2nd visit in less than a week. That's how much we loved it the first time. Last night we sat outside and Desiree was our server. She was attentive but not intrusive. We started with 6 blue point oysters which were fresh & briny. The accompanying cocktail sauce and horseradish gave a little kick without obliterating the taste of the oysters. We shared the New Hampshire Wedge which is definitely big enough for two. I had the Ipswich clams (again) and a side of corn bread. I was too stuffed for the cornbread so it will be eaten this evening. My husband had scallops with fries & coleslaw. The scallops were beautifully browned and he loved the coleslaw. Don't let the strip mall location fool you. Chowderheads is an awesome experience with exceptional food. It was my third visit and I will just keep on coming back! There is this server with brown hair she's there every time I go in her name is deseree She's the sweetest lady and is usually there when they open! The entire staff is attentive and on point even if it's busy, I came on Valentine's Day to get a to go order and they had it down! I was very impressed! I definitely have to go get more photos of the food but this place will not disappoint you if you like seafood! I've tried three of their chowder soups and so far I've loved every single one! They all have a different twist on them and all taste really good! I like how the soups always have enough veggies and clams in them it's not just broth! Stopped by this place after a very long day of travel. We were seated quickly and allowed to view the menu with ample time. Food was okay. The clam chowder and the gazpacho were the highlights. Sadly the "market pricing" is pretty wild. Stopped in for lunch. Couple tables occupied, 2 tvs on, no one seated at bar. Asked if we could sit at the bar and watch the press conference about the recovery of the pilots in Iran. Went today for a birthday Lobster Roll lunch, the lobster was good but it was served on a THICK slice of bread. I understand "shrinkflation", however you need to check local competition on the same road that serves it on a ROLL, not a slice of bread that it falls through, and is $15 less. Really disappointing Mother's Day experience It started off promising, but once our order was placed, service completely dropped off. We had to ask multiple times for a simple thing, and ended up asking other staff because our waitress was more focused on talking with coworkers and going outside. We also watched our food sit while getting cold. The bigger issue was the food itself. My mom got sick after eating her seafood, and my brother also threw up after his smash burger. We will see if anyone else gets sick. Update: 3 out of 5 ended up sick with food poisoning, experiencing nausea, diarrhea, and fever. My mom's green beans were originally undercooked as well and had to be remade. Highlight was the calm chowder soup. By the end of the it, we just wanted to pay and leave. We didn't ask for anything to be comped and still left a tip despite being unhappy with the experience. What made it worse was being confronted publicly by the waitress about the tip amount in front of other customers while management stood by and allowed it. I understand holidays are busy, but that doesn't excuse poor service, cold food, or customers getting sick. read more

The food is good quality and the atmosphere nice. Some portions like the fish and chips are generous, but my scallop roll was almost obnoxiously small for the price. The Rhode Island clam chowder was good though I'm still loyal to cream based New England style. Service was off, we were first seated last to have our order taken and served which took about at least 40 mins to get food but it was ok since we enjoyed sitting down to talk and not be rushed out. The sauce and sprinkling salt and pepper didn't help. -- Lobster Roll (1.5/5) - Always get the cold option. I'm not sure why I chose the hot, but it was mushy and you have to put the Mayo on afterwards. Lobster had a fishy aftertaste. I'm a bit disappointed with the meal overall. Was heading to a Play at the Jupiter Maltz Theater and stopped in for the first time for dinner. Restaurant is lovely inside and outside seating larger groups inside smaller tables outside. My wife and I had the best Breaded Cod ever for dinner. The breading was light and tender and the Cod just melted away onto the fork fresh and flavorful. The Cole Slaw was amazing as was the cornbread and old bay fries. Our friend had the Ipswich clams and loved them and I had a fresh brewed coffee for dessert. The owner Lyndsay stopped by to check on us and our server Des was also wonderful. Don't pass on the opportunity to visit we're 30 minutes away and certainly plan on coming back often. read more

3.5 stars for chowder heads. We went for lunch and there were quite a few ppl in there- no one waiting. There is an outside seating area and bar are. No booths are available just tables. There was a table ( a 4top) available but they refused to allow us to sit there bc there were just two of us. We were there over an hour and no one ever came or needed the 4 top. There was only one man cooking so the food took a VERY long time to arrive. We both got soup to start which came out right away- we loved both the red and the white. I got the scallop roll with fries and my husband got the shrimp and lobster scampi - the scampi sauce was very very runny but there was a lot of meat so that was good. I would not recommend this place. What could I say. They messed up on everything. They messed up my husband's lunch order, and it was another 15 to 20 minutes until they corrected it. We have not been to this establishment in years, and went back due to good reviews. We were not disappointed, and were impressed by several things. We made a reservation, and our table was ready upon our arrival. The first amazing thing we tried was the clam chowder, it was so full of clams, potatoes, flavor and served at the perfect temperature. The fish and chips special was a bargain that tasted delicious and not too greasy, The lobster chef salad was huge and full of hard boiled eggs, bacon bits, fresh tomatoes, perfectly ripe avocado and lots of fresh lobster. When our server arrived at our table, she introduced herself as Holly, which excited me as she had been mentioned positively in many reviews. She did not disappoint and was even better/friendlier than expected. She knew the menu, prices of all market priced dishes, was professional, friendly, and checked on us several times even though it was a busy Friday night. She even filled my husband's water without being asked several times. Holly should be given a promotion or at least a raise as this was the most pleasant experience we had at a restaurant in several weeks. Came here for dinner and have to say the food was delicious I got the New England clam chowder and traditional cold lobster roll with Cajun fries. The chowder was PACKED with so many clams it was amazing! The lobster roll was always delicious but you can get it three ways - traditional cold mayo based, warm butter or fried. Our waiter was efficient and quick to answer any questions we had. We were a party of 7 (made reservations) and everyone enjoy their food. The prices were reasonable too based on the quality of food we got. Im always willing to spend more for fresh ingredients. I will come back next time I come out to FL! read more

I had the lobster pie which is basically just chunks of lobster in butter and sherry with breadcrumbs toasted on top served in a cast iron dish. It's delish! Nothing else really to it but delish! Cost $45 (listed as market) and came with two sides. Date had the lobster roll priced as market which came to $35. Side salad is MASSIVE and easily fed two of us. Real authentic New England experience! We stopped in for a quick bite to eat and a taste of home and that's exactly what we got! Location/atmosphere: Right off A1A, this small New England restaurant has all the charm that you'd expect from a New England fish joint. There are 5-2 tops, 4-4 tops, 2 high tops, 1-6 top, 6 bar seats and a few outdoor seats that wrap around the restaurant. Lots of windows, which brighten up the room and the memorabilia is all New England! Very laid back and comfortable atmosphere. Food/Drink: The menu is great, packed with all your New England seafood favorites including shrimp, lobster, crab, scallops, white fish and Ipswich clams, something not easily found outside of MA. We had the blackened grouper sandwich and fried Ipswich clam sandwich with sides of fries, fried onions and pickle. The sandwich was really tasty with great bacon, lettuce and tomato on a toasted bun. The Ipswich sandwich was lightly battered and tender...not chewy, a real pleasant surprise! The table next to us had the fish and chips and oyster roll, both were big hits with the customers, just like our table! They have a great selection of beers in bottle and on tap, plus wines to satisfy everyone's taste. Service: Lindsay was our server, she was very friendly, attentive and helped guide us through the menu. All the other staff was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. Dessert: they have key lime pie w/ graham cracker crust (made in-house), blueberry crumble, peanut butter pie and of course, Boston cream pie.
