Food is delicious! Every dish was distinct from each other. My favourite would be the vermicelli prawn pot, but seriously every dish was great. The tables were spaciously place and the restaurant was quiet and easy to have family conversations. We brought a cake over, and they did not charge any extra fees for it. read more

Decent dim sum place in Richmond. Nice upscale seating area. Slightly corny AI screensaver warms you up with a fire and sunset snow views. My kids enjoyed commenting on what made it an AI screensaver. Overall items taste good but are a notch below Chef Tony's and the best din sum places. Highlights - - baked cha siu bao - really really good, on the sweet side due to the Mexican bao topping - coconut/egg white tart - really good, crispy, great taste - eggplant dishes - really decent - fried stuff - decent. We had Dimsum today for the first time. The Dimsum served here is prepared well, very creative and sort of elevated. They're pretty to see and good to eat. We had Radish cakes, Baked BBQ ( with a nice yellow crackling top), Abalone siumai, Spinach Crunchy Shrimp roll( a unique treat), Tofu Eggplant Shrimp Paste, Ham sai kok---all very good! Service was professional and warm. There are no carts here, which is becoming a rarity in dimsum restaurants. The restaurant is inside a tall imposing glass building. The interior is even more impressive, with soaring ceilings. It's beautifully decorated, more on the ornate side. The dining tables and chairs are quite opulent , giving the restaurant an expensive appearance. But the prices are actually competitive with other dining establishments. One of the newer Cantonese dimsum/seafood restaurants in Richmond. It's near the Capstan Skytrain station and across No.3 Rd from Canadian Tire, and in the same building as the Tom Lee store. A small parking lot out front and bigger two level parking behind the building. The restaurant has the large main space on the right of the entrance, with double height ceilings and a huge screen on one wall. Decor definitely looks more recent/modern. They also have one or two private rooms. The washroom is unisex with the stalls being enclosed rooms, and a shared handwashing area. Went there for weekend dimsum and they were busy. Although busy, the noise level wasn't too loud which is appreciated. Ordering is done by paper sheet which has pictures of all the items. They have a few dimsum items that I haven't seen in other restaurants in the area, so we tried some of those. Among the items, the beef and egg rice roll and the green rice roll wrap over youtiao and shrimp paste were pretty good. The fish congee was interesting as they used the crispy carp which has a springy texture. We also got the daikon pastry which is an old-school item that I've not seen in this area, and that tasted pretty good. The egg tarts were mid. The pork stomach shumai is a piece of braised pork stomach over a ball of shumai fillings. Tastes fine, but nothing too special. All the other items were decent. Overall the taste is good enough to be competitive with the Richmond dimsum scene. One reason for only giving 3 stars are they are definitely on the more expensive side. Dimsum for 3 was $135+ before tips for 10 items. Servings for some items are on the smaller side for Richmond. Also, the congee we ordered was supposed to come with pepper, but the staff could not find another pepper shaker. We asked twice, and then they never got back to us and we ate the congee with some sauce from other items. read more

I have reviewed Lanxuan before. Adding more photos from my recent dinner and lunch visits this time. I tried their Alaskan crab meal and it was amazing! My family visiting from Hong Kong was happy with the food as well! Their dim sum doesn't disappoint either. The variety is good with some special dishes like 乳鴿 squab and 鵪鶉 quail which are not common here. Service is normal. One down side is that sometimes there's a faint cigarette smell inside the restaurant. read more

Our Uber driver suggested this place for dim sum and told us to get there right when they open. We arrived 10 mins before opening. No issues getting a parking spot. Was the second family in line at the door. Then right after that, the breakfast crowd arrived. We shuffled in without a reservation and said we had a hour and a half limit. Got a table for 6 of us and filled out the order form. Lots to choose from. Their menu with pictures helped. Food came out quick. Enjoyed the crispy chicken wings, shumai with abalone, bean curd, shrimp toast and congee. I know we ordered more. The bean curd was unlike any other bean curd I've had. That is my favorite dim sum dish. The thin broth served with the bean curd was really delicious! I can't wait to go back for that bite. Beautiful restaurant with lots of seating. Men and women walk into the same door to go the bathroom but there are signs indicating who should use each stall. read more

