Long overdue review but Sapphire Beauty Lounge has easily become my go-to for gelx since Jan 2024. I come here about once a month and always leave feeling more than satisfied with my nails. I usually go to Kate or Nikki, but I've also had my nails done by Betty and Amy as well. You can tell that everyone here is very thorough and don't rush and my sets last for a long time and personally, I've never experienced any nails breaking or have been dissatisfied with the service or results. I also love that I don't feel pressured for a certain service or style like I have at other salons and they've even recommended certain colors or add-ons to enhance the vision I'm going for - whether it be a slightly different color to prevent fading or a color that might pop better against my skin. I'm not usually a design girly but here I feel like I can trust Kate and Nikki to try something different that maybe I don't have a specific vision for. I'm not one for super long nails either but the short almond suits my nail beds really well and because of how the staff does my nails, I feel like it isn't bothersome until I need to get a new set. The aesthetic of the salon is super clean and bright, making it feel relaxing and luxurious at the same time. I also feel like the price is pretty reasonable compared to what I've heard other salons charging. Since I started going here I have not regretted it and definitely recommend. read more

I called and booked an appointment at the last minute and they were able to take me in. When I arrived they greeted me and were very nice and welcoming. I really felt relaxed. My pedicure was just like any other pedicure, but what I really enjoyed was that they scrubbed my feet very well and the massage was awesome. My tech really pushed on my legs, like a legit massage, not just spreading lotion on my legs. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I desperately needed my toesies done for my friends birthday party tomorrow. Luckily I was able to make an appointment at the last minute last night & was able to book the only appointment available for today at 11:30am. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment. The environment when I walked in was calm & relaxing then I let the lady at the front desk know my name, appointment time & the service I booked. From there I was shown to my seat to receive my pedicure. Tina was super sweet to me, making sure the water temperature was okay for me, noticing that my feet are extra ticklish when scrubbing & exfoliating them, to asking if I liked the shade of pink & the lining of the French tips! My mom & I's appointment was at 11:30am. We got there 5 mins early, they told us to have a seat so we did. They didn't take my mom until 11:45am & they finally took me at 12pm after I told the girl I had an appointment at 11:30am. 30 mins later !!! What is the point in making an appointment when they don't take you at the correct time? All the nail technicians kept looking at me and didn't even say anything, they did even let me know how long till I can get my nails done, I had to speak up and let the girl know I had an appointment at 11:30am. Their customer service is terrible!!!!! They shouldn't even do appointments. Next I sat down & the lady kept saying you should try gel x it's more light weight and not thick like how acrylic is. When that is not what I wanted. I've always done acrylic nails so that's what I would like to do. I kept saying no it's okay i'll do acrylic I had to say that about three times until she said okay. I told her I would try that next time and then she started talking to the other technicians and laughing. I do not like how my nails came out. In the first picture you can see there is some kinda fuzz stuck in there on the side & the acrylic on my skin. You can see the blue polka dots have something on it too. Second picture you can see the middle nail on the side it was not filed correctly. Then the third picture you can see the middle finger with the brown french tip & blue polka dots have stuff on the polka dots. Next picture you can see the index finger with the all brown and white polka dots is not shaped correctly. Last picture you can see it's all lifted and not straight. Also when I had made my appointment with the girl I showed her the picture of what I wanted and she told me $85 but today they charged me $90 so I was confused on that. $90 for this set is ridiculous, I have never spent this much on nails. If they charge that much the appointment shouldn't be 30 mins late, the experience shouldn't be this way, the shape should be perfect too but nothing about this set is good, I don't like it at all. Overall I did not like the experience at all. It felt very rushed. My mom went before me and we got done the same time which I don't know how when mine has designs and my moms was simple no designs at all. Mine felt very rushed. I would ask her to fix something I was not happy with and she looked irritated. I wanted to try out a new place but I won't be going here again. I leave for vacation tmr for 10 days and this is the nails i'm gonna have. I don't recommend anyone going to this place! I will not be recommending this place to anyone! read more

