I had my 2015 Jeep Wrangler towed to Chuck Patterson -Toyota due to 1/9/2025. For a diagnostic at the recommendations of my longtime mechanic, whom I'd trusted and had work completed on previous projects. My truck was towed in because it went into limp mode while driving my niece to School. I needed a second opinion due to throttle body assembly not functioning properly after my mechanic tried replacing. Before my truck arrived, I was quoted $89 over the phone for diagnostic. Once my truck arrived at Chuck Patterson Toyota I was told the price had increased to $205 which, was not clearly explained or justified. Unfortunately, the diagnostic performed was incomplete and did not provide any new information beyond what was known. I expected for them to at least check the connector and ground wiring, etc.. The report I received failed to pinpoint the root cause of the issue or offer any meaningful direction for repair. Instead, I got an overpriced guesstimate, incomplete report. Really difficult experience in the used car sales department. We will not be back to Patterson for a vehicle.

We researched trucks and decided on the Ram extended cab. Wanted to buy from a huge dealer up in Idaho but being that it was the dead of winter and the drive in the snow back home wasn't our idea of fun, we looked around locally to see if they could at least match the offer. It was between Red Bluff Dodge and Chuck Patterson. Given we'd want service and would like to keep that local too, we gave Chuck Patterson a whirl despite the negative comments we've heard from friends. On the day the deal was supposed to be done, the sales associate presented the paperwork, all signed off, everything agreed upon. My husband said great, he'd take it home to speak with me. The associate immediately pulled the contract back and said that he didn't need to consult with me. Deal off. We went to Red Bluff and haven't been happier. Side note: The associate stirred up a stink with my husband's employer after all was said and done. I won't go into details, but I caution you to be very careful about dealing with these backwoods chauvinists. Their service isn't much better, either. read more

I had a Lexus that was recently serviced... complete oil change. Drove it 300 miles to find that there wasn't a drop of oil in the car! Luckily, I was in Paradise and had the car hauled to Chuck Patterson... where I was greeted by Darren in Service. Noi appointment, nothing. He was courteous, helpful and took care of me in about an hour. The price was incredible. This is a big shout out to Darren and his efforts! If I could give zero stars I would. They lie to you and tell you things to get you to come back. We told them a price with the condition that they do an alignment and balance on the truck (it was pulling and the steering had a wobble). It went back and forth over the phone for a couple of days and then finally they said yes we will do that and put in writing that we will make it right with the alignment issue. Well we get there to sign and they take all our info and such then the manager I believe was Eric but he didn't even introduce himself to us by the way comes out and tells us he can do it for the price we wanted but can't do the alignment or balance. So basically we were going to pay a big price tag for a truck that might have an alignment issue that they were not willing to take care of. Really an alignment is what maybe $100??! Oh and not to mention the price we offered was only about $1400 off the original price haha. So I would stay away from that business if you want the sales team to be honest and not lie about what you are getting. Sales guys were very nice but I think the issue was up at the top. Not willing to work with us made us walk. No worries we will find a much better truck at a great price somewhere else. We have time to look is the good thing. read more

Went to this dealership to trade in my Highlander and purchase my fourth Toyota. I was told during the paperwork my Highlander was not worth what I paid for it at Lodi Toyota, and that those salesmen were very unkind to me with the pricing. Mind you, I bought this Highlander 1 year ago for 15k at 103k miles. Traded it in to Toyota at 123k miles. I was offered 8900 trade in value and was told that was honest, and the negative equity was because Lodi Toyota was dishonest. I went forward with the deal and put the negative equity on my new auto loan. Guess what my Highlander is advertised for now? $14,999. I was completely lied to, and really thought they were being honest. I get they want to make a profit, but at least be honest about it. You really just can't trust what they say. read more

We call car sales men the sharks when we go looking for a new car. But this place is full of the biggest tuna fish ever. Only thing they have going for them is the lies and pressure. I just can't write the full story here, it's been 3 years since my dad bought my brother a brand new Toyota Tundra truck. For that entire period we had an oil leakage problem and continued to take it back to them to get it serviced. Every time they said they "fixed it" but after a few weeks it started again. It got to the point they told us they didn't know what it was and to come back at a different time when that had a better mechanic on the clock....again we brought back the truck to get it fixed and they agreed they understood the problem and will fix it for a few thousand. We said well its under a 2 year warranty and they replied with "sorry it expired a few days ago" This whole problem will probably end up in a court some where some time soon. Worse lying cheating scum works here.... THEY DIDN'T EVEN TELL US THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRUCK! THEY LIED! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE DON'T SET FOOT OR THE TUNA MAY ATTACK! read more

