream when I saw people wrestling to get it out of the container....it did not look appetizing at that point especially when someone reached in with a coat on......my stomach just turned. Service was mediocre at best. Waitress did not refill water when asked. She had to be reminded. Dirty dishes were often left to pile up before removed. Tea is $1 more on top of their prices Tea was Chinese but was Luke warm at best. I gave two stars as some dishes were good. I looked forward to them opening up in a closer location to where I live. They have another location in Pembroke Pines. As of now, I cannot see myself eating here again. There are far better Chinese buffets our there. Most take the usual route......start our good then nose dive. read more

The guy cooking the food catered to what I asked for and you have the option of 5 different sauces. He was a little heavy on the oil but overall very tasty. Usually these buffets get a 1/2 from me. Since this is dangerously close to where I live I'll be back when it's less busy. Hopefully the next time I go it's closer to a 4 for me and I can update. Oh! And I can't forget the price! Sushi, trad chinese, hibachi, noodle bar, soups, comfort food bar, meat carving station, salads and desserts. Staff attentive to picking up used plates quickly. It's a big restaurant holds lots of customers ...can get "tight" at the bars as they aren't spaced far enough apart. This was our first time at Chow Time. The exterior was clean and in a decent area. Parking was ample. The interior was clean and very nicely decorated. The food was plentiful, presentation was great.