Best salon in the Fremont/Newark area. I've been coming here for 4 years now and an still as happy as I was the first time. Every tech is talented and kind. I can be picky about my nails and they are very accommodating. I also can never decide what I want but they're always so helpful. Lillian is the best with my ingrown toenails. I love coming here to get my manicures and pedicures! It's close by home so it's super convenient. This salon is located in a small plaza with a good amount of parking. They do accept walk ins and the weekends are generally pretty busy. Book ahead on their website- it's super easy to use. Kathy is also super responsive through text. Overall, this place is clean and the nail techs are all great and friendly. The techs all have a special set of skills and from my experience have all been receptive when you ask for ideas/advice on nail designs. I always get a gel manicure and I was recommended to get a dip powder manicure because it lasts longer and nails become stronger. LILIAN did an amazing job with my first dip powder manicure. My nails lasted over 6 weeks without any chip or nail break (December 15-January 23). Although, requesting Lilian again for my second dip powder manicure, I got Betty. I remember she did my gel French tip manicure before and I was left with a terrible result. I decided to brush it off and not complain about it as I am a loyal customer here. I do not recommend getting your nails done by this BETTY. She does nails like an amateur. The polish began chipping off THE NEXT DAY, there is white polish behind my nails (such a messy look), and my nail broke in half while I was shopping! I was not even doing anything that crazy that would cause my nail to break. That was my last straw. I got my nails done on January 23. Chipping of the white French tip occurred immediately after. My nail broke on February 10. 18 days later. But my first dip powder done by Lilian, was able to last 6 weeks without chipping or nail break???? But this amateur job couldn't even last 2 weeks???? Amateur job by BETTY. I paid $65 with a $10 tip! Such a waste of money for a terrible nail job. I do not recommend Betty at all!! Owner states that there is a 5 day grace period, but all the times I've come, this was never stated to me. I've emailed the business on 2/10 and received no response. The owner commented on this review on 2/19, more than a week later. I've emailed them before regarding changes to an appointment and they immediately responded, so I know they check their emails. Update: BETTY's dip powder job was so terrible that I was able to peel off each finger's polish off like if this was a gel manicure. 3 weeks later!!! This isn't supposed to happen with dip powder. It was too thin and messy that it caused breakage and chipping. I went to another nail salon to get a dip powder manicure and they've done such an amazing job. I can tell the difference of quality and time that was taken into ensuring no breakage or chipping will occur. This was how a dip powder should look and feel like. I recommend Tik Tok Nails in Union City, if you're looking for a high quality dip powder manicure. Do not waste your money here. read more

It's quiet and peaceful inside, and Amanda took the effort, time and patience to make sure I loved my nails. Definitely coming back. I decided to try out Sapphire Beauty Lounge since I have not had my nails done since moving to Fremont in 2022. I initially had the appointment as acrylic, but as I sat down, Amanda asked if I wanted Gel-X. I had never heard of it before, and she showed me her nails, saying they're lighter but just as sturdy as acrylic. So I was like why not, let's try it! The whole thing took over an hour, but I absolutely appreciated that it was quiet and she took her time. I've had previous experiences at other places where I felt like in a factory shop with 30 girls all getting our nails done, it was loud, and the manicurists were rushing and cutting me. It was complete opposite here on a Wednesday afternoon. I showed Amanda a picture of the design I was hoping to get. We couldn't find an exact color but found one better. She even worked with me to make some changes and in the end adding the snowflakes. Total came out to $80 before tip. I loved my experience here! After a few bad salons, I finally found my go to spot! I booked a reservation for Friday after work for gel manicure with Betty. Unlike other salons that just give you whoever is available even though you book with a specific person, I did end up getting Betty and she was the nicest nail tech I've had. She actually engaged in a nice dialogue with me and got to know me a bit. I wanted a natural ombre look on my gel nails and she was able to make it work! I was surprised, previous nail techs I've had said they couldn't do an ombre with gel or give me something completely