They completely destroyed my engine because they forgot to tightly close the oil cap after changing my car's engine oil. Instead of giving me a safe engine replacement to drive with, they gave me a used shitty engine. This engine only lasted for three months. I'm now cautious. My engine has basic maintenance and an oil change was part of it. Apparently the technician who no longer works there didn't fill it by the books, 3 quarts to be exact. He forgot to tighten the cap where they drain the oil out of. Found out when my engine had a check engine light. 2 stars because when I came back for them to check it out they blew me off because I looked young. He literally said he doesn't need to deal with this. When I brought this up to management they apologized but the fact is their mistake caused thousands of dollars worth of damage. Chuck Olson Kia, led by Bill in this instance, sold me a used car. Bill stated that the clutch was making a little noise in first and second gear. He stated that with proper care, I would get 40K to 60K miles before it became an issue. Bill sold me on the 4 month, 4,000 mile warranty and at the last second removed it cause the car was such a low cost. Should have known then I was getting raped. 4 days later, the clutch goes out after 72 miles, not 40k, The guys at Chuck Olson Kia screwed us. I would put Bill's bullshit email on here where he basically says its on you to fix now and I should have bought a new one. Instead of saying I don't know, Bill just lied. Management lied. Chuck Olson Kia lied. Instead of fixing an issue with a car, they just masked it and passed it on to the customer. I expect that at a bargain car lot, but not from a supposed reputable dealer. The shop doing the work to fix the clutch said without a doubt the dealership knew it was a serious issue and ignored it. I, the consumer, trusted that a reputable dealership would have my back and protect me. Not Bill, Not their management, and not Chuck Olson Kia. Do not buy a car from here. I recently purchased a used car from this dealership. The sales person who assisted me was friendly and helpful enough without being pushy. I brought a friend who's experienced in car purchasing to help chime in with questions and give input. I found a car I liked, did a test drive, took it to a garage for an inspection, and went through the purchasing process. It all went very smoothly. Then, the next day, I realized some missing things in the car. It's a hatchback and a trunk lid is necessary to cover the contents in the trunk from the rear window. When I was looking at the car, there was a lid, but it was gone when I checked for it later. I messaged the sales person and he said the lid didn't come with the used car trade-in. So, I guess they put one in just for showing the car to potential customers and then they take it away for the sale?! I also didn't think I needed to check to make sure all the parts are still there before I drove it off the lot. Another missing item was a spare tire. While I didn't check for it when I was checking out the car, I didn't think I had to. Again, the spare tire doesn't come with the purchase of a used car? I wasn't told at the time of purchase that the spare tire and trunk lid came separately. I was then told that I can order those parts from them (spare tire kit ended up being $267 and the trunk lid was about $100). I thought that was a bit shady. As part of the purchase, I was promised a part replacement but that was hastily written on a piece of paper and I admit this was my oversight, I forgot to ask for a copy of that paid service note. After finding missing items, I persisted with getting some type of written note indicating the replacement service would be free and the service department was very helpful and prompt in that regard. The part was replaced, and spare tire kit was installed and the service dept staff was friendly and honest. And last but not least, I like my car a lot. I think it's a good car and a reasonable price. I just don't like that some of the items didn't come with the car. read more

By far the worst car shopping experience I have ever had. I reached out to this dealership today to get information on a new minivan that was enroute to their dealership, and was contacted by Michael Oravec. Michael was initially polite, until I asked about any available incentives, at which point he told me "the incentive is that you get to buy the car." Against my better judgement, my family and I stopped by the dealership to see a comparable used van on their lot. Michael was impolite to both me and my wife and was completely dismissive throughout our experience. He even told me that his manager was irritated that we came into the dealership 45 minutes before they closed. The experience was capped off by him walking away without seeing if we needed any further information and without even saying goodbye. I realize that the car market is a bit cutthroat these days, but that's no excuse for a complete lack of professionalism and simple manners. Two words: Brian Shinto. Brian is exactly why salespeople get such bad raps. He was rude, dismissive, contemptuous, preening, and a total, complete jerk. Why he is still working there after the negative reviews of him, I cannot fathom. I'm literally an hour from picking up my car, and I'm considering cancelling the whole thing. All because of Brian Shinto's attitude (and some other person I ran into over the phone just now, who I swear to