Stopped here tonight with the family. It was my first time here and I must say this place was amazing. My compadre was the one who showed me this place and we decided to finally try it tonight. The food: 1000/1000 we went with the gold option and it was amazing. So many wonderful cuts of Waygu beef and the recommendations from our server were great: we also had the sides and I must say the Waygu burger was so good, I can see why it would run out really fast. The deserts were so good and lots of amazing options. I enjoyed the unlimited beverages as well. Service: top notch service, our server was Tyler and he went above and beyond for our party. He made sure our experience was an excellent one. He was kind, courteous and you can tell he takes pride in his work. The inside was very nice and clean, this used to be another restaurant back in the days so it was nice to come back to my old stepping grounds. Drove over 60 miles to come here and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Tyler for the hospitality.

Chubby Cattle is a place of variety, indulgence and quality, a good treat. You can eat self prepared BBQ meats and refreshing sushi options at the same time. Obviously the quality is great, they have many premium options including waygu beef all you can eat. The service was good from our host, positive attitude and welcoming, until he started to mention their membership and if we wanted to join five times after saying no. Earlier we called to get information before arriving and they can't even have a staff member answer the call, an AI bot was struggling to assist and answer our questions. Everything is ordered on a tablet. The amount of self service at this restaurant is nauseating, considering the price to dine in. You can order every 7 minutes until time is up. Ambiance is active and the upbeat music playlist is about at a medium volume. The experience is streamlined to get you in and out, I was not a fan of the constant badgering to join their membership, especially at checkout. There is an egregious amount of self service that could be handled by staff, for the price range, having everyone run around each other to grab drinks and grab items from the cold bar and other self service areas is strange. Located on the first floor by Target at the Topanga mall, parking in the structure.

I got the gold tier, it was a nice option to try the "tasting experience" as it was our first time, but honestly could have done without it. This place is more on the pricier side, but for the silver tier, it's a solid opt. There were a few items on the menu that we tried that we did not like at all, it had to be taken away lol but there were a lot of items we did enjoy! Our server nick was knowledgeable and friendly. This is a type of restaurant where you order through the tablet and the food comes to your table, the server does come around often to check in on you and to change the grills. Jasper was also really good at taking away any of our empty/ dirty dishes every time he dropped off food. When I first arrived, I was trying to get the host attention so that I could get checked in but she is not welcoming and bit rude. She is constantly looking down at her tablet then walking away. Then just calls whoever is next on the tablet, not acknowledging anyone new coming in! Me and another guest were so confused we had to flag her down to get checked in which is so odd. I've never been to a restaurant where a host made us feel like we are an inconvenience to her!! Anyway,after we did check in, we had to wait another 20 mins or so for our table to be ready. Lowkey being added to the wait yourself vs reservation seems like the same wait time which defeats the purpose of a reservation.

As a huge fan of Chubby Cattle, I am incredibly disappointed to say that this specific location has been a miss ever since it opened. I've given it three chances now, and each visit has been a poor experience. After my most recent visit, I felt compelled to finally write a review. We ordered the highest tier (Diamond), expecting a premium experience, but our server, Kai, was completely rude and unprofessional. Throughout the night, he barely checked on us or cleared our plates. Instead, he repeatedly approached our table just to scold us about having only 30 minutes left. When last call approached, we placed a larger order to wrap up our meal. Kai came over and lectured us about the size of the order, warning us that we would have to pay for leftovers even though we ended up finishing absolutely everything. When we tried to put in one final item before the system even shut down, he arbitrarily told us he was canceling it because we "couldn't order anymore." It is incredibly frustrating to be paying customers spending over $600, only to be spoken to so disrespectfully about ordering food during valid service hours. To top it off, after dropping off the check and taking our payment, we went to get dessert. Kai approached us yet again and told us we needed to leave, essentially kicking us out of the restaurant. We've been to so many Chubby concepts and never have once been treated like this.

