Wow. The first time Christy saw my review, she texted me with a bunch of excuses as to why the appt went the way it did. It's sad to see that she resorted to sharing blatant lies in her response. I'm actually happy with MOST of the hair salons I've been to. This is one of 2 hair salons that I rated 2 stars (my lowest rating for a hair salon) in at least the past 2 years, while most of them are 5 stars. I would've gone back to the sweetheart who put my extensions in, but she moved out of state. The type of response I got from you definitely warrants a 1 star review now. I know for a fact that I was less than 10 minutes late - you are pulling the "20 minutes late" and "walked in at 8:52am" out of your butt. I told you at the appt that it was my first time getting hair extensions - at no point during our text conversation did you say the price and appt was limited to 40 extensions. After I made the appt online, which also did state these limitations, you texted me to ask if I had hair and what type of extensions I had. This would have been a GREAT time to ask how many tape-ins I needed move up. Just because "On an average client I usually see 40 tabs of tape in extensions" doesn't mean every new customer who books with you can read your mind and knows your averages. I would've rather been turned away than undergoing that painful, rushed, horribly done appt. Especially since I had nowhere to go that night, which you also lied about in your response. I don't ONLY buy my hair on Amazon - this was my first time buying hair, and it was from Amazon. I wash my hair every day, and had those extensions in for 6 weeks. What was I to do about the oily residue from the tape - other than wash my hair a bunch, which I already did? If you saw it as a problem, again, I would've LOVED if you turned me away instead, or suggested using dish soap that you mentioned during the appt before having me come back. I felt that paying you cash was doing you a favor because it would avoid the credit card fees that usually end up being charged to the person providing the services. Wow - when I asked to come in to get a lighter piece moved, you replied once with "Hi I will try to get you in this week. Friday." When I asked "What time?, you didn't reply until you saw my review - A WEEK LATER. Feel free to check out the pictures of our text convo, Everyone. How was I supposed to book an appt if you weren't getting back to me? Yes, you have online booking, which I love, but I didn't see an appt option for "Fixing extensions that Christy put in wrong", and you would've been the best to judge how much time was required for the appt. I also hope anyone reading this checks my other reviews to see that I have an even mixture of positive and negative reviews, and also takes a look at the kind of response they'd get if they, heavens-forbid, have a bad experience with you. I'm SO sorry you're sooooo bitter about this review, especially since all the issues could've been remediated if you asked better questions before the appt. Great cut/color, but since I was a new client, I believe that costs should have been discussed beforehand. My fault because I assumed it would be the same as I paid when I lived in Carlsbad, Pleasanton & Walnut Creek in upscale shops. Since it wasn't mentioned, I "assumed" it would be comparable, since the length has barely gone below my chin. The cost was over $300 w/an expected tip. I've lived in some pretty expensive places in the last 2-3 years & have had my hair glazed, extra treatment during shampooing, etc. It still never reached this price. read more

Christy is Amazing! She has had done my hair for years. I have natural dark brown hair , and she has been able to get me blonde , red , back to brown , then highlights and even purple! Now I have very light blonde hair , with a beautiful shadow root and gorgeous 22in extensions. I was very hesitant about getting extensions installed because I had heard negative things from other people ; they itch or they hurt , and that they can be hard to sleep with . But that is not the case with me ! I love my extensions and I can't imagine life with out them . Christy did an amazing job with my hair, it looked terrible before I came in and she made it look much better by the time I left. I came in with a few pictures that I sent through our messages prior, but she recommended me some other styles that would take less time (ash blonde) to which I agreed because her rate was very high. She charges $100 an hour which is astronomical, so I didn't want to take more time in her salon chair. I wish she had taken the lightness up a bit more, but that's life yeah, win some lose some. I won't be coming back because of the cost and my experiences listed below, places in the Bay Area have better customer service and are much less expensive. Along with this, she unprofessionally answered her phone while doing my hair and left working on me to look at her coworkers clients... This is what caused me to drop a few stars, her work is great but the beliefs of the workers in the lavender salon is what got me messed up. - -Before coming in, I noticed a "blue lives matter" flag sticker on the front of the building... police brutality... look it up, Black lives matter. Blue lives don't exist, police wear the uniform for 40 hours a week and can take off the shirt at the end of the day. Black and brown people cannot remove the color of their skin. Throughout my time in the chairs, she presented many racist micro aggressions that made me very uncomfortable along with ableist comments. I'll try to mention all that I could remember from this time I was there because you should know where your money is going. 1) She made a comment about Asians and proceeded to stretch her eyes, making fun of stereotypical Asian features. 2) called a Native American woman client "slow" for experimenting with Bisexuality 3) asked me "what nationality are you", called me "exotic", asked me if people ever ask me if I'm Mexican because of my thick eyebrows, and said I look racially ambiguous (these are all micro aggressions, read about it) My ethnicity isn't a guessing game. I was deeply saddened by this. 4) said women in the military are becoming bisexual because "everyone else is" on base as if bisexuality is a choice. This invalidates the struggles bisexual humans face when thinking about their sexualities. Queerness isn't a costume and by saying that, you're making it out to seem like it is one. Nobodies sexuality interferes with your life, they're not hurting you, let people live their lives and mind your business. 5) has an autistic family member and got annoyed that he gets fixated on her moms pool and that this will affect her vacation plans. This is ableism, please correct this behavior it's disrespectful to your nephew and other people with autism. 6) wore her face mask below her mouth during the entirety of the day because she's over the whole pandemic and cares more about her own comfort... wearing a face mask is to protect other people along with yourself. We are living during a pandemic, you can't just expect it to go away without doing any work to eliminate it... my mom works in a hospital where they must wear a mask for over 8 hours along with layers of PPE, it gets hot but the mask isn't a choice. I should've fake coughed. I should've done more research to find a place that actually has morals, but these days, racism isn't as out in the open. Not all racist white women are Karen's, some are quiet Christys. This is only what I can remember.. I can't even imagine what she says behind closed doors to peers about racial issues etc. I tried to be as objective as I could. What I've learned from today is that I need to do more research on places that I shop and on services I receive, if you have read this far and want to support Black businesses, go to my yelp page because I'll be compiling different Black owned businesses in NorCal to support. And Christy, before you respond, ask yourself, "Will my response be invalidating this person's experience?" Let me first start by saying Christy is amazing at what she does. I looked online at many different salon that can put in hair extensions and I couldn't find any good ones and I stumbled on to this page. I texted her and right away I got a response. I came in and she colored my hair to match the extensions because there was a slight color difference. The result was a little darker. She layer my hair to blend it well with the extensions. After a week I wasn't happy with the color difference, so I texted Christy and she told me to come in so she can fix the color and reposition some extensions. I don't even know where to start! Christy is amazing!! First, I sent a message late last night for an urgent appointment as I got hit with a last minute Christmas Party. She responded immediately and got me in first thing this morning!! Christy is phenomenal with hair color. Took care of my hair wonderfully I used to have a great hair dresser growing up but since moving out here I just avoided hair cuts because of people who didn't listen to what I want and would hack my tin hair short and made it where it wouldn't grow much past me shoulders. Christy really cares about the integrity of your hair! She gives great advice on how to get your hair longer and healthier. Since I use bleach she turned me on to olaplex, which has been keeping my hair healthy and allowed me to lighten the entire bottom section with no breakage!!! She also does permanent makeup & microblading. I had my eyebrows done a few years ago & just recently went in for a touch up.
