I literally just walked in the door from this particular Chuck E Cheese. I am going to be honest, I have not been to many Chuck E Cheeses but this one merited an immediate review. WE WALK IN...We get there and the place was very clean and well organized. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was pretty cool that the place was not packed and there was ample table space available. GAME ROOM...We ordered our pizza and salads and hit the game floor. The game room was clean and they had a lot of good games and plenty of room. However, there were quite a few machines that were not functioning correctly but the staff was incredibly helpful and eager to lay complaints to rest. OUR FOOD... OK so here is where i had to drop the fifth star. Our pizza order took a long time... I mean a LONG time. When we let the staff know, however, they were again friendly and eager to help and accommodated our party with free tokens and a sincere apology. The manager explained that they were short staffed and as a newly opened restaurant I can't really hold it against them. I have been a staff member of a restaurant that is just opening (BJs Brewhouse about 4 years ago) and understand the perils of opening a new restaurant with as big a name as Chuck E Cheese. When the pizza arrived it was delicious and the salad bar is pretty legit, especially for the money. The layout is great and the staff seems to genuinely be enjoying themselves. Unfortunately I cannot recall the young woman's name who walks around with Chuck and does the "cha cha" with him, but she really brought her A Game and made "Chuck E Cheese Live" a blast for the kids (and me lol). Also one of the "game floor attendants" named Alfredo was the super star of the night! He went out of his way to serve the floor with what I can only call expertise. At the end of the night I was so please I was compelled to let the manager know and give a special shout out to Alfredo. Carmen (the manager) was also very helpful and gracious. Literally the best Chuck E Cheese Experience to date! And I totally would have given them 5 stars but couldn't pull the trigger due to the wait for the pizza but based on the other reviews it doesn't seem to be a reoccurring issue. I'm going back in Feb for my niece's birthday and would highly recommend you check this place out first. KUDOS University location! This Chuck E Cheese is way better than any other I've been to in San Diego. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The manger came out to check on us and even gave my daughter some extra tokens. I am not a fan of chuck e cheese, but I would come be back to this location anytime. The only this is, they need to check and clean the bathrooms more often. read more

This place got ghetto fast. It was a fun, family friendly environment just a short few months ago. I recently went again with my husband, sister and her daughter and we had a very poor experience. There were more than what would be considered responsible in broken machines, an inattentive staff and the entire restaurant needed a good deep cleaning. We had a number of machines take our coins without functioning and other machines that didn't provide any tickets. We advised the staff of the dysfunctional machines and they didn't seem to care, just brushed us off and said that they'd "have someone look into it". I expected better. Came in on a Thursday evening around 6 , one person handling the register and the front door. We walked in and stood about 2-3 minutes without anyone attending us, waiting is not the problem. It's the fact that nobody is watching out for people walking out without having their majic stamp read! We went here for my daughters birthday just as a family outing. It was so much fun and my daughter had a blast. She loved the pizza, the marry-go-round was her favorite, and playing games and getting the tickets. If she could she would have stayed longer. There was some games that didn't give tickets, which my daughter wasn't upset about, and the staff was friendly. We were welcomed when we first walked in and they did not rush us when we were picking out our prize. We went when they first opened which wasn't busy. We will be back to this location. read more

Today me and my friend met up so the kids could play and we could chit chat a bit. Almost 1/2 the games n rides were out of order we lost about 8 coins . We got the kids pizza sodas salad and fruit along with purchasing tokens a few times while there . Our 4 kids play the chucke cheese apps and we had a few winning emails to redeem from our phones and kids tablets but Briana said no unless I could prove with a RECIPT well after a few hours of being there and throwing away our trash I didn't have our recipts any how long story short Briana was rude she said because I had a cup in my hand still she would only redeem 1email for me and that by that she was doing me a favor. I let her know that my tickets that the kids won would expire soon since we hadn't came in a while and again she said nope and walked off.. She had very poor customer service skills and how she works with people is beyond me... JACOB was very nice and helpful I know he felt bad that BRIANA was being so mean and kept apologizing to us. Next time we will go elsewhere like Johns pizza or another location of chucke cheese ... What happened to the tokens?? You stick one in and you play a game... the card system is a joke... sometimes taking forever to let you play once its charged you a credit (OR 2!!!) Littler kids do not understand this and will swipe it a few times before