This is a staple diner located in Westchester. It has been around for quite a long time and when you step inside it is like traveling back in time. I see some people complaining about it here in the comments but I find it charming. The menu consists of hearty American breakfast options. I suggest the chocolate chip pancakes, the pecan pancakes, and the Belgian waffle for my sweet toothers. They taste delicious and homemade, unlike these chain restaurant places. The eggs and toast are always perfect. The location doesn't have a huge parking lot but I have never had an issue with parking. The waiters/waitresses are all super friendly. It appears you really have to enjoy this restaurant for what it is, which is a no-frills, southern, rustic diner with the intention of filling you up with large quantities of food, without too much of a concern for health or quality. That being said, I suppose it fits the bill. We went with the grand slam breakfasts for the table and an order of blueberry pancakes to share. Although everything was relatively ok, I wasn't wowed by anything in particular. It's all very simple, straightforward fare done on a single cooktop. This all started with a trip to Bike Tech on Bird Rd. My fiance had purchased a tune up group on for me and before it expired i made it over. I made sure to go early on Saturday, so i wouldn't waste such a nice day at the bike shop. The lil one was with me and she was hungry for some breakfast. I looked up on Yelp a local breakfast spot and this place showed up with pretty good ratings. So we decided to stop on by and find out if what the reviews were true. When I first walked in, I noticed all the hometown memorabilia hanging on the walls. I got to say they pretty much won me over considering I've always been a fan of all the home teams. We were greeted and sat at a booth by the window. The waitress that was serving us wasn't very pleasant and i was NOT getting a good vibe from her. I'm not sure if she was just having a bad day or if the older lady was just rude to us. I did start off with asking her what did she recommend or whats popular, considering it was my first visit here. I did not feel like she wanted to help out due to the answers she was giving me. I decided to order what called my attention, which was some house sauteed potatoes with melted cheese and eggs over the top. I have to say it was really good and it takes a lot for me to say that about something so simple. Forgot to mention the lady that brought our food was very nice, friendly and attentive even though we weren't her siting at one of her tables. Another one of the waitress even stopped by and complimented me on how well i was doing with the lil one. I mention this because it kind of made up for the grumpy older lady attending us initially. Moral of the story... The food isn't super amazing but I can promise the service and food will be better than the ihop across the street. I've gotten their steak and eggs before and the steak was a bit tough and overdone. However, their pancakes and biscuits are pretty good! We go here practically every weekend now. Their eggs Benedict is a little too salty for my taste but my boyfriend loved it. Their veggie omelette needed a little bit more prep to cut the veggies smaller and to cook the potatoes longer. One day the potatoes are perfect and another it's a bit underdone. So they're a little inconsistent but they're so nice that they will sincerely ask you how the food is. So go ahead and let them know. Visited this location for the first time today, our server Rosie went absolutely above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, she went to the extends of giving us both baked and grilled biscuits. The country fried steak was gas !!!!!! Biscuits and corn bread made fresh in house, which is not seen very often anymore. We decided to stop in after seeing all the positive reviews for breakfast. It sounded like a mom and pop place that was yummy but after visiting I honestly wish I could give this "restaurant" 0 stars. Service was terrible. The only time the waitress was at our table was to take our order and then when I had to ask for the check. Our empty cups of water were never refilled and I asked for other silverware when I noticed ours were dirty and was never brought other silverware. We were still eating and someone came over to the table to take our dishes which I found terribly rude. The food was cold and crappy looking when it came out. The eggs didn't look like real eggs and the sausage gravy was cold. The bacon wasn't cooked and the home fries were still raw. It was not worth the time or money to eat and I will not be back. I love the Chuck Wagon! It's old and tired, but that adds to the charm. The waitresses are super friendly, and the owner is always at the cash register. At least I think he's the owner. This restaurant is putrid. My friends and I decided to go here to have a good time, and we were very disappointed. To start off, we sat in two tables, and one of the waitresses REFUSED to take one of our table's order. Next, my friend was brought a glass of water, and there was a DEAD FLY lying there on the ice. Next, the napkins were dirty, with pebbles of dust on them. And to top everything off, I'm frustrated and as I'm looking into my glass, I lift my straw and find a long piece of HAIR attached to the end!!!! I know this restaurant quite well. First of all, when you go inside ,the restaurant looks disgusting, like if it hasnt been remodeled since 1975. But don't let that fool you into not eating there. They serve traditional American breakfast, very similiar to Cracker Barrell. Pretty good, plus it's hard to find a place in the area that serves biscuits and gravy. And although it looks dirty,they keep the kitchen pretty clean, and when something falls on the floor they don't put it back on the plate, they throw it away. read more

Just went to breakfast there, and on first impression, I thought we should have left. I should always listen to my instincts. The place is old, dingy, and in dire need of a good cleaning. The booth that we sat in had a sticky substance that my arms stuck to. Not a good start. We ordered standard breakfast fare. Mine was the pecan pancakes, 2 medium poached eggs, and bacon. Our friend ordered 2 eggs over medium, and toast. My husband ordered pork chops and eggs. When our food arrived, there were several issues. My bacon looked like the thin, limp, leftover scraps of the package. Possibly even left from someone else. I seriously wish that I had taken a picture. It was so undercooked that I didn't even want it on my plate. When the waitress came over, I asked if I could get crispy bacon. She acted irritated, and brings over a small empty plate, and literally says "I'll have them throw it back on the grill". I had already determined that I wasn't going to eat refried bacon. I also wondered if that wasn't against heath codes. Our friend then cut into his "over medium eggs" and the whites were still slimey. The girl that was filling our coffee overheard and asked if he wanted them redone. He said no, but our server then shows up, and first says "didn't you order them over medium?". He said "yes but they are slimey". She again says "we can cook them more". He said "no, thank you. I'll just eat my toast" she then grabs his plate from him, and says we will cook you new eggs". No apologies - just a very aggressive attitude. Then I look at my medium poached eggs and see that it, too, had a slimey white. I didn't say anything because now it is just annoying. She brought new eggs to our friend and says "next time you should order them medium hard"! My husbands pork chops were the injected, super cheap variety and made him sick to his stomach after we left. What a horrible experience. The server needs to either find a different job or get some people skills.
