I am writing this review out of extreme frustration. This is, without a doubt, the worst restaurant I have ever been to in Las Vegas -- no exceptions. From the food to the service, everything was disappointing. Honestly, I don't even think it deserves one star. I have no idea how it has a rating of over four stars. From the moment we walked in and were seated, the server's attitude was already unfriendly. When we pointed out issues with the food, she showed no willingness to resolve them and did not apologize at all. Instead, she simply said that they "cannot control the ingredients." As you can see in the photos, the chashu pork in the ramen was just two pieces of pure fat -- and both bowls we ordered were like this. She insisted that this was normal and said, "We can't control how fatty the pork we receive is." I do not believe this is a responsible attitude for a restaurant. Ingredients are absolutely something a restaurant should manage. If there are quality concerns, the dish should not be served to customers in the first place -- it is not acceptable to shift the responsibility onto the customer. What's even worse, the sliced potatoes were green -- all three dishes. The server actually said, "I've never heard that green potatoes shouldn't be eaten." This is shocking. Green potatoes contain solanine, which can be toxic and cause food poisoning. I believe I have every right to report this to the health department so that you can properly educate yourselves. Is this really how you run a restaurant? Is this how you treat your customers? By the way, the waitress who was clearing the table deliberately pulled the napkin out from under my phone, causing it to fall onto the table. This is the first time I've ever left a negative review on Yelp, but their behavior was truly unacceptable. I hope my review helps anyone who is considering coming here. read more

Always incredible!! Super delicious food every time we visit. After finding this place, my partner and I go about once every week or two. It's become a staple in our lives and we tell all our friends about it! Feels like a hidden gem, always cozy and clean. They have an incredibly diverse menu, we tried nearly everything else before even getting to the ramen!! My favorite dish is the pork fried rice, we often get an additional to-go because it's SOO delicious. The food is consistent and fresh without fail. We often come here for comfort meals. Our main reason for coming back so often though, is the primary server, Chi. She is so wonderful and always provides the best service. She takes so much pride and care of the guest, that we thought she was the owner for a while. Come to find out, she is just a server that loves her job and strives to give the best experience. Wow... what a wild experience! Service is an absolute 10/10. The server was attentive and nice. Since it was absolutely empty, I appreciate the server making an effort to keep the space clean by actively cleaning. THE FOOD... I'm sad to say a strong 0/10. As passionate supporters of Izakaya Go (whose quality has unfortunately gone down this year anyway) this absolutely broke our hearts. In all honesty, we didn't know Ramen Show 2 existed on Spring Mountain until the Ramen Show on Rainbow closed down a few years ago. They had mentioned that this location also had handrolls, which was what had initially brought us to the Ramen Show on Rainbow. (I do believe they used to go by another name before - Takopa, and it specialized more in Japanese street eats.) Tucked away in a corner in Chinatown Plaza and hidden behind some stairs, Ramen Show 2 can easily be missed amongst the AYCE restaurants neighboring it. We've been fortunate to never have to wait when we showed up for a bite to eat - even on Christmas night! Despite having ramen in its name, we actually rarely order any ramen when it's the Husband and I dining. Sometimes, the Little Guy will order a bowl of ramen for himself but the rest of us like to enjoy the shared bites. The ambiance and service was great. Very similar to (I believe) their sister restaurant, Izakaya Go. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The curry fries came out fresh, but didn't have much of a curry taste in my opinion. Wish they weren't crinkle cut fries, especially for ~$8. Scallop carpaccio was good for the price but lacked in flavor (~$13). It was the ramen that was the most disappointing. The Show Black (~$16) broth lacked depth and flavor. It felt like they didn't simmer the meat long enough to bring out any rich flavors. Also felt like they may have used jarred minced garlic because the garlic wasn't very strong at all. The noodles almost tasted like Chinese thin egg noodles. Had really high hopes for this place, hope it was just an off day that we came. read more

That ramen craving hit and I wanted to try a new place, so I hit the Google and found this place, lots of good reviews on Yelp. We did not make a reservation, although you can online, because it was Monday before 6pm. We parked and walked in and were given a table right away. Shockingly, most of the tables were taken, either early bird dinner eaters like us or really late lunch-ers. The atmosphere in here is great. Very traditional izakaya vibes going on with the wood, the seating and the general décor. It smells nice in here and there isn't too much clutter around. The menu was slightly different than the menu online, which made me a bit worried. My husband doesn't eat pork and I have to ensure we go to ramen places that have non-pork alternatives. Luckily, they do have chicken base, it's just different from the online one. My husbands chicken yuzu ramen was excellent. 5 stars for that one. My tonkotsu miso ramen was...interesting. It wasn't bad per se but there was a weird off taste that I wasn't familiar with, even though this is my fave type of ramen. The broth was eh. The chashu was extremely weird because it tasted like Chinese BBQ char siu. I didn't like the veg or the egg either. We opted for spicy karaage and I also wasn't too impressed with this. I know Japanese isn't a typical "spicy" cuisine, but there are other nice hot sauces that can be used other than the one that this place (and quite a few others) have been using. Great pricing though, so I would come back for a second chance. The chicken ramen is worth coming back in as well. read more

