My mother brought my daughter (11 years old) in today to get her nails done. It was brought to my attention that my mom requested for the nail tech to fix my daughter's nails.. it was looking a little uneven. My daughter told me that she noticed the nail tech shaking her head at my mother's request. My daughter also told me that she accidentally bumped the UV light, causing her nail tech to click her tongue. This made my daughter feel very uncomfortable. Therefore she does not want to return to Le Lan. What was meant to be a fun little treat for my daughter ended with her asking if we can go to my nail salon next time. read more

I always come here to get my fills and pedicures. Honestly anyone is good at pedicures here, they always do a great job. Stephanie does my nails and my fills. She's amazing. She'll leave you with amazing and think acrylic nails. She's quick and very good at what she does. I just started going to Joy for lashes. Let me tell you. Hello everyone! I want to leave a comment. Girls and women, please never go to this salon. It's horrible! Wax is made very hot, you tell them, and they continue in the same spirit. They burned me. There are NO gels at all. Whichever you want is either completely empty or not of that color. The pedicure is terrible. They clean up the blood! Manicure is even worse. You want one color, they bring a completely different one. I went there today for the first time and will NEVER go there again. And yes, flies fly. Came out very upset. Still 5 stars! Jenny unfortunately moved to a closer salon by her house, so she does not work here anymore! I have been seen by *Julie & Dianne* here & they both have done a really excellent job. Again, I only get a gel mani & pedi so nothing special, but I've gotten great service & loved the outcome each visit. This salon has a lot of colors to pick, they're on time w their appointments & very sanitary. All the ladies open their new equipment right when they start w you.. they put a plastic colored barrier around their pedi tubs so each person gets a clean tub forsure & lots of clean white towels. I have never had an issue. This salon is still my go to! read more

I went in for a manicure and pedicure. I waited for like 30 mins because they were busy which was fine. However, when it was finally my time- the lady who did my nails was super pushy and was really rough and aggressive when she was doing and filing my toes. The nail polish was okay. For my manicure, she was rushing a lot and wasn't getting the edges. I had asked her like 4 times to do the side and she kept insisting that she'll do a second coat which would cover it. Then I realized that she didn't reach the cuticle which made my nails look super grown out and nasty. My friend also got a manicure by the same girl right after me and she cut her cuticle! Maybe we came on a bad day but service like this is unacceptable for an exchange of money. Never again. The lady I went to was the older lady of the staff. What a waste of money! read more

I used to go across the street @ best nails, although that place is good it was time for a modern upgrade... When I say modern upgrade, I'm talking interior design & nail techniques Anyways, I have gotten my nails done here before I became a regular and it was ok then. NOW, I got to Diane...who is talented at what she does. This place is pretty clean, updated, and all the ladies here truly have personalities that shine! And all of them either call you HONEY, SWEETHEART, or DARLING. DIANE is amazing, she def. takes her time and is very gentle when she does both my gel manicures & pedicures. I have gotten acrylic here once, and it was good, neat and looked pretty natural. But I now stick with gel manicures. Good pricing: 15$ for gel, 20$ for the gel manicure. And 18-20$ for the pedicure. They have a lot of colors for gel manicures, which is a great thing! They have their regular salon nail polish, and the rest are OPI! A huge collection of OPI colors to choose from! They really need to update their website, they no longer do hair... I have not yet tried waxing or facials here... don't think I will since they are primarily known to do a great job in nails! A 4 star, only because I love getting the hand and feet massages when getting pedicures or manicures. Unfortunately, this place does not do hand massages for gel manicures... My first time checking out a salon that has caught my eye. Well lit, clean and fresh, non-nail salon smelling place (nail regulars know what I mean). I walked in on a Thursday night and it was busy. I was asked to wait 15 min, no problem.. During that time I admired their well organized color selections for gel polish. Super organized even going by light shades to dark, huge selection I was impressed! (see pic) Christine was my nail tech, I got called over after about 10 min. There was a bit of confusion at the beginning of our time of what I wanted - gel mani vs. gel set (of acrylics) but that was sorted out after a min. I like that she delicately took off my old gel while sometimes I have seen my nails get damaged from files during that process. Here is where the stars went down from a 4 or so to a solid 2.5 or 3: She was so aggressive with the cuticle trimming :( leaving a couple of my fingers so tender and raw. The worst part: Two cuticles got nicked and bled! Today is 3 days later and it hurts to type as my nails are still recovering and tender and swollen. Ouch! (see pic) Gel polish application was nice and even, on the thinner side like I prefer. No problems there. It looks nice. I am sure it will look nicer once my fingers heal... read more

