Very average. This is a regular Mexican-American take-out lunch counter with tacos, burritos, etc. Walk in, and they assemble it in front of you while other guys prep in the back. Always busy during lunch, but they move fast. Depending on your luck, the quality of ingredients and portion sizes vary - but most likely if you have high standards and are looking for fresh, flavorful "authentic" Mexican food, this will be disappointing for you. Protein choices are typical beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp recipes with sides of beans, rice, vegetables, salsa, cilantro, all served from warmer trays. Taste is super mid, and can be bland or dry on a bad day. Their Baja sauce adds some flavor. Again, inconsistency in quality, so it's kind of a gamble. Prices are reasonable for this location. If you just need a quick fill up during lunch it's totally fine. Not really bad, but totally forgettable. read more

Quick lunch on our way to Little Corona Del Mar Beach. When it comes to tacos, I always like to get beer-battered shrimp tacos but they only have grilled ones so I thought why not. Also, we got the carnitas tacos, and al pastor bowl. The food doesn't seem like anything special, aesthetic-wise but they were all flavorful. I was especially surprised by the grilled shrimp tacos, the shrimp were not stinky and were cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all. Service was pretty quick. We enjoy everything we've tried at a variety of Chronic Tacos venues locations: tacos, bowls, taco salad she'll bowls (personal favorite) and small burritos. In my opinion, their ingredients are so flavorful and so fresh. I hope they never remove that street corn either- as it's one of my favorite ingredients to request in my burritos and bowls. (corn is extra $) A slight repeat of my review at the HB location, but I appreciate that their locations are consistent fresh ingredients and welcoming staff. First off, I am so late to visiting Chronic Tacos venues. I finally understand the fandom with Chipotle's- because as big a fan one may be with that spot, I am equivalently obsessed with CHRONIC TACOS! They make my small burritos perfectly no matter which location I've been to. Staff are always incredibly kind and seem so positive and welcoming, no matter how insanely busy they are. Their ingredients are by far, so much better than the other burrito/bowl/taco venues. If I am not at a Chronic Tacos at least once-a-day, then I must have missed a meal for a good reason. Love their Baja sauce and their Al pastor. We also enjoy their churro bites with caramel sauce. Keep up the great work, everyone. read more

I don't understand how this place has anything above 2 stars. How can you have chicken with zero flavor, rice that is clearly old and dry, AND be stingy with your portions? I had to ask for triple chicken just to get a regular amount for an adult, now I'm wondering what the kids meal looks like, it's probably one piece of chicken between two halves of one tortilla chip. I'd rather have taken the 20 dollars it took for that bowl and given it to a homeless person. At least the crack they'd buy with it would have more flavor. read more

Several months back, we ate at this Chronic Taco location and it was fantastic. Last three times (including today) were very disappointing. You gotta check this gem out. Been coming here for years. The place has been consistently great. Great food, fast and friendly service. Expect long lines during peak times but the lines move fast so don't be shy about jumping in on the end. My go to is the chicken tacos and a side of fries. The chicken is always juicy and flavorful. The fries are always cooked just right. Carne Asada is my second go to. Equally delicious. My wife usually chooses taquitos or the crispy shredded beef tacos. I haven't ordered a breakfast burrito or a California style burrito yet but it seems like every time I am there someone is ordering them. I wrote my review because Chronic should have a loud political stance with its stickers. I got a really nice reply about being unaware of the stickers and taking them down. It was super professional and appreciated, and I was absolutely going to go back. I'm unsure of why that got deleted, or why the business owner (potentially a different owner of the business?) decided to update their comment to something very rude. It's in poor taste, and the locals are right. Everyone knew the guy who took over wasn't a great guy and he just showed his true colors. Instead of taking an empathetic route, he took a pathetic one, and one that doesn't understand the nuances behind the sticker and how it makes some of his customers feel very unwelcome. I've come here for a long time. The staff is friendly. Food is always quick and bomb. I love their salsas. I usually get a burrito or 2 taco plate. We had the churros for the first time today and they were so crispy and warm. It's just a fun vibey environment, especially this location. I love seeing family's in line to grab their fix and it's a nice corner location. It's enjoyable to eat outside and people watch on pch and at the flower shop and nearby spots.
