My husband craved for Chinese bbq and wanted to try this place out. It's in the same shop as noodle man so I figured if I didn't like the bbq then I'll settle for noodles. Walking in, I noticed the Christmas tree still up. Lol. No biggie, I love Christmas. Was just odd to see it up still. We were immediately seated and given the menu and asked for our drink orders. Everyone was friendly. The food was mediocre. Nothing amazing or wowed me. The noodle soup I ordered was bland - which was perfect for my son. Lol. I think they also gave the wrong type of noodles from what I ordered. I love rice but I thought the rice portion they gave was too much! Then again rice is life! I was expecting great food but was a bit disappointed. We got the triple combo, roast duck, crispy pork belly and bbq pork. The roast duck served cold and it was the crispy peking style that I was expecting. I asked the lady this is the crispy skin kind and she kept saying it was. This just could have been a language barrier issue. I didn't enjoy the cold roasted duck. Now the second bbq crispy pork belly, it had a nice crunchy skin and decent amount of meat served with hoisen sauce and a sweet and sour type sauce. I didnt enjoy this that much either it was served cold and the fat was kind of congeled. The best part was the bbq pork, this was really good, of I go back definitely would get a plate of this, the flavor was on and it was served warm. I honestly don't know why the duck which was fatty served cold and the roast pork served cold I didn't like it at all. Of it was served warm I think I would have enjoyed it. read more

This place is hidden inside the Golden Sky plaza (big, purple building) and the sign is not very clear so can be hard to find. Once inside, it was very clean and service was quick. We ordered family style and shared multiple items. Everything was quite tasty. I personally thought the sauce on the crispy pork was a bit too sweet, but others seemed to enjoy it - so just something to consider. We also ordered the fried whole flounder - which takes a little longer to cook than the other dishes. I recommend this place for those looking for authentic Chinese food, and definitely recommend the flounder if you have some time to spare. read more

I think they change the ownership, it's now called Fortune , but on the receipt still says Chubby boy bbq. Menu is basically the same. But price increases about 10-15%. Food quality was not as good as before. Don't order the beef rolls, outside of the beef roll used to be nice and crispy like green onion pancake, the order I got today, looks uncooked and tasted starchy. read more

This used to be my go-to Chinese spot but can no longer recommend. Not sure if it's still Chubby Boy because there is no signage to that name. It may be Noodle Man or Fortune now. Service is terrible. Food takes forever to come out. I always ordered roast duck won ton noodles but they refuse to make it now. The only way you can get that is to order the noodles and duck separately which will run you $40 for a bowl of soup! I've had large family reunion dinners here but I don't think I trust this place anymore. So disappointed. read more

Solid Cantonese style cafe with some pretty tasty dishes. Definitely tasted the "wok hei" in all the dishes. Wok hei si the smoky flavor that comes from food cooked on high heat in a wok. The beef chow fun was perfect, flavor was not overly salty, noodles and beef great texture. We don't usually do fried rice but tried the scallop and egg white fried rice. The dish was super flavorful but a tad over seasoned. So if you are a MSG hater, this place is not for you... lol but I love me some MSG! The salt and pepper wings were again super flavorful but a little too salty. Not as crispy as some places but still a solid dish. The char siu (BBQ pork) was good with a mix of lean/fat pieces but definitely sweeter than other places. The items I would probably not order again, the beef burrito....the wrap was sooo thick. Definitely not the best. The scallion pancake just not light and flaky. I'd stick to the purely Cantonese dishes and the other more Shanghainese dishes I would probably avoid. If the dishes weren't over seasoned this would be a 5 star review. I came on two different days once to get the bbq pork and the other time to get roast pork belly. The gentleman that helped me both times was very nice the roast had a nice taste and was crispy definitely recommend. The bbq pork was also very tasty a little on the dry side but I did come late that day I would recommend both if you're looking for roast pork or bbq pork. read more

