I was there today with my kids because we have bags and bags of chuck e cheese tickets that we need to redeem. I tried going there last year but they had closed the gaming area due to covid. I also had tried earlier this year but it was the same situation. I tried again today and finaly we are able to redeem our tickets except that they have removed all of the ticket eating machines . There was only 1 left on the floor because they are switching over to digital cards and the darn machine wasn't working when we got there. I was so happy when Hector got the machine to work for us but then it kept getting stuck and I kept having to ask Hector to fix the machine for us. I felt bad so I decided to just give up on the whole thing and perhaps try a different chuck e cheese location. I haven't left a review on yelp in ages but wanted to make sure that Hector got recognized for the great Customer Service that he had provided! He went above and beyond for us ! Even getting us a chair from the dining area and bringing it all the way to the ticket machine by the door! Cuz with 2 bags full of tickets, he knew that we'd be there for a while.. ..So thank you so much Hector for your help today! The lady at the ordering counter was nice too but I had forgotten to look at her name badge. And in regards to the food, it was a bit disappointing. The pizza arrived slightly warm, like it was barely cooked. Too bad, it probably would have tasted a lot better if it was hot. Half of our fries was burnt ....my kids liked the boneless chicken and the cheesy bread was at least nice and hot.. I'm also disappointed that they no longer have the Buffalo wings ! Kids are out for summer. Came here to play some games with them and decided to try their lunch buffet. $3.99 for kids, $5.99 adults, free for kids 3 and under. I wasn't expecting much but I was expecting at least 1 pizza a kid would eat. No cheese pizza and the pepperoni was going to take 10 minutes. The only options left were an olive pizza, a pineapple pizza, and some other crap. Who tf eats an olive pizza? We'll just change everyone $6 bucks and serve them things they won't eat. Sorry, but ChuckECheese's is just not the same fun' and cool place anymore - but when it comes to customer service, they are horrible, and this one in Garden Grove is among the worst - as I've attended many CEC for kids parties etc. (the Compton CEC was better! - yikes!) First and most important. - the staff. When we walked in, at around 11:30am, the place was pretty empty. There were 2 employees sitting in a booth having a drink and chatting. They looked over at us... and kept chatting. After about 10 seconds, one of them sighed, stood up, and walked over to 'stamp' us let us pass through. Upon entering, there was NO smile, no "welcome to CEC"! These guy(S) were sitting around the wall in a booth, drinking sodas, then they would get up, stamp the people coming inside, no greeting, and go back to sitting in their booth. The manager is walking around doing medial tasks that other employees should be doing! This leaves NO ONE to handle customer service. The wait time at the cash register for assistance or even to order was like 5 minutes. all the while, with workers sitting down at the entrance, the manager god knows where, and a little old man that barely speaks English, and can barely move. All this makes for an slow and not very happy experience. And really, I was hungry! So I asked for a manager. She said, I'll be right there. Came after I was done with my food !!! Ha! First WHY do they hire these individuals that clearly don't care about their jobs, let alone qualified? At the minimum, they need to be retrained. Atmosphere was... boring - and I enjoy CEC! This isn't the greatest Chuck E. Cheese out there but yesterday evening my family and I were there and it was pretty packed ! It always seems to be short staffed; so it's not their fault ! The food is always good and correct there was a specific worker there last night her name is Natalie. She was on top of her game! You can tell she was tired /exhausted she even mentioned she was starting to feel sick. Even tho she was all of thee above she still managed to have patience an take our order and have a sweet / funny sense of humor you can totally tell this is an employee that goes above and beyond ! Came here for a birthday party this past weekend, loved that they have bumping carts for the kids I've never seen this at any other location which in my opinion is a plus. They don't just have the normal paper photos kids can take and minutes later get ruin with drinks they have awesome ID cards for kids my child loved them and has been showing them to family members since . Customer service was ok and not crowded like other locations. The only con is that machines run out of tickets fast there was 3 that where out of tickets other than that location is okay. I have never been so disappointed by a chuck e cheese as much as i was today. I ordered an all you can eat salad bar. I went over to serve myself and there was nothing!!! I asked if i could get someone to refill it and the cashier said she would ask someone to come and help me, it took about 20 mins for someone to finally come and refill the ranch. Meanwhile i saw workers just standing around talking. After playing whatever games we could play that weren't broken, we proceeded to go to the prize area, the girl there helped the person in front of me for about 30 mins, in those 30 mins she left about 3 times without notice. The girls standing by the registers didn't even bother to come over and ask if they could help. Since apparently there is a shortage on beverage cups, the girl stocking them didn't even bother and the other one was just standing there. Finally we asked karina or korina to see if she could help us since the other one could not and she didn't even hesitate. My mother finally had to call the manager and ask him to come out and he finally stepped out of his office to assist the girl who after a decade came out to help again. My experience sucked so bad that i created a yelp just so i could review this location. Overall, i will never be coming back to this location! read more

I was standing in line waiting to make a purchase when a young man came from the back kitchen area, walked up to the pizzas, used his hands without any gloves to tear apart a few pieces and then stood there above the food eating his pizza. Does no-one that works here understand the health code? The employee had a pretty angry look on his face like he could not stand the people that were in the building. I visit many places with my kids and don't usually review them but this was unfortunately bad enough to review... we spent nearly 300 for a birthday party. Our hostess was amazing but the manager was absolutely terrible! She was working the salad bar. Items were running out. When we requested that she refill them, she said she wouldn't refill until the line was over. There was about 10 people in line behind us. The worst part is she offered no reason for why she was waiting and she was incredibly RUDE! So instead of waiting for the line to run out, we stood and waited for her to refill the items we wanted. ***BONUS *** 3 of us had salad and 3 of us got sick!!! What a complete bummer! This location is small. Limited games. We were here til closing. Once it hit 9 all the games shut off. And my nieces and nephew and other children stood inline for 7 mins after closing to cash out their tickets. But apparently the manager saw us but continuously ignores us. Had a birthday party there for my daughter at 7:30pm time slot. I will never go back to Chuck E. Cheese in Garden Grove again because of the rude manager Luis! Our party ended and when my guest tried to cash in their tickets at the prize stand we were told that they are closed! I told them my party just ended and we were unaware of them closing the prize stand at a certain time. They asked our hostess who was great and she told the girls to help us. We came to Chuck E. Cheese yesterday for my little brothers 1st bday. I wasn't sure how it would all work out with the food, drinks and play passes but my party host Edgar was really amazing at accommodating us and bring the food out and helping me out with my guest count and their passes (luckily they all came) and he was very helpful when I needed to order more food and get the rest of my play passes. Also since my little brother was too small to go into the ticket blaster he allowed for another kid to go in which I liked because my moms godson was obsessed with it the moment he saw it. Basically everything went WAY better than I expected. Even a few of my guests enjoyed it and commented on how great everything went. Edgar was just very helpful and amazing that Im going to plan my little brothers next party at this location again. So if anyone plans their kids party here hope that you get Edgar as you party host and enjoy your time just like we did. read more

My review is based mostly off the customer service we received. Came here yesterday for a reserved bday party. The hostess was attentive and super friendly. She was on top of delivering our food and refilling our pitchers and was always around if we needed anything else! She made the stressful experience of hosting a party easy! Will def come again next year! As for the food if you like thin pizza then you will like this! The all you can eat salad bar was fresh and constantly being restocked.