it engages to let you play. More than a few were out of service. The games you play that require a coin (after you swipe your card the machine drops a coin for you to play) 1/2 the time took the credit from the card and didnt drop a coin. Celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday here. My reservation was at 530pm. I got there at 5, but the table wasn't ready. I had made my reservation online. They actually didn't make the food I had ordered, which had its pros and cons. First off. They check with you to make sure it's still what you want. That was good because the menu online was basic compared to the actual menu. For example, it only offered pepperoni pizza for adults and the biggest wings platter was Large, but inside, they had more pizza options: combo, Bbq, Alfredo, veggie, even gluten I think. Also there is an XL wing platter. The con was that I was not aware the food would not be ready when we were seated and my Party had to wait for the food. I wish they told me soon as I got there instead of when I was seated. I would have submitted my order early. I actually notice cleared and set up tables and asked if it was my tables and was able to sit at 5:20p. My host zoila was amazing! I would request her again if possible. She definitely hooked me up. She never gave me a hard time when I requested stuff. Very helpful! She told me about the coupons, so I looked them up and was able to use them. I never been to chuck e cheese prior but I hear this is the cleanest and I like the open space. Lastly, we were the last party on a Saturday night and was able to stay past our 2hrs. I think its a great place for young kids. There are more games and things they can do here compared to boomers, Belmont park or any other arcade. It's also a token each so you dont have to spend much on games and they can pick a toy for prizes which they love! ( even though those toys are super cheap) it's also small enough that you dont have to be super worried about them getting lost. There are however not a lot of variety of food which isn't so bad because their options are what kids would eat and its good for a quickly meal. This place is so ridiculous .we have waited for an hour for pizza. The person up front said they haven't even made our meal yet . They close in one house and they are still allowing people to come inside and order food . The place is messy . The person in front not once offered a discount or any tokens for the inconvenience. It took us about 10 mi to even talk to someone about our food being out late. They should either hire more people or at least pay a decent amount for people to even WANT to work here . This location seriously needs more staff. The register always has a line, no one is doing the kid check at the front door!! They dont clean the facility properly. No one ever sanitizes the games, both times myself and my children have come here we ended up getting stomach viruses. Not sure if its the food or just the germs. I love love love this chuck e cheese. it hasn't disappoint me yet! the staffs are sooo friendly & VERY attentive! the place is always clean & the salad bar is refill in a matter of minutes. I think it's cuz we go in between the hours of 1-4 on Fridays. we want to get there & have the kids run around & play before the rush hour pours in. we had an issue a couple times where the games don't work or it ran out of tickets & the employee (didn't get his name) Hispanic wears glasses helps us out. he's soo attentive, comes ask us how we're doing & is everything ok? and if we need anything else? While waiting for my pizza, I went to get my salad. There were several other people waiting for the salad bar to be restocked as looked bare of salad, dressings, and ostracizing of the vegetables. It took several minutes for someone to pop their head out and restock one item. Then, I waited patiently for more than 45 minutes for my family's pizza until I finally went up to see what is taking so long. No one was around until the manager walked by and I told her that I had ordered more the 45 minutes ago, showing the time on my receipt. She just asked for my order number and went to kitchen asking about my order, but it appeared that nobody was even back there. She grabbed a pizza that was sitting there and handed it to me. She didn't even acknowledge the fact that I had been waiting long or apologize. Afterwards, the manager went walking around asking people how their service has been utilizing a tablet/ipad. The manager looked at me and continue on by me to the table behind me (my sister-in-law. In awe, I just eaves dropped as she tried to talking to my Spanish speaking sister-in-law, trying to get a good review. After eating, I went with my kids to watch them play games. If I could give no stars I would. I recently celebrated my neice birthday at this collage ave location. Never again, some of the games were out of service. (understandable due to the pandemic I noticed some games were shut down OR not in service))..but MAJORITY of the games were not working correctly they would take your points off your cards but not work properly...that was MOST OF ALL the smaller age children's games. SO if your looking to only play 4 or 5 of the same games over and over this is the location...For example they have a Child's HIPPO game towards the back wall IT was in service but it did not release anything for the game to begin, That was majority of the Entire game Room example # 2 all shooting games for the older children I MEAN ALL 2nd player controllers never ever worked! We tried to play numerous games with a 2nd player never worked on ANY! We tried taking photos at the photo both BUT thru out the whole visit it claimed it was out of the paper roll (I'm guessing what the picture prints on)..your probably asking why I did not bring it to attention to the staff??..well the reason is because I was the Aunt that was in charge of my neices & nephews that night..