different. She took great care of my cuticles and ensured I was okay during my time there. I didn't feel rushed or anything, and I got the nails that I wanted. It came out really close to the picture I showed! It's been 1.5 weeks since I got my nails done and so far no chipping nor lifting. I'll definitely be back here soon! The other workers seemed friendly and it was a relaxing experience. I didn't feel uncomfortable at any point unlike my previous experience. Thanks Betty for doing a great job on my nails! Whenever I visit Korea, I go to that nail salon which always exceeds my expectation. well, it's been hard finding a nail salon like that here in the Bay Area. I visited so many, willing to travel 40-50mins as long as I can get a quality nail art in a clean environment. I know I have a high standard, but man, if the nail art is good, pricing is ridiculous or the place is too tiny or dirty. If the place is clean, no one is able to do the nail art I request. With a desperate hope to find the right one, I found some nail art posts from Sapphire Beauty. Sent in the design I wanted via IG DM, and was able to book an appointment without an issue. Place was super clean, and everyone at the salon was super friendly and professional. I came back to get simple ombre French with gel. I usually stick either with Kate, Vi, Lilian or even Nikki. I ended up with this older lady and she seem like she didn't really want to do any nails services but I went ahead and gave her a chance why not? So I show the lady a picture of a French ombre and how I want the color to be. She went ahead and got the lightest baby pink and it's nothing like I see in the picture. I wanted a a little more of a natural darker peach nude color or just a darker nude shade. This lady kept on saying "it's a popular nude color for French" I don't care how popular the color is that color was not nude it was a LIGHT BABY PINK. It would look good if I have a lighter skin tone but my skin tone is a bit darker and it would not look good. I know my colors. So I didn't wanna argue and I gave the color benefit of a doubt and I even apologized to the tech and then the more coat she put on the more lighter it looked. I kept asking my nail tech what other nude colors they have she showing me bunch of lighter nudes. so I had to stop the service and I went somewhere else. The lady wasn't too accommodating. This nail salon is such a GEM! I wanted to take my sister to a nicer nail salon for her birthday and I'm so happy I found this. This place is soo cute - it feels glam, elegant, and clean with the all white, gold, and royal blue theme. I absolutely love the white chandeliers and tall white chairs. Although these chairs don't have the massage feature, I could go without it since the esthetics were so cute. I booked everything online and it was a seamless process. You're able to choose the date, time, service, and technician you prefer. You'll get an email confirmation after the booking. Their Yelp number is also a number you can text if you have any questions or changes. The service was amazing (I've never felt this way about a nail salon). From start to finish - all the ladies were so nice. This is not your typical nail salon where they gossip in Vietnamese or have side conversations. They're actually focused on YOU and what you want to achieve. My nail technician, Betty, was very attentive and patient. I told her what colors I was looking for and she helped me pick out EXACTLY that. I couldn't decide between a few colors and she kindly offered to try it all before committing (with NO attitude or annoyance). I was so shocked. I felt very taken care of and I appreciated that. She did both my mani & pedi and I loved the colors and shape for both. I booked the following: 1. Express mani ($23) 2. Signature pedicure ($53/each) This was amazing! This included a nice scented foot scrub and paraffin wax. There's different scents such as mango, cucumber, green tea, and a few others to choose from. We both chose mango and it smelled so good. This included a ten minute foot massage (it actually felt less than ten minutes, but it was still good). My legs/feet felt great afterwards. I would highly recommend this for a birthday or special occasion if you're treating your mom, sister, or bestie. 3. Signature pedicure with gel + polish removal ($68) This is the same service as above, but with the gel removal. 