Checked this place out on a saturday afternoon. There is plenty of seating and its a family or large group friendly. Similar to chipotles layout, they offer a build your own concept with fries, tacos, burritos. It is a little pricier but they offer a lot more meat options and toppings. It also tasted cleaner and fresher than other taco places that offer a similar menu. I tried their california burrito which comes with fries inside. The manager was nice and helped me build it with carne asada amongst other great things. It was $10 but also the biggest burrito ive had. Saved half of it for dinner. Guac is extra $1.50 but so good. They had some awesome sauces that gave mine a great kick! Loaded fries or tater tots was also $10 and build your own. If i lived nearby, id definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. This is my first time to Chronic Tacos. My first piece of advice: DOWNLOAD THE APP!! You immediately get "50 points" towards their rewards program, which you could use towards a free taco (25pts) free churro (50 pts) or you can save it, rack up points and get a free meal (definitely the route I'm heading) When you first walk in you choose the type of meal you want (burrito, burr-rito bowl, tostada bowl, taco) etc then you choose your type of protein (carne asada, shrimp, chicken) the type of rice (spanish, cilantro lime) and your usual toppings (sour cream, cheese (they have an awesome blend I recommend it) pico de gallo, guac. They write everything down on a sheet of paper and hand it off to the kitchen to cook your proteins which is the last thing they add to your meal so it's fresh and hot. The staff is nice and answered any questions I had despite it being a Friday at prime time lunch hour. I didn't feel rushed. I have attached a picture of my bur-rito bowl and it was as good as it looks. My friend got a burrito and man that sucker was HUGE!! Definitely trying that the next time I go! Pricing is reasonable. In town from New York for work. Someone at the job site recommended the team to try Chronic Tacos. Excellent recommendation. The smells once you walk in makes your mouth watery how good it was. Everything on the menu sounded great to get. My al pastor burrito was delicious and juicy and savory. And the churros was a great icing on the top. Awesome tacos!! Love that you can order "street style," "gringo style," or "Baja style" tacos. This is my third time visiting and once again, it was delicious. I ordered the grilled shrimp taco "Baja style," Al pastor & carnitas "street style" (onion, cilantro, salsa). You can also choose between corn and flour tortillas. Combo upcharge comes with a drink and chips w/salsa. They also have margaritas and beer if you're thirsty for it. I will definitely be back to try out some more of the menu. Corporate Food done very average. Cool name cool vibe but the service and food were just ok at best. Two chicken Tacos, one Chronic Fries and two drinks $25. What we had tasted fresh, but it was just a bit too corporate. Meaning that there is a standard recipe and one won't break that. My wife is in a Keto Diet why don't they offer some substitution for beans and rice ? Well it was a quick taco fix. Place was not very busy so we were in line and out of line lickety split. Problem may have been with the fact that the place wasn't busy - but the meat for the tacos sits in bins. How can anyone be on a 4 to 5 star for a taco place where the meat is not cooked to order? My gf ordered the fish taco and her's was decent, nothing to write home about but the meat being freshly cooked was a big bonus. two stars for my tacos, three for hers.... so we'll just say the experience was a three. The sides were mostly bland. I had the black beans and they were entirely flavorless. Rice was good, the customer service was fantastic and I do like their hot sauces. So after all the yelp reviews... I finally decided to try this place. I moved here from LA so I was a little excited yet skeptical. The place was clean and everyone was super friendly! I ordered the following: Chicken Taco .. This was great. The flavor was perfect. Carne Asada Taco This was ok. The meat was tough.. But it could be that I came I around 7pm. The meat was probably not freshly made. Fried Fish Taco... This was great and made to order...However, the sauce they put on it was smoking hot. I will definitely get it next time with no sauce. CHIPS AND SALSA... The chips were warm and thin. Love them so much! We definitely will be back and maybe even try trivia night on Thursdays. They sell bottle/can beer here as well. Cali brought to the A... definitely a great place to try , I love the quickness and the Atmosphere is great ! So I'm love with the mural and the shrimp tacos . I think it's great that they incorporated a Vegetarian option and the also have a potato taco for those that are vegan . Definitely options for all my fiends. I ate both of the beer-battered and sautéed shrimp tacos , I enjoyed both . Then I had the potato taco it was also very good with the crisp tortilla . My stepdaughter and I came in at 8:10 on a Thursday. They close at 9. It was obvious that they were hoping to close early (ingredients were out of the cooler and on the counter preparing to put them away). There were 4 men in front of us ordering. We were planning to dine-in, but decided to order to go to get out of there quicker so they could close. I've worked in restaurants, my husband manages a restaurant - I would never try to go somewhere that is actually *about to close.