While I had no issues trading in my SUV for a used BMW they had available, I did have issues with the lack of communication the service department had with the used car department. Trying to find out anything about your car while it is being serviced there is impossible. Also, when I purchased my used BMW from them, the salesman told me that all the belts had been replaced and the car serviced. A few months later, today in fact, one of the belts in my BMW completely shredded while I was driving it. This makes me think I was lied to. read more

We were talking a deal with the salesman and he was friendly then he brought in a financial manager which was the typical sleezy jerk. The salesman said the price was x, then the other guy came in and said the price was a 1000 higher then that. He sat down slouched back smacking his gum, and talking to us like we were stupid because the price they were asking was already a couple thousand above blue book. Very unprofessional and cocky. Salesmam named Frank..avoid. Pulled a bait n switch on me. I test drove a Prius 4 with back up camera, etc. Went in to sign papers. Noticed people looki g at car. Salesman said that wasnt the same car. I signed con tract, and drove off. Turns out the vehicle was a lower priced model, without back up camera. Contract price was for a Prius 3 or 4, but they slipped a Prius 2 to me. Only found out when permanent registration came. So I was overcharged $2,300.00. read more

I drove down to Sacramento to buy my Camry because these guys are notoriously sketchy. I felt they could handle the factory warranty maintenance however, which you can take to any Toyota dealer. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT HAVE YOUR MAINTENANCE DONE HERE. They just had to do an oil change at 10K. They got it half right, they drained it. As I left the car began to fail. They had not put oil back into the car. Really?! Then there was the complete run around afterward with zero accountability for their actions. Please don't go anywhere near this place... I bought a used truck from them in spring 2014. The same night I drove it off the lot, as I was parking it at home the truck turned off on me. I kid you not.. I went back the following morning to talk to the salesman that sold me the truck. His name was Sergio. He told me there was nothing he can do about it. Typical used car salesman. All they want to do is sale the car and not deal with the bullshit. I spoke to Brad, the sales manager and told him what had happend. He asked me if I made sure the truck had oil, antifreeze and gas.... I was already frustrated as it was and by him asking me that, just pissed me off even more.. I literally just bought the truck the night before. He would not admit they sold me a busted truck...They had a diagnostic done on the truck and concluded that I needed a new engine. Since Chuck Patterson doesn't specialize on Ford's, my truck was going to be worked on by Mikes Auto Shop. It's located next to Chuck Patterson. Chuck Patterson did pay for my rental ill give them that. Weeks would pass by and I would never get calls back from Patty. She was supposed to call me back with the status of my truck but never did. I had to always go in there to look for her. Long story short, they said they put a "new engine" on my truck 2 months later... Let's be real here, they never put a new engine on my truck. Yes they worked on it, but the issue was never completely fixed. After a couple of months, the truck started experiencing more related issues. Replacing an engine is a lot of money and being the money hungry sharks that they are, it was not in their best interest to fix it. Don't buy from Chuck Patterson!!!!! read more

