Stopped here tonight with the family. It was my first time here and I must say this place was amazing. My compadre was the one who showed me this place and we decided to finally try it tonight. The food: 1000/1000 we went with the gold option and it was amazing. So many wonderful cuts of Waygu beef and the recommendations from our server were great: we also had the sides and I must say the Waygu burger was so good, I can see why it would run out really fast. The deserts were so good and lots of amazing options. I enjoyed the unlimited beverages as well. Service: top notch service, our server was Tyler and he went above and beyond for our party. He made sure our experience was an excellent one. He was kind, courteous and you can tell he takes pride in his work. The inside was very nice and clean, this used to be another restaurant back in the days so it was nice to come back to my old stepping grounds. Drove over 60 miles to come here and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Tyler for the hospitality.

Chubby Cattle is a place of variety, indulgence and quality, a good treat. You can eat self prepared BBQ meats and refreshing sushi options at the same time. Obviously the quality is great, they have many premium options including waygu beef all you can eat. The service was good from our host, positive attitude and welcoming, until he started to mention their membership and if we wanted to join five times after saying no. Earlier we called to get information before arriving and they can't even have a staff member answer the call, an AI bot was struggling to assist and answer our questions. Everything is ordered on a tablet. The amount of self service at this restaurant is nauseating, considering the price to dine in. You can order every 7 minutes until time is up. Ambiance is active and the upbeat music playlist is about at a medium volume. The experience is streamlined to get you in and out, I was not a fan of the constant badgering to join their membership, especially at checkout. There is an egregious amount of self service that could be handled by staff, for the price range, having everyone run around each other to grab drinks and grab items from the cold bar and other self service areas is strange. Located on the first floor by Target at the Topanga mall, parking in the structure.

I got the gold tier, it was a nice option to try the "tasting experience" as it was our first time, but honestly could have done without it. This place is more on the pricier side, but for the silver tier, it's a solid opt. There were a few items on the menu that we tried that we did not like at all, it had to be taken away lol but there were a lot of items we did enjoy! Our server nick was knowledgeable and friendly. This is a type of restaurant where you order through the tablet and the food comes to your table, the server does come around often to check in on you and to change the grills. Jasper was also really good at taking away any of our empty/ dirty dishes every time he dropped off food. When I first arrived, I was trying to get the host attention so that I could get checked in but she is not welcoming and bit rude. She is constantly looking down at her tablet then walking away. Then just calls whoever is next on the tablet, not acknowledging anyone new coming in! Me and another guest were so confused we had to flag her down to get checked in which is so odd. I've never been to a restaurant where a host made us feel like we are an inconvenience to her!! Anyway,after we did check in, we had to wait another 20 mins or so for our table to be ready. Lowkey being added to the wait yourself vs reservation seems like the same wait time which defeats the purpose of a reservation.

As a huge fan of Chubby Cattle, I am incredibly disappointed to say that this specific location has been a miss ever since it opened. I've given it three chances now, and each visit has been a poor experience. After my most recent visit, I felt compelled to finally write a review. We ordered the highest tier (Diamond), expecting a premium experience, but our server, Kai, was completely rude and unprofessional. Throughout the night, he barely checked on us or cleared our plates. Instead, he repeatedly approached our table just to scold us about having only 30 minutes left. When last call approached, we placed a larger order to wrap up our meal. Kai came over and lectured us about the size of the order, warning us that we would have to pay for leftovers even though we ended up finishing absolutely everything. When we tried to put in one final item before the system even shut down, he arbitrarily told us he was canceling it because we "couldn't order anymore." It is incredibly frustrating to be paying customers spending over $600, only to be spoken to so disrespectfully about ordering food during valid service hours. To top it off, after dropping off the check and taking our payment, we went to get dessert. Kai approached us yet again and told us we needed to leave, essentially kicking us out of the restaurant. We've been to so many Chubby concepts and never have once been treated like this.

