Update September 2019: Christina continues to be just amazing. Really, she truly is. She works so hard and her mom is sooo nice and they both do amazing. I have brought multiple people here and they love it. I am soooo happy I found this place a long time ago. Even when I have tried other places I have always come back here. Thank you so so so much Christina for fitting me in on a Friday and I still look SNATCHED. Update April 2019: this place is still good as ever. $55 for gel mani pedi. Christina and her mom and everyone work really hard to fit everyone in and are super nice. They have great selection of colors and they do a great job. I am frequenting this place again and I come here all the way from San Mateo. Shouts out to Sophia for taking SUCH good care of me every time!!!! This place is a picky nail girl's dream. I was at 85 degrees bakery across the street once and saw a woman with BEAUTIFUL copper glitter toes. I told her I liked them and she put me on to this place! $30 for reg mani and pedi (10 mani, 20 pedi) and $25 for gel mani. WHAT A STEAL. To those saying "$20 would be better" um hello sweetie that's already REALLY low for gel and they do a great job. Don't you want them to make some profit at least? All in all I love this place, I've come here about 5 times now and the manis and pedis both hold up very well. I am a loyal customer and since moving jobs to Palo Alto I *still* come here. read more

Pros: -Transparent pricing! I love a salon that tells you up front what their services will cost. How many times have you been surprised with multiple extra charges at checkout? Or a ridiculous price for a simple design?Nope, not here. Christina informed me that my overlay fill with gel polish was $27, a shape change was $5, and the cute design I picked out was 2 nails for $6. -Skilled nail techs. Despite all my anxieties about getting scraped by the buffer, Christina moved like a pro and had me in and out in an hour unscathed. When she saw the tiniest bubble or flaw, she'd go back and perfect it. She even made recommendations based on the shape and health of my nails. -Easy to call and secure an appointment. -Easy parking in a big lot. Cons: -Not your fancy schmancy salon with free drinks or luxe set up, but I didn't mind. -Smaller crew so calling ahead for an appointment seems best. Overall beyond happy with the quality and service! If you're looking for a reliable solid nail salon, I highly recommend Christina Nails. read more

Lemme tell y'all...this is the first time I felt my money was going to the right place. Impeccable work, detail, and attention. Careful shaving and thinning to my preference. Fast work. I've never had someone pay so much attention to the shape of my nails. Each finger was compared closely and adjusted accordingly to the same finger on the other hand. I have let mediocre manicures slide many times and ended up leaving the salon unsatisfied with what I paid for. Not today! Christina works fast and was very patient with my picky and indecisive butt allowing me to try different shades of similar colors. Thanks Christina! Christina's Nails is HANDS down the best place to get your nails done. I do not live near Newark at all. I work in Union City/Fremont area and I was looking up a 5 star nail salon with a lot of reviews and came across this place. 5 stars and so many wonderful reviews from people. I was unhappy with the nails I had because the previous nail shop I went to seemed like they rushed it... Christina did such a WONDERFUL job that I will go out of my way to get my nails done at her shop. This is my second time because I had to get a fill. I have never had so many compliments on my nails. Thank you so much Christina. So worth going back to get them filled again. I normally don't get my nails filled again because I normally only do them for special occations. You can really tell that they take their time. She also has a huge collection of colors. Best blue and yellow/gold glitter polish I have seen. I love all the colors that they have. I already know my next color set. Like I have stated, I will drive the 15 minutes out of my way to get my nails done here. It is well worth it. Wow! What an amazing experience. I highly recommend visiting this location. I had an appointment with Tammy. She took me on time and she did a perfect pedicure and manicure! The best I have ever had in my lifetime. She has wonderful attention to detail and really makes sure you feel comfortable, relaxed and takes wonderful care of you. I came here for an overlay and I am really happy. My appointment started on time, my tech was fast and neat with her work. She asked me if I liked the shape of my nails and if there were any issues before she applied the gel polish. I felt like a customer and was not rushed. I am so happy with my nails. I was stuck in between two colors and instead of having to pick one my tech gave me both glitter colors and I am so happy. I got a gel manicure done. Christina explained me the exact price that would be charged for the service. Basic gel manicure was $30 and the ombré design was $5 more so a total of $35. She was quick and I was done in approximately 30 minutes with an appointment taken in advance. Gave her a 4 star as I hoped the massage would have been better. It literally lasted for 30 seconds. Other than that, good experience! read more

I was taken care of by technician #3 as a walk in customer. She was very friendly, clean, accurate, and delivered my request when there were little supply left. She shaped my nails perfectly and made sure I was happy before proceeding with any alternative decision. I recommend and will go again. read more

