Completely agree with Steve S. The food and people are not anywhere near like it used to be. Pretty sure the high reviews are from friends and family members, ha! I went in there to get ONCE slice of pizza, and when checking out I heard her say under her breathe, 'No tip?' Is giving a tip for buying a slice of pizza the norm?? I went in here to grab some lunch and was a bit surprised at how large the menu is for such a small place. I said I was interested in a sandwich and asked for a recommendation; the cheeseburger cheesesteak is what we came up with. Good Neapolitan pizza along Linglestown Rd. Christopher's puts out solid pies with good quality toppings. Service is also friendly and prompt. The crust of the pizza has a nice balance between being too soft or too thin, but is cooked consistently to the same level every time we have ordered from them. The chef salads are loaded with toppings, which appear fresh. The French fries are great with a nice crispy coating on the outside. Recommended for quality pizza and salads every time. read more

Christophers Pizza & Subs sits right in between Dollar Tree and a Beer Mart. They sell pizza , sandwiches , pasta dishes and salads. They have tables so you can dine in if you so please, order take out or delivery. I've had pizza there a few times and it's good but this review is most certainly for the salad. The southwest chicken salad to be specific. It is the BEST salad in the whole of Harrisburg. Fresh bed of greens topped with corn , black beans , cherry tomatoes, seasoned chicken, shredded cheese,tortilla strips and red onions. I prefer it without the red onions. It comes with spicy ranch as the dressing but I get french dressing because that's my fave. The salad is also paired with a homemade bread stick. This salad has me in such a chokehold I have yet to explore the rest of their menu. But they are usually busy so I'm sure other menu items are good too. I've had this salad at least 30 times no exaggeration. I've also subbed the chicken for shrimp (there is an up charge) and that way is good too. The salad is less than $10 and the serving is so huge I usually eat it in two sittings. I recommend calling ahead to place your order if you aren't dining in. Haven't found a meal I disliked here. Busy days can be a hit or miss on consistency, but you will always get friendly service. If you visit the restaurant, order the crazy fries. They are not on the regular menu, but are definitely worth it. read more

Ordered a steak calzone that was incredible! Honestly , I wish I had asked for extra sauce, it was so big. Stuffed with steak, ricotta and mozzarella cheese, very delicious. And what I like most was that the crust was just the right thickness, enough to support slicing the calzone up into wedges so that I could dip them in the sauce , but thin enough and slightly crispy to eat on its own. Hi everyone!! First, let me apologize for how long this is! I had a bad experience last night with Christopher's delivery. I posted the review last night, and wanted to add some things this morning - like the PHOTO It's long because I want to make sure you have all the information you need to make your decision when it comes to deciding where to eat! THEN, I had to revise it AGAIN because my boyfriend left out some key information from last night that I didn't learn till today!!! Crazzzzzzy!! Make it a great day! I am the nicest person. Ask anyone. But please don't tell me you fried the onions when you clearly did not fry the onions on our steak sub. We are house sitting and my boyfriend loves the food here. I was in the mood for a steak sub so we placed an order for delivery - a whole cheesesteak w/provolone, LTM, fried onions and hots on the side, and an order of mozzarella sticks. Almost $22, including tip. The food arrives, my boyfriend opens the bag and the smell of raw onion permeates the air. See - we were SHARING the sub, and he can't eat the raw onion cuz he has some kind of reaction to it. He can eat them fried, but not raw - he gets welts, hives...It's really weird (but, he has really weird food allergies) Now, I heard him say, CLEARLY, when he ordered, that he wanted FRIED ONIONS on the sub. I submit my photo for your review and I ask you - is this the photo of a fried onion? And...I'm trying to be nit picky - I'm really not - but why the HECK are they so big if they are on a sub?? I mean - you are gonna get a mouthful of onion in several bites!! The fried onions I know of are soft, yielding and caramelized. These onions are hard and still smell like RAW FLIPPING ONIONS!!! So...I call Christopher's and I say that, there has obviously been a mistake; the smell of onion is permeating my home...clearly these are not fried. I hear the back and forth about fried onions and then the verdict: "The onions are fried, ma'am." OMG! And I tell them to look for their review. We get a phone call back. This time from a woman, who "knows the onions were fried because she did them herself." Ok. In what world these onions are fried, I want to know. My boyfriend - in case I haven't mentioned it, I don't deserve him - says "I'm just gonna take the sub over there." It's not about getting my money back, at this point. It's about them knowing what the frick a fried onion looks like... So he goes, and comes back...they were far nicer to him in person than they were to us over the phone, and they did refund our money. However, there was a female employee who told him he should have just ordered pizza... Who does that?? Lol - I spent my career managing employees in Customer Service and I can tell you I would have sent employees home - or even suspend them - for the level of service I received. The saddest part about this situation is, it used to be all about the customer, remember? In some way, when we work, we all have customers, right? We all have people who complain about something we do - or don't do - for them. The staff at Christopher's could have handled this situation much better - they could have placed me on hold while discussing the onion debacle, instead of yelling about it in my ear. They should have NEVER allowed someone (who had an attitude to begin with) to call us who was not trying to help the situation. HOWEVER... **Revision: Now, my boyfriend decided to take the sub back - I didn't go because I was just too angry! When he got there, everyone was so nice to him - he said it was like he was in a different place! They took a look at the onions and apologized - they said it was not how they usually did things, and even showed him the pan they used to cook them. What a great thing to do. And - the woman who called us? She expressed her regret and apologized - even asked my boyfriend to extend her apologies to ME. Not only did they refund our money, but they offered to make whatever he wanted to eat, on the house. THAT, my friends, is quality customer service! Yes. I know it's not that serious. However, our society has become accustomed to being treated with such rudeness and disrespect, it has become the norm. Not for me! Not anymore! I'm choosing not to do business with such places. And, thanks to Social Media, I can share my experiences so that you can be informed, tooI don't have a lot of money to eat out, so when I do it's a real treat. I pay close attention to reviews. If my reviews help one person, I would be so happy So, I apologize for the length. I just wanted to make sure I remembered everything. I know it's totally not about the food, but more the experience! Stopped there for lunch this afternoon after my son's doctor's appointment. My slice of pizza was pretty good and my son didn't care for his. (At age 9 he is a bit of a pizza snob.) As we were sitting eating our meal, one of the workers who was assembling pizza boxes went behind the counter to make himself a slice. Without washing his hands or putting gloves on I could see him reach into the containers with his bare hands to add toppings to his slice. Rather doubt I will be going back any time soon. read more