4. Gel polish change + polish removal + fix 2 broken nails ($35) Betty shaped my nails perfectly and helped me fix two broken nails instead of cutting it shorter. Payment and tipping was super convenient. They accept cc and they have the nail technician's Venmo QR codes at the front desk so you don't need to carry any cash! I personally hate carrying cash so I loved that everything was cashless. Overall, this place is the best. It took me some time to pick 3 blue shades to try on, unlike some places where the nail technician keeps rushing you to get the job done asap so they can fit in another customer. Amanda took the time to recommend other shades of blue which she thinks match my skin tone better! And the way she massaged my feet and legs were so good, it was a good 5 mins and certainly not a sloppy one! My friend and I made appointments online and wanted to try a new nail salon. When we came in, we just waited a bit and then they had two tables for us. I wasn't sure what to get since I normally just get dip powder nails and was looking to try something new. I'm not very familiar with types of nails other than dip, acrylic, and gel. My nail tech recommended gel x and I decided to try it. I LOVED it. They really take their time to work on the nails and were very attentive to detail. As I stated before, I am not very familiar with nails and not sure what looks best so I went with what they suggested. It took more than an hour but was worth it (and relaxing). The gel x didn't feel like it would pop off and it felt very smooth and nice. The staff here is so friendly and really makes sure that you are pampered. There are also tons of different options here like chrome (which my friend got), gel, acrylic, etc. I definitely would come back again if I were in the area. I booked an appointment several days ago online and received a confirmation. I showed up two minutes early and was told to have a seat. I waited 20-minutes while everyone around me was being serviced but nobody ever helped me. The staff clearly looked overbooked and was not interested in taking a client who had booked an appointment. As a salon they ask for a 24 hour cancellation notice. But what about my time? Is my time not equally as important? I spent 20 mins of travel time to your salon to then wait 20 additional minutes only to walk away with my nails not done? You should really revisit your appointment model and take walk ins only so that at least people will have an understanding that they need to wait. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service and experience that I received. read more

I appreciate the lengths they are going to ensure the safety of their clients in light of the pandemic. You are texted prior to your appointment and asked to remain in your car until they give you the clear to come in. Nikki is the absolute BEST. She's extremely friendly and provides awesome customer service. She explained to me how to combat my ingrown nails from home, while also taking care of them during my appointment. I booked an appointment for a full set and a pedicure at 2, they were empty and I was the only customer for a while, but they took great care of me till 4:20 pm. The room looks very royalty, something for mom and kids to enjoy together The staff was super kind and suggested what was necessary instead of pressuring u for sales. I was in the area and decided to get a mani/ pedi while I could- in case they had to shut down again. I yelped and was able to snag an appt for a basic mani & pedi within an hour or so. I liked that I was immediately sent a texted reminder as well. Upon entering, temps were being taken, everyone was adhering to social distancing, wearing masks, & covid precautions were taken very seriously. Even between clients they were constantly cleaning everything from the floor to the dividers. I didn't see anyone not doing something productive. All the staff were friendly as well and seemed happy to be back at work. I chose my polish colors while waiting for them to prepare the stations. I appreciate that I was asked which (mani or pedi) I wanted to do first, but I said it didn't matter & the nail tech decided to do my mani first. There's a clear divider at each nail station between you and the them with space for your arms to slide under. The lady doing my nails really took her time & paid attention to detail, making sure to ask if whatever she was doing was ok with me. Usually in my experience, when I get a basic mani anywhere else they kinda just do a rush job, but she was so sweet! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Next up was my pedi, which a different nail tech did. The one time I put on jeans during this pandemic of course I'm getting an unexpected pedi.. my jeans were non-stretch denim and only my ankles were the highest they were going lol, so I was unable to reap the full benefits of a leg/ foot massage :(. I still enjoyed it though! They gave me ample time for my nails to dry before leaving which was nice. I went to go pay and asked for the names of the women who helped me (which i forget now..) but it's ok bc I was told that they keep record of which nails techs did each customers' nails. Such a great idea!!! I also appreciated that the nail techs were focused on their clients without constantly talking to one other the whole time. Overall really loved my whole experience here and that's saying a lot bc I'm usually really nit-picky about my nail salons. This is my first 5 star review for one! ***It's been a couple weeks since my visit, & my my nails are growing out (going to remove them right now.. lol), but the polish has stayed on beyond my expectations.