God sighed heavily on the phone when I asked him to clarify an answer, muttering "Oh my God" when he had to get that clarity). If you're an assertive person, a woman, and you like to be treated like, you know, a customer, then move on. That said, I did work at first with Nathan, but when I inquired via the web about pricing, Brian called me back, and I was okay working with another salesperson because I figured the dealership wouldn't allow Brian to make that call if Nathan was supposed to be doing it instead. After moving back to Washington from California and finding out that the extended warranty I invested in for my car was NOT honored in the PNW Kia's, I was beyond angry with Kia of Everett for being soo rude and unprofessional (in addition to not honoring the services that I had already paid for). My co-worker, who also drives a Kia, told me to drive to Chuck Olson in Shoreline if I want to be treated with respect. The difference was like night versus day. Salina was crystal clear, upfront and transparent about their business practices and followed through 1000% percent on keeping me updated even earlier than she said she would. My car had the problem with steam coming out of the ac vents and there was no labor fees to fix that aside from the hour assessment fee for that problem. My car's other issue was that the back hatch and wiper had stopped working also. They assessed that they could add more wire instead of replacing the very expensive part and took care of the problem so that it wouldn't happen again. It was an extra hour of labor and a little fee for the wire but that's a heck of a lot better than having to replace a wiring system that would likely break again (because it was obviously too short). I'm quite happy with the service I received at Chuck Olsen Kia. Kia needs to do recalls for those repairs and I'm hoping to be reimbursed in the future but I definitely feel that my repairs were handled with professional integrity. Many thanks! read more

WILL NOT GO BACK. Brought my fiance's car in because the check engine light came on. Even though they found out that the only reason the check engine light came on was due to the gas cap being loose, they still charged her $70! (Even though this would have been fixed the next time we filled up gas...) And it is not like they were not going to get any business from us. We were also getting the alignment fixed and the oil changed ($150) so you would think you could waive the inspection fee for something so simple... I called to try and get this resolved, and the person I talked to was defensive, not helpful. Times are tough right now, and you would think people would try to help where they can but this seems like a good old fashion screw you over because we can moment. So I showed up at this dealer already wearing body armor and a matching skeptical attitude, expecting more of the same. But I quickly discovered I could actually relax and have a nice demo day there. My salesman was Bobby Aid and he was such a genuinely good guy, knowledgeable and willing to help that I cannot say enough good things about him and my experience as a result. I will never purchase a car from Chuck Olson Kia ever again. My husband and I bought a used car from Mark last year only to discover it was a lemon. We took it to 3+ mechanics who were shocked we were sold the car and advised us to ask for a complete refund. Mark refused to give us a full refund and told us it was essentially our fault for not discovering this sooner along with other ridiculous excuses which equated to him simply not caring at all. He accused me of being a liar and completely disrespected my husband and I. We finally settled on a price after my husband and I decided a year + argument and legal fees weren't worth it. Mark sent the check to the wrong address and refused to communicate with us in regards to where he actually sent the payment. Once again, we were left to figure out a solution to one of Mark's mistakes. The only positive out of the situation is the car is gone, and perhaps that Mark found a way to make commission off of us twice. BUT he told us that there was only one car available in all of Washington in the specific color and trim we wanted, and it was far away and cost extra for delivery. Or, he suggested, we could buy the more expensive trim in that color, which he had on site. We left and took the bus down to the Renton Kia just to check it out. We walked from the bus stop and...you will never guess what was the first car we saw on their lot, literally the first car closest to the bus station. I have to say I was really surprised by the level of service I received here purchasing my 22 Kia Niro EV. It's pretty much a nerd car so maybe they just wanted to get rid of me but the sales process was really pretty smooth. Sure I got the extended warranty offers but a simple decline was sufficient. In this market I expected something above MSRP but the dealer was willing to lower the price on this model to hit the Washington State sales tax exemption. Not so on the EV6 which was selling for $4K over MSRP but that's what I would expect at the moment. I'm glad when my lease was up I found this dealer. Way better than my visit to the Kia dealer in Everett. Now if only the parts department would answer the phone so I can get some rims to mount snow tires...baby steps I guess. read more