Overall, the dim sum's pretty good here. I enjoyed the shrimp toast the most. Malay cake also pretty good. Everything else I had today was normal. I was very disappointed in the homestyle fried dumplings (鹹水角) though. The dough was rock hard instead of crispy and chewy, and not enough filling. Service was good. My "major" complaint would probably be the parking here. As a person that's not overly fond of driving or parking in tight spaces, this place is not ideal. I suggest carpooling. read more

Have been here a couple times for dimsum and it's quickly become a new favourite! Really comfortable ambiance and seating with lots of spacing between tables, attentive service where they continually refilled our tea and offered to give us new plates. I really like a lot of their dimsum offerings - there's lots of innovative options that differ from the usual and the execution is beautifully done. Some things like the pan fried sticky rice with cheese I probably wouldn't order again, but the shrimp toast and pea tips with consommé are definite repeats. Rice rolls have paper thin layers which I really appreciate, not doughy at all. They also have numerous VIP rooms so a great choice for a private group dinner. I'll definitely be back! read more

Honestly can't complain about the food here. It's as solid as any of the other big Chinese Seafood restaurants in the area. Great for dim sum and great for family dinners. And they have a great ole gigiantic TV that fill's up an entire wall!!! Wonderful if you're sitting away from it, awful if you have to sit next to it. And I've experienced both! Service is as good as the food. And the decor definitely feels less high end than Chef Tony, but much nicer than Kirin. The giant TV says a lot. The dim sum is a bit pricey here but the quality is pretty good. We really liked the baked radish pastry, the siu mai with abalone, and the sponge cake. The steamed beef meatballs and rice rolls were a bit meh. If you get the chance, do get seated in the VIP room - it looks very nicely decorated, with a giant LED screen and fancy tea cups and plates. It's been a while since we are back and it's much more busy. Would recommend making a reservation before coming. Food is still good, but it did seem like it wasn't as good as it was before. We dined here few days ago for a 10-people King Crab & Peking Duck dinner priced at $988, and it was the worst dining experience we've ever had in town. The soup was overpoweringly salty. The Peking duck was cold and dry, and the second dish (stir-fried with veggies) was mostly vegetables--there was barely any meat left. The King Crab was clearly shortchanged - they clearly took half of the crab (we eat king crab at restaurants a regular basis, once every two weeks so we know). The fried rice made with it was burnt--you could tell just without putting it in our mouth. Even the staff noticed the burnt smell and replaced it with a different seafood fried rice. The sour fish soup looked and tasted like dirty water--completely flavorless, lacking sourness, salt, or any seasoning. The fish itself was not fresh, and at that point, we didn't even bother complaining because everything was so disappointing. The vegetables were undercooked--they still had a raw, grassy smell. And again, not hot at all. The only dish with a decent presentation was the chicken, but it was freezing cold and completely tasteless. Even the green onion and ginger sauce had no flavor--we had to ask them to add salt. Oh btw, the yam were sour in the taro yam dessert. And yes, we didnt even bother saying more because we were so fed up. This was, without a doubt, the worst meal we've ever had. Not a single dish was worth eating, let alone $1,000. Stay away from having dinner at this place. We initially came because the dim sum was good, but after this experience, we will never, ever return for dinner. We have never been to a restaurant that left us so disappointed and unsettled after a meal. read more

I am very impressed with their selection of exotic and colourful dim sums and sweets. Very tasty and truly a delicacy. Guest services are good and friendly and the ambiance is cozy and nicely decorated. One of my favorite venue in Richmond since its early days as Marina One. read more
