We were extremely disappointed in our experience. The driver showed up already agitated and informed us he was not able to tow the truck with a camper in the bed. We quickly removed the camper and he said he would be back in 30 minutes to get the truck. After an hour we called the dispatcher who informed us the truck was no longer coming and that they couldn't help us. They were extremely rude and combative on the phone, accusing us of not actually owning the truck (the truck is in our name so I have no idea what that is about). First off you went out of your way to try to screw me out of my AAA membership by twisting my words around. I was Towing it to my mechanics house which afterwards I was going to sell, AAA had a record of my statement. After fixing the car my plan was to sell and you asked me if my car was registered which I stated it was not and then you asked if I was going to sell it which I said yes you took that as the fact that I'm selling it to the person I'm towing. You then rudely interrupted me and took my words out of context and intentionally try to screw me out of my AAA discount. You then took it a step further by wanting to tell AAA exactly what happened and make it a point to deny services. I'm taking this extremely personal because you did not do your job which was to tow my car and get paid. We both know that it was not two to three inches of clearance and if you actually did your job and came out and looked at it you would realize that there was plenty of clearance to pull it out in fact I called another company and they had no problem Towing it out and here's the evidence with a picture so all your members know that you're full of s***! read more

This review is 3 months late. Anyway, We were on our way to Morro Bay for the weekend and ended up in an accident. We managed to get the vehicle to our destination, but could only make left turns. The bumper on the truck was way to crushed to be pulled out enough to turn right. Trust me, we tried. I called a body shop to ask if they could help by just pulling the bumper out a bit. No luck. What they did recommend is Chuck's Towing. I called and explained the situation. They put me on hold for a bit, and I thought to myself, oh no! They don't want to talk to me, I'm a woman, I probably don't know what I'm talking about. I was surprised when they came back on the line and apologized for the hold and said they could send someone right over but it would cost $80.00. That's it??? Geez, send them over. Excellent, well run business. My mother got her car stuck in a foot of sand at 10:30 at night thanks to the crappy Los Osos roads and detours. I tried to get it out, and after about 30 minutes of futile efforts I called in the big guns. Looking back at my phone for time records, I called Chuck's at 10:56 PM, I was told it would be about 15 minutes. I get outside at 11:03 and I see him pulling down our street. The car was out of the sand at 11:15. Fast and friendly driver. I didn't catch his name, but he was great, punctual, and generally awesome. I paid $500 to them for a tow and less than 24 hour storage. I told the police my friend could drive the car. They said it had to be towed. This was not a DUI either, it was an unusual circumstance. They charged my barely 18 year old son over $600 to tow his car 4.5 miles after his accident. They wouldn't accept our tow insurance or take the vehicle to the yard we had arranged through our insurance. They told him it HAD to go to their yard. Then they told him it would be another $65 a day to store his totaled vehicle unless he signed the title over to them. He was young & shaken up after his accident & had no idea how to handle the situation and was totally taken advantage of by these predatory tow drivers. Needless to say, when I got home from work and found out what happened, I was furious. The only reason I gave them two stars is because they offered to take the vehicle to the yard I had arranged for salvage at no charge, that's after I called and threatened to take them to small claims court! read more

Yesterday, I couldn't get my car out of park. Chuck's towing came over and was able to fix the problem so I could drive it to the repair shop. The first young man who showed up could NOT have been nicer, but he was not having much luck with the shifter. Another Chuck's towing truck showed up, in the area to see if he was able to help me. They really DO go above and beyond! So two more guys came to help, and between the three of them they were able to dislodge it, then the young man backed it out for me, and pointed it at the street to make sure I could drive on. They didn't leave until they were SURE I could get the car off of the property. I can't say enough nice things about these guys. I've used them before (when I drove my car into a sand spit) and my son wrote the glowing review. This time, I want to make sure I say THANK YOU to Chuck's Towing. These guys were awesome. We were out of town visitors leaving in our packed up car to go home when the car wouldn't start. AAA sent Chuck's Towing who arrived promptly and changed out our battery. I had a flat tire, called AAA and they dispatched Chuck's Towing to help me. James was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. He tried to inflate the tire first, and when it did not work he helped me to locate my "flat tire kit" (placed under the seat, good luck finding it on your own!) and figured it our and used it to fix the tire. He also explained my options - to be towed or drive my car if the tire holds. He offered to accompany me to the tire place in case the tire gets flat again. Very impressive. It hurts to give these guys even one star! My wife tried dealing with them and they treated her so badly that she got me on the phone with them. It seemed like they really didn't want to do it saying that they were going to have to get the car down to the street before they could load it. They then said I couldn't use AAA Because they didn't deem it as an emergency, and AAA is only roadside assistance. Basically it was too hard for them so they whined their way out of it. I just called AAA again explained the situation so they sent Smitty's towing out. The guy backed up the driveway loaded it up in about 10 minutes and did it all like he didn't hate his job. HUGE props to Chucks Towing in Morro Bay...they came to fix my flat tire at my home, but Fiat doesn't give you a spare tire, they give you some glue to shoot into the tire...long story I still have not idea what it was. Anyway, they did their thing, and got my tire drivable again to make it to Hinsons in Morro Bay.