Our go to spot for big family dinners. Staff is accommodating, food is great. We usually go around 400-5pm, before dinner rush, to grab the big table and pretty much have the restaurant to ourselves. They're known for their roast pork, and we usually end up ordering 2 pounds of it! read more

Finally, another Asian/Chinese Bbq place that I believe is even better than the only other highly rated Asian Bbq restaurant in Vegas worth the name! I was a little confused at first when I walked in because Chubby Boy Bbq is actually located towards the back and inside The Noodle Man restaurant (Spring Mountain location). I forgot to ask if Chubby Boy Bbq and the Noodle Man were owned by the same company because I just wanted bbq takeout and thought I was in the wrong place. A very nice and English fluent Asian server quickly greeted me and led me to the bbq area after I gave him my order. I ended up getting roast duck, bbq pork, roast pork belly, and bbq ribs. Everything in the display case window looked so fresh and delicious! The roast ducks were plump and glistening, the pork belly had that golden, crackly skin, and the char siu style rib slab showed plenty of meatiness on each bone. I especially liked that I could choose between fatty, lean, or half/half for the glazed bbq pork strips (gotta have some fat for yummiest texture and flavor- hmm, maybe that's why it's called Chubby Boy?). I'm certainly returning to try the steamed chicken and maybe something on the noodle menu too. I went around 11 AM on a Saturday so it wasn't busy and hardly any wait time for my meats to be chopped and packed. The server guy also helped carry my large order to my car. Easy parking, very clean and fairly spacious interior, no problems with English communication, friendly and considerate service, prices comparable to Asian Bbq, outstanding flavor quality of the bbq (tastes as good as it looks!)-- Chubby Boy seems to still be a bit under the radar, but I hope more people will come over and discover why this somewhat hidden Asian/Chinese bbq place could soon become the best not-so-secret-anymore Asian/Chinese bbq place in Vegas! Initially, we wanted to eat at the dimsum restaurant in the neighboring plaza but it was packed but ended up enjoying the food at Chubby Boy so much we came back a week later. The restaurant features an authentic Hong Kong style menu and almost everything was cooked to perfection. I have been to this restaurant several times prior and visited again this Thanksgiving and the food was horrible. The roast duck was thin and dry. The won ton soup was nowhere to the taste level from previous visit in early 2023. The salt pepper pork chops were too salty, the pan fried special noodles were below average. The tofu with veggies was ok, but not to expectations. Something has changed in the kitchen staff as the food preparation is not up to par and very disappointing. Absolutely crap service. Arrived on a Sunday evening for dinner with a group of friends & stood at the hostess stand for over 10 minutes without a single acknowledgement. There was an owner or mgr that was sitting down right in plain sight of the hostess stand as eventually later I saw them talking with other patrons & going behind the area where the roasted meats hung. There were 3 servers & none of them would look up when walking around so they could ignore hostess stand. After waiting for 10 minutes so finally waved my hand & said "escuse me" to the waitress that came to the table closest to the hostess stand. We were finally seated & were given waters pretty quickly. Then the wait to order began. After sitting for almost 25 minutes was finally able to flag someone down to take our orders. Was told there was only roast duck, roast pork & pork belly for the 3 bbq meat dish. Such turned out to be untrue as other diners that ordered after me were able to get chicken. And again the wait to get our food. Several in our party received theirs after about 30 minutes. 2 of our party waited 50 minutes to receive food as the rest of us were almost finished before they recived their food. We actually had to again flag a waitress down to let them know we were still waiting on entrees. We had ordered an appetizer that we had to ask for when were were 1/2 done with our entrees. An appetizer is to be delivered before the entree! I would never go back to this place as the service was so crappy & they were playing favorites to specific tables. Always waiting on those tables & giving them the better cuts of meat. We saw what these other tables left & the cuts were better than what we were given as our main. We were given the hard crappy small ends of everything. Honestly this place should be ashamed of themselves.