I've been looking for a place that makes my nails look really nice and doesn't make the gel look thick and heavy. The price is reasonable and I fell in love with my nails! I have my next appointment this week to fix my chipped nails (it's been a SOLID three weeks ish- last appointment was July 28) and I'm so happy that my nails have made it this far! This was my 2nd time coming to Christina's Nails and I couldn't not be any happier leaving the salon! They are not over priced like most salons and their service is great. I got dip manicure and a gel pedicure. I've had 2 different technicians and they are both great. My pedicure today was amazing. Very detailed and an amaaazing massage. I was a fan of this place until I tried to book an appointment with someone other than my normal nail tech, that at the time was on vacation. I was told by the owner, Christina that because I complain, she only wanted me to deal with my normal person. Complain?? Complaining, is so not me. If I pay $90 for a fill and pedicure and within a day the shellac polish starts to chip and peel...I'm returning for it to be fixed. That's called making and keeping your loyal customer happy and taking responsibility for your old polish you have on the shelf. Needless to say my money spends anywhere, so I'm taking my business elsewhere read more

My friend and I came here for our grad nails because it was close by. I would make sure to call ahead and make an appointment because they were so busy that I imagine a walk-in would be difficult for them to take. Christina did a full set of almond-shaped acrylic nails for me. She was precise and gentle, gave me different options, and made sure I left with what I wanted. She does work really quickly (I was in and out under an hour). I ended up paying $47 total ($40 for the nails + tip). The only complaint that I have is that I wish she painted all the way up to the cuticles on some of the nails because they looked a little grown out. I don't get acrylics often but would definitely come back again when I do! read more

So I've lived in Newark for almost 5 years and why I've never been to this place is beyond me...I could not for the life of me find a nail shop that I loved until today a friend of mines recommended this place because her daughter comes here so I told myself I'll give it a try and to my amazement I loved it.. I made an appointment for 10am and was seated in my spa chair as soon as I got there. I got the full works pedi, hell full set, brows and lip and the most pleasing part to me is everything was done by 1 tech her name was Tracy she's only been at this shop for a few months but I was very satisfied with her work and the time she took and the massage was great! This place is very clean and sanitary, I will defiantly be back! read more

I have been coming to this nail salon for years and have had, I believe, everyone do services for me. I appreciate the professionalism and experience these ladies have, I usually leave satisfied. It's affordable and for this price range, the best service you can get. I've been to more prestigious nail salons and have received worse service. I have gotten my fair share of gel manicures and acrylic nails here, some pedicures on occasion too. Always went here for special occasions such as prom (three times), my birthday, graduation, weddings and other celebrations. Right now I am super into these long coffin shaped nails. I don't even live in the bay area anymore because I moved away for college, and I've struggled to be content with services at other similarly priced nail salons near my new home. I've just developed a loyalty to this salon because it's the only one I've been able to trust. So I travel back to my parents home here more often to get my nails filled here. I usually get sparkly colors, the mood colors are nice and fun and I also love their chromatic ones. It's nice when they add new colors. I always get compliments from customers at my work, classmates, and friends. People constantly ask where I go to get my nails done! Keep up the good work ladies! read more

I definitely went back for my fill and was NEVER disappointed with my nails. Christina's Nails is hands down the best hidden gem in Newark to get your nails done. Christina is so accommodating and she's always polite and talkative. She made sure that my nails were always perfect and that I liked everything about it or she would fix it right then. She keeps all kinds of colors and dips but I fell in love with these pink sparkles and made them my go to. I can't even express enough how much I hope she reopens when the state allows. Christina is very nice and put up with my indecisiveness as I couldn't decide between gel or acrylic nails for my wedding. I ended up going with acrylic after asking her a bunch of questions, and I'm glad I did since longer nails look better for such a special occasion. Christina took the time to bling out my nails, even taking off the jewels a couple times until she was happy with the design. My only complaint is I wish the crystals are higher quality, but the nails lasted almost a month so she did a good job. read more

I was looking for a new nail place since I recently moved here and I am so glad that I found Sophea here through Yelp! I truly don't think I've received a better mani-pedi experience than with Sophea. As soon as I met her, I could tell that she was as sweet as other Yelpers said and more importantly to me, I could tell that she was so detailed with her work and wouldn't cut me when trimming my cuticles (I was right!!). Sophea even took her time when scrubbing my feet (top AND bottom) with the basic pedicure and used a brush to clean my toes, which I've never had done before. I asked for a more round but slightly square shape for my hands and she delivered amazingly! So so happy with her work on both my hands and feet, thank you for making my day! Recommend this place & Sophea if you ever want a 5-star pampering treatment!! read more

I wanted to try acrylics for the first time, so I chose this salon after looking at tons of reviews. It's definitely unassuming from the outside, but once inside I saw a clean, bright salon with lots of smiling customers. I was immediately greeted and since I had an appointment, they told me to pick out the color I wanted and would be helped in a few minutes. The woman working on my nails was great (I wish I got her name). She really took her time at making sure the shape was exactly like the photo I showed her. She was also very careful after accidentally cutting me while trimming my cuticles. The entire process took an hour and I loved the results! It was $35 for the acrylics. It's day 5 and no signs of chipping at all. The only complaint that I have is I wish she painted all the way up to the cuticles but she must not have, because they already look a little more grown out than they should. --Update: they lasted about 3 weeks before growing out and no chipping the entire time! read more

Hi Inolas, unfortunately yes. By the county orders, all nails/hair salons need to close until January 4th, 2021 or even longer if necessary. Sorry for the inconvenience.