& with timed game cards that have a timed game time that did not fit in for that night. What was more important to me was celebrating the occasion. Last but not least pizza TASTED as it looked..as if it was sitting in kitchen long before it reached our table. I will never come to this location again. We made reservations for my daughters 6th birthday and they never reserved our spot. We arrived had no table set nothing!! Upon investigation they never set our time and totally didn't acknowledge the fact that their was clearly a error of their own. I had my sons 3rd birthday here and it was pretty legit. It was super packed but the kids had fun. I was told by a female upon booking my reservation that they did not have room in the fridge for my own cake (which was a lie). Adrian my host told me that it is not true and they always have room. I was pretty disappointed that I got lied to because I had to send my cousin to her house to get the ice cream cake... But besides that everything went smooth. I love the concept of Chuck E. Cheese's. It's great, you can purchase an hour of entertainment for your children for less than $20 and feed the family pizza, drinks and salad for about $30. They stamp your family's hands' with the same number so if some pedophile tries to leave with your kid there is a check point they have to go through as a safeguard. Of course that doesn't mean you should just turn your kid loose and say "see ya in an hour," but at least if you lose track of them for a minute or two in the crowd of people you don't have to shit your pants thinking they've been abducted. However, let's talk about the "pizza." We purchased pizza tonight, actually it was more like cardboard with cheese and pepperoni. Come on people! The pizza was burnt and resembled cardboard. I've never tasted cardboard before but this pizza crust is precisely how you would expect cardboard to taste! I know I'm not going to get a 5 start meal at a Chuck E. Cheese, but damn! Put a timer on the pizza!! The pizza is overpriced and nasty. I would at least expect something like Little Cesar's pizza. I'm not a pizza snob, but this stuff is awful. My other major complaint would be the amount of time it takes to actually order your food and get your game card. They only have one person at the register taking peoples' orders and the line is out the door. I waited at least 10 minutes and only had 3 people in front of me. Please staff more appropriately for a Friday night. Worst experience of our life! I already personally hate coming here but my kids enjoy it. So we made it a family day took all of our 5 kids. We got a play card for 45 min and the kids time was up and still no food. So we go ask to see how much longer and the person takes our buzzer into the kitchen I watch her grab all "our food" and hands it to us. I'm thinking ok our food has been ready and our buzzer never went off? we go back to our table all the food is cold. As we are eating we see a roach walking across the table. Very disappointed with the customer service we received today. We've always had my nephews parties here and we have never been treated the way we were today. The staff was completely rude and very unhelpful, my nephew was injured in one of the games and when we asked to speak to a manager to write an incident report we were told they wasn't one onsite. Of course we took pictures got names and everything still staff was very inconsiderate. It likely took over two hours for us to get the cake we had ordered again didn't even get an apology. We recently went to this location on college ave and was completely disappointed. We ordered a pizza which was brought out fast but was not fresh. I also purcased a salad bar and the lettuce was really old turning brown . i have a one year old which i was running behind all over. Thats when i noticed how filthy all the games and jungle gym was.. There was black gunk stuck in the cracks of the slide. The games had that same black sticky stuff all over as well. We had been done eating for about an hour and no one came to offer to clean up our table. Many of the games were out of service and the ones that worked kept getting stuck. Last of all when the mouse came out his costume tshirt was so dirty the one on the fake chucke on the stage was really clean in compare. Looked like he had came back from fixing his car. My family & a few friends just celebrated my sons 3rd birthday at Chuck E Cheese yesterday! I love this new CC. Its so big & everyone was so nice. We were greeted at the door & our hostess took us to our table & even helped us carry stuff back! Her name was Stephanie P. & she was the best ever! She made sure we had everything we needed. She helped me with everything. I was a stress free mama:) My son was a little cranky at first & she was still so sweet to him! She & Chuck E made it as special as it could have possibly been for him! He was a lil iffy about Chuck E, but hey he still had fun with all the games! Anything we needed she made sure we had it. My family thought she was great and even got pics of her! ;) I also got a picture with her! l0l So glad we my sister talked me into celebrating his special day at ChuckE Cheese this year!