Good service and a lot of colors and products to choice from. I particularly like that they use a disposable plastic tub cover on the pedicure tub - That is a must for me! They also have sets of aromatic soak, scrub, lotions that I like - e.g. orange, lemon, lavender, mint, etc. But of course, it is a little more money for that. There are only 5 (or 6?) pedi chairs, so you should really make appointment ahead of time, otherwise you will have to wait for a long time. They are very good in keeping the appointment time. This is my second time at Le Lan Salon. The first time I went with my mom and got a mani/pedi but today, I just got a gel manicure. This isn't my usual go-to nail place but since it's close by to my house, I thought it would be more convenient. I'm not sure how busy this place gets but I came in on a Monday around 1:30pm and was helped out by Julie. She was very attentive and quick and I was in and out in less than 40 min. She did end up cutting me a little bit when she was getting rid of some hang nails but I let it slide because it didn't hurt and I knew it was an accident. Overall, the people here are very friendly and I'm sure I'll be back again the next time I don't feel like driving to Fremont to my usual nail place haha. Thanks again Julie! read more

I think I've had all the ladies here work on my nail beds and they've provided some wonderful stress relief massages on my legs, feet, arms, and hands for the past three years! I foolishly go to other places every once in a while to see if service and quality can outdo the ladies at Le Lan and sure enough I always find my way back to Le Lan Salon. I love their work, the location, and their friendliness! I always get their spa pedicure ($18) but today got their manicure and pedicure ($25) and of course still an awesome job and super relaxing massages! Some other things on their list of services: Nail Care - Acrylic Full 25 Students 20 Gel Full 30 Pink & White/Silk Full 35 Airbrush design 5 Paraffin wax hands 5 Paraffin wax feet 6 Waxing - Eyebrows 10 Underarm 15 Leg half 25 Bikini 20 Brazilian 35 but may vary They also do facials :) 45 minutes for $45. And I'm pretty sure they don't do hair anymore... they have no visible chairs for cuts, coloring, styling, perming, etc. I love this place! I got a pedicure here. I walked in without reading reviews because the place I usually go to was closed. The nail tech dug a metal file so far into my nail bed that it broke the skin and hurt badly. Then something wasn't clean there because I got a terrible infection that started in my my big toe where she dug the file in and started spreading into my foot. I had to take antibiotics in spite of keeping the toe clean and using peroxide where the toe had an open wound. Part of my toe nail had to be removed to clean the infection site properly and the nail, (after 2 months) has finally grown back to where I can file it into a shape again. I've had dozens of pedicures at other places. This has never happened anywhere else. I will never go back here. *By the way, I just read through the reviews and I see other people have gotten infections here too. Something to consider before you go here. This is a cute little salon. I found this place through Yelp and came for a pedi. I showed up on a friday around 6 PM without an appt and had to wait about 30 mins. No problem there as I just stared at traffic and picked my polish color. The nail tech did a good job overall, so no complaints there. Foot massage tickled but felt great, especially after a long day of work! Minus 1star for not having a station to dry the polish. It's been a while since I came here...now I remember why! The salon has gotten a new fresher look with new chairs, but there's something about this place that rubs me the wrong way now. They keep all their OPI nail polishes towards the back of the salon, where all the Manicure stations are at, but all of the OPI polishes look old and moldy. The color I chose didn't turn out vibrant and shiny like OPI nail polishes usually look like. The top coat they use also look looks like water, so your nails really do not turn out nice at all. I could be wrong, but it looks like they add liquids to the nail polishes to dilute them and keep the colors longer. SOME of the staff are friendly, but they overly do their chitter chatter in their native language, which normally doesn't bug me but it bugs me when they're going crazy cutting all your cuticles! This is the SECOND time I got cut and bleed here - last time I ruled it as an accident, but I really don't think they know what they're doing. Prices has also increased to $28 for a mani-pedi which I think is a joke! read more