Big Five Stars for salesperson Mike Poierri, absolute zero for Brian Schinto. Vote with your feet and find a more professional dealership--you'll be glad you did. Or come prepared to battle with Brian's rude behavior. I was dealing with a delightfully professional and respectful salesperson, Mike Poierri, and was on the verge of buying a very nice, used Mercedes ML500, paying cash (certified check). Then Brian Schinto weighed in on a financial and legal matter, aggressively calling me stupid because, "What do you know? How many cars do you sell? I do this all day long. You're just stupid, you don't know anything..." And lots more. Brian's face was twisted in a scowl, as he was trying to tower over me (while I was seated), telling me that I just didn't know anything. Well, Brian may sell cars all day long, but it doesn't mean he was correct. I didn't get to the Stanford Graduate School of Business by being ill-informed on legal and financial matters, which was illuminated when the firm's financial manager took my side of the argument. And that's really the issue. Why are salespeople arguing with customers in an extremely aggressive way--a way that really felt like it was going to get physical. I can't remember a time when I had been so disrespected. When men talk to other men like this, bad things usually happen as a result. Had my girlfriend not been there at the time, it's very likely we would have come to blows. This might have made the dozen or so other customers in the lobby pretty uncomfortable. At the end of the day, I decided not to make the purchase in large part because I was still very irritated that I had this confrontation with Brian, who was factually incorrect. Mike and I were pretty close in numbers and, had I been feeling differently, would have pulled the trigger. But I should really be saying, "Thank You." Because I didn't purchase from Chuck Olson Kia, and thus didn't continue supporting that asshole used car salesperson, I found the same make and model elsewhere, for $1,900 less, with many more luxury features, and 32,000 fewer miles. Looks like it worked out okay after all. And when my girlfriend buys a new Kia next month, it definitely won't be from Chuck Olson Kia. So much for the idea of building relationships, when we all know that business is very personal. Mike was great but he works at a dealership that supports and maybe encourages terribly rude salespeople like Brian. I'm positive that this is not his first instance of being an asshole. Unfortunately, the other loser in this saga is Mike, who was very informed and nice but lost out on this sale, the future Kia sale, and other potential sales, as both my girlfriend and I are senior executives who make purchasing decisions for our organizations. Brought my Kia Soul I just brought here for some recall repairs recently. I went ahead and called a week ahead to make sure they would be able to serve me and they suggested the following weekend. They were nice enough to see me earlier than my scheduled time which was awesome. I have a believe 3 recalls fixed all under an hour. The customer service here is friendly and quick. The worst experience. I would imagine that if you have good credit, it would not be that bad. Because we have bad credit ( repeat as needed) when you have good credit, you get to sit in the beautiful showroom with the mock leather sofa and the nice coffee machine, when you have bad credit, they send you to a concrete box with some discarded lawn furniture and a Mr Coffee machine. It took us a grand total of 5 trips out there to complete the transaction. Two of which occurred after we had the car in our possession. We would sign papers, only to be told we had to sign new papers. They lost the 2nd key fob, we had to come back for that. Every time we were there, the salesman tried to sell us 2 used cars, because he doesn't make anything selling new cars. ( we heard that repeated) Every time we made a deal, he changed the deal. And it was always the same excuse"Well with your credit......" You know what? We haven't always had bad credit. Our bad credit stems from a specific incident and we are working hard to restore it. So we won't always have bad credit. One thing we will never do is set foot in this dealership again. Which is stupid because it has a sales and service dept (not their fault I know, but still I think I might lose it if they brought up our bad credit as a reason the car is out of alignment or whatever) We will never take this car here for service. We love KIA and intend to continue driving them, but we aren't coming back here. I have told many potential customers not to go there. This was one of the worst, most humiliating experiences of my. And as a bonus we find out yesterday - the first time we need to use the roadside assistance, our gem of a salesperson messed that up as well. This dealership has a shiny new and very clean building. There's a big TV in the waiting room, a fancy coffee machine to play with, activities and toys for the kids, lots of room to wander, and comfortable seating. This dealership also has Brian Schinto, an obnoxious, arrogant, condescending prick of a salesperson who sabotages his coworkers' sales out of jealousy or spite, who knows. At least, it looked like sabotage to me when we were working with Mike Poierri (a great guy) to buy a used Mercedes, and Brian decided to insult us and interfere with Mike's sale. We chose to buy elsewhere. A quick scan of the reviews of this dealership shows that we weren't the only ones who have been treated rudely by Brian, and yet