If I were to rate this place on food alone I would only give it 2 stars, but the ambience and the really great server is boosting my rating to a 3. The inside of this place has a great look and feel to it, and we had a great server. So, we thought we were going to be in for a fantastic dining experience. Unfortunately, the food didn't cut it for us. We started with the crispy rice appetizer (3 stars). This was fine. I wouldn't have a problem sharing it if someone wanted to, but it doesn't compare to the crispy rice that we regularly get in San Diego, which is heads and shoulders better. The Tonkatsu Ramens that we had weren't bad per say, but neither of us really enjoyed ours (2 stars). For a Tonkatsu, the broth wasn't very creamy and the flavor profile seemed slightly off. Also, the pork cuts that came in our ramen were pretty much all fat. The noodles didn't really do it for us either. The one part of the ramen that was great was the egg....it was cooked perfectly. I would definitely not order the Tonkatsu ramen there again; was it acceptable to eat: yes. But, is it something I'd enjoy eating again: no. read more

The rice looked pretty unappetizing with the stick of butter just randomly placed on, but was otherwise pretty standard. My spicy Vegas ramen had so many ingredients inside that I couldn't believe it fitted in the bowl. This gem is located in the Chinatown plaza. We arrived shortly before they reopened for dinner and waited outside. Not long after we arrived, more people showed up, and a line began to form. When they opened, we sat down in the charmingly decorated restaurant. They serve Japanese street food, and the ambiance perfectly matches the theme. The menu features a selection of delicious favorites, and we ordered ramen and yakisoba. I enjoyed watching the chef prepare our meals as he added ingredient after ingredient to each dish. When we tasted the food, it was clear that all the different flavors balanced beautifully. The yakisoba noodles were firm and absolutely delicious. The ramen was also fantastic, but the highlight was definitely the savory broth. In other ramen places, I usually leave some broth untouched, but this was the opposite--I devoured the broth as if I hadn't eaten in days. On top of the delicious food, the service was excellent. The ambiance and decor here reminds me of a Japanese izakaya, and having just visited Japan, it gave us a sense of nostalgia. That being said, we were not very impressed with the food. We ordered the following: Tornado Potato - It was served... lukewarm. If something deep fried could be served at room-temp, then this is it. Also, it was served with two pieces of potato fallen off the skewer, so taking a photoworthy photo was futile (though I still did, see my uploaded photos). Rating: 1.5 out of 5. Curry Fries - This was a HUGE letdown; we expected Japanese curry sauce served with fries, but instead the sauce is 99% kewpie mayo/1% dash of curry powder on top. Rating: 1 out of 5 Veggie Gyoza - Out of all the appetizer we ordered, this was passable. Tasted like standard gyoza and was cooked the way gyoza should be. Rating: 4 out of 5. It's ok,not the best in Las Vegas but if you need ramen late at night till 1:30 am, they're open. We had the chicken fried rice, which was surprising the best part of our meal. The touch of curry powder really enhances the fried rice with some spice. The chicken wasn't dry and the fried rice wasn't clumpy. The ramen itself though, was kind of lackluster. Compared to Monta Ramen and Kobo Ramen, the broth isn't really that flavorful or luscious. The Tonkotsu was rich but not salty at all, and the shoyu ramen definitely had a soy sauce flavor, but that's it. The lack of complexity makes it hard for me to recommend coming here any more often than just if no one else is open. read more

Do not order the ramen here. The broth was unpleasant and smelled strongly off--similar to a bathroom odor. It was so off-putting that I could not finish the dish. This suggests poor cleaning or sanitation of equipment. If a place named Ramen Show cannot get the ramen right, it does not inspire confidence in the rest of the menu. Such a hidden gem! Went here my wonderful family with a full table of 9 including 2 kids and a baby with a stroller. It was a kinda late dinner with minimal seatings. All tables were filled and hard to accommodate such a big party. The restaurant is on the smaller side as well. Picked up a couple of their tonkotsu shio ramen and an order of the yaki chashu for dinner last night. Only regret is not having checked them out sooner, as everything was excellent! The woman that took my phone order was nice and she wrote down the order perfectly. No green onions in my ramen, crispy onion on the side. Everything was packaged nicely and survived the drive home. The tonkotsu broth was diiiiivine! Has a nice garlicky flavor that doesn't take away/overpower the tonkotsu flavor. Totally unique and ever-so slurpable. The noodles were perfectly cooked as well.
