Food was ok, sandwiches little sloppy. Bread was slightly on tough side. Customer service was excellent. Price was outrageous. Never paid $25. For a chicken sandwich. Might as go to McDonald's. No wonder the restaurant was empty. There were 2 other couples only. Just a highway robbery.

I thought I already left a review the last time I was here some time ago. I had found this diner while yelping around the area. The photos alone had me interested in coming by. I didn't have the Ube latte in mind at the time we visited but it was a special that was posted on their menu and their larger menu by the entrance which made me like to try it. I definitely would suggest this place as a day date place and small celebrations. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Didn't see any issues with food or anything but positive vibes They do tend to have different items the times I've came by making me want to revisit and try the next new item The Mexican Hot Chocolate was delicious and I loved how it was presented, made it taste more delicious than expected I for sure will be returning and hopefully that new option is still available. I just didn't have the sweet tooth for more sweets than the hot chocolate at the time and opt for a meat selection and soup PS I'm coming back to try the Ube French toast

This place was pretty cool. The chilaquiles were really flavorful, the only thing missing was beans. Everything else was good too. Would come back

10.50 for this kids cereal LOL!

Cereal is way overpriced in the kids menu. $10.50 for a small bowl. Looks are deceiving on the menu, they make it look like a certain way and you expect a different outcome. Waiter didn't give any heads up on the menu. And then when came asking her about the cereal situation, she didn't even care and didn't try to fix the situation. They just take your money and don't give a crap. Never coming back, no wonder it's a 3 star. CRAPPY service and my fish & chips were dry .

Came here again because we were hungry and it has good portion of meal. Service is fast and friendly. Interior is like 70's era. A typical diner. I would definitely come back again. You should try it.

The place is narrow, with a long counter running down the length of it and additional seating tucked away in the back. Grab a seat at the counter and the grill is literally right on the other side, so you get a front-row seat to the action while your breakfast is being made. And honestly, the entertainment is half the experience. The cooks and wait staff are constantly joking, talking, and giving each other a hard time. Their friendly banter is so natural that I found myself wondering if this was a family-run business. Whether it is or not, they definitely have that kind of chemistry. They also seemed to know just about every regular who walked through the door. Between the conversations, laughter, open grill, and familiar faces, I couldn't help thinking I'd somehow wandered onto an episode of Cheers, only instead of sitting at the bar with a beer, I was at the counter with coffee and a seriously impressive breakfast. I ordered The Moose Omelet, and apparently the moose isn't just there for decoration. This thing is a beast. Four eggs packed with crisp bacon, linguica, sausage, ham, green onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and thin-sliced potatoes that reminded me of scalloped potatoes, all folded into the omelet and blanketed with melted cheddar cheese. Their homemade pico was delicious and went perfectly with the omelet. What I liked most about The Mangy Moose is that it doesn't feel manufactured or overly polished. It's a real neighborhood diner with character, generous food, friendly people, and the kind of atmosphere that's becoming harder and harder to find. I may have walked in as the new guy, but it definitely feels like the kind of place where, after a few visits, everybody really would know your name. I'll be back. Five stars.

Everybody is smiling and laughing and talking to the customers. The grill cooks are calling out orders with surgical precision. The clanging of the spatulas and plates sounds like music! I ordered the country fried steak with hashbrowns crispy, and pancakes on the side. You always gotta try the flapjacks at these kind of spots. Of course the pancakes were excellent. You would expect no less... hashbrowns were crispy as ordered and the CFS was on point. Crunchy outer and tender inner. The gravy could've had a little more bang (seasoning) but the overall experience was great. If you're looking for some good breakfast after sliding at the Great Wolf, this is definitely a good spot. As Ahnold would say, I'll be back!