I'd suggest before taking the problems to the court you might let Toyota know, particularly about the failure to provide service that was on a recall notice properly. I think they can be fined or some other type of corporate "punishment". I think there is a Lemon Law in California too, isn't there? Use it when you go to court. I'll go there to sit in a car and test drive it to see if it is comfortable, then leave. I really appreciate all the interesting comments and will not buy from this dealership. He was knowledgeable, easy going, and very accommodating of our schedule. We traded in another vehicle, and received a fair trade-in value with very little back and forth negotiation. I own an auto repair shop here in chico and ordered parts from them for a customers vehicle, just a small $3 clip for the transmission cable. Two days later I didn't receive part and called them to find my part. I was put on hold for 5 minutes and was then told that they completely forgot to order the part, I explained to him that My customer was frustrated and could we please get the parts here Saturday so I can get the customer his car, the parts guy agreed and said he would be there at 10am on Saturday and give me the parts. I showed up and he did not! I waited for 45 minutes and started to worry. I asked all around and nobody knew anything about my part, also just a note, I had the employee waiting at my shop for the parts to fix the car for the customer! After 1 hour I talked to the sales manager and complained and he looked for the part but could not find it, so he gave me the number for the boss Craig Marr. I called him on Monday to complain and he did nothing transferred my call to the guy who forgot to order my parts. He said the parts were taped to the door in parts dept. so apparently me, the sales manager and 50 others were blind and cant see! No apology, no well make it up to you, The most incompetent people ive ever dealt with! This is my review about Chuck Patterson Jeep. This is a classic bait and switch dealership. I negotiated a price with their sales person for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Summit with all the options i wanted. Drove from Redding to Chico (a 3 hour round trip) and called before i left so they knew i was coming. when i arrived and filled out paper i was informed the car i was purchasing had been sold the night before!!! I brought my Jeep into Chuck Patterson after I was told I have a coolant leak and needed a new water pump after getting and oil change. I had to wait a week just to get an 8 a.m. service appointment. It took them three hours to just get my Jeep on the lift! Then they did "pressure tests" and told me since they couldn't recreate the leak, they weren't gonna do anything, basically wrote me off as unimportant and charged me for labor. I could have left if alone at that, but I didn't. I went up to Corning Jeep, got right in and they confirmed my problem and are replacing the part under my extended warranty no problem. Will NEVER return to Chuck Patterson and I don't recommend anyone takes their vehicle there. read more

I drove straight over to Courtesy on Cohassett and bought the same car, with stellar service and they treated me and my partner like the hardworking couple we are. I ordered some parts and was very disappointed. I called for a status check 3 days ago, left a message and didn't hear back. Called two days later and told the receptionist to have them call me. I have been a loyal customer for 11 years. It is not the closest dealer to my house, but I have used them as I have been satisfied with their work. I brought my car in as the heater would not turn off. They found nothing wrong with the heater. OK I guess that sometimes happens. The heater was working appropriately when I left, but by the time I got home it was on full blast again. I took my car back a few weeks later. The man in the service department got in my car and said yes it was broken. They would have to keep my car for 2 days as the part would have to be ordered and the dash would have to come out. I made an appointment for 8am the next Tuesday to get the heater fixed. When I arrived there were 3 people in front of me. The service man waited on one, saw me in line, told the man in front of me I had an 8am appointment and took me first. I told him my car had started to smoke. After asking a few diagnostic questions he said it was nothing to worry about. He said goodbye. I thought it was wierd he did not give me any paperwork. I guess you could say it was miscommunication, but I had an 8 am appointment to get the heater fixed so I assumed I would get the heater fixed. I was telling him about a new problem that had come up. I thought he was going to do the paperwork after I left as we had discussed price on my previous visit. When I called the next day the same rep that had waited on me the previous day was totally confused. He thought I had left, taking my car with me. He did not even realize I had brought my car in to get worked on. How did they account for my keys? I live 45 minutes from the dealer. With the 3 trips I made, this involved 4 1/2 hours of driving. I went to pick up my car. The service rep said there was another problem. When they had moved my car so I could pick it up they had locked my keys in the car. Why hadn't he called me and asked me to bring my extra set of keys or fixed the problem before I arrived? The service department is not the same quality it used to be. I will no longer use them. I will not buy a new car from them. read more

Our Toyota had a failed catalytic converter, and it was covered under the California Emissions Warranty. However, when I brought the car in, they denied that it was covered, and one guy even looked in a little pamphlet and started quoting limitations of the Federal Guidelines. I can't believe he was that ignorant, no service advisor could be that uniformed. When I suggested he look at the State of California's website to verify the warranty provisions, he made some derisive comment about Covered California. Before they would do anything, I had to sign an agreement to pay for the labor of reading the on-board computer, which would cost 160 bucks. I had already read the code, which took two minutes and a twenty dollar reader. They kept the car for a day before finally agreeing that they did have to honor the warranty, and replaced the faulty unit without charge. Toyota pays far less for labor and gives no profit on provided parts replaced under warranty, but if Patterson would have had a less informed customer, they could have had a nice profit from the two thousand dollars they could have charged me. I've also, in the past, stood there and watched them recommend repairs to an elderly lady's car that I thought were questionable. If you need to go in for warranty work, do you research online before setting foot in Chuck Patterson. I can't trust them, and won't. read more

