I came here for a simple dinner, and the rolls were excellent! This is some of the freshest sushi I have ever had at any Sushi AI location. I was seated at a cute table with a nice window view and the cleanliness of the restaurant was noticeable. However, the service was a little lackluster. While everyone was friendly and thorough with their roles, I couldn't help but feel pushed out after eating my food. It felt like the server was waiting until the last bites of food were finished before shoving the bill into our faces. A great spot for fresh sushi, but not a pleasant overall experience.

Their sushi remains top quality and also very affordable. I pick up from here at least once a month. Also all the menus on yelp are very old so here's a recent one.

Who still offers 14.99 All you can eat sushi? Can't believe it isn't 20-30 dollars by now. Still Sushi Ai gets it done. The rolls are pretty decent, the gyoza are awesome. I would definitely recommend the nigiri. Some of the rolls they give you less fish and tons of cream cheese etc. but service was great, food came out fast, love it!

If I come back, I will make sure to tell them not to cover the sushi in spicy mayo. I've had better.

    Food

I usually eat at Sushi Ai in St. Charles or Downtown St. Louis, and I've always had great experiences at both. This was my first time visiting the Maryland Heights location, and I was hoping for that same level of taste and freshness--but unfortunately, it didn't quite measure up. I really enjoy rolls with that sweet cream cheese flavor, but here it wasn't as rich or sweet as I'm used to. The food overall didn't taste as fresh either. I also came about an hour and a half before closing (and 30 minutes before final call), so that might've played a role, but the customer service didn't feel as warm or attentive as I've experienced at the other two spots. Not a terrible experience, just not what I expected from the Sushi Ai name. Hopefully it was just an off night.

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They are super fast too. Their rice is so good. I've been here multiple times I've gotten the katsu chicken lunch special their sushi rolls, fried rice, I mean you really can't go wrong, all of their food is so good. You can even order all you can eat rolls on weekdays! They offer Japanese drinks as well. In this occasion I ordered the Cali rolls (fried) with sriracha mayo, I could bathe in the sauce it's to die for. The space is small but clean. Must try! Go today! It's my favorite spot.

So I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Sushi Ai. I was pleasantly surprised having never tried all you can eat sushi. The ordering process is interesting. They bring multiple sheets to the table so you don't have to order all at once. There's no alcohol, not even a cold glass of beer served here. Just soda, tea and water. But the good is good, it comes out fast and the atmosphere is amazingly private. I was able to speak with my dinner companion in complete privacy during the evening. The wait staff is attentive as well. I'll definitely return for another experience of all you

The sushi quality is great, but the rolls are bigger than most Sushi AI locations, which sometimes makes them hard to eat.

Food is delicious. Customer service is exceptional, friendly and a great place to enjoy sushi and conversation

Really bad service, I arrived 15 min early before 2:45 pm (the all you can eat time frame is different than the one in Clayton, for Clayton one is 3:00pm). As the picture shown no one is at restaurant, but the server want me to wait for extra 15 min and thus can not have lunch time all you can eat. Really bad service. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.

Substandard ingredients like fake krab and low quality fish just really turned us off. Rolls that should be chilled were room temp; so much so I was hesitant to eat it. Hubs roughed it out tho. He said the tuna had a funky, fishy taste and lacked that smooth, melt in your mouth texture that excellent sushi has. The rolls were so poorly prepared they just fell apart when we tried to pick them up. Sweet potatoes were raw. They did have GF tamari tho which I appreciated. The only bright spot was our server Kenny. She was super knowledgeable about food allergies and was friendly & upbeat. The grumpy barracuda working the front desk though, not so much. I went elsewhere and they closed the kitchen 2 hours early because of low staff... great. I didn't want Italian. And another place was full so I came here. I should have just got fast food or gas station food. But i wanted a sit down meal. My FRIED sushi roll came out barely warm. Second fried roll came out hot and tasted fishy!!! I have never had a Philly roll taste fishy! For a fancy looking place, they don't treat you well. I walked in and a guy greeted me and that was it. I stood there while he walked away then when near taken back, I asked who do I see about getting a table? The same guy is like oh me. Then why would you say hi and walk away and ignore me?! I walked in because the sign says too!!! Then he says just sit there and someone will be with you. Gesturing to a small table. Now this was over 10ft away and I had no menu. Well after I waited 5 mins at the table NOBODY greeted me. This is my biggest pet peeve! Not a good start. I had to resort to Google for a menu. Well I got fed up and was hungry. So I got up and went to the bar. Well she was cashing out a guy and I sat to his left since the only spot available. Well the bartender walked away when she was done and completely ignored me. Then after 3-4 mins of sitting there she said I'll be with you while she was making a drink. Took care of another customer then came over. I put in my order and asked for a water. I got a water with a dead fruit fly in it. Then I got a second water with a crack it it at the top of the glass. Lovely. I got one of my roll 15-20 mins later. It was shrimp tempura. It was barely warm. For a fried roll I have never had one at a restaurant then didn't come out too hot to eat right away. I got half way and the rest was cool. We shall see my next one comes out because it's fried... Since the bartender was not attentive to me and it was a bit noisy, and I was hungry I ate the food. I already waited too long for her to greet me. I didn't know if I would have had to wait another 10 mins to tell her it was cool. Because unlike a good server, she never bothered to ask how it was. Well 45 mins later I received my second roll. My fried Philly roll. Hot! Nice and hot. But it got super fishy tasting. Gross. That was the second piece of the 2nd roll. Well I asked for low sodium soy sauce. Then I added wasabi, and it tasted better. So maybe I just masked the fishy taste but I couldn't handle that alone. Again, unless I shouted at the bartender, I wouldn't get anywhere. Because she ignored me the whole time. I got 5 small pieces of shrimp tempura for $11.5 yet there was an app for $7. I couldn't believe how little it was at that price. It's not that great so go elsewhere. I did question her about it, and she made some excuse about me not clarifying. Sometimes I'm so mentally drained to argue. Other times I will fight til death for companies to make it right. I dropped $30 on the shittiest sushi I have ever had. Go elsewhere!

Some of the bites are definitely an acquired taste (this meal was my first exposure to eating liver and sea urchin - both very bold and unique flavors) but getting to try new foods was something I really liked about this meal. The restaurant is beautiful, warm, and bright. You get to sit right up at the counter with just 5 other people when you do the nine-course dinner. Each course is prepared in front of you so it's neat to be able to see the chefs prepare the next course while you're eating. When you book the reservation, you get the choice to pick between tempura and yakizakana for one of the courses, and while the tempura was good (which I ordered), the yakizakana was excellent (which my husband ordered). They do a great job explaining what everything is that you're eating, how to eat it, and which order to eat it in. And even though it's all small bites, we left dinner feeling full and satisfied.