We've been here a total of two times and each time has been amazing! We had Nick and Kai serving us and they've been amazing. Always checking in on us, making sure we get the best service, and just vibed with them. They're so easy to chat up. It's more expensive than your AYCE experience but it's really worth it especially for special occasions. It's a sit down upscale JBBQ spot and while I love their meats, I think about their lobster roll, Wagyu slider, and carpaccio the most alongside their unlimited milk tea and egg tarts. Next time we come, we hope we get to run into Nick and Kai again! They both work really hard and the quality of their service definitely shows.

I love k bbq but this was a different experience than most others! The meat is so fresh. Love that Yu can see them prep it. The sides are all self serve and have many options from soups to fruits. Your price includes a drink and desserts as well. Besides the meats, the wagyu burger was delicious! Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly . Ordering is self done on a tablet. It was loud and busy. So can tell it's good food! For a place like this I expect ut to be loud.

We were here a couple months ago, and tonight we are back to celebrate my hubby's birthday...and yes, I'm happy happy to say service is 100% on point, super nice and helpful. I also learned tonight, just in case if you were wondering...On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays it is only Walk-In no reservations...wait time varies, but Mon thru Thursday you can make reservations and also do walk-in's. We still love the choices from the digital menu, and totally enjoyed the birthday jingle surprise!! OH! I love love their Earl Grey roll cake!! I had 2 slices!! (Gasp)! It's totally fun inside! I love the interior designs.

Delicious food and stellar service! Absolutely worth the wait and the price. This was my first time dining at Chubby Cattle, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. There's a variety of meat to choose from, from rich and savory wagyu to thinner briskets. All meat is very high quality cuts, taste amazing even without sauce. The sushi was just OK to me. Some of the rice was undercooked and so randomly crunchy in some parts, and the taste of the fish was just acceptable. The hand rolls were pretty good, though. Love the assortment of sides and appetizers to choose from, and the self service drinks, salads, desserts, and sides. There's even dim sum! And the slushies are so good. I actually didn't like the milk tea much, too creamy and sweet for me, but YMMV. There's just so much to eat and drink here, and the portions are just right. Loved the ambiance and the service. The only drawback was the wait time (quite long on a weekend for lunch) and the fact that it got super smoky in the area we sat. Even the restrooms were noticeably smoky. However, our table and others in the area were moved to a section with significantly better ventilation. It seems like ventilation could be a recurring issue here, but they also seem to be aware of it and can shift your table somewhere better if it gets too smoky. Overall, highly recommend this place!

Chubby Cattle in Woodland Hills, located inside the Westfield Topanga Mall, is a super fun and elevated Korean BBQ-style experience featuring Japanese wagyu. It's easy to get to, on the bottom floor, next to Target. It gets super busy, so make sure to go super early to put your name down. Oh! And make sure you come hungry. The atmosphere is modern, lively, and upscale compared to your typical KBBQ. You're given a set dining time, and there's also a 7-minute window in which you can place each order, which can feel a little stressful at first since you're trying to decide, order, cook, and eat all at once. I took a few pictures but we probably had 30 more plates and with the time constraints, it was hard! We went with the Silver Tier, and it was amazing. The quality of the meat was excellent, especially the Japanese wagyu, which was rich, tender, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered tasted high quality and well worth it. There's also a walk-up area where you can grab extras like fresh vegetables, curry, soup, corn/sweet potato with cheese, desserts, and even a wagyu hamburger, which we heard was delicious. The milk teas were also really good and a nice pairing with the meal. The experience can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but our server Tyler was incredible. He helped us put in our first order, gave great recommendations, and made sure we understood how everything worked. His attentiveness really made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, Chubby Cattle is a unique, high-quality wagyu BBQ experience that's definitely worth trying. Just be ready for a fast-paced start - and if you get Tyler, you're in great hands! We'll definitely be back! **Tip** Sign up for their yearly membership. The initial cost and what you save pays for itself.