We've been here a total of two times and each time has been amazing! We had Nick and Kai serving us and they've been amazing. Always checking in on us, making sure we get the best service, and just vibed with them. They're so easy to chat up. It's more expensive than your AYCE experience but it's really worth it especially for special occasions. It's a sit down upscale JBBQ spot and while I love their meats, I think about their lobster roll, Wagyu slider, and carpaccio the most alongside their unlimited milk tea and egg tarts. Next time we come, we hope we get to run into Nick and Kai again! They both work really hard and the quality of their service definitely shows.

I love k bbq but this was a different experience than most others! The meat is so fresh. Love that Yu can see them prep it. The sides are all self serve and have many options from soups to fruits. Your price includes a drink and desserts as well. Besides the meats, the wagyu burger was delicious! Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly . Ordering is self done on a tablet. It was loud and busy. So can tell it's good food! For a place like this I expect ut to be loud.

We were here a couple months ago, and tonight we are back to celebrate my hubby's birthday...and yes, I'm happy happy to say service is 100% on point, super nice and helpful. I also learned tonight, just in case if you were wondering...On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays it is only Walk-In no reservations...wait time varies, but Mon thru Thursday you can make reservations and also do walk-in's. We still love the choices from the digital menu, and totally enjoyed the birthday jingle surprise!! OH! I love love their Earl Grey roll cake!! I had 2 slices!! (Gasp)! It's totally fun inside! Delicious food and stellar service! Absolutely worth the wait and the price. This was my first time dining at Chubby Cattle, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. There's a variety of meat to choose from, from rich and savory wagyu to thinner briskets. All meat is very high quality cuts, taste amazing even without sauce. The sushi was just OK to me. Some of the rice was undercooked and so randomly crunchy in some parts, and the taste of the fish was just acceptable. The hand rolls were pretty good, though. Love the assortment of sides and appetizers to choose from, and the self service drinks, salads, desserts, and sides. There's even dim sum! And the slushies are so good. I actually didn't like the milk tea much, too creamy and sweet for me, but YMMV. There's just so much to eat and drink here, and the portions are just right. Loved the ambiance and the service. The only drawback was the wait time (quite long on a weekend for lunch) and the fact that it got super smoky in the area we sat. Even the restrooms were noticeably smoky. However, our table and others in the area were moved to a section with significantly better ventilation. It seems like ventilation could be a recurring issue here, but they also seem to be aware of it and can shift your table somewhere better if it gets too smoky. Overall, highly recommend this place!

Chubby Cattle in Woodland Hills, located inside the Westfield Topanga Mall, is a super fun and elevated Korean BBQ-style experience featuring Japanese wagyu. It's easy to get to, on the bottom floor, next to Target. It gets super busy, so make sure to go super early to put your name down. Oh! And make sure you come hungry. The atmosphere is modern, lively, and upscale compared to your typical KBBQ. You're given a set dining time, and there's also a 7-minute window in which you can place each order, which can feel a little stressful at first since you're trying to decide, order, cook, and eat all at once. I took a few pictures but we probably had 30 more plates and with the time constraints, it was hard! We went with the Silver Tier, and it was amazing. The quality of the meat was excellent, especially the Japanese wagyu, which was rich, tender, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered tasted high quality and well worth it. There's also a walk-up area where you can grab extras like fresh vegetables, curry, soup, corn/sweet potato with cheese, desserts, and even a wagyu hamburger, which we heard was delicious. The milk teas were also really good and a nice pairing with the meal. The experience can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but our server Tyler was incredible. He helped us put in our first order, gave great recommendations, and made sure we understood how everything worked. His attentiveness really made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, Chubby Cattle is a unique, high-quality wagyu BBQ experience that's definitely worth trying. Just be ready for a fast-paced start - and if you get Tyler, you're in great hands! We'll definitely be back! **Tip** Sign up for their yearly membership. The initial cost and what you save pays for itself.