he's still there. After 3 days of looking for a mid-sized SUV for my wife I had all but given up. My wife took the time to search the Internet (while I was at work) and she found 5 (five) potential SUV's at Chuck Olson Kia. Keaton was straight up honest with us and showed us the cars on my wife's list. My wife wanted to drive the dark burgundy colored one so Keaton took us on a great test drive. The Kia was used and Keaton didn't know all the exact details about it but he did a great job finding the answers to our questions which led us to eventually buy it. During the "buying" process another salesman "Demetre" took over from Keaton and that confused my wife and I since were already working with Keaton. Demetre nearly lost the deal from us on a couple occasions due to his "car dealer salesman BS" but since Keaton treated us so good up front my wife and I decided to complete the deal. This is a great place to buy a car! Our sales consultant, Nathan "Big Boy," was very knowledgable about the car we were interested in purchasing. He came back willingly to the dealership after he'd left for the day, and was super pleasant and easy to deal with. No shifty stereotypic car salesman here! He let us test drive the model we were considering. Success! The next day we could come in, Nathan was prepared, with our new Kia extricated from the showroom, fueled, washed, and ready for us to buy! We love our new car! The finance agent was extremely thorough (and entertaining) in explaining all of our options for warrantees so we left feeling protected, not fleeced! My husband and I have been looking for a new truck for a LONG time - we've been as far south as Puyallup and as far north as Burlington looking for one (see my other reviews for two of the other lots we visited). While initially we were wanting only a diesel truck, we were finding that ALL of them had heavily rusted undercarriages. Many of these trucks were from Oregon or back east - and many of the car lots (not 'name brand' car lots but those 'dime a dozen' used lots') were spray painting the rust with black paint. No bueno. Fast forward to this week: my husband found a 2009 Chevy Silverado (gas) at Chuck Olson in Shoreline. It literally ticked all of our boxes, but we couldn't come look at it until yesterday (Friday). We excitedly arrived and within a few minutes, Demetre greeted us in passing from the Kia lot to the Chev lot; he asked if we had been helped and he said no. Although he definitely seemed to be on a mission, he stopped what he was doing to talk to us. After thoroughly inspecting the undercarriage and outside of the truck, we knew we wanted to test drive. Demetre got the keys and came with us for the ride - besides NWMS in Puyallup, this was the only other car lot where the salesperson came with us. Demetre was great - no pressure whatsoever, very knowledgeable about the truck and we immediately hit it off with him. It felt like we were driving with a friend, not a salesperson - and I can't say I've ever said that about a car salesperson before - suffice to say, we think Demetre is awesome!! It didn't take long for us to decide that this was the truck we've been waiting for - it took a month or two of searching car lots all over the place to find this gem. Besides the fact it had the trim package and full 4 doors we were looking for, it was one local owner and had super low miles. Or as my husband's friend called it - an "old man truck" (because of how well it was taken care of). The negotiating process was surprisingly painless. We went back and forth a couple times, fairly quickly arriving at the magic number. Even signing the financial paperwork with Jack was painless and quick - and again, no pressure to 'upgrade' for warranty, etc. From the moment we arrived to the moment we drove off the lot with our new truck, we did so in about 2 hours. We can't speak highly enough about Demetre - he was just that great. As for our experience being first time buyers at Chuck Olson, we left as very happy customers. They just happened to have what we wanted for the price we wanted. Will we be back? When we need a car in the future, and if they have what we are looking for, we will most definitely return... and probably seek out Demetre if he's still there :). read more

Went in to Chuck Olson Kia for my first "grownup" car purchase ever. Up until now I had either not driven, or driven a POS. I was apprehensive going to a lot, but did some homework on the car I wanted, so I felt moderately confident. Mark Murray was as easy-going as it gets. I did not feel any pressure, he answered my questions patiently and in a straight-forward manner. When haggling on the Sonata I really wanted fell through I expected him to either pressure me to spend more than I budgeted, or kick me to the curb. I had 2 cars I wanted to see at Chuck Olson's Kia. When I walked into the dealership I was welcomed in by Nathan. I asked Nathan to show me the cars I was interested in. Nathan was very helpful, friendly and easy going. As I test drove the one that I liked Nathan educated me on the features and benefits of the vehicle. From the first time he contacted me after my inquiry on True Car thru my in- person visit to the lot (he came in on his off-hours to accommodate my schedule!) Best of all, despite my mom and I coming in an hour before closing and 4 hours after he had gotten off of work, Mr. Berg was unbelievably patient and allowed me to drive 5 different cars on the lot.