Chubby Cattle is beautifully decorated, well serviced, and has delicious food. I probably won't go again. The good - all the food was fresh with plenty of variety. Buffet options were great too. There a rice machine that serves exactly the amount of rice you want, like R2D2 scooping your portion. I really liked the wagu stew and all the meats. I would skip the sushi. The bad - the dining experience, while fun, was not relaxing at all. There is a timer that counts down like a game show, ticking time bomb. When the timer finishes, you order your limited number of dishes and the timer stars again. It feels like a game show to maximize your orders rather than tasting a variety of beautifully aged fatty meats. The restaurant itself is clean but very congested. I would recommend checking it out, but I'll be making return trips to the chubby cattle in Vegas

I was so impressed by the selection of food options there was a huge variety and i love that they had seafood options too. It was so cool to be able to choose buffet style for the side dishes. The quality of the meat was amazing. I have never experienced everything like this. We went a little late but they also took a long time to sear us so we were unable to enjoy the experience to the full extent. It seemed like they wanted us to leave in a hurry. For the price it would've been worth if we had more time.

The place has a casual ambiance that is good for family and friends. They have three tiers of AYCE and I always get the gold tier because I feel like it has great value. Their salt is very unique and pairs well with the meat. We loves the thin-sliced beef tongue, A5 Brisket, and miso beef. We waited about 25-30 minutes on a Friday evening. This location is in the mall across from Target. They also have a bar where you can get milk tea, desserts, kimchi, fruits, and condiments, among other things.

We were lucky enough to get an invite to their soft opening inside of the mall and I am so glad we were able to. Service was on point today as they were definitely trying to impress for the first day. Tyler was our service and he was great, extremely personable and attentive to us. We went with the gold tier which is honestly pricey but a great deal for the quality and amount of AYCE wagyu meats you can get. Beautiful self service bar with so many unique and staple sides, vegetable bar, drinks, desserts, and soft serve. Literally any you could think of they have for you. What made me decide to try this place over going to competitor is the outstanding reviews from such a short time being opened..While the wait was long, I can definitely say that it's worth it. Also it's a brand new opening so a wait is expected. Everyone I met was so (and genuinely) nice. I honestly felt like the entire experience was premium from beginning to end. I met my sever Tyler and he was just wonderful. He was so kind and when I asked him for recs, he was excited to take over and put in his suggestions. He went above and beyond and helped me cook my meat, and made sure I was happy with the flavor and quality, and consistently checked on me (and the rest of his patrons). Do yourself a favor and do not forget to order: M8-9 Chuck Eye With Chubby Srirachi, the A5 Wagyu Fois Gras sushi, and the A5 Wagyu Uni Caviar Nigiri. The diamond tier is definitely a premium price but I think worth it considering the experience and quality. While TikTok reviews have mentioned to try the Wagyu curry and minced Wagyu, I wasn't a big fan of either (I'm not judging it because the quality was good. I just know that I have an unpopular opinion and aversion of big onion pieces in my food lol). The Xiao long Bao was nothing to write home about (but as an included side dish, I'm not complaining. We're literally here for the meat). The lobster dumpling was cool. I didn't want to focus too much on the side dishes but I did try the kimchi and while I personally think it needs more spice, I enjoyed the vinegary taste cutting through the melty Wagyu. I honestly was going to leave before trying the desert but I had remembered that they have mille crepe cake slices. I had the chocolate one ..and I honestly regret not trying the vanilla one as well. The chocolate version was at a perfect temperature, the chocolate was so smooth but not overwhelmingly sweet, and I believe it might have been Belgian chocolate (correct me if I'm wrong). Literally the perfect ending to my meal. I'm bringing my friends here. Thank you for the wonderful dinner. Oh and I *seriously* need to know where I can purchase a whole Mille crepe cake (or at least purchase slices to go) read more

Shout out to Tyler who was our server for the night, and he was very knowledgeable and super friendly. He broke down the meat selections,and explained each tier to us in the most simplest way possible. We were able to get started some of the best meat selections right away. We went with the gold tier because we felt it had the best of what we wanted. Ended the night with a surprise birthday celebration from Tyler and the chubby cattle crew. Obsessed with this experience at Chubby Cattle Topanga The food was obviously amazing (everything was so fresh and flavorful), but what really made the night was the service. Our server, Lewis, was phenomenal -- super attentive, friendly, and just had the best energy. He even helped grill some of our meats for us, which made everything feel so easy and elevated. He also made great conversation and genuinely made us feel taken care of the entire time. Our first time at Chubby Cattle and it was awesome! We had a good server, Joseph. He walked us through how to order via the screen. He also came by multiple times to let us know how much time we had left. We definitely felt like we were taken care of. The food itself was really great quality! The meats in the silver tier were great, even though it was the intro tier. All of the salad bar items were also good. The curry was delicious! Only compliant i have is that the AC was not working when we went. The grills on the table made the restaurant extremely hot. read more

