I've grown up just down the street from a Chuck E Cheese but cannot recollect any bad memories as a child. This is the sole reason that I will keep returning to this establishment. I know my kids love coming here and their happiness is what matters. I've come here for a few kid birthdays and the employee who is in charge of rallying the kids and getting them amped for Chuck E deserves a pay raise. She is always hoarse from all of the yelling and encouragement for the party goers. The mouse comes out and all sorts of random kids that are not part of the birthday party typically end up wandering over to dance or take pictures. I've even witnessed a kid kicking him and no one batted an eye. Somehow the kids seem more amped up here than at a Shakey's or Dave & Busters. Just a note, nothing related to their star rating. There are definitely more games than any other play area that I have been to. The games are great because they span all ages. Even while it is packed, I haven't seen anyone wait for a game because there's always something available and well...kids have short term memory and little patience. :D On to the bad. The food is not so great. The pizza is okay; it tastes like it might be frozen and baked. The wings are possibly boiled. The sauce wouldn't stick to the wings and it had a odd chewiness to it. The celery was oddly fresh. I'm not sure if they offer dessert because they allow party goers to bring in their own cake / cupcakes. Their ticket redemption is a joke. You can spend a good arm and a leg and walk away with a 50 cent bag of candy. They're VERY strict about the amount that you redeem and they round down. My son's 7 year old daycare buddy went with a 100+ something ticket. After she picked what she wanted, there was a 8 ticket balance and the employee told her that she didn't have any more. There were 10 ticket items that probably cost Chuck E Cheese half a penny. Granted...she didn't know that she had been nickel and dimed but it leaves a stink in my book. At least Dave & Buster's has a running total so you don't ever lose any tickets. On to the safety! They stamp you when you come and your kids. It's some sort of black light ink to make sure you don't walk out with a kid that isn't stamped with your same number. I once met my daycare who was already there and the employee would not let me take my son since he had a different number. Needless to say, I was a bit cheesed but at least in that 2 minute stall, I appreciated the thought behind it. Ohhhh, Chuck E. I grew up going to this CEC. I have very vivid memories of me bringing in my (awesome) report card to get free tokens and run wild! And now I wish I could bring in my college transcripts to get the same experience but apparently I'm too old or something. -_- Anyway, fortunately for me, I have 3 lovely nephews that can assist me in reliving my childhood without looking like a creep! :D We come here ever so often (about 2 times a year), and I gotta admit that it is slowly, but surely getting a bit better. Sadly, it is still in a "not-so-great" area but it's not too terrible. The parking is a pain, with few vacancies and compact spaces. The staff here is so-so. I must say that some of them are straight out inappropriate but you kind of expect it in a place like this. As far as the food...the pizza is really bad. Greasy and with no flavor. And to add insult to injury it is really expensive! The wings are okay, but the salad bar is the best! You know, when the staff takes the time to freshen it up. I've lived in the area for over 15 years and I hate Chuck E. Cheese as it is but this location is by far the worse. Walking in, the signs on the outside we're half hung and the smell is disgusting. It smells like cheese, feet and butt. It has a nasty musty smell and everything just feels dirty. The games are always broken or needing more tickets. The restroom is filthy. The tickets munchers are always broken and the tables are all sticky. Granted, the place is for kids but walking out makes me want to take a bath and it's always felt like that. Today I went for the first time with friends in two years. I'm not sure if its because we were older or not but it was not as fun as it used to be. I don't know maybe its because they took out the whole section of games that used to be near the entrance, and also they took out the skee ball machines in the back near the restroom. The place looks really empty this made me really sad. Also tickets are now harder to obtain 2 years ago the average ticket you win was 7 now the average ticket is 3 tickets. Not to mention the prizes are lower quality than they used to be. he higher prizes seem to become harder to obtain. I give this place 3 stars because me and my friends did enjoy some of the games they had to offer and because the place reminded me of childhood memories. We visit that place yesterday. People don't clean the tables they let us with the trash there for a while. Even people taking your orders they look mad they answer us with attitude. We order a birthday cake and the cashier told us that making cakes is not their priority instead it's their pizzas. That we have to remind them after 30 minutes. Then we ask if the mouse can say happy birthday for the child on her birthday. They said in 20 minutes. Then we wait with