I have had cheesesteaks and beef sandwich's from all over and some are better than others so when I saw that a chubbys was in the area I stopped for lunch. The restaurant is in between the gas station and the Indian restaurant with parking in front. The place is small and open late with a few tables spaced out. After looking at the web menu of the Philly cheesesteak that looked good with fried onions, green peppers and red peppers that's what I ordered with cheese whizz as my cheese of choice. The sandwich was done in a few minutes and the container felt light compared to other beef sandwich's that I have had. When I opened the container I was disappointed because it didn't look like their own menu picture and it looked very skimpy with a lot of open bread showing. The sandwich also had a noticeable missing item, no red peppers like the menu states. The bread was completely wrong because it was dry with a sponge like texture, maybe not fresh. The onions and green peppers were weird because some were cooked to mush and some were close to raw with a crunch. The sandwich was way dry/bready for the small amount meat and cheese that was in it. The sandwich didn't satisfy my cheesesteak crave like the last place that I had one from at all. Quality vs price vs quantity make this sandwich pricy at just under $9 when $9-10 gets you a decent sandwich around town and with frys from some places. read more

we stopped by at 1:30 am seeing how they are open till 3am and so glad we did first off prices are very reasonable especially for downtown second the good of amazing i got a chubby burger and it one of the best burgers i've ever had and im really picky about my burgers my friends got an italian beef and a mushroom and swiss cheesesteak and they were incredible and the portions were large and filling will definitely be back read more

Apathy is the best description for Chubby's in Walker's Point. First none of the staff was masked - cashier and cook. I should have walked out immediately and not ordered but I was hangry. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak it was void of flavor. It was the furthest thing from a good Philly. When you have a huge menu of options it usually is a bad sign because you can't do everything right so just pick something you do well. The service was not great and the food was bland so I doubt I will be back. I don't write many low star reviews but unfortunately Chubby's deserves this rating. read more

I didn't think I would be very impressed when I first walked in, but when they asked if I want cheese whiz on it, I took it a little more seriously. I was outstanding. Even The fries were impressive. I have ordered from Chubby's multiple times. They are open late and deliver. That's the only good thing about them. They mess up orders routinely, or will substitute stuff without communication. Wanted a burger? Nah, get a black bean veggie patty by surprise. This place relies on not having late night competition. I stopped into Chubby's to get a burger and fries. Normally, I get that from Gyro Palace which is right in the same area but since I hadn't been in Chubby's before I thought I'd give them a shot. I was wrong. It was empty of customer so I figured it would be quick. However, my order seemed to take a while and it looked like there was no activity in the kitchen. It was only when I asked " is anyone back there?" did the cashier go inquire about the food. 10 minutes later, the food was done. I heard the fries frying but I don't even think the burger was on the grill. It seems reheated. To the owners, invest in better bread. Your bread always seems stale or stiff. As an East Coast native, I have higher standards for Cheesesteaks than most Midwesterners. However, judging by your star count, even the Midwesterners don't love these. Cousin's could make a better Cheesesteak. That's sad. Get it together. This is a fantastic place. Food is just as delicious as all Chubby Cheesesteaks are. It's great to go with a friend so you can each order different cheesesteaks and then split them. Their menu is huge you can get buckets of chicken you can get burgers you can get waffles you can get what ever you want and they have so many specialty cheesesteaks too. They also serve milkshakes. I ordered via UberEats and it was my first time ordering Chubby's Cheesesteak. My only reason to order there is that it yesterday evening was the only one with "courier nearby." My first item was the "Large" Cod Plate. The 2 pieces of breaded fish were not bad. Decent fast food quality. However, the fries (that they threw over the fish) were less than the kids size at other fast food restaurants. The slaw and sauce portions were skimpy too (I paid 1.15 extra for sauce...why was there no free sauce with the fish?) I don't want to talk about the "roll." I. Do. Not. Want. To. Talk. About. The. Roll. I keep repeating "fast food" because I am willing to pay restaurant prices for restaurant quality food. But there's nothing special about this food, it's typical fast food niveau. I would still have rated at least 3 stars because not all of the food was bad, just a small portion. But then the 6.99 fried Kitkat....... the dough was very salty and also raw. Cooked on the outside, but raw on the inside. That I felt sick afterwards was my own mistake. Currently, $ is difficult and I didn't want to throw $7 away, especially as I was still hungry after the "large" Cod platter. As utensils they added 3 plastic spoons. Maybe some kind of insider joke. Meh. I've experienced better. They just used the wrong kind of bread, its almost plasticy and must be full of gluten. The prices seem a little high for what they are slinging. The service was seemingly last luster. The location, in a gas station parking lot, doesn't lend itself to a place I would find myself eating at twice, unless I absolutely had to. This is my first time to write a review about a place and this is because I've never experienced such terrible and disgusting service. I ordered on doordash and I selected a Philly cheesesteak and checked steak and provolone cheese. I also added a note to include details such as "ONLY steak and cheese. No additional toppings." I come to pick up my order and I was greeted was terrible service. I took my sandwich and went to my car. I opened the sandwich and first thing I saw was the HUMONGOUS piece of black hair twisted into the meat, cheese, AND toppings such as bell peppers and onions. I went back inside and showed the girl at the register and she said "I didn't see the details so my bad." And I mentioned the big piece of human hair and she said I can't refund you. You ordered through the app and they are the middle party." I said can you remake it? She said "I was going to remake it but because of your tone I'm not going to remake it and you will have to go through the door dash app and get refunded your money." She went into the kitchen and told then unhygienic looking cook that she refused my order. And he blatantly responded to her "good job". I was in food service for 7 years and I'm shocked at this experience. I'm seriously in awe of how disgusting and disappointing people can be. Second time at this location. I ordered the 4 cheese cheesesteak, but only received 2 out of the 4(cheese wiz and provolone/or mozzarella), so it was a little dry. Had they Just told me they were out of a certain cheese (if that was the issue) I would have just added extra of the others. Tried calling, but only got a busy signal. I live 15 minutes away, so wasn't worth taking it back, especially after a late shift at work. I was the only person in there except for a drunk guy that walked in afterwards.