WORST DEALERSHIP AND EXPERIENCE EVER!! After having my car totaled in a car accident in March I was needing a new car ASAP. I reasearched and test drove about 15 different makes and models before deciding I wanted a Prius C. I wanted to keep my bussiness local and thus gave this dealership a try. I knew more about the Prius C then the salesman Brandon did and I had to inform him of features and specifics on the car. However, I needed a car ASAP and knew for myself what the car was worth and what I was getting. I had pre-approval for financing through Toyota before coming into the dealership. SO.. They had me put a deposit down and promised me that the car I wanted was being shipped to the dealership and would be there the next day.The next day I was called to be told that the car I had put a deposit on had been sold. I also found out that they had ran my credit without my authorization. I had not signed anything! When I confronted the customer service specialist all he could do was agree that they were wrong! Needless to say I took my business elsewhere and recommend you do the same. If it were possible to give a negative amount of stars this dealership would earn the most for lack of customer service and integrity. HORRIBLE from start to finish!!! read more

Our FIRST new car (a 2011 Prius purchased in 2012 )experience Chuck Patterson Chico California. I will start off with I truly highly recommend you do not purchase a vehicle FROM Chuck Patterson Chico California. Steve Zitnoski sold us our Prius (with the paint problem we are bumper). Truth is we love the car. Problem is Steve was not a man of his word. We were promised at the time of contract signing that Chuck Patterson would be required to repair the rear bumper. To the current day MAY 2017 this problem has been a continuous problem. The bumper, to this day, has given us problems. Chuck Patterson has admitted to damaging on the car and has admitted that it was caused due to an employee that made bad decisions that is no longer working in that department. They admit that they caused when they tried to fix the paint blemish. The Bumper has slid down and OFF kind of multiple times. They have attempted to fix it many times. And it has now been become known that the reason why their last attempt to fix it was working, was only due to them gluing the bumper pieces on. (We took it to a certified dealer and they found that the bumper had been glued on )All we ( our family of four )have asked Chuck Patterson to do is Fix what they promised they would originally fix. Currently I am scared to drive our kids down the road. Do not purchase through Steve Z. Like they say "get it in writing". There is much more to his story. Not to mention that they broke our air filter box and want us to pay for it. And also not to mention when they did or airbag recall ...we found that the hood had been dropped and scratched. The repair shop that did this work is partly the cause of all the incidences mentioned. But it is truly Chuck Patterson's negligence to not repair the bumper for our family that is my reason for writing this today. Please all know that they will do absolutely nothing to repair even the items that they are required to repair. And that they truly are only out for themselves. I also experienced them pretty much bad mouthing every person that came through their door. And every single customer that called in. I witness this while getting a basic oil change. If the employees working at the desk representing the company have so little concerned with compassion for their customers. Because it is bred into them by the ownership and management team at Chuck Patterson. Just think about what is really going on while they work on your vehicle. This is a review for the towing service that I experienced with them. They came to my home to tow my truck to chuck Patterson's. I watched as they left my driveway and hit every branch along the way down, didn't even make an attempt to miss the branches or use the other side of the driveway. I called to inform Chuck Patterson about the drivers actions. Then when it came time to pick up my truck, I had saw the extent to the new damages. several deep scratches to the metal from the back window to the grill, over the top of the truck cab and the whole driver side. I had made a fuss of this and they claimed they will fix the damages and or pay me out right. Also when it finally came time to tow my truck back home they turned me down because my tags had lapsed, even though they lapsed in their parking lot. So they were going to make me pay my registration before they tow it, when the vehicle is non operable and they said if I non op the truck I also have to get a moving permit. So more money I was going to have to pay before I can get my truck back. on top of that they threatened to charge me $40 a day for storage fees for the truck until I do this... She had said "If our owner shows up and sees the truck we will have to charge you a $40 daily storage charge, until it is moved." They threaten to TOW the truck to their storage yard even though they turned down my tow home. The next day I got the truck non op and a moving permit. I paid for all this, when in the end, they didn't even look at the paperwork. It has now been 3 months. I got 1 phone call from them, just to say they fired their towing manager and will get to our claim. We have even tried to get a hold of Pat Patterson but no one calls back. read more