Christopher's Pizza never delivered my order, and the owner (Christopher) screamed at me and accused me of lying when I called to ask what had happened. I had paid for the order and the tip using a credit card over the phone, and asked the driver to leave the door on the doorstep because I'm in a high risk group for COVID-19. I was told this was no problem. I waited inside next to the door and looked out the window the whole time and no one ever came. When I spoke to Christopher, he started screaming that they couldn't just leave orders on the door anymore just because people couldn't be bothered to answer the door, even though I explained the reason was because of COVID-19. I told Christopher I would never order from him again because of how he treated me. I could understand if the driver made a mistake, but I wouldn't ever spend my money there again after the way the owner behaved. I've spent at least $500 there over the years, and they just lost a great customer because of the owner's abusive behavior. read more

This is one of my favorite pizza shops in the area! The pizza is very good and they have a lot of toppings and specialty pizzas to choose from. The cheeseburger sub here is among the best I've had---and I order this item from many pizza places. The quality of meat is great and the bread is the flaky, chewy, beautiful Italian goodness that you think of when you think of a good pizza/sub place. Even the salads at Christopher's are yummy. The grilled chicken salad is fantastic! If you dine in, you can refill your sides as needed, which is super nice! They also do carry out and delivery. The staff here are always friendly and get the food made in good time. The prices are very reasonable. I would definitively recommend stopping at Christopher's if you're around---and try the cheeseburger sub! :-) read more

Don't ever get a Hawaiian pizza for takeout here. I haven't been to Christopher's in years and now the pizza sucks. When we got home, the pizza was so soggy in the middle. I'd say half the pizza was soggy. It was awful. They did have a lot of toppings, but may have needed to cook the crust more to support the wet toppings. Take the sogginess out of the equation, the pizza had no redeeming factors. The crust was very bland - no flavor at all. The sauce may as well have been out of a can. I'll be getting my pizza elsewhere from now on. read more

I called the shop and told them this, the girl was very nice and offered a new pizza and the shop will deliver it to my house. Wonderful. Flash forward to an hour later when I still had no dinner. I called back and requested a manager. The manager came on the phone and told me the pizza left 5 mins ago because, "Friday's are busy between 6-8pm and they had a big order, and they had to cook mine longer, blah blah blah." My parents and I have stopped by Christopher's for pizza several times, and I had the pleasure of also going here by myself for lunch. The pizza is great--very good quality for a local pizza joint. The cold veggie & cheese sub (lettuce, tomato, onions, broccoli, spinach, green peppers, etc.) is also delicious, and expect to take half of it home, considering the amount of veggies they pack into the sub! The employees have always been nice and professional--they even bring food to the table! Just as an advisory, this place can get busy around lunch and dinner, but the line moves quickly. Between music between too loud, the "skills" game being played, employees behind the counter talking loudly then at least one or more tables having loud talkers, not possible to have a quiet meal. All the food that we have tried has been good, particularly the pizza. I do not like their policy though of charging $.75 for 1/2 of a souffle cup of mayo because they didn't put enough mayo on a sub when they made it. That's just not right!!!!! read more

As far as order out pizza places go, Christopher's certainly holds up as my go to. Overall, the pizza is solid. Pretty standard prices. Good service. Quick delivery. My wife isn't a huge fan of the pizza crust. It could be much worse though I suppose. Toppings are good though. Very, very good subs! I wasn't 100% thrilled with the pizza (someone else mentioned that their sauce is plain and I can't agree more), but the subs? To die for. Why you call 3/4" thick crust pizza, "deep dish" is just wrong. This is in no way similar to deep dish pizza, because you use twice as much dough. And I think you forgot to put sauce on it! Toppings are the only thing good about it. read more

I'm going to be straight forward with this review.. stromboli. I think this place has got a great stromboli. Everytime we order it, in house, take out or delivery it's always delicious.