I love doing my nails, but I rarely get them professionally done because I can either have one pedicure or buy about 5 bottles of quality polish. Once in a while I am in an indulgent mood (okay, more like every 3 days) and I decided to try out Le Lan because it was affordable and had decent reviews. It's a small, neat place and the service is courteous. I came in for the $25 mani/pedi and waited a little bit for a chair to open up. They scrubbed the spa pedicure area down so I knew it was clean and then two nail techs got to work on my hands and feet. MANICURE // She actually did a top-notch job I think. Asked me what shape I wanted and painted the nails perfectly. That's not something I can do at home, no matter how much I practice. The problem here was not the technique, but the polish itself. Le Lan's selection of polishes is just one random (cheap?) brand I've never heard of. No OPI, Essie, China Glaze, Revlon, anything? It started chipping in two days. PEDICURE // My main complaint lies in here. I didn't really feel much pain while she was cleaning up the skin around the toenails, maybe a little sting, but I noticed a scab the day after and the area was red, inflamed, and sore. Big nono. $25 is pretty cheap for a mani/pedi, but bring your own polish and prepare some Neosporin. read more

I've been to this salon several times and I am usually a happy customer until this past weekend. Went in with my 12 year old to get a mani/pedi and I was disappointed at how my nails turned out and needing to tell them TWICE to fix and clean my nails. When it was time to pay I told them that my daughter was 12 since they have different pricing for 12 and under and they didn't care of believe me that she was 12. I should of taken her passport but it's okay I paid the full price and will never go back there again. It's a weird spot for a salon, but I guess it works. They seem to do pretty good business. The pedicures are relaxing (although you get a really boring view of Newark Boulevard... kind of feels like you are in traffic) and they sure do scrub your feet! The French Pedicure that I got came out lovely. Sometimes I go here for my brows. The little room they take you in is a little sketchy but they do a decent job. This is such a cute place with great service. I was greeted upon arrival (both times as I had stopped in a day before to get a service menu/price list) and waited only a couple minutes before being seated in 1 of 4 spa chairs. I was a walk-in for a mani/pedi so I was happy to be seated quickly. They had all 3 chairs going. The salon looked well-kept and did not stink of polish fumes and chemicals. There were nail stations in the back, 3 or 4 rooms for facials, and one salon chair for hair that I saw. I was meeting some friends in an hour so I was a little anxious if I was going to make it on time so when I had one lady start working on my fingers and another working on my toes, I felt like a princess! This cut the normal time to half without compromising the quality which was excellent for me because I wanted to get in and get out. The two nail techs were attentive to details. For my fingers, I had pointed out that two were broken, and she had glued them for me. She had also checked with me for length and look. For my toes, the gal was easy on my big toe that had become an ingrown and was careful as I was grimacing. I had gotten nipped on a previous pedi at Happy Nails in UC back in the fall of last year and thought I would never get a pedi again. It didn't hurt at all while she worked on my big toe, and she did a great job fixing it for me. =) I'm happy with how my nails look and feel! I enjoyed sitting in front of the salon's big windows while receiving nail treatment this sunny Sunday afternoon. The influx of natural light boosted my mood as I gazed outside at the trees. It faces the street so you see cars go by but traffic was not busy that time of day, and they had the radio going. I watched a squirrel cross the street outside and inside, a child was giving me a huge smile, offered me a toe separator and touched it to my big toe. Just sitting there gave me peace of mind. The 4 chairs gives it a personal and intimate feel and not the annoying buzz and busyness of other salons. Before I knew it, I was getting my slippers slipped back on my tootsies. The bill came to $31 not incl. tip and not $25 as posted in their service menu, and the difference is probably because I got a french. The price was still reasonable. They accept Visa and Mastercard which is always a plus making payment convenient. They also offer gift certificates. I would love to bring my sister, mom and friends with me in the future. My experience with Le Lan was such a pleasant one! The place has a low key, relaxed, positive vibe. I'm sorry I had not discovered this place sooner. My mom and I have been going here since they have opened, and I am always satisfied. The place has taken a real turn for the better in the past months. They have renovated the inside (new paint, new set up, etc.) which looks really great compared to the old style. The have now upped their procedures when doing their manis and pedis. Each client has their own "tool bag", a set of new, sterilized tools, packaged in plastic to assure cleanliness. This is sooo much better to the shared tools they used to have. They now use warmed lotion when giving you massages. Everyone is really nice, and Stephanie always does THE BEST WORK. She really knows what she is doing.
