Pina Colada w/ Meyers Rum float - refreshing and not too sweet!
    Amber E.

Can't beat the location - beautiful pool and Mountain Views. It's your typical pool bar - burgers. Sandwiches, salads, nachos, quesadillas, appetizers, beer, wine and cocktails. Pricing also fairly typical for a pool bar - about $18 for food; $15 for cocktails. $2 off drinks during happy hour, 3-close daily. Mostly order at the counter, but there was usually one server walking around the pools, taking drink orders. One server even did a dance for the guests every hour or so! This time, I just got the pina colada w/ Meyer rum float. And it was refreshing, not too strong. But not too sweet. You can pay extra for a "double." The mango tango was beautiful, and frozen mojito looked pretty tasty, too. Today being St. Patrick's day, they had some St. Patty's Day drink specials, too!

Great day laying by the pool, but the food wasn't that great... 73 and beautiful... line to order and a line to pick up... no alcohol unless you buy lunch.....since Covid no waitress/ waiter service .....I guess we will survive....

As someone who spent many years as a chef- take this review as someone who knows what they are taking about. You HAVE to eat these fish tacos! Perfectly balanced, flavor is there, the freshness is there, just a perfect lunch! I appreciated all of the non-alcoholic options for beverages as well for those who don't drink & for my kiddos as well. The staff here was amazing. I particularly appreciate Guillermo & Israel. I hope you all tip them BIG as well. These guys were quick and super friendly. "A lot of love went into this drink!" was told to me and I believe it. My husband had some cocktails and he enjoyed them very much. It is pricy like every other resort pool bar- but I wasn't mad at it. I was happy to pay what it cost!

This is a bar and grill located in the Shadow Ridge resort by one of their pools, the Chuckwalla, hence the name!! At poolside I never expect good food but at a resort I thought just maybe!! Well I was wrong!!! For starters the food order is placed at the bar where drinks are made. They should have their own window for that. We were given a buzzer to notify us when it was ready. It took a long time to get the food being it wasn't busy at that time. We ordered an appetizer which didn't come out until we got the whole order. The appetizer was called PALM PALM shrimp. We didn't ask ahead what it was but we were not expecting teriyaki sauced small shrimp laying on a bed of lettuce with a side of shredded raw carrots and celery pieces. It was the weirdest app I've ever had. I just didn't understand it, lol!! As for the rest of the food well it wasn't the best. My son had a corn dog and fries which is hard to mess up. The fries were good though!! My daughter had fish tacos which I ordered plain, just fish and tortilla, but they still put tartar sauce and somehow got it on the side of fruit. My California wrap was turkey, cheese and some greens. Tasted like it was sliced deli meat with American cheese and no dressing inside. Again, the fries were good at least!! The best part was the hubby's Cobb salad! It was fresh and had lots of egg and bacon. I was definitely happy with the bar drinks though!! Beer is served in an ice cup so it doesn't go warm. Michelada was made with a spicy kick!!

Very good food for being pool side and better than I expected. The tacos are very tasty and the fries are really good.

Cocktails were made right, pretty and just the right amount of spirits. Excellent service with a personable waiter. Second night we were seated too close to live music and moved so we could talk. Favorite starters were Peppercorn Crusted Ahi and Japanese Crispy Pork Belly ( just a teeny bit dry). Best entrees for us were Seared Scallops and Sonoma Duck Breast. These were both dishes to go back for. Steak was well made too. The supporting veg sides also very good, not just plate fillers. The Baby Wedge Salad was a nice option. Hope to try the Roasted Beet Salad next time. Don't really recommend the Dutch Molten Lava Cake because it was dry & nothing special. Crème brûlée option excellent. This spot harkens back to the 80s without being outdated.

I had ordered a salad which was very fine. The dinner I ordered was the Scallop entree. It was so disappointing as it was burned, the Vegetables black and scallops like rubber. I had to return it... the waiter later said he definitely agreed.... But why did he serve me that then. It was taken off the bill for me but I was never offered any other replacement. Basically I didn't eat!

We started with dinner and ended up staying for the music, dancing, and all the fun that makes The Nest such a special place. I ordered the chicken piccata and honestly, it was the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful, and even though we were seated near the piano in the bar area where it can get a little loud, that's part of what makes it such a fun atmosphere. The best part of the night was having everyone together. My niece's boyfriend was visiting from Ireland, and we laughed and danced all night. I especially loved seeing my sister-in-law out on the dance floor and having so much fun. It was one of those nights where people of all ages were dancing, laughing, and just enjoying being together. We had such a great time that they went back again the very next night. The live music was fantastic, and it was great seeing Nick on saxophone. The crowd was a fun mix, the energy was high, and the whole place just felt happy. A coworker recently went during Restaurant Week and couldn't stop talking about the steak, the generous portions, and the peanut butter pie. The Nest has been a desert favorite for years, and there's a reason. It's always nice to see Dodi there and how much pride she takes in the restaurant. Most people think of The Nest for the music and dancing, but don't miss the food. It really is that good! One tip: go early or make a dinner reservation so you don't end up waiting in line. The Nest is still one of the most fun places in the desert!

We waited close to 25 minutes (the only drag) but once we were in the party started. The drinks were nice great and the DJ awesome! He was playing a saxophone as he pumped the crowed up. DRINKS AND APPETIZER ONLY!…read more We were visiting family down the street, so we popped in for a drink. The look and the feel of the Grapefruit Basil restaurant did not feel like other Tommy Bhammas. It did not have that vibe. Plus, the drink menu is not the same as Tommy Bahammas as well- while reviewing the menu I noticed a couple of similar drinks such as the grapefruit basil, so I decided to order a familiar drink. Unfortunately, this drink was not as good as the one that I had the night before-- I could not taste the alcohol, it just tasked like grapefruit- I was sad, as this is like my go to drink. To compliment out drinks, we had the salsa guac appetizer that we are very familiar with from the Tommy Bhamma restaurant. The appetizer was good, and like I remember from their restaurants. So how was the atmosphere-- we just popped down at the bar. The bar felt like we were at a hospital. Very white and blah. If it was a cooler night, the outdoor space might have been nicer. They do have a bar and seating outside. As it was still in the 100s, we did not have that option. The bar was a bit distasteful with off conversations- we don't mind a party vibe, but the vibe was not that kind of environment. Lastly, this restaurant/bar does not use the tommy Bahamas membership program so you cannot accumulate points or use your credits. Would we come again- well, Tommy Bahammas it's not too far away, I think we would head there instead or another bar.
