I walk in, there's always someone to greet you in a friendly manner. The waiters are friendly, attentive and soft spoken. The staff themselves always look neat. Our drinks are always refilled without asking and my tea comes with a few bags brewing in a nice hot tea pot. The tables are cleaned well and the waiters never let our plates pile up. The silverware/cups/plates are clean and well kept from what I've used. I love how organized the buffet area is. Everything is labeled. The presentation of the sushi bar is quite nice. I like that they have a noodle, grill and habachi bar, all behind a clean glass. Food wise, they serve a much better variety of food options than other buffets for sure. They have crab that's fried and im guessing delicious because that's 90% of what my mom eats there and is very pleased. I love the green beans, the pickled salad at the Korean food section, the huge fish that's super picture worthy, I enjoy the pan seared dumplings, the ribs are super meaty and melt in your mouth. The sushi bar is delicious. Mmmm I honestly haven't had anything there that I didn't like. Whenever I feel for comfort yet good food, I think of here. Great service, delicious food, clean restaurant, and the price? Less than 20$ pp!! Sometimes almost 10$ pp around lunch in the beginning of the week. Oh!! And it's seating, omg so we thought it was so funny that every time we come here, we were seated in a different seating room. In a way it felt like a game to us lol Yes i said room. This place is huge. Their seating arrangements are sectioned off by area and not just a flimsy 7ft glass. The rooms are tall and wide, can fit a lot of people comfortably and just gives you a nicer, sort of elegantish touch feeling. Here's what you can expect at the Chow Time--Commercial Blvd Takeout: The price list varies depending on who the cashier is at that time. I went there twice and got the Shrimp wrapped in bacon as takeout. It was Mixed Seafood $6.99 per pound. But on my third visit, the price doubled. The cashier suddenly decided that it was All Seafood--$13.99 per pound. When I explained to him that the price list stated: All Seafood $13.99, Mixed Seafood $6.99, he told me "It's shrimp". When I explained that on two earlier occasions Shrimp wrapped in bacon was priced as Mixed Seafood, he again said "It's shrimp!" When I asked for the Manager, he proudly told me that HE was the Manager. He decided that Shrimp and Bacon were ALL SEAFOOD. He just ignored their own price list and tried to charge me double. We visited over the weekend for the first time after driving by the billboard a thousand times (hey guys your advertising is working!!) The restaurant was super clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. The selection of food is wonderful and diverse. Everything was tasty that I tried, next time I think we will try their noodle bar and hibachi, but for the first visit just wanted buffet stuff. The price is good, and better than average for a Chinese buffet that doesn't focus on seafood and sushi (there are plenty of both though! But I don't eat anything that lives in water). We paid 11.99 for lunch. This place could have been a 5 star spot but sadly, all of the food was cold or room temperature, at best which is a huge deal to me. So the wife and I went for dinner tonight. The buffet was well filled, the fried shrimp was delicious, but then I found Steak, and I picked three cooked medium and was surprise they weren't tuff. The desert wide variety I recommended the cup cakes, banana pudding and coffee ice cream. I think really only draw back was the hot tea, was little weak. But overall for a buffet very well organized when you enter they spray your hands, and hand you glove to use serve yourself at buffet, so you don't get germs from other people handling the spoons to serve yourself. read more

Chow Time was better than I expected, but not as good as I had hoped. Based on some of the reviews, I was scared. Ultimately, for the price of $12.99, I decide it is 4 star worthy. Upon entering we were promptly greeted and I noticed the decor. It is a large restaurant with multiple rooms set off from the main buffet area. The dining rooms are well decorated. This is probably one of the nicest looking buffets I have seen as far as the actual dining area goes. The food area is, as mentioned in other reviews, a bit chaotic. I felt there needed to be directional arrows and instructions. It was kept pretty tidy considering the number of patrons. The sushi was ok for a buffet, and there was a wide variety of hot options. The salad bar was basic and obviously not the reason for visiting. The best section were the Hibachi and Noodle sections. You pic out your items and then take them to their respective cooking stations. The hibachi was great, I chose the shrimp and veggies. They do have a dessert section, but I was full and not fighting the crowd of kids. Overall, it is worth the price to visit. This has got to be one of my new favorite buffets. I went here with my coworkers for lunch (about 20 people). We were seated immediately and were able to head to the buffet. The staff filled our drink orders in a swift manner. Service was quite smooth. The establishment itself is well lit, organized, and spacious. The restaurant is split up into dining rooms named after locations like Tamarac and Miami Dade. This is effective in spreading out dining parties. The actual buffet area is spacious and clean. I was very pleased with the variety at Chow Time. There is an area for sushi, hibachi, dessert, American style (looks like a kid menu, but who can resist eating some French fries), fruit, rice/noodles, and many soups. This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. The buffet was $10 at lunch time and you can't beat this price. It's affordable and pretty good quality. There is something for everyone here. I'm always looking for places to get a binge on sushi without putting a hole in my wallet and Chow Time does a great job. Sushi buffets in the area tend to run $20+ for dinner with hot foods etc and I honestly can't eat that amount of money even with sashimi. At $11.99 for weekday dinner, I can do this occasional splurge. I started with the nigiri. My recommendations are the tuna and salmon. The tilapia, mackerel, and white tuna did not taste fresh. They had avocado eel roll. This is the first time I've seen it done right at a buffet and it is the only roll I recommend unless you want salmon and cream cheese roll which looked pretty decent because all the other rolls were weird. No sashimi but they do have shrimp you can peel, cold mussels, and looked like maybe the occasional oysters. Hot foods were a plenty. I loved how they had a huge assortment of meat. Bourbon chicken, chicken teriyaki, bbq pork, ribs, honey chicken, chicken and veggies, baked salmon, steamed fish (don't recommend), deep fried wings curry and buffalo style, crawfish, deep fried shrimp, and more. A nice fried food area and then your typical fried rice and noodles. However! Their hibachi section was enormous. Shrimp, chicken, beef, frozen seafood, veggies, anything you could really want. This place is a disaster. We came for my Dad's birthday. Unfortunately my dad equates quality of food with quantity so for his special occasions we end up at places like this. They had no idea about our reservation when we showed up, staff was confused, constantly changing their minds having us get up 3 different times to change where our large group was going to sit. You get what you pay for I guess. The pricing for dinner is the cheapest I've seen for the variety of food they offer. The quality of the food is pretty bad though. I got sick the day after eating here. The layout of the buffet items are a bit odd. There are two sections of raw food for the hibachi, but only one is in front of the hibachi grill. The other one is out of the way. I was wondering why the hibachi items were skimpy and lacking basic food items. It wasn't until I walked around more until I saw the second section. It also gets very crowded when going up to get food. You're almost banging elbows because of how all the buffet items are situated. I personally will not revisit. It's always a risk going to these types of buffets. They are a cesspool for diseases. The risks here are intensified because of how close everything is together. Just think of all the germs on every utensil, and the germs in the air surrounding the food. Definitely not worth it. I learned my lesson. read more

