The front-desk staff member with the lip rings was polite, but that was the only positive part of the visit. The physician, Ms. Kathleen Laurel, spoke so quickly that it was nearly impossible to follow what she was saying, and I had to bring my husband in just to understand her. She was not at all caring and showed no interest in discussing options--her attitude was essentially their way or no way, which is unacceptable in a medical setting. The office itself was visibly run-down, and the exam room was downright unsettling. I started to see Dr. Hung in 1989 He's very caring and knowledgeable, with a great bedside manner. he explains everything to you the patient. I haven't seen him in a few years, but I'm going back again glad that he still practicing. read more

Had a recent colonoscopy. Dr. Hung and his staff were so kind and thorough at explaining everything. Made me feel more at ease. Dr. Hung called me shortly after my visit with results. I was amazed at how quick results were provided. It was one of my better experiences than the last two I had with other doctors. This review does not reflect what I think of the business, however it does reflect whst I think of the review acknowledgements. Don't grow so big after all these years that you stop caring about what has built the business...your clients. Why is it that the only responses to client ratings are "mostly" the good reviews. Even with the good reviews, the responses are not genuine and templates. If a client takes their time to write about their experience, then take the time to address the good and the bad genuinely. The worst...starting with his front office staff. They are indifferent to a patients needs. After I walked out from my last appt, I got to my car and then needed to clarify a date and instruction so I called & they asked me to hold; I would have gone back in but my husband cannot walk and was in pain and I didn't want to get him out of the car again (he can't be left alone.) Anyway, I was put on hold - after 8 minutes I thought this is ridiculous and decided to go back in. I walk in and the two girls were just sitting there talking and laughing. "Can I help you?" one asked I said yes I am on hold for the past 9 minutes now. Response was "oh, ok, what did you need?" They don't give a fig about patients...they are happy to let you sit on hold hoping you'll hang up and call back - in this case they obviously forgot about you because they are to engrossed in their socializing with each other. Doctor Hung is rarely in the office now and more than likely you will see his PA. I want to see the doctor since he is familiar with our health issues. Yes, the PA can address the issue but it's telling the complete tale all over again. The doctor is pleasant enough however, his PA and nurse aid are all cold and impersonal - no personality, no pleasantries, no smiles. Might as well be robots. They just get you in and out asap. They are rude and talk over you when at the front desk. Appointments are 3 weeks sometimes longer. Dr. Hung does not work on Fridays. I've been with this doctor for 8 years now and service continues to decline. read more

Now is the story I was there to help my dad coz my dads doesn't speak English I was there to translate for him.I had work on that day I told them that I'm there to help my dad check in and when my dad's turn he can call me I can translate for him. They told me that I can not do that. I'm like why ? They said that is gonna be too much work for the doctor I'm like what ?? I met with Dr. Hung and his staff a few weeks ago for a check up and they went above and beyond to take care of me. The location was easy to find, clean, and I was treated with respect and kind service. I can tell that Dr. Hung is a warm and kind doctor who cares about his patients. Him and his team were professional and extremely knowledgeable. I can see why he won the Gastrointestinal Doctor of the year award. Also - it looks like they went through a staff change, which would explain why I see all of these other negative reviews from the past. Either that, or these Yelpers are just super entitled these days. Maybe both? Regardless, the staff and attitude they have now seem to be very positive and welcoming! 5 Stars, highly recommended! I had an appointment and I showed up twenty minutes early in hopes that I could be seen quickly so I could return to work. After signing in and sitting in the office for almost two hours, I asked when I was going to be seen. The office staff seemed shocked to see me and then admitted that they had missed my name, crossed it off the sign in sheet, and my file had not been added to the rotation. In short, they had forgotten about me. They promised I was next and then I sat for another thirty minutes and watched them call multiple people ahead of me. I went and saw the PA who wanted to order some tests but needed to speak to the doctor first. About a week later, they called me and said they would schedule the tests on a day when the anesthesiologist was there for the safety of my autoimmune disorder. This was over three months ago and they still have not scheduled my appointments. read more

I have been having issues with my liver/stomach for a couple of years no with no real solutions. Seems ever since COVID medical care has fallen by the wayside. Scheduling initial appointment and the staff was so rude. Tried to find out about practice and possible nutritionist information and the female on the phone was the worst! Condescending, inconsiderate, zero compassion whatsoever. When I tried to end the conversation with a, "Thank you and I hope you have a good day" she hung up on me. I called back to get her name and speak with the office manager. Talked with "Gia", had to fight with her to get her name. She said there was no way to know who I spoke with she also had a bad attitude, and may have been same person I talked with earlier. Gia said their office manager doesn't have a set schedule and there is no way to speak with her/him by phone or email. WHAT? Gia then asked for my date of birth and tried to cancel my appointment. If this kind of treatment from staff is allowed even before I see the Dr... than forget it! I am not cattle or just a copay. I'm seriously concerned about my health. Isn't there anyone in the medical field who cares anymore? #Sickandtiredofbeingsickandtired. Side note, I see Dr. Hung responds to the positive reviews only. I have to say we had a horrible experience so I won't mark any stars if there was a thumbs down I would definitely mark that one. My mother went in for a simple colonoscopy and according to the person who performed it not sure if his PA or if it was Hung they were unable to complete the procedure and a week later my mom had something horrible happen to her let's just say she was pooping from both ends now I find it hard to believe it wasn't caused from the procedure when she was not pooping from her front end prior!!! After making an appointment and meeting him and his staff, I immediately felt very comfortable as everyone was very friendly. I gotta say Dr Hung is the man! Super knowledgeable and experienced in this field. I took my grandma here since she has been experiencing some chronic stomach pain issues for several years and has tried several different medicines and seen multiple doctors but still with these issues. So finally she was able to see Dr. Hung who was able to figure out the issue and prescribe her the right medicines. Since then she has been feeling much better. I booked an appointment with Dr. Hung and it was a fairly simple process. Staff was easygoing and didn't have any issues seeing me the day of. It was the PA who came to see me. She was knowledgeable and shared my prognosis with the doctor who prescribed medicine and treatment. No complaints here. I was treated kindly and with care. Highly recommended. read more

