This review is specifically for this Chuck-E-Cheese location AND comparatively to other locations. We got the summer play pass thing, Silver Tier and have been using it every week for our 5 year old. He loves it. We have gone to a few different locations throughout summer, as he likes certain games and activities. This location had some arcade games that other locations don't. Which my son absolutely loved. He is now obsessed with Luigi's Mansion, so I might have to get that on the Switch. Thanks Chuck-E! Overall this location is cleaner and less crowded than the ones closer to my house. That was great. There were a few games out of service, but I've never been to a Chuck-E-Cheese that didn't have that. This location had a fairly small amount of things that were down comparatively speaking. The staff was pretty friendly, and they actually always had someone at the door to actually check the wrist stamps when you leave. The person at the prize counter was also really friendly and helpful, they also spoke to my son instead of just me, so that was a plus. read more

It was our first time coming here and it took like 20 minutes just to ring us up because the guy at the register couldn't enter our coupon even after the manager was called they took a while to figure it out. Once our order was finally placed we ordered 1 Large pizza and wings and 47 minutes in and our order was nowhere to be found. Eventually we reached out to the back to see the status of our order and wasn't even started. There was 1 person in that back that had completely forgot about our order and was rushing to start making the orders coming in. We eventually got our order after a total of 1 hour. There wasn't much staff and they all looked like they didn't know what they were doing. Even the manager looked lost. Will definitely NOT come back. We take our kids weekly to Chuck E. Utterly disappointed with this entire place. Very dirty and several of the games were not operating correctly. Despite how busy the place was, the staff did not seem to have any sense of urgency and practically lounged around as lines grew at the counter. You'd think the manager would get his staff in order but no. The manager in fact looked the least professional of all the staff. His hair was in shambles, his shirt was dirty and half tucked, and his shoes were not tied. Not to mention he walked around with a scowl and was very unpleasant when I asked for help at the toy counter. In fact, I was at the toy counter for at least 20 minutes waiting for service as this same manager multiple times came back and said someone would help me. He was free to help the whole time. Why couldn't he help? Unclear. Clearly he is not customer oriented and the rest of the staff followed suit. I understand that this chain isn't the most glamorous but the manager here is truly one of the worst I've seen at any restaurant. Mentally prepare yourself for a fun filled day of screaming children and absolute complete chaos! I'm not even kidding. I came to this Chuck E Cheese location on a rainy Saturday in San Diego and let me tell you that the entire child population of San Diego was here. I don't know how I would have thought otherwise since this location is at a prime location right by the sports arena. There is a parking structure that accommodates the plaza nearby including the gym and other stores so I can see it getting pretty crowded. Upon entry you get you hand stamped with the same stamp as your children which is nice that they actually check to make sure you and your family have the same number. There are plenty of games to keep the kiddos entertained. A $20 card I feel goes a long way. This location is just pretty crowded. Let's just say that they really took advantage of the layout of the area to really maximize its seating and game potential. All in all a great place to bring the kiddos. Fair warning if there is an event at one of the venues nearby it might be a struggle just to pull out of the parking lot. read more

Pizza is good, though we waited 30-40 mins for a medium pepperoni pizza.... the girls were starving. while we were eating our pizza, next to us was a managing bashing on the employee whom was trying to fix the photo booth. poor guy. I have never been impressed by a Chuck E. Cheese until now. This is a great location. The staff are pleasant and professional. The employee inside the Chuck E mouse costume took extra time and allowed my baby who was a little unsure of him to check it out. Two things that set this location above all others I have ever been to: 1) This establishment is especially clean. This is the first Chuck E. Cheese location where I have actually observed staff cleaning the game knobs/controllers. 2) I have two children and have used countless (at least 100) diaper changing stations over the years. Let me start off by saying: I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A FUN PLACE FOR CHILDREN. Let me follow by saying that regardless of the aforementioned fact, this was the most disgusting, vile place I have been to in a long time. Moving on. Are we trying to get into the Ivy Bar? Shit. Bad sign number two: We had to stand in another 10 minute line to order pizza/get tokens. Bad sign number three: It was hot as shit in there. I truly thought I was going to melt to death. Yes, literally. Bad sign number four: There were little nasty rugrat children climbing up onto the Chuck E. stage and pulling on the poor robot mouse. Bad sign number five: Half the damn games in this ramshackle place were out of order. And there were more nasty