Chubby Cattle is beautifully decorated, well serviced, and has delicious food. I probably won't go again. The good - all the food was fresh with plenty of variety. Buffet options were great too. There a rice machine that serves exactly the amount of rice you want, like R2D2 scooping your portion. I really liked the wagu stew and all the meats. I would skip the sushi. The bad - the dining experience, while fun, was not relaxing at all. There is a timer that counts down like a game show, ticking time bomb. When the timer finishes, you order your limited number of dishes and the timer stars again. It feels like a game show to maximize your orders rather than tasting a variety of beautifully aged fatty meats. The restaurant itself is clean but very congested. I would recommend checking it out, but I'll be making return trips to the chubby cattle in Vegas

I was so impressed by the selection of food options there was a huge variety and i love that they had seafood options too. It was so cool to be able to choose buffet style for the side dishes. The quality of the meat was amazing. I have never experienced everything like this. We went a little late but they also took a long time to sear us so we were unable to enjoy the experience to the full extent. It seemed like they wanted us to leave in a hurry. For the price it would've been worth if we had more time.

The place has a casual ambiance that is good for family and friends. They have three tiers of AYCE and I always get the gold tier because I feel like it has great value. Their salt is very unique and pairs well with the meat. We loves the thin-sliced beef tongue, A5 Brisket, and miso beef. We waited about 25-30 minutes on a Friday evening. This location is in the mall across from Target. They also have a bar where you can get milk tea, desserts, kimchi, fruits, and condiments, among other things.

We came with a group of six during their soft opening, and overall the experience was just okay--definitely not what we expected given the price point. Our total came out to about $600 for six people including gratuity, and for that amount, you'd really hope for a smooth, 5-star dining experience. One of the biggest downsides is the 90-minute dining limit, no matter the size of your party. With a larger group, 90 minutes goes by really fast, and it makes it hard to actually enjoy your time, talk, and eat without feeling rushed. Ordering is done through a TV screen next to the table, which would've been convenient if it worked well--but it lagged a lot. Not sure if this is their intended system or just a soft-opening hiccup, but it definitely slowed everything down. I've been to two other Chubby Cattle locations before, and sadly, this one ranks as my least favorite. The restaurant itself is small and crowded. We used to come here when it was Gyu-Kaku, and that setup worked because they didn't rely on a self-serve station. With the limited space Chubby Cattle has, the self-serve layout feels cramped and chaotic--something they may want to rethink. On the positive side, the meat quality was good, and the service staff were friendly. But the dining rules make things feel even more rushed: you can only order 10 items every 7 minutes, and ordering shuts down at the 70-minute mark, which is wild considering you've paid for 90 minutes. We were also approached several times about their membership program, which started to feel a bit pushy. For almost $600, we expected a more seamless, comfortable, and elevated experience. While the food and service were good, the tight space, rushed structure, and lagging technology made the visit fall short of the 5-star dining standard we were hoping for. I'm hoping things improve once they move past the soft-opening phase. read more

Ate here recently with family and friends and it was so so good. Parking// Since it is located inside topanga mall, there is ample parking. If you are just going to eat at chubby cattle I recommend parking 1st level target area (it will be a closer walk). Wait// time will vary depending on what time of day you go, or if weekday or weekend of course. Lunch is open from 12-3pm and they re-open for dinner 5pm. I went during lunch so the wait was not that bad. Food// awesome food. There are 3 levels or tiers to choose from, we picked the gold tier and the food was so bomb. Gold tier is $78/per person. Like all kbbqs, per policy, since you do share a grill with your party, each person at the table has to get the same tier. And, they have iPad/tablet for every table to send more orders for meats! (Which is such an awesome feature too). We are able to send food orders every 7 minutes. They have self serving bar as well, which includes dumplings, sauce bar, miso soup, rice & vegetables. They also have milk tea, fruit slushies and a dessert bar. It's honestly so worth the price for all the items included! Kbbq and sashimi? You can never go wrong with that! Service// Our server LEWIS was professional, friendly and informative! He offered to help pick which types of meat to choose and even assisted with cooking some of our meats! He also recommended for us to sign up for the membership! Such a great deal to be honest. Lewis was also very attentive, we never had to ask him for a grill change, he was quick to replace it often! Tried this place for the first time with a buddy. First impression was rough. I had a very tough time getting them to seat me without giving them my phone number. If I don't want to share and I'm standing there waiting for a table, that should be good enough. I had to escalate to two different managers before they said screw it and sat us. Once inside, it's dark walls and seats but bright lights. Gives us almost an internet cafe feel. Seats were awkward and I was forced to sit butted up against a weird booth with my right knee while the table stretched another foot to my right but I couldn't really use any of it. Very odd configurations throughout and a main intersection where everyone walks through. As far as meat quality and selection, 10/10. I absolutely love the taste, texture and variety of the meats they have. We tried a bunch of different meats of all quality and found them to all be incredibly delicious. What I don't like is that for 80+ per person, you still have to get everything else yourself from their community bar. This includes side dishes like kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed salad, radish papers, cheese corn, etc. This also includes more of their sauces and a dumpling bar and drinks. So what conceptually is a great idea falls short on execution by asking people to pay 80-100+ per person but not actually getting much of a server crew. Rather forcing customers to serve themselves while the wait staff walks around and helps people order meat. Just seems like a very lazy execution that puts the cooking and gathering of food on the patron rather than the servers. As far as our server, Tyda, she was awesome. I would come back JUST for her. Very sweet, accommodating and understanding. read more