I wanted sushi, my parents wanted Chinese, so we compromised on this buffet. I'm generally not a buffet person, because I can't eat that much (and I do love food!) and I hate the cattle-like feeling that a buffet gives off. We arrived around 630 on a Saturday night. The parking lot was packed. Amazingly, there was no wait and we were seated pretty quickly. The buffet is what you'd expect at a Chinese buffet. I also saw pizza and french fries. I am not a sushi connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, however I can tell you that I was not impressed by the sushi here. There was also an area of raw food to bring over to a hibachi area. The dessert area was typical. The bill for 2 seniors, one adult and a soft drink, was a very reasonable $40. Much less expensive than similar buffets in the area. The buffet is very clean and has a good variety of food. It's a good place if you want to explore more exotic foods like me. I tried the baby octopus from the Korean section! It was delish. I also tried the craw fish, which i found, can get a little messy while eating them. For dessert, they have plenty of options from chocolate chip cookies to a full fledged ice cream bar! The hibachi bar is what i would call a breeding ground for cross contamination. While I was grabbing food with my husband i watched as the chicken tongs fell into the raw meat and a customer decided to grab the raw beef tongs to use in the chicken, when my husband went to grab someone to let them know another customer came up grabbed the tongs that had fallen into the raw chicken used it in the raw beef then proceeded to grab other serving tongs with the raw chicken covered hand. read more

The staff was very good about cleaning the tables and filling water glasses. The big negative was the dessert bar which didn't match up to the rest of the meal in taste and variety. Man, I wish I could eat four or five plates in one sitting but unfortunately I did not get that far. I love the food here honestly. It's hard to find a buffet where everything is delicious. I started off with sushi and there were some interesting choices such as banana wrapped inside the sushi or sashimi style. I made my way to eating a plate of yellow rice with sautéed string beans teriyaki chicken, fried chicken, and then this is one of my favorite parts; there is a hibachi bar where are you put everything uncooked on your plate and you bring it to the cooking section and they make it for you on the spot. They also have a soup/pho bar where they make it right in front of you as well. For the desert they had these donuts with cream filled filling, Jell-O, banana pudding, chocolate pudding, ice cream. I believe the price for dinner is around $12 and the price for lunches around eight dollars. The waitress were very attentive and made sure to clear the tables when you were done I want to come back here again I'll make sure I am on an empty stomach to enjoy everything I did not try! read more

Many items of the menu on the buffet were gone along with the snow crab legs, but it's understandable considering the post Covid situation. The fresshnes of the oysters was questionable-I took 3, I tasted 1 and got rid of the rest. The dishes on the hot buffet were pretty good. I didn't like the sushi that used to be great. All of them had almost the same taste, or better described same lack of any taste. The worst part of our visit was the interaction with the waiter. He was a tall young man who never introduced himself, barely spoke to us, brought us a wrong drink and when approached never brought the item we actually ordered. The most shocking was the end of our visit. Generally I prefer to leave tip in cash instead on my card. He brought the check almost at the end of our dinner. Since we were still eating, I gave him my credit card, and signed the bill rounding the number. The waiter looked at the bill and came back pointing to me the recomended percentage for tip! Intending to leave cash I dismissed him, but he came back litteraly yelling at us demanding more tip!!! I do understand the major cultural differences between us, but for God's sake train your employees the basics of the job requirements and communications skills.
