    E. Tokyo Roll

I am from very far out of town, so this is my first time ever at this mall. I looked around the food court for a while and had trouble choosing what I wanted to eat. I decided to take a risk and go for sushi from Kyoto Teppanyaki. (Sushi from a mall food court always seems risky to me.) I ordered the Tokyo Roll and a side of Shrimp Tempura. (I really like Shrimp tempura.) The tempura was really crispy in everything, and I enjoyed the sushi! I thought it was a good experience. I also took notice that they do cook the meat for their other dishes fresh, which was a nice surprise since it's not coming prefrozen and simply heated up like other places. I don't know how their other dishes taste, but I think they probably taste good based off of that. I was having a bad day today, and I'm really happy with what I got out of a mall food court. The sushi was even prepared on the spot (not prepackaged). I think everyone should give it a shot.

    Chicken teriyaki. Delicious.
    Mmm M.

Food was delicious: chicken teriyaki And volcano roll was flavorful and didn't taste old or fishy. For mall food this is a step up. The employees are working hard and the manager is hopping back and forth between the hibachi grill and the register and also seeing if the sushi maker needs help too.

Be prepared to wait even with a reservation. Kids love the idea but it's over priced and takes forever. We won't be going back

Veggie delight is just a bunch of cooked cabbage with a couple strands of carrot and three pieces of broccoli. Worthless.

The waiter was warm and knowledgeable, telling us stories and background on the food and beverage we had. His father is the chef and his mom does all the flower arrangements at the restaurant. It's beautifully decorated and sophisticated. There were two of us and we went with the 4-course $100 Omakase, which had 2 options and we did one of each: Omakase Nigiri and Chirashi. The food here was delicious and I can't remember all the items I had, but it started with a Tsukidashi tasting followed by a soup. Between the two options, I would opt for Omakase Nigiri next time. The wine and sake pairing was terrific, which introduced us to so many new beverages. Dessert is a must, especially at $5. The matcha mousse was airy and fantastic. You can dine by reservation only, and it's easy to make reservations on Tock, but need to plan ahead. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026

The dishes were really unique and had flavor combos that surprised me (Japanese potato with beet stem and peppercorn, cucumber with cooked seaweed). A couple things to note: they played no music so it was very quiet inside, they're fairly heavy handed with wasabi, and it's quite expensive. Overall, a good STL experience with the cutest little fam running it.

There's something incredibly comforting about sitting down to a bubbling hot pot when it's freezing outside. The first time we tried the extra spicy Sichuan broth, and the second time we went with the chicken broth. Mixing the two creates the perfect balance -- rich, flavorful, and just the right level of heat. We've also tried the sliced chicken, shrimp, and fish. My personal favorite combination is cooking the shrimp and cod together with lots of vegetables. The veggies are fantastic -- especially the corn on the cob, chestnuts, and broccoli. Another fun feature is the toppings bar where you can customize your sauces and garnishes. I love adding sesame seeds for extra crunch, along with chili oil, fresh cilantro, and spring onions. And honestly, even just slurping down the soup at the end is a treat in itself. The service is really great. The ambiance is a bit average, but once you're immersed in the whole hot pot experience and enjoying the food, it honestly doesn't matter. Definitely recommend for a cozy, flavorful meal -- especially on a cold night!

Although this is a smaller restaurant, they were able to accommodate our group size. Our waitress was very helpful and guided us through the hot pot menu structure. There are plenty of options for non-meat eaters, which I love and broth options as well that are not meat based.

Ours was amazing, she said "we don't fork shame here" I fork shame, but she refused. Good for her! I also ordered a cocktail. I would arrive to Sado just for this cocktail, it had a coconut pillow top, that was reminiscent of a marshmallow. Delightful compliment to my savory dinner. I was very surprised at the size of Sado on the inside, we made a turn into the seating then a second turn deeper into seating. I did not get to check out the bathrooms, which disappointed me, but the ambiance was very dark and romantic, also unexpected, there were several tables of friend groups.

Some of the flavors were a bit on the subtle side, the curry chicken katsu rice platter could have used a bit more seasoning or spice. Regardless, the tonkotsu ramen was my personal favorite. We arrived around 7pm and it wasn't busy at all, just an easy evening. The interior is clean with some fun Japan themed decor, and the space works well for pretty much any occasion whether you're with family, friends, or even dining solo. The waitress was nice overall. One small thing is that the big menus never really got taken away, even after we ordered and even after the food came out. We eventually just handed them over ourselves since they were getting in the way of the table. Nothing major but just a small thing to note. When you sit down they bring out a complimentary little bowl of fried crackers with a spicy seasoning on top. I personally have a low tolerance for spice so it wasn't really for me, maybe a 4 out of 10 on my end, but if you can handle heat you might enjoy it more than I did. The ramen though was really good. We got the donkatsu pork ramen, solid 8 out of 10, and the chicken katsu ramen which was a 9 out of 10. The broth was so deeply flavorful and savory and they add corn to the ramen which I personally loved. We left completely full and satisfied. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rice plates next.

We didn't get a choice and were sat at the bar. Ordering is done through the QR code and water is offered self-serve. We split an order of the appetizers: house cucumbers and karaage. I'm not a huge cucumber fan but I tried it. I preferred the one with miso as I found it to be more subtle in taste. The chicken was average and didn't wow me. We each got the chicken shoyu with no pork, no scallions and an extra egg. It felt like it took a long time to get our food. We were both surprised once we got it as we were expecting actual chicken pieces but after rereading the menu description, it was chicken oil. He was a bit disappointed as both our dishes were covered in scallions. I suggested we not send it back since it took quite a while to get our food and they were close to closing. Nevertheless, I found the broth to be tasty and full of flavor despite there being no meat. Overall, it was a solid first visit.