Went for my birthday on a Thursday at 6pm -- perfect timing because we didn't have to wait! I love this place, which is why I'm a Chubby Plus member (free Silver meal!), but my wife and I still upgraded to Gold because the specials are totally worth it. Our server, Alyssa, was amazing and so helpful. Ordering and cooking can get a little overwhelming, but she made everything easy and was incredibly friendly. We've been to the Rowland Heights location several times but it was our first time at the Woodland Hills location which is significantly closer to where we live. When we came, their a/c was broken which slightly dampened the experience, but the staff was transparent from the beginning and tried to accommodate us as much as possible (we asked to move tables to a slightly cooler area than where we were originally seated. The food was good, as always, so no complaints there. Our server, Cid, was great and the food came quickly. We had a bit of an issue with our membership and being able to apply a free birthday meal, but this was out of the staff's control and they tried to resolve as quickly as they could. read more

This place was great! I loved the blend of technology and food, such a fun, modern experience. There are tons of options, and it feels perfect for groups of any size. I have a feeling it's going to get really busy soon; we went during the soft opening and it was already packed. We did the Silver Package ($55 all-you-can-eat) and focused mostly on the beef options, but there's a huge selection of seafood/sushi and pork too. I really appreciated that they don't nickel-and-dime you, beverages, soup, salad, and dessert are all included. High-quality meat and great value. Service was excellent as well. I came here on the first day of opening. I arrived 6 minutes into opening and there was already a 30min wait so I would suggest arriving early if you are walk up. Unfortunately unlike other reviews, my server did not cook any meat for me not even my specialty meat selection. But he was still pretty good and the entire staff is very good at taking the used dishes off the tables. The location was very clean and I felt like they were able to fit a decent selection of drinks/sides for the footprint from the previous location restraunt. The meats were all very good. I especially liked the strawberry slushi as it tasted like a sour belt candy. The steam egg was also tasty as it has good texture and shrimp/mushrooms inside (and maybe a little miso flavor?). read more

5 star service and very friendly staff. Easy parking in the structure. 1 star for the food. Within an hour of leaving tonight (Christmas eve) I have horrible food poisoning. The tastiest dishes here were actually the seafood options and that says a lot, considering how heavily the A5 wagyu offerings are advertised as the standout feature that sets this place apart from typical all you can eat restaurants. However, the higher end meats are limited to one round depending on which option you choose (Gold or Diamond). Priced at $75 and $85, the cost is somewhat offset by the $58 annual membership, which saves you about $20 per visit. That being said, with all the emphasis on A5 wagyu but only really being able to sample it due to the serving size and limits, I was left a little underwhelmed. This, along with the self-serve aspect of the restaurant, added to my overall disappointment. The one redeeming aspect of my visit was the service. Kent, our server, was very attentive and personable, making a genuine effort to get to know us and our palates. He went out of his way to offer recommendations and was very thorough in explaining the menu and pairing options. I truly appreciated his efforts to make my first visit to a Chubby Cattle location memorable. read more

We will not return, and we will be informing our senior center and community. Seniors deserve honesty and respect, not deceptive practices.

This is a good spot if you are interested in trying out some middle eastern style food. Falafels are not bad, they can be a bit crispier and cooked thoroughly inside. Flavors are simple. The sauce can improve as the mayonnaise is strong in it. I ordered with double the meat and got the same amount as usual. Maybe they forgot but at $8.99 as a charge I think it's rather unfair. That's why I dinged them one star. Service is fast. Haven't ever sat inside but looks casual and chill. Hopefully next time they don't forget.