the cake there and all the kids. Then after 30 minutes we went and ask again and they said to wait 40 minutes. Really? We didn't wait no more for the happy birthday wish from them. Shame on you guys before years ago I used to be there with my kids and they have the love and compassion to go to every table if they were birthday kids. It's probably better visiting at this particular location on a weekday because the crowds are smaller. The parking lot was almost filled to capacity. So searching for a space took a few rounds of driving. (think positive... I was here for the kids..) ha ha ha... Bottom line... weekend crowds are to be expected, so it's not a big deal. However, I didn't see anybody actively cleaning up the tables or items dropped on the floor. The kids are having fun and they don't really care. Yeah, that's right. I'm reviewing a Chuck E Cheese's...but only because I've been here more times than I can count because of friends' kids birthday parties I've had to go to here. The SO and I enjoy the games, especially the basketball, where she thoroughly kicks my ass. It's ok, we give all our tickets to the kids anyway. Pizza's aight. They serve beer, so you can drink yourself into a stupor so that Chuck and his band on stage start looking less shabby and tore up through your beer goggles. At least they keep the place relatively clean, there are kids around everywhere so you'd hope they keep things somewhat sanitary. Since my brother's 1st birthday we've always celebrated his birthday at this Chuck E Cheese. He turns 5 this year and we finally will STOP celebrating here and take our Business to Boomers to avoid the troubles. First things first, there are employees everywhere except the cash register. Want to make an order? Better start screaming for attention because you're not going to get it unless you get their attention while they're gossiping. The workers never stop gossiping. There was a really long line that almost reached the entrance and there was only one register open and when they finally opened another register all the cashiers did while they were taking orders was gossip. You would think the gossip stopped once in front of customers, but nooooooo it kept going. Once you order all you get is over priced food. I'm only 18 and have been coming in here since I was a tyke and even I can see the drastic chance in the quality and prices of the food. You're better off with a pizza from Little Caesers at least you'd gert to keep $40 in savings for tokens for the kids. I'm also bummed that not even their coupons are any good anymore. You'd think a coupon would eliminate the heart attack from the high prices, but no the coupons are just as bad. Anyways back to this Chuck E Cheese location. I think the only good thing is they always keep the salad bar stocked. The pizza isn't as good as when I came as a kid. The games aren't as good either. They no longer have a ball pit or a play place that travels above and through out the Chuck E Cheese, and they now have a bumper cart thing that takes up way too much space and it's not even always open. 5 stars for the customer service provided by the manager Veronica last night. We had our niece and nephew with us so we went to Chuck E Cheese for their pizza. Our first pizza was salty and the crust was burnt so we asked if we could get another pizza cause the saltiness was just too much. Veronica was so kind and apologetic she brought out another pizza and told us that we can keep the first pizza we had. She also gave us to go boxes without us even asking for it! Back to the food...the second pizza was MUCH better. We also got the salad and chicken wings. The wings were okay, but you can't expect much since pizza is their main thing for any Chuck E Cheese. The salad bar....well, I agree with what people have said about it. I've been to a few other Chuck E Cheese's and their salad bar is 10 times better than this location. BUT this location is indeed the biggest Chuck E Cheese I've been to. I definitely give them credit for that also. We were pretty stoked to even see the Deal or No Deal game, the mini bumper cars for small kids was super cute, and the interactive helicopter game was pretty cool as well. As you can tell, just those three games alone takes up a lot of space so you can only imagine how big this location is. I went today to Chuck E Cheese and i was shocked with the customer service at this establishment. I usually go to the one in Downey because its closer to me but for my nieces birthday we went to this one. I have to say hands downs the best service ive had ever at Chuck E Cheese. I want to get a special acknowledgement to Zoila the manager here. Zoila was so amazing and so humble. I went to purchase a card so my daughter could play, ahead of me was this couple arguing with her about something that "supposedly was missing in there order". Zoila maintain her calmness and acted very professional even though the couple weren't . In the end the couple never added what was supposedly missing. As soon as it was my turn she acted the same way very professional and polite. I was shocked to see how calm she was after the other couple were rude to her. I applaud her behavior. She attended me with no problem. I manage to get a playing card and was nice to help with a coupon