I'm not sure how busy it gets on weekends. The coffee is always fresh, and the menu has all the classic café breakfast options you'd expect. The toast is decent, though I think trying a different bread brand could make it even better. The servers are consistently friendly and attentive. I ordered a plate of crispy hashbrowns topped with tender pulled pork, smothered in rich, creamy gravy, and sprinkled with fresh jalapeños for a perfect kick. The kalua pork was probably reheated on the griddle, kind of salty, it was meh. The biggest disappointment was the rice. It was hard. For a "Hawaiian" restaurant to not know how to cook rice is sad. Food was so much better this time around than the last time I had been there. They really must've had a bad night when I had gone previously. Small restaurant in the of a little strip mall off of Main Street. They serve classic Chinese American food and unlike most places in the Bay Area that are family style dishes preferably on a Lazy Susan during dinner time. They offer rice plates, or combo plates for individuals, similar to lunch specials. I selected several dishes and asked the server which was the most popular amongst the dishes I chose, and she let me know the salt and pepper fish, which I got with chow mein. We also ordered shrimp & broccoli, and sweet-and-sour pork. Everything appeared made to order and looked very fresh. From grandma to the babes everyone was happy with their food. Mine was more on the plain Jane with just fried fish, luckily it came with sliced jalapeños to give it a kick. Next time I'll order a spicy eggplant dish. This is a good place to go to if you're with a group of picky eaters. Price is very reasonable, especially for dinner.

7/5 /25 Update 3/5 This has been a long time coming…read moreunfortunately. Ever since the previous owners sold the place the quality has dropped significantly. Consistency has been a major issue not only with food but with policy. When they first took over I'm sure there were some learning curves and maybe tweaks to the recipes. I wanted to give them a fair shot to get things right. Not sure if the old cooks stayed or if they got new ones? Did the new owners have the recipes changed? Did they change suppliers of ingredients, etc, I just don't know. What I can tell you though is that at least some of the dishes are different and are off from what I remember. The general Tao sauce I thought tasted different but necessarily bad. But combine that with a definite lack of crisp/crunch with the fried items and that's gonna be a problem for me. This time around, I only got the general tao beef because unlike my previous visit, they did not allow me to order the general tao beef in the combo plate as in upcharge (just last week or the week before it was allowed). I've been multiple times since the change in ownership. Partly because of the convenience of the location and partly because of the hope that whatever meal I eat at any given time will at least satisfy my fix for their type of Chinese American food. Unfortunately, the fried items I loved so much like orange chicken, sweet and sour pork and general tao beef alike are all severely lacking the crunch from the fry. As of late I've been getting the General Tao Beef to track consistency and it's been consistently under cooked in terms of the batter. The beef itself has been rubbery and to the point where I can't even break apart a piece and end up having to eat it whole lots of times. The other problem is that the pieces are large inconsistently cut (sometimes with, sometimes against the grain) strips making for a difficult chew. And because of the lack of crunch the fried battered outside just falls apart when you bite or try to cut it apart. The last two visits, but especially this one considering I ordered extra crunchy, were severely undercooked and soggy. it was to the point this time where I basically had to scrape off the majority of the batter and just eat the rubbery beef inside. It really does bring me pain to drastically drop the rating of a place that I once loved. I hope one day they can make the fixes so that I can continue to enjoy their food once again. I gave them a 3/5 but honestly, it probably should have been 2/5. I think the chicken with hot garlic sauce might be just good enough to keep it at 3/5 even though the last three times I ordered it. It was inconsistently hot (with cold spots) temperature wise.

About that time, a person, later identified as Jesus C., (Manager) approached me. I again told him I knew what I wanted and promised to order and eat right away. He had no problem with that and seated me. I expressed my heartfelt thanks for his service to his customers. I immediately ordered the meatloaf dinner and a drink, which is what I was in the mood for. Anyway, long story short was that the food was great and the service was fantastic. I actually thought there was no way they would feed me, but due to a customer minded Manager, they did. One of my best experiences at a restaurant. I love BBD for breakfast or dinner. The portion size of all meals is very stisfactory and the quality of food, the same. Great experience.