I don't usually run to Yelp after a meal, but Chubby Cattle in Topanga deserves every word -- mostly because of Nicole, who completely made our night. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- brand new, spotless, and buzzing with that "freshly opened" energy. But if you get seated in Nicole's section? Your night is already off to a perfect start. This girl was handling multiple tables at once (seriously, it was packed) and never missed a beat. She's effortlessly funny and personable, but also knows exactly when to be professional. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does - she walked us through the menu like she's been running this place for years, gave spot-on recommendations (everything we tried was fire), and checked in at the perfect times -never hovering, never disappearing. I also noticed some tables were being encouraged to sign up for memberships, which can feel... a little pushy. Nicole, however, was completely the opposite - laid-back, nonchalant, and never made me feel like I had to get one. Honestly, her vibe made me think, "Yeah, maybe I should," without ever feeling pressured. Who wants to feel forced into a membership? Exactly. And here's the thing: good service is one thing, but good service with personality? That's magic. Nicole has that rare ability to make you feel genuinely cared for, like you're being hosted by someone who actually enjoys your company. As for the food - the AYCE Wagyu was incredible, of course, but Nicole's service honestly made it next-level. She turned a delicious meal into a full experience. I recently visited Chubby Cattle at the mall, and it's clear why it's so popular--there's always a line before it even opens! The wait time can be quite long, especially if you don't arrive early. On my first visit on December 6th, 2025, we waited around two hours. The host, who wears glasses, warned us that we might not make it in before they closed because it was so busy. Luckily, we managed to get a table just ten minutes before they stopped seating, which didn't give us much time, but thankfully, our server was fantastic. They made sure our meal went smoothly despite the time crunch. One issue I faced was with the host's referral code. She suggested that using her code would get us in faster, so each person in my group signed up using her code. We ended up giving her around 2,000 points, which felt shady because she could've just asked us to create accounts instead of implying it was necessary for quicker seating. I noticed she did this with other families as well. On my second visit, things went more smoothly, and we had more time to enjoy the experience. The restaurant is quite large and kept very clean. I noticed that a lot of the meats are very fatty; I wish there were more marinated options since the ones they offer don't have much sauce. The ordering system is interesting but could be easier to read, as it's filled with cartoon pictures. The sides were tasty, though I would love to see more variety. One of the best parts of our visit was our server, Tyler. He was energetic, attentive, and extremely helpful, ensuring we had a great time. While Chubby Cattle is on the pricier side, it's worth a try for the bustling atmosphere and good food. Beware the wait time...I visited your restaurant with a party of six to celebrate two birthdays and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. Our quoted wait extended to 3.5 hours, and while the front desk staff were initially pleasant, their attitude became increasingly dismissive as time passed. Despite being first on the Yelp waitlist, multiple smaller parties were seated ahead of us. Although I mentioned several times that we were willing to split the group if needed, no one proactively communicated options, and we continued waiting for a six-person table. In the end, we were seated at an undersized table where we were crowded and uncomfortable , and we ultimately had to split into two tables anyway. This lack of communication and care made the experience unnecessarily stressful, especially during a birthday celebration. However, our server, Nessie, completely turned the evening around. His professionalism, attentiveness, humor and genuinely warm demeanor made a significant difference. He checked on us consistently, anticipated our needs, and ensured that every part of the meal went smoothly despite the rocky start. His exceptional service brought comfort and positivity to what would have otherwise been a very frustrating night. Food was amazing and our server Kevin made the experience even better. My boyfriend and I were trying to find a place for a last minute anniversary dinner and knew we would only be eating for a short time due to arriving so late (we came close to last call) and Kevin helped us so much with the menu and making sure we were able to finish our time with our bellies full. He had really good recommendations as well, the strip loin has easily become my favorites dish on the whole menu (but it is not included in the all you can eat menu). For the food: Otoro and short rib from the special menu are easily my favorites from the specials. The meats are great and they have a solid choice of seafood options and sushi as well. I wasn't expecting the sushi to be as good as it was too, tasting good and is a solid options as well for me (I usually only get salmon so I'm not familiar with the other fish. I do want to note that a chunk of the options are wagyu and so can be really fatty. I personally love this but do want those who don't particularly like fatty meats to look over the menu and see if they have options you would prefer before coming! All in all, amazing service, and the self serve bar has a good selection between deserts, extra hot foods, cold foods, and some good drink such as the milk tea. Where do I begin? We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told the wait would be a little over an hour long. That wasn't a problem, but when our table was ready, we had to wait over 30 minutes inside even though they said we were all set. Once seated, the waiter only came to our table once to greet himself. We watched him serve and help cook at the surrounding tables, but we were left unattended for the duration of our meal. Not only that, but we never got a grill change, and they didn't bring us three plates of meat that we ordered. On top of this, the quality of the meat was definitely not as advertised. It was chewy at best. I really wanted to love this place, but for the price, I expected much better service and food quality. The sushi was decent, but that's honestly about it. Even the desserts were inedible. The egg tarts were so overcooked that they were practically like scrambled eggs in a burnt pie crust. The hostess was rude when we reminded her our table was ready, the waiter was absent, and we didn't even get what we ordered. We left feedback to the shift lead, but there was no offer of compensation whatsoever; just a halfhearted apology. Save yourself the time and money and dine elsewhere. read more