discount. As my niece party was almost to an end i had told Zoila about the cake we needed even though she wasnt the cashier that charge us but she was nice enough to made sure we received it. Karina another worker brought us the cake and was also very polite. Another person i would like to give credit to. I had asked her if she had candles and responded very politely that they did and how many we needed and if we wanted a specific color. Zoila when she saw the caked arrived had asked me if we wanted Chuck E to sing for my niece. Let me just say this was a little get together we had at one of the regular tables. We didnt book a party here so we werent expecting anything above and beyond. Zoila went out of her way and made sure we had Chuck E come and sing. Karina was kind enough to to sing along. I have to say this was the most pleasant surprise we ever had. Zoila and Karina went above and beyond and did anything to make us feel welcomed. It was the first time i felt that a Chuck E. Cheese was very organized with there staff and polite! Ive never had such amazing customer service like today at this Chuck E Cheese. Thank you to Zoila the manager and Karina for making our experience here just amazing. I wanted to make sure i got there names so as soon as i got home i called and asked for there names because there service was beyond spectacular! Thank you Zoila and Karina. Terrible experience. I am not the type of person to write negative reviews, but I did not appericate how my situation was handled by this staff. Long story short, I had an incident with the Chuck-E-Cheese card machine and needed a refund for one of the cards purchased. I spoke to a manager and she told me that I wouldn't be able to get a refund because I paid with a debit card instead of cash. After pushing her to find a solution to this problem, because I was a customer... she whined up charging me even more for one of the cards purchased so instead of helping me, she screwed me over from saving some money. We brought our 2 year old to ride the bumper cars. He loved it and wanted to keep going haha!!! This is the only location I have seen with bumper cars and it makes our experience here so much better! As with most Chuck E. Cheese's, this place wild and out of control! My husband and I came here on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded. In summary, this place was a complete zoo. I felt as though even if they were overstaffed, this place couldn't be handled. With that being said, I'm giving this location 3 stars. Why? Solely because their customer service was outstanding. As chaotic as it was, every single employee took their time to make sure that we had everything that we needed. 5 Stars because food and service were great. Price isn't what it could be but kids always have fun. They did rig the wheel of fortune game to make it impossible to win. But there are a few other games to win decent amounts of tickets. Highly recommend just letting the kids use all the tokens to have fun, rather than focus on getting tickets in the quick games (hard to get over 20 tickets with one token consistently, which means your better off buying the prize the kids want) All in all fun place. above average arcade center for small kids I am not saying this place has it all. but when I compare it to other arcades in malls and at boardwalks, it is larger with newer games. as a parent, I like the concept of stamping hands with invisible ink so only the correct adult can escort a child off the premises. for sure a Friday night here is crazy, loud, full of kids running around, but that is what I would expect. tables, floors, and counters were relatively clean for the volume of kids around. bathroom was acceptable. they are staffed with young kids that are doing their best. I decided to give it 2 stars for the fact the pizza wasn't bad. Surprisingly!!! Wasn't for that, I would have given them 1 star. That bad! They only have 3 people working and the place is crowded. Was pleasantly surprised! Came to this one on accident but it was so nice! It's slow and short staffed but that's every Chuck E. Cheese, not a big deal at all! They even had an employee going around and making tickets come out of games and giving away free games! My three year old lost her prize and the lovely ladies even let her get another one. If I was able to rate staff with this app all the managers here wouldn't even make it on the one star spectrum. I have never felt so disrespected coming into a place that I've brought my children to for years . I was approaching the register to purchase token credits for my kids and as we were finalizing the cards it seemed the cashier made an error and was not able to hand us the cards with the credits that we had already purchased. The cashier apologized for the inconvenience and handled the situation so mature . Managers were then involved in the situation , he walks over to question whether or not we had paid. Which is understandable, but the attitude and lack of customer service is what tipped off the whole situation. He stated cameras must be checked to verify the payment. So here we are now about 20 minutes in . We finally get a female manager to come out go to the register and hand us our cards. No words ,apologies or even a glare came from this manager.