From the moment we walked in this place just looks as good as the food was. Natalie was so sweet as she greeted us at the door. She patiently waited as our whole party of 7 arrived for my dad's birthday. Cid, our waiter greeted us right at the entrance as well. The meal started with a beautiful tour of the restaurant where they store their premium beautifully cut Wagyu. They even have an area where they cut their fresh tuna, albacore, and salmon. The food is incredible. So fresh, so worth it. Our server Cid made us feel like we were a part of his family. Like he wasn't just serving us, but hosting us in his own home that he's so proud of. Thank you for taking care of us! And Mariah came by at the end of the meal making a cute little memory for the kids. She really took all three and served them ice cream. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves kbbq, same but different. We came across Chubby Cattle while we were looking for kbbq in the area! They also have a lot of smaller dishes and self serve area. Special shoutout to our server Nicole, who made our first time at Chubby Cattle memorable! She was funny, attentive and recommended what we should try with little tips and tricks. I've been to a chubby cattle before and the other one was not like this. I wouldn't want to compare to little Tokyo, just because their service was also top tier. But when I tell you our waiter Lewis was amazing! Great server, he is very knowledgeable, and even though we got the silver tier, he really was knowledgeable about each tier and each meat that we ordered, how to cook it. Ambience was very chill, we were seated in a secluded area in the back, and it was very comfortable. Lots of selection if you are tight on budget, for the other tiers, but Its always worth coming to one of the newest chubby locations. Their self serve station I wish had a little bit more selection than just wagyu sliders, and some other deserts. Will have to come back for the desserts as well as the gold or diamond tier. As seniors, this was upsetting and felt like an attempt to take advantage of us. The sudden reversal, the refusal to honor their own employee's guidance, and the dismissive attitude were unacceptable. We immediately left without ordering. We will not return, and we will be informing our senior center and community. Seniors deserve honesty and respect, not deceptive practices.

I told him I would pay for the coffee and I would leave. He said don't worry about the coffee. I didn't even finish my coffee I set it down and left. We just heated the pizza up a bit in the oven when we got home. We got the marg and it was chef's kiss. Next time we want to get double cheese though so we can have cheese in every bite. And the sourghdough crust is SOOOOO good. The owner was so nice too! Easy 5 stars!!

