Chubby's is a gem! We came here for dinner on a Saturday and were so happy we did. As soon as we walked in we were met with warm greetings and even warmer smiles. I felt like I was a welcome addition to their cozy dining room, and we were lucky enough to have Chubby's own daughter seat us and take our drink order. In the short time she left the table two servers came over to make sure someone was getting us drinks and to see if we wanted to start with anything. We ended up getting fried pickles, which were spears and I loved that for us. Bomb. Came across this gem due to Bustin Butts BBQ being closed on Sunday. Yelp to the rescue! My mil ordered pork tenderloin sandwich but when it came out, there were tenderloins all around it and still managed to add a bun to the sandwich. I've never seen anything like it. It was Man vs Food size! My husband got the famous burger with bacon, bbq pulled pork, etc. Delicious! I got a cheeseburger. It was good and filling! Service was good. I just downloaded this app. So I'm going to leave a review from a month ago. I'd share a photo of the food but I ate it too fast. Chicken fried steak was incredible. You can cut it with a fork. The service here is a good as the food. I'm a restaurant manager from Jersey and I'm totally impressed with the authentic hospitality. Some places back home, you'll find good service but mostly it feels like a show. And that's fine. But, I don't think they are faking down here when they say y'all come back. My wife and I had lunch today (Wednesday in July) at Chubbys when the signs advised us, "eat here or we will both starve", and "home style cooking". We were very graciousmy greeted by a "Paula Deen doppelgänger" by the name of Kay, who gave us great information and Southern charm. The chicken parmigiana I ordered validated the home cooking promise and was very tasty. My wife ordered a steak that was very tender and tasty. It was cooked to perfection bit the fries were frozen and not homemad. I had a peach cobbler with both ice cream and the homemade cream Kay was sweet enough to includ. It was also quite tasty. They had many clever souvenirs that could also be purchased ( including a large statuary of "Betty Boop" that was among the many curious items. Everything has great flavor! I had the Ribeye, delicious! Flavor wise it was better than the over priced ribeye I had at Ruth Chris in Atlanta. The wife had the chicken fried chicken, mashed taters w/gravy and green beans, it was a health serving and so flavorful! Oh and the banana bread pudding was so good! Very welcoming and super kind! Delicious food. Very efficient and fast service! Generous portions!! We stopped here on our way to DollyWood. We were in and out in about 30 minutes. Our table ordered the fried chicken sandwich, house made chips, club sandwich and the fried chicken salad. Great food. The restaurant is a former Mexican restaurant and you can tell, but they've done well to update the interior. Don't let the building persuade you from trying out this restaurant.