I took my grandmother here for a visit as Dr. Hung was referred to me by a family friend. We had a 2pm appointment and they took us in at around 2:15pm. The staff was friendly and talkative while we waited. The doctor was doing surgery so it was the PA that saw my grandmother. It was very helpful that the PA was able to speak to my grandmother in Chinese. She was very attentive and understanding of what's going on with my grandmother's stomach. On 09/01/2021 I went in with a face mask on for my appointment and to my surprise non of the reception staff were wearing masks. Soon after taking my seat the office waiting room filled to overflowing with NO social distancing at all. So I decided to notify staff I was uncomfortable and would wait in my car until they were ready. After I was called inside to meet with a masked medical technician I was informed that even though I was vaccinated I would need proof of a covid test before the doctor would treat me. I came in to this office about a few weeks ago to see a gastroenterologist since I was having a lot of stomach pain, and I was not at my best. Thankfully, when I called to make an appointment, the front staff ladies were able to squeeze me in that day. I was extremely thankful since other doctors offices are booked a couple weeks out (understandable). I was then greeted by the front and back staff ladies, they are very friendly, & knowledgeable, but unfortunately, I was unable to see Dr. Hung because he seems to be always at the hospital doing procedures or something. I had to see the PA instead who was great with me and was able to help me out with my situation. Needless to say, the experience was great and I recommend those to come in this office. read more

You don't go to a specialist because they treat you special. Its a plus if they do, don't get me wrong. You go to a specialist because they do the job you need done, at a very high level.... If their lobby is crowded, and the hospital wait is extended... Its because others too, have sought out this doctor. So yea you will wait. Yes you may get frustrated.... My own experience: 1. We called over FIVE times during office hours, no one answered, and voice mail is full. A Lady finally answered the phone, and claimed "can not find your name in our system." This went back and forth over 5 minutes. Finally she claimed "we found your in our system" 2. We asked "what's the authorization status your office submitted to insurance company? that's over TWO months, haven't heard from your office any updates" 3. She insisted "no records showing you were here before, you need to make an appointment?" We told her we were there two months ago, and we still have the copy of Dr. Hung's prescription copy. She put us "on hold". 4. After another 5 minutes hold, she said "It's pending, we will contact you once we heard anything from Insurance company." We asked her "have you submitted the authorization to the insurance company?" 5. She said "no records showing you were here before, are you sure you are Dr. Hung's patient?" This conversation went back and forth couple time, she couldn't tell if the authorization is submitted or not. We believe Dr. Hung uses the high tech "AI Robot Office Assistant", keep going loops and loops, try to discourage patients from calling. Stay away from Dr. Hung, our experience with him wasn't pleasant. He doesn't care about his patients. read more

Hind sight, I would have read the reviews before wasting my time. The problem is the doctor hired some staff and pays them minimal wages. They have no office skills and poor customer service. I'd like to share my experience of Dr Hung's office. I had an appointment here 3 weeks ago. At first I was a bit nervous from of all of the other negative reviews of not being treated right and waiting forever. The day of, I arrived about 3 minutes before my scheduled appointment. I waited about 25 minutes before I was let in. I didn't mind at all- I think it's customary to wait at doctors offices. The staff was friendly and I was able to catch up on work, anyway. To my delight, the doctor was very warm and actually cared about my condition. I can tell he is very experienced and good at what he does based on the types of questions he asked me. We got along well and in addition, even talked about our shared interest of deep sea fishing. After about 20 minutes, he prescribed me a treatment plan and sent me off, all smiles. Its been a few weeks now and I received a follow up call from their staff to check in. I appreciate that. I will go back to visit the good doctor again soon. read more

Tried to get some help from a new GI and I went to see Dr. Hung. Yet it was the PA. She came in with an attitude and was pretty rude. Without getting into details about my health issues I wanted to see if they can help me with some stomach relief and help me get a test that I was supposed to have scheduled. She didn't look at my chart or history from the previous doctor. She said you need to go to your other doctor and work with them you can't go back and fourth. All I can say is that was the biggest waste of my time I truly went there to get help and get some type of relief. If I can only put no star for this place. I did not see the Dr instead I saw the PA. Who ordered dufferent scans. Was instructed by her to wait for grove diagnostics to call me. 2 wks after i called grove only to find out this place havent sent the request. I called this place and was told the person to faxes requests was on vacation and that she faxed the request 12 days after I was seen. Appalling service. I wonder why insurance companies use this Dr at all. Wait time when you come here is over 2 hrs bcoz the book many people same time for 1 Dr to see. Its ridiculous!