If you're a fan of food in general, this place is rad. Been to a different location, so I was hoping this closer location would be good too. And the food is just as good. The variety is wild. Quality is great. But the service is genuinely awesome. The staff were friendly and professional. Cid (our server) made the dinner even better than our last. He explained everything to us and is such a sweet guy. He suggested everything we needed to help us get what we were looking for from the meal. So thank you, Cid, for the great experience! First off want to start by saying I had a huge group come in with me there was 10 of us. Our server was on it, great at explaining. He kinda looked like Bryce hall, he killed it but went overkill with the membership pitch. Im sure they want their servers to keep pushing for us to buy a membership however it's very sleezy. Felt like I was being pushed into buying a timeshare. He does end it by saying well it's your loss! Nice way to treat customers before leaving a fat tip! Stop pushing memberships, patrons come to eat not feel bad for not signing up for yet another money grab. Seafood Quality wasn't great, salmon and yellowtail were subpar. Beef was great. Front house hostess seem in experienced, they have rude demeanors and aren't very great at making you feel like you're being taken care of. We asked how long it would take and there wasn't even an explanation as to why it would take a certain amount of time. They need better training or just getter better staff. read more

Tyler was an excellent server. We were new to this kind of service and he helped us figure it and taught us some techniques when it came to how to grill the meets. The premium meats were the best - sooooo delicious! Felt like such a premium experience - very cool theme to the restaurant. On the downside it felt weird that the fire alarm went off towards the end of our meal and it was brushed off as something that tends to happen due to all the grilled meat smoke. And the notification system was a little wonky since we saw our name disappear from the list in the front, but still hadn't received the our table is ready text. it was all fine though and they assured us they were just cleaning the table and we were about to sit. Its a new place so hopefully they work out the kinks soon. Overall though excellent place to come - probably ideal for a group of 4. Delicious food - friendly service. First time at Chubby Cattle's topanga location. Their food is top notch, very high quality meat. If you have preference of meats as well, they have a great selection. We had the pleasure of being helped by Kent, Nick, and Jamie. All of them were very knowledgeable and helped us out immensely. Kent helped teach us about each meat, their flavoring and how to cook each one, even helped cook it for us at times! Nick was very friendly, walked us through all the benefits of a membership with them which we also signed up for. Jamie was giving us quick and thorough service, making sure to clear our plates and always being present. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. It is a clean restaurant that has easy ordering screens. It also has an amazing self service bar with all your sides and fruits and drinks and more! We got there early than usual for lunch to avoid the lines (since it's a new branch) but to our surprise, there was no line so we got inside right away. By the way we went there on a weekday lunch. Our server was 'Alyssa' and she was so so nice to check on us. She even recommended some meats and boyyyyy they were so so good and fresh. We have our toddler with us and since there was a self-service station, he was able to eat something. The portions were really good cause we were able to try most, if not all, of the meats in the silver tier. Since I am a sweet tooth, it's a plus that they have an ice cream station and a milk tea station. The ambiance is nice cause they have a playlist that's pleasing to the ears unlike other ayce bbqs that play loud kpop songs that makes you feel like you are in a rush (iykyk) The place is clean and I hope it continues to be clean cause we don't mind going back and splurge. read more