heathens climbing and laying all over all the Skeeball games. WHERE THE HELL ARE YOUR PARENTS? It took for dang ever to get our one pizza out and it wasnt even that hot when we got it. A majority of our tokens were lost on broken games. The only place parents were was sitting in booths stuffing their faces with food instead of watching their demon spawns. The floors were filthy and covered in food and other foolishness. And I swear that place was packed over fire capacity. Honestly, the only good things I can say is I like that they stamp each party with a matching number for everyone they came with that way they can make sure the babies leave with the right adults. In the am.. there aren't the rush of kids... you get pretty much the whole place to yourselves.. it isn't until say 11:30 that the rat packs start arriving... by noon and there after--your innundated with families and kids! If kids could write Yelp reviews, I have a feeling that they'd give Chuck E. Cheese a higher rating. However, from an adult perspective, it's simply an overpriced "fun zone" with too many "out of order" signs and games that seem rigged to reward the least amount of tickets possible. I recently took a four-year-old boy that I babysit to Chuck E. Cheese for a couple of hours while his brother had a birthday party at the nearby laser tag place. We spent $20 on tokens, which gave us the perfect amount to spend for two hours. We literally just finished the last token when his dad came back to relieve me. Over the course of those two hours, we played almost every game in the building. The majority of these games seemed to have more to do with luck than skill and most awarded just a couple of tickets at a time. There's also a few games that don't award any tickets and I noticed some kids being disappointed when they finished the game and no tickets came out. Perhaps these machines should be better labeled? But then again, I suppose the number of tickets doesn't matter too much. None of the prizes were very exciting anyway and anything that could be worthwhile would require far more tickets than most kids could ever dream to have. The one thought I kept having was "don't touch my face." I can't begin to imagine how many germs were on these machines that hundreds of kids touch every day. I made sure to use plenty of hand sanitizer when I got back to my car and thoroughly wash my hands before eating. We didn't eat anything so I can't comment on the food. I remember going to a Chuck E. Cheese when I was little and thinking it was amazing. Perhaps the quality has gone downhill but I have a feeling it's probably just that I grew up and this place lost it's appeal. I still think there's better places to take kids for a few hours of fun though. read more

I had a birthday party for my five year old here from 5-7 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Things went wrong from the time of booking the party online. A representative called 48 hours prior to the party to verify my booking and what I wanted. At that time, everything was correct. Upon arriving, I find that the booking was messed up, the party area was not cleaned very well at all from the previous party and the service from our hostess and other staff members was absolutely horrible. First of all, the birthday party area is WAY too crowded with tables crammed in tightly to fit as many people/parties in that area as possible. There was cake icing, ice cream and other things all over the carpet when we arrived. It was disgusting. Our party hostess left a great deal to be desired. Our party had 11 children and 14 adults. She set the table for the kids but did nothing for the adults. She took no orders for food/drinks for the adults and I had to go and order everything separately at the cashier. The pizzas came out and were almost eaten completely by the time the appetizer came out. I ordered pitchers of lemonade for the kids and pitchers of soda/lemonade for the adults. Our hostess brought ONE pitcher for 11 kids and brought nothing for the adults. She left and was no where to be found for over a half hour. When I did find her, she was working behind the prize counter and paying no attention to the parties she was supposed to wait on. I went to three different staff members asking for assistance in getting the drinks and all three said they'd be right over but did nothing. I managed to get an employee to give me two pitchers which I carried myself to the soda fountain machine, only to have a different staff member stop me in my tracks, take away the pitchers and say she'd bring the drinks right over. 25 minutes went by and still no drinks. I was pissed. Though the kids were having fun with playing games and eating pizza, all the adults were upset. Finally, I was able to get drinks for the adults but by that time the food had been eaten and half of the adults went and bought their own separate drinks at the cashier just to be able to get a drink. So...I paid for 14 adults to have drinks and that went out the window. About 40 minutes were left in our 2 hour party time window and nothing had been done about Chuck E. coming out for a party so I tracked down my original hostess and asked for plates and silverware in order to serve the cake - which I brought myself from an outside bakery and I was charged for a Chuck E. Cheese sheet cake in the end - but that's another story. I called to verify with management earlier in the week that I could bring an outside cake and was told yes. Our hostess gave me attitude because I brought a two layer cake instead of a