Great food and service. Stopped in twice during a short trip to the area. Very authentic food

We were in the mood for raw oysters and cold food as it was such a hot day. We came here after going to the Dive bar first and the Dive bar had an hour wait. It's in a strip mall / plaza and was right on US1. We only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered 2 unsweetened iced teas, 6 raw oysters (not sure which type they were, but they did not have much meat in them, , 6 raw clams (cherry something they were called) and a shrimp cocktail which was 4 shrimp. My biggest complaint was the did not separate the oysters or the clams from the shells when they were served to us. So we have a little 2 pronged fork trying to separate the clams and oysters without loosing all the juice. The shrimp had an odd taste. Not a bad taste, just odd. It did not appear to have any seasoning on it, and they were a bit warm. Maybe they cooked them in a seasoned water? All the food came to $50 which is pretty fair for everything we got. The table next to us got a lobster roll which looked delicious and another person got a Cobb salad with lobster or crab meat on top. That also looked fabulous. read more

Lobster roll: Came with plenty of meat. It was falling out. We got the traditional style and I'll say it was good but not the best ive had. Will get your fixing at least Scampi: The sauce was good. Noodle al dente and the shrimp was fresh as can be. Im a fan here, but a lil pricey Chowder: very good but a little soapy for me. I like mine thicker. To each their own here Fries were delicious! My first time there, the clam chowder was outstanding, I think it was the best I ever had! So loaded with clams, I have never seen anything like it! I then had a perfectly cooked 1 1/2 lb lobster, which tasted so fresh, sweet and juicy! The restaurant is small, not a place you go to for ambiance. They do a lot of take out but if you are dining in, I would suggest making a reservation, due to the size of the restaurant! The service was very good as well! Best clam chowda & key lime pie in town!! If you sit at the bar, there's a great book, "The Boston dictionary." It is funny how it explains certain words. (This is a New England restaurant, but still a local fav.) I really wanted a lobster roll but just wasn't super hungry, but I'll be back. Everything was delicious!! Chowder perfect consistency and flavor. Had a Stuffy.. stuffed quahogs that were baked and charred , so delicious just enough spice. Fantastic seafood. First we started with Bluepoint oysters, THEY DO NOT SERVE CRACKERS WITH THEIR OYSTER. I wish I had known before ordering. Exactly what I have been craving!! I heard their ad on the radio heading down I-95 for work and when they said they were from Bahston and it was Real New England Seafood and they had Steamahs!!! Two stars for taste of fish and chips, Ipswich clams, scallops and clam chowder. Everything tasted delicious. Didn't care for the flavor of the coleslaw. Another star for waitress who served us. When we went the place was half empty on a Thursday night and we sat outside. We have been wanting to try the place for awhile but were always hesitant from the reviews on here. Would I go back? Probably not because most things on the menu especially the Ipswich clams appetizer for 41 and small cup of clam chowder broth for 7.60 are over priced. Know what I found? GREAT seafood and GREAT beer! Our group started with lobster bisque (Oh, and spend the Washington for the shot of Sherry) and clam chowder. Bisque was great. Chowder was very good and full of clams, but a little under spicey, for my personal taste. We also had full belly fried clams that were light, fluffy and full of flavor. For entrees we had lobster rolls, both hot and cold. I recommend both of them. Depends if you are a mayo guy or a hot butter guy. Either way, you won't go wrong. Cole slaw was right on point too. Blackened scallop roll, trust me that's all you need to know! Chowder heads is a local spot In Jupiter serving all things seafood. Lobsters, crabcakes, shrimp and oysters can all be found fresh. They are know for their clam chowder (hence the name), I recommend always starting off with a cup or bowl. Although their lobster bisque is equally as good in my opinion. Back to the scallops... the blackened scallop roll is absolutely amazing! It comes with 4 perfectly cooked large scallops, 3 if you get the lunch size portion. It's times like now that I wish Yelp would let you leave half stars as well as full ones because Chowder house definitely earned at least 4.5 stars from me. The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars was the coleslaw. It had a great texture, just not a lot of flavor. The restaurant itself has a casual coffee shop type feel to it, with a 5 person counter seating and a class display case housing the cash register and showcasing what looks to be homage pies and cakes. I stopped in at lunch time and was told about the fish and chips special which I was told was an 8 oz piece of breaded and fried cod with fries and coleslaw ($15) Since Arizona isn't known for the best fish in the world I decided to give it a try. What came out was a huge piece of golden brown fish with just the right amount of batter where it has a nice crunch but didn't overrun the taste of the fish. This was seriously probably the flakiest piece of fish I ever had! Service was friendly and efficient and the rest of the menu looked pretty tasty as well. I saw the food of a couple other diners that were near by, one had a burger that actually looked like the picture on the menu and the other had a lobster roll that I could see was packed with large chunks of meat. He told his dining companion it was probably one of the best he's had since he left Massachusetts. I wish I was in the area longer, I would love to try one myself read more

We ordered the blackened shrimp and Cajun fries as well as the dinner lobster roll hot with butter and sherry. The blackened shrimp was out of this world. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. If I could rate this higher than a 5 star, the shrimp would have a 20. The lobster roll was hands down the best lobster roll I have ever eaten and that includes any place I've been in Boston. Worst seafood dinner we have EVER HAD IN OUR ENTIRE lives! $200! We have lived in the Jupiter area for 30+ Years. $200+ bill. Lobster pie ($58) was bitter, very high alcohol content( tasted like cheap sherry) and basically gross. "Baked Stuffed Shrimp with crabmeat and Lobster sauce" was neither baked nor stuffed. No crabmeat at all. Topped with the same butter, alcohol sauce that was in the Lobster casserole. Shrimp was slimy/raw and had to be returned. Not at all "baked, stuffed". No Crab at all. Nor baked. In fact, was more on the raw side. Disgusting dinner! We were credited for the "baked stuffed shrimp." So, thanks to our server for that. We didn't ask for the credit, just wanted a great meal. The family was craving seafood for Father's Day and decided to give this place a try. I must say, it was a good decision! The staff including the chef were attentive and seafood was fresh, not over cooked at all. My father in law has a shellfish allergy because of the iodine so we told the waitress that the cooks cannot cross contaminate. The chef personally came by our table and wanted to know more about the allergy so he knows how to prepare our food. That was the moment I knew this place really cared about their customers. Now onto the food, the New England chowder and lobster bisque were terrific but the clam chowder definitely won my heart. My bf loved his mama bear combo esp the fried clam strips. He said he would've gone with the grilled shrimp next time since it was a lot of fried food. I ordered fish and chips. My god was the fish flaky! Absolutely delicious! Big portion but the crust wasn't heavy like a beer battered. Very light and fresh. Loved it with the tartar sauce. The only reason why I can't give this place 5 stars is because the limited menu item for land. Surf but no turf. All they had was chicken breast for $23. Yikes. My sister in law doesn't like seafood and the one menu that interested her was the signature burger but it has lobster in it. We asked if they can just make the burger without the lobster and they said no. So she only had fries and baked beans as her dinner. We have been hearing great things about this restaurant. We drove down from Port St Lucie, it is well worth the drive, we did have reservations. We were seated quickly. The wait staff was fun! The New England clam chowder was probably the best I've ever had. That's a lot! The lobster rolls with melted butter were delicious. Nice little slice of New England in Jupiter. Service was very good, food very good. Ambience nice and New Englandy. Fried shrimp roll was extra large and tasty. Clam strips were good as well. I would recommend, however I got the feeling that they appreciate guests making reservations. The place wasn't full on a Wednesday evening, however we were asked if we had a reservation.