How much is a gel pedicure?

25 for the basic 40 for the special pedicure *wax, scrub etc*

How much for gel manicure on real (not acrylic) nails?

Gel Manicure on my real nails was $30, but I had Christina put design on my ring fingers. I think $25 for gel and $5 for design.

After i expressed concern that $50 is a lot especially for no acrylic nails and just painting my nails .... she started talking in Vietnamese to her coworker ( most likely talking crap lol ). We did the same thing last year here as well and unfortunately I was disappointed with my service both times. I got one of the older women both times (I didn't ask her name as I was unhappy and just wanted to get out of there). The paint job is nice, nothing wrong with that. But this is a huge treat and part of the service they offer is a 4 minute massage. Both times this woman just rubbed my legs the entire time (after she wasted almost a minute drying my gel). I work on my feet and looked forward to get my feet rubbed even if it was just a couple minutes but unfortunately after paying $106 for both pedicures I didn't even get to enjoy the full service. It felt extremely rushed even with absolutely no one else in there and having to say something about not getting the full service. Everyone else was very nice and the atmosphere is clean enough. Just maybe don't go for the older woman if you want a decent service besides the color. Will probably be trying out a new salon after two strikes

So, I went to Yelp. Obvs. I go to yelp for everything. And, I found a 5 star nail artisan. There is zero hype where Lavinia is concerned. She's a gem through & through. From the Air Force, to sales, to beginning her nail career at Elizabeth Arden, where she garnered many of her longtime clients...she finally opened her own salon 34 years ago. 34 years ago. When I say her own salon, I mean her own salon. She is owner & employee. This is a nail salon for one. One table, one tech. Many shelves. Countless color options; most are from Chanel. No acrylics OR gel. This is old school, healthy, & classic. When you enter, there's a small "coat room," and then you walk into the "salon." It's a warm & even homey space. Framed artsy black & white photos intermix w photos of her family. It's quiet, comfortable, & comforting. She offered me a cup of coffee, which I really needed. And, it was a good cup of coffee! Then it happened. She proceeded to give me the most detailed mani & pedi that I've ever had. Case in point? It was 2 hours. 2 hours for a "regular" mani & pedi. Even more, she's engaging. Like to hell & back. We covered the homeless, loveable but not-so-likable family members, the best carnitas in the bay, & how "women only need a red lip, short red nail, & a pair of great sunglasses." (Coco Chanel lived it, Paloma Picasso said it, & Jackie O followed it). There were also some local politics, & Jesus was mixed in there, too. We mused. We laughed. But despite the convo, Lavinia never lost focus from the job at hand. She's as thorough & professional AF. Basically, I left feeling like I just had a visit w an old friend. A friend, incidentally, who does manicures for professional photo shoots, too. The next time you're rifling through a magazine/newspaper supplement/catalog, & you see a hand modeling a ring, or a flute of champagne... Those nails could have been done by Lavinia. 6 stars if I could.

I never feel rushed and her studio is quiet with a sense of peace. I get gel polish on my natural nails, and after 6 weeks I was still getting compliments. The studio is conveniently located on Bay Street with ample parking and lots of shopping and places to eat to have a full day of pampering and self care.

I can show her ANY design and she always makes it even better than I had imagined. She's thorough and very knowledgeable about nail care to ensure my real nails still thrive under the acrylics and her pedicures are super relaxing. She's also in a private suite so you don't have to worry about other people being in an appointment with you which was an added bonus for me.

Chipping after a day. Rest of nails are now chipping as well. Horrible communication. I texted Anna…read morethat my nails were chipping after a day of seeing her. No response. I went in on 4/11, texted her on 4/12. It was raining pretty hard so I was stuck at home not doing anything crazy to justify the chipping. It's now the 16th and crickets. I spent $150 ($50 deposit, $100 day of service) for gel nails that haven't even lasted as long as regular polish. Not to mention, when I arrived there were no instructions on how to get into the building. No signage. No way to communicate with her. I almost left until she texted me 7 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. I'm pregnant and I was out waiting in the rain as I had taken a Lyft there. I want my money back! I work hard for what I have and this is definitely not worth $150.