I don't usually run to Yelp after a meal, but Chubby Cattle in Topanga deserves every word -- mostly because of Nicole, who completely made our night. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- brand new, spotless, and buzzing with that "freshly opened" energy. But if you get seated in Nicole's section? Your night is already off to a perfect start. This girl was handling multiple tables at once (seriously, it was packed) and never missed a beat. She's effortlessly funny and personable, but also knows exactly when to be professional. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does - she walked us through the menu like she's been running this place for years, gave spot-on recommendations (everything we tried was fire), and checked in at the perfect times -never hovering, never disappearing. I also noticed some tables were being encouraged to sign up for memberships, which can feel... a little pushy. Nicole, however, was completely the opposite - laid-back, nonchalant, and never made me feel like I had to get one. Honestly, her vibe made me think, "Yeah, maybe I should," without ever feeling pressured. Who wants to feel forced into a membership? Exactly. And here's the thing: good service is one thing, but good service with personality? That's magic. Nicole has that rare ability to make you feel genuinely cared for, like you're being hosted by someone who actually enjoys your company. As for the food - the AYCE Wagyu was incredible, of course, but Nicole's service honestly made it next-level. She turned a delicious meal into a full experience. By the end, it felt like we'd been coming here for years. If management reads this: seriously, don't sleep on Nicole. She's the kind of server who should be promoted yesterday -- a natural leader, fast, smart, personable. Hang onto her, invest in her, give her the recognition she deserves. I recently visited Chubby Cattle at the mall, and it's clear why it's so popular--there's always a line before it even opens! The wait time can be quite long, especially if you don't arrive early. On my first visit on December 6th, 2025, we waited around two hours. The host, who wears glasses, warned us that we might not make it in before they closed because it was so busy. Luckily, we managed to get a table just ten minutes before they stopped seating, which didn't give us much time, but thankfully, our server was fantastic. They made sure our meal went smoothly despite the time crunch. One issue I faced was with the host's referral code. She suggested that using her code would get us in faster, so each person in my group signed up using her code. We ended up giving her around 2,000 points, which felt shady because she could've just asked us to create accounts instead of implying it was necessary for quicker seating. I noticed she did this with other families as well. On my second visit, things went more smoothly, and we had more time to enjoy the experience. The restaurant is quite large and kept very clean. I noticed that a lot of the meats are very fatty; I wish there were more marinated options since the ones they offer don't have much sauce. The ordering system is interesting but could be easier to read, as it's filled with cartoon pictures. The sides were tasty, though I would love to see more variety. One of the best parts of our visit was our server, Tyler. He was energetic, attentive, and extremely helpful, ensuring we had a great time. While Chubby Cattle is on the pricier side, it's worth a try for the bustling atmosphere and good food. Beware the wait time...I visited your restaurant with a party of six to celebrate two birthdays and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. Our quoted wait extended to 3.5 hours, and while the front desk staff were initially pleasant, their attitude became increasingly dismissive as time passed. Despite being first on the Yelp waitlist, multiple smaller parties were seated ahead of us. Although I mentioned several times that we were willing to split the group if needed, no one proactively communicated options, and we continued waiting for a six-person table. In the end, we were seated at an undersized table where we were crowded and uncomfortable , and we ultimately had to split into two tables anyway. This lack of communication and care made the experience unnecessarily stressful, especially during a birthday celebration. However, our server, Nessie, completely turned the evening around. His professionalism, attentiveness, humor and genuinely warm demeanor made a significant difference. He checked on us consistently, anticipated our needs, and ensured that every part of the meal went smoothly despite the rocky start. His exceptional service brought comfort and positivity to what would have otherwise been a very frustrating night. Food was amazing and our server Kevin made the experience even better. My boyfriend and I were trying to find a place for a last minute anniversary dinner and knew we would only be eating for a short time due to arriving so late (we came close to last call) and Kevin helped us so much with the menu and making sure we were able to finish our time with our bellies full. He had really good recommendations as well, the strip loin has easily become my favorites dish on the whole menu (but it is not included in the all you can eat menu). For the food: Otoro and short rib from the special menu are easily my favorites from the specials. The meats are great and they have a solid choice of seafood options and sushi as well. I wasn't expecting the sushi to be as good as it was too, tasting good and is a solid options as well for me (I usually only get salmon so I'm not familiar with the other fish. I do want to note that a chunk of the options are wagyu and so can be really fatty. I personally love this but do want those who don't particularly like fatty meats to look over the menu and see if they have options you would prefer before coming! All in all, amazing service, and the self serve bar has a good selection between deserts, extra hot foods, cold foods, and some good drink such as the milk tea. My boyfriend and I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back again! read more

