Tried again, still not bad but not great. It's the quintessential greasy spoon diner. Cash only but they got an atm inside. The coffee is generic and the foods good enough. The place has some wear on it, but the common touch areas are clean. Servers are nice and helpful. Always make sure your tiny coffee cup was full. Overall, it's okay

I met with the guys on May 7, '23 who produced the movie titled "The Supermarket". These are folks who used to work at long-gone Ellington Supermarket (where the movie was filmed). A local breakfast eatery which is all about classic fine dining where the good souls eat and meet good friends. If you're from Ellington and you have never visited this establishment before, I encourage you to spend a dime on real comfort food. From Eggs Benedict to Fish & Chips to French Toast, its restaurant is more than just a breakfast eatery. Subs and fried Seafood are good lunch deals. They're so delicious that you'll want to come back. Food is tasty, staff are courteous and the atmosphere resembles locality. It is one of Ellington's finest dining establishments the community has to offer If you want to enjoy breakfast dining experience, consider visiting this establishment because there's a lot of items to find on the menu that is really good. Folks, hop on Chuck Wagon and ride along for excellent food. Excellent service!

I ordered two poached eggs, bacon, and home fries. The bacon was fine, a little chewy but some people like that. The home fries, again, fine. But, the eggs we cold and disgusting. Poached eggs, by their very nature, are cooked uniformly. Unlike fried eggs, they are submerged in water and cooked all the way around. These eggs came back with uncooked whites that resembled mucus. I'm sure the eggs were sitting there, waiting on the other orders to be fulfilled. Not wanting to be a hassle, I plowed through, scooping the cold uncooked whites to the side and discovered a piece of not so small egg shell in it. I told the waitress there was an egg shell in the eggs, they were a bit undercooked and cold. Instead of receiving an apology or accommodations, she said she'll share the info with the owner. I was then given an excuse as to why there was an egg shell in the eggs "we use farm fresh eggs and they're very fragile". I use farm fresh eggs at home, they are fragile. It doesn't take more than a moment to remove the shell before cooking and serving it to a customer. She didn't remove the meal from the ticket or discount it and she never apologized. Like I said, just an excuse. All that being said, the place is beautiful, indoors and outside. My wife's pancake was delicious. I'm sure many things on the menu are delicious. They also seemed short staffed. And I won't wright a place off because of one meal and one server. Could be an off day for the chef/cook. The server isn't a always an indicator of the restaurant's values. I do wish she was more accommodating - especially at those prices - but it could've been a perfect storm of being short staffed, rushed cook, and a server that doesn't care.

The place was packed when I got there, lots of locals all enjoying their company and their dishes. Got a seat at the counter right away, grabbed a menu and checked through their offerings. Decided on French toast with real maple syrup and biscuits and gravy. Food came out quick especially with the crowd. Everything was cooked, the French toast was okay. Not soaked enough, toasted with butter but not a lot of cinnamon in the dredge. Not great, but very functional. The biscuits and gravy were very much a northern take on the southern classic. Grands biscuits grilled on the flat top with grey goopy gravy on top. Very lackluster. The staff was very friendly, and the price was very cheap. Even with the golden delicious branded syrup upcharge the bill was only 12 dollars. Which is very affordable given the quality was not so great. As a generic diner, it does basic dishes well enough. There's not a ton of breakfast spots around, so it does well as that local greasy spoon. Doesn't need to be fancy, cause it's one of the few places in town and they are serviceable. I wouldn't drop by on my travels, but if you need cheap eats then this place will fit the bill

Here is my reasons behind a 4* star review... 1. It's clean and nice inside. I like the fact that it even has an old Simpsons arcade game and looks like you can play table games in there as well. 2. The owner was a nice dude and he makes everything fresh. He was waiting tables and cooking. He takes pride in what he does and I appreciate that. 3. They offer vegetarian options which for me, is always a reason I will try a place. I had both vegetarian tacos and they were pretty tasty (the broccoli one wins for me! Tofu one pretty good too tho) BROCCO TACO Fire-roasted broccoli, garlic black bean purée, chipotle tomato jelly, micro greens, and toasted sesame seeds. $7 and THAI TOFU TACO Crispy tofu, homemade peanut sauce, "trimchi," toasted sesame seeds and scallions.* $7 4. (BATATAS BRAVAS Hand-cut, twice-fried garlic cilantro french fries. Served with kimchi ketchup and smack sauce) $9. The fries were good but not my favorite. They a little too greasy, I liked the garlic, it's very garlicky but for me I like extra garlic. It came with the tiniest dipping sauce, which i wish there was more of... 5. My fiancé got a quesadilla (RAJAS QUESADILLA Strips of creamy peppers and onions grilled with our 7-cheese blend in a 12" flour tortilla, topped with cotija cheese. Served with sour crema and salsa $11) which was pretty good but small for the price. We both love quesadillas and I would eat that again. 6. Overall I liked No coast. It was a little too pricey for me which is what will keep me from visiting frequently. $14 for 2 small tacos that were gone in very literally 2 bites, I was actually still hungry when I left. But prices are high everywhere and running a restaurant isn't cheap. If it was 3 tacos for $14 it would be easier to want to visit again. For almost $50 it was just a little too much for me. Either way, No coast is cooking fresh, and trying hard. It's worth it to give them a try.
