Entering the environment, it was quite chaotic and there seemed to be a lack of order for incoming customers entering the restaurant. However, we were seated shortly after arriving which was a nice surprise given other places you still need to wait regardless if you have a reservation. Chairs were uncomfortable to sit in and awkward to pull out and push in. They had a nice arrangement of flowers on the table. Food was average, not what I was expecting for a fine dining restaurant.

Cantonese seafood and dimsum restaurant, in between Yaohan Centre and Canadian Tire on No. 3 Rd. The building has been various stores and restaurants over the years, and switched to the current restaurant not too long ago. Pretty spacious, nice off white interiors. Their waiting area has like 20 seats which is a plus when it's raining out. Also has some private dining rooms in addition to the main space. Went for dimsum on a weekend, and it was pretty busy. You get a ordering sheet to mark which items you want. The sheet has photos for some items. We got 8 items in total, 7 dimsum and one large plate of stir fried noodles. Serving speed was reasonable. My impressions on the items: Volcano buns: baked bun with chashiu pork filling and a little crusty top. Fresh bbq pork buns are good Shumai: the big shumai that's common in restaurants here. Theirs is is a little less salty and less meaty than places I've tried nearby ,but still big and filling. Stir fried layered rice noodles: this is a big plate that cost almost $30, vs ~$10 for dimsum. Has good wok hay Egg tarts: custard was fresh. The tart cup was not as flakey as other places I've tried Shrimp dumpling: you get 5 of them. Big and full of shrimp. Up to par with the competition Steamed chicken feet: steamed long enough so that it's easy to eat the skin and tendons off the bone. Traditional flavors Sesame balls: their sesame balls have a purple sweet potato and gooey egg custard filling. It's different. Tastes decent. Steam pork ribs: traditional flavors with taro on the bottom. Could be a little softer. Paid $120ish including tips. The 3 of us ate all of the dimsum, and took home most of the rice noodles. I was say they are up to par in the competitive Richmond dimsum scene.

It's like modern dim sum! The interior is very nice and modern looking. Even the tea set seems more modern that what I'm used to. The food is pretty good and the portion sizing is great! Everything was delicious and made well. The taste is similar to other dim sum places so nothing stood out to me except for the matcha salted egg custard bun which is my overall favorite. I was expecting it to initially have matcha in the custard but the matcha is just in the bun and not the salted egg custard (which I think I would rather have it in the custard) the flavor of the matcha is pretty faint but overall it's very soft and lived up to the rest of my expectations. The servers brought the food out within reasonable time so there is no complaint there!

We can't really make out what the name means in Chinese . Maybe . . 朱師奶 ? Or is it . . . 出事啦 ? ? Jokes aside this new establishment is an offshoot of Shoom on Fraser . In this hyper-competitive Chinese restaurant scene of Richmond their dim sum offerings are what I'd consider slightly above average . But good news if you're an early bird coz you get 12% off by paying cash and they'll also waive the tea surcharge . Parking is extremely limited so good luck :D

The dining space is small but the decoration inside makes you feel like you transported to a different country. Marshmallow Thick Toast 4/5 The toast was about an inch thick, well toasted outside with a pillowy soft center. There's some melted chocolate on the bottom that added to the smores vibe. The marshmallows on top weren't very thick, so it melted to an even layer with perfect browning. The toast was cut into 9 pieces so it can be shared but given the portion I think 1-2 people would be fitting for this dessert. We weren't too hungry, so we shared amongst 4. Jasmine Tea Jelly 4/5 I really liked how fragrant the jelly was and that the jelly was a softer jelly that reminds you of Aiyu jelly. The after taste was a bit bitter but I feel like that tells me it was brewed and made and not just bought to serve. It's served with a splash of half and half I believe. To-Go I wanted to try and compare all the tea flavored jellies they had, Jasmine, Oolong and Earl Grey Tea Jelly. Packaged with small packets of the half and half to add later. The best was OOLONG 5/5- it had a slight roasted tea flavor that was refreshing and comforting at the same time. What you would want from a milk tea. Second best was Jasmine - fragrant and less bitter than the one I had in restaurant, typical jasmine flavor that's lightly floral and not too heavy Earl Grey 3/5 - it was good if you like earl grey like me, but it has an intensely strong fragrance and flavor that might be off-putting if you're not used to the taste. It was by far the strongest floral taste and smell of the three. I'd definitely be back to get these to go, they carry well and you can cross borders with them :)

We stopped by at lunchtime at first, but they weren't open yet. Since we really wanted to try it, we called again in the evening to confirm their hours before heading back--and we're so glad we did. The service was excellent from start to finish. They were incredibly patient and took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food did not disappoint. All the Taiwanese snacks we tried were delicious and full of authentic flavors. Our absolute favorite was the shaved ice--it was refreshing, perfectly textured, and just amazing! Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for genuine Taiwanese food and warm, attentive service. Definitely a 5-star experience!

It was fun to eat on the tatami mats in the back - we got the whole space to ourselves since we came on a weekday. Note that the sets come in 2 and whatever tea you choose is for both people. The set was unique and very filling - it came with a mini unagi rice bowl, matcha yogurt with berries, sweet corn custard, 2xnigiri, and hojicha cake, etc. Their menu changes every few months though so best to check their Instagram to see what's new. Warning: Parking on the lot is 1.5hrs only for the whole day and they are strict and will ticket you - this includes if you are running errands earlier in the day in the same lot and had left and returned. Safer to park in the farther lot for 3hrs of free parking.

The matcha drinks and desserts were beautifully presented and tasted rich and authentic, with that deep, fragrant matcha flavor that's never too sweet. We have today: Hojicha shaved ice, replaced with matcha ice cream. This location in Richmond had ran out of Hojicha ice cream for a long time. We asked every time when they will have hojicha ice cream back and staff doesn't know either. Hojicha Chestnut Shortcake, Cake is soft and fluffy, and very too sweet. It is always my favorite. This time i gave a 4 stars is because they discontinue serving Onigiri ( rice ball) and savory item. That's too bad! I love their Onigiri and ramen! Staff said the one inside the open road Toyota still has savory item. Maybe next time I will try that location