Where do I begin? We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told the wait would be a little over an hour long. That wasn't a problem, but when our table was ready, we had to wait over 30 minutes inside even though they said we were all set. Once seated, the waiter only came to our table once to greet himself. We watched him serve and help cook at the surrounding tables, but we were left unattended for the duration of our meal. Not only that, but we never got a grill change, and they didn't bring us three plates of meat that we ordered. On top of this, the quality of the meat was definitely not as advertised. It was chewy at best. I really wanted to love this place, but for the price, I expected much better service and food quality. The sushi was decent, but that's honestly about it. Even the desserts were inedible. The egg tarts were so overcooked that they were practically like scrambled eggs in a burnt pie crust. The hostess was rude when we reminded her our table was ready, the waiter was absent, and we didn't even get what we ordered. We left feedback to the shift lead, but there was no offer of compensation whatsoever; just a halfhearted apology. Save yourself the time and money and dine elsewhere. read more

If you're a fan of food in general, this place is rad. Been to a different location, so I was hoping this closer location would be good too. And the food is just as good. The variety is wild. Quality is great. But the service is genuinely awesome. The staff were friendly and professional. Cid (our server) made the dinner even better than our last. He explained everything to us and is such a sweet guy. He suggested everything we needed to help us get what we were looking for from the meal. So thank you, Cid, for the great experience! We'll definitely be coming back soon because of you. Good luck in New York! And if you like these kinds of interactive, DIY, meals, this place is a top-tier version of that. So yeah. Plus Cid was also incredibly accommodating to my partner's gluten allergy, if that's something you also deal with. The membership is totally worth the $12. First off want to start by saying I had a huge group come in with me there was 10 of us. Our server was on it, great at explaining. He kinda looked like Bryce hall, he killed it but went overkill with the membership pitch. Im sure they want their servers to keep pushing for us to buy a membership however it's very sleezy. Felt like I was being pushed into buying a timeshare. He does end it by saying well it's your loss! Nice way to treat customers before leaving a fat tip! Stop pushing memberships, patrons come to eat not feel bad for not signing up for yet another money grab. Seafood Quality wasn't great, salmon and yellowtail were subpar. Beef was great. Front house hostess seem in experienced, they have rude demeanors and aren't very great at making you feel like you're being taken care of. We asked how long it would take and there wasn't even an explanation as to why it would take a certain amount of time. They need better training or just getter better staff. read more

Tyler was an excellent server. We were new to this kind of service and he helped us figure it and taught us some techniques when it came to how to grill the meets. The premium meats were the best - sooooo delicious! Felt like such a premium experience - very cool theme to the restaurant. On the downside it felt weird that the fire alarm went off towards the end of our meal and it was brushed off as something that tends to happen due to all the grilled meat smoke. And the notification system was a little wonky since we saw our name disappear from the list in the front, but still hadn't received the our table is ready text. it was all fine though and they assured us they were just cleaning the table and we were about to sit. Its a new place so hopefully they work out the kinks soon. Overall though excellent place to come - probably ideal for a group of 4. Delicious food - friendly service. First time at Chubby Cattle's topanga location. Their food is top notch, very high quality meat. If you have preference of meats as well, they have a great selection. We had the pleasure of being helped by Kent, Nick, and Jamie. All of them were very knowledgeable and helped us out immensely. Kent helped teach us about each meat, their flavoring and how to cook each one, even helped cook it for us at times! Nick was very friendly, walked us through all the benefits of a membership with them which we also signed up for. Jamie was giving us quick and thorough service, making sure to clear our plates and always being present. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. It is a clean restaurant that has easy ordering screens. It also has an amazing self service bar with all your sides and fruits and drinks and more! We got there early than usual for lunch to avoid the lines (since it's a new branch) but to our surprise, there was no line so we got inside right away. By the way we went there on a weekday lunch. Our server was 'Alyssa' and she was so so nice to check on us. She even recommended some meats and boyyyyy they were so so good and fresh. We have our toddler with us and since there was a self-service station, he was able to eat something. The portions were really good cause we were able to try most, if not all, of the meats in the silver tier. Since I am a sweet tooth, it's a plus that they have an ice cream station and a milk tea station. The ambiance is nice cause they have a playlist that's pleasing to the ears unlike other ayce bbqs that play loud kpop songs that makes you feel like you are in a rush (iykyk) The place is clean and I hope it continues to be clean cause we don't mind going back and splurge. read more