sheet cake which apparently was more difficult for her to cut because it was bigger. She picked up the cake and began to carry it away from the birthday girl and all her friends because she said she was going to cut it in the kitchen instead. Another mom and I stopped her because we didn't want her to take the birthday child's cake away just after she blew out the candles and all the kids were expecting to get cake. She mangled the cake trying to cut it with a plastic picnic-type knife. Now with all the cakes this place has to help cut, you would hope to goodness that they would invest in a larger plastic knife and not use something so flimsy. I originally ordered about 28 cups of ice cream. Very few adults took any and about half the kids did. I asked if the hostess could take back the unopened cups of ice cream and credit our account but she said no. So I walked around and handed out ice cream cups to other people at other tables just so it wouldn't go to waste. There was about $20 of ice cream. Our tab was charged for a sheet cake which we didn't take. I went back to the cashier after noticing the error on the receipt. She told the manager who preceded to not correct the error herself but passed off the duty to another staff member. Two staff members argued between each other about how I did or did not have a Chuck E. Cheese sheet cake. One didn't believe me so I told her she could come to the table to see my bakery cake still there. She ended up taking the sheet cake off my account but instead of crediting my credit card she gave me the money back in cash. Guess she didn't know how to do it correctly. The kids played the games with their tokens and several of the machines ate the tokens and gave nothing in return - no game started, no tickets printed out, etc. The ticket-counting machine didn't work and ate tickets without giving a credit slip for the prizes. After several parents notified the manager, only did he try to fix anything. The only thing good about having a birthday party here was there is enough parking in the lot and an adjacent parking garage and the pizza is better than just average. read more

From a kids' standpoint, this place is heaven - games, prizes, play structures, rides, pizza. From an adult standpoint, it's a lot of noise, chaos, crowds and headaches. But, the kids love it, so sometimes we give in and take them (and by we, I mean me; my husband affectionately calls it the "worst place on earth"). After getting caught in a downpour this morning on a mile-long walk to the donut shop, I promised the kids we could come. They had a great time (as always) and I actually enjoyed playing basketball and skee-ball with them. I ordered a cup of coffee, and while it wasn't the best, at least they made it fresh. I've never been to a Chuck E. Cheese but I know enough to know that there was going to be rowdy children, mediocre pizza and mass chaos. And all of that was fine. What wasn't so great is that although there were two open cash registers, only one person decided to half pay attention to us while the other other blatantly ignored us. We nearly walked out right then, but finally someone decided to take our order. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza, two drinks and 50 tokens for $30. I'm glad we did not have the salad bar because it was a mess. There was food all over and many bins half filled. At the time we were there, it was busy but there was no one else in line meaning there would have been time to clean up the counter. We played a few games of Skee Ball while waiting for our pizza, which actually did turn out to be good. Not gourmet, but just good ol' crispy crust pizza. Then back to the games. Mario Kart and the games of luck were the best. The basketball shot had one side that didn't work and two other games took tokens, but didn't function. Kids were running up on the Skee Ball machines and the place was just a mess. I didn't expect immaculate by any means, but it just had a dirty feel. If you don't have great food and crappy service, at least make the games work! Pizza and arcade games are fun, but next time maybe Dave and Buster's. If you've been to Chuck E. Cheese as a kid, it's fun to reminisce and feel like a kid again, but as a grown up, we have higher expectations of what we expect from a place and this place definitely did not meet them. This was my first time at this location. I have to say that I feel like Chuck E. Cheese's overall are generally under staffed. The girl at the counter seemed overwhelmed and a little rude. There was a guy there didn't catch his name but he was calm and collected and seemed to be trying to get things done quickly. He was attentive and apologetic. We visited on a Tuesday and they have a Tuesday pizza special. The website says two large pizzas for 22 dollars. The girl said at there location it was two for 26 dollars. The website was wrong. The pizza wait was 45 minutes and there were hardly any people inside. I mean it was a Tuesday. Lol. The facility itself was clean. One of the cleanest Chuck E. Cheese locations that I have been to. I liked that. I also like that games are not too expensive to play. You have to buy a game card, but it's reloadable so keep it for next time. You can choose to load it with unlimited play for X amount of minutes or pay an X amount for so many points. Most games are a point or two to play. Also, every once and a while Chuck E. Cheese will come out and have a dance party with the kids. When he is done he will throw tickets for the kids to grab! Awesome! Overall, it's a good time.