* We ordered and it was so chaotic and confusing. Someone else took one of our bags of food and the man at the counter just had no clue what was going on. He kept grumbling to his coworker about "why there were so many people coming in when they were about to close" quite loudly. His entire demeanor gave that off already - it didn't need to be stated. When we left, we realized we got half of what we ordered and the half we got was ... the most mediocre tacos. I was very pleased with my visit here. My wife and I enjoyed our meal after our original choice of Chicken Salad Chick proved to be a very crowded destination. Absolutely love this location! I visited for the first time and the staff and customer service was unbeatable. The manager even fixed my food, checked on me, and introduced himself! (Of course I didn't tell him I was an elite member because I wanted to experience the restaurants vibe). The artwork in this place is neat too. So for the food I got tacos of course. It's like a build your own taco bar and I Stan! Very flavorful and perfectly portioned tacos. To drink I had a margarita. Definitley one of the best I've had in a long long time. First time to Chronic, never heard of it... just went on a whim. First impression the restaurant was very clean, not too crowded. Staff greeted us immediately and was very friendly. Good music not too loud and sports on the tv. Overall ambiance was about 4/5 I had carnitas nachos and split a tots and quest with my wife. The nachos were really good, fresh ingredients and the carnitas were cooked well. The tot were hot and crispy and queso is queso lol. Overall the food was 4/5. I'm a San Diego transplant, and naturally, I got extremely excited to see a taco shop serving a California burrito that wasn't a Del Taco. No offense to Del Taco, because I love them (keep making those bean burritos, my dudes!), but I wanted something that wasn't Del. Finding a taco shop that serves a burrito, let alone a Cali burrito, that isn't full of rice and beans and lies in Georgia is like finding $100 on the sidewalk. Sign me up! I ordered and got my burrito, with a side of green salsa, because green is where it's at, and sat down to eat it. The burrito was huge. Not San Diego huge (we're talking a burrito the length of an adult's forearm), but still a great size. It smelled good. I had high hopes. Man, I hate that I was disappointed. Something was missing. I don't know what it was, because all the components were there. And it was kind of bland. And I was really sad, because I was so ding-dang excited for this burrito to go into my face. Maybe I came at an off time? It was 3pm. Maybe that was it. I'd like to give it another shot, because I see other Cali folks (yooo!) in the reviews raving about the food. I've been dying to find a taste of home, so maybe I hyped it up too much in my head and I needed to taper my expectations? Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. It just wasn't what I expected. On the flip side, the restaurant was spotless, smelled clean (even through my mask!), and the staff was super nice and accommodating. Finally found my place to get a carnitas burrito! Since chipotle stopped serving them a couple years ago I haven't found a place to get them. Burrito's are awesome, taco's awesome, churro's awesome. Chronic Tacos is fine. I think the chicken burrito bowl, "bowl-rrito" (I think that's how it's spelled) was flavorful and filling, but I don't see it above and beyond what other, larger chains like Chipotle or Moe's are doing. For lunch, you can expect to pay $11-12 for a burrito, chips, and a drink. It's definitely worth a try, but if you were looking for something cheaper, it's not going to be here. So just be prepared. As far as the quality of ingredients, i think they rank pretty well. Though they do seem to use Chicken thighs as opposed to breast meat. I didn't mind that, but I know that some are picky. The one thing I really wish they had is a salsa bar. You have to pay for individual containers of salsa, which is just nickel and diming to me, but it really just inconvenient to have to wait in line again if you just want a little more salsa. read more

I love trying new places and I had a half day off so I decided to saunter up from Sandy Springs to Alpharetta to try Chronic Tacos out. I had no idea what it was besides the fact that it was tacos so I was surprised to see it's like Chipotle, Qdoba, Willys, etc. I ordered the tacos; one carne asada and one carnitas. One nice touch is that guac is included with the tacos, but given the higher price than average, it should be. You have a choice of corn or flour. I had both and they're pretty standard. The meats themselves were flavorful, but the steak was quite tough and there were more gristle pieces than should be allowed. The gristle wasn't even tender at all either so it was very noticable. The carnitas was okay but maybe a bit too watery. To be clear, I do mean watery over juicy. I don't know why but I decided to get refried beans and what I thought was lime white rice. Just meh. The rice didn't even have a hint of lime so I may have misheard the server, which is totally my fault. Get the Mexican rice if you do upgrade to a "meal". I'd get three tacos next time if I do come again. It's brand new so it goes without saying that it may improve, but 8 always expect their best foot forward ESPECIALLY if you're brand new. If I vxx one again, I will try other meats and hopefully feel the need to update my review and rating. P.S. They are very skimpy with the cheese and I was too shy to ask for more because their menu is one of those nickel and dime type dealios. Don't be an Ogu! 5 stars? For this place? I had to come out of Yelp retirement to make sure people know the real deal b/c there is no way this is 5 stars. Chronic Tacos is pretty much like Chipotle fast food type Mexican spot coming out of California. You chose what you want - taco, burrito, etc. - and then go down the line picking your protein and toppings. Nothing revolutionary here. I had one Al Pastor and one Carne Asada taco. Opted to get the combo which added chips/salsa and a fountain drink. Pretty mediocre tacos in my opinion. They are typical taco size with a ok amount of meat filling, but the flavor wasn't anything special and the meat quality was blah. Chips were waaaayyy too salty. The mild salsa wasn't bad though The combo was not worth the $10 and change I paid for them. Again....TWO tacos for $10. If you want good tacos, go to Rio Balsas Taqueria about 2 miles (7 mins) down the road. Way better food for the same price; their carne asada tacos are made to order (not just sitting out in a pan), and they cook the steak to the your preferred temperature (rare, medium rare, etc). Chipotle is about the same in terms of quality, but a little cheaper. The interior and service are great though. read more
