When you walk into the Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver, you can feel the history. Opened in 1898 the Italian renaissance architecture and artwork stands out. This is a place of class and distinction. I found the Churchill Cigar Lounge just off the lobby. It is classy, comfortable and a great space to relax with a great smoke and a cocktail. Ibrahama greeted me immediately, offered me a seat at the bar and pored me a fine glass of rare whiskey. I enjoyed the cool Jazz music and melted away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world . This is a must stop location for Cigar smokers visiting the Denver area.

Wow, well I wanted to love this place as I've been once before and it was grand! However this time around all I noticed was outdated decor, staff who really didn't want to be there and a poor selection of cigars and menu items. This used to be the place to hang for a fine cigar and cocktail. Today it is tired and need some life infused into the place.

Impeccable Cigar lounge atmosphere tucked away in the ultra upscale Brown Palace Hotel (part of Marriot's Autograph collection). This is an old school Cigar lounge with plush leather couches, tasteful artwork, and well-appointed furnishings. Don't get me wrong, this place isn't stuffy or uptight. It's relaxing and welcoming. They have a full bar with an extensive list of classic and modern cocktails. Cigars can be ordered off the menu ( not a fan of this) and they bring you a nice cutter, matches, and cedar to get your stick fired up. I find their cigar prices on the expensive side and recommend bringing your own if possible. There's no walk-in humidor and their selection is thin. The staff is excellent and attentive. Prepare to be taken care of. Overall excellent experience and will make this my lounge of choice when in the Denver area.

Incredible ambiance! Very classy and well maintained. The staff was excellent and the cigar selection was fair across all categories. My absolute favorite was the Crabcake appetizer!

Thank you Churchill Bar! If in Denver, you owe it to yourself to stop in the Churchill Bar in the Brown Hotel. Order a fine scotch ( neat) & a great cigar, sit in a leather chair and take it all in. Talk to a stranger and enjoy the moment!

Comfy, upscale, old school cigar bar. Picture it: Oversized worn in leather couches and arm chairs, along with some tables/chairs, a big bar and large humidor. It is floor to ceiling wood, leather and cigars. It works. Great ventilation system (translation no clouds of smoke lingering in the room). Fantastic service. You can order from the Palace Arms menu, but if you want free eats they will bring you stuffed olives (blue cheese), smoked almonds and Cajun mix if you need something to nibble with you drink and stogie. Awesome experience!

Shout to the team for having our table ready when we got there even though it was very busy that day. We started off with the Fall Salad and I think it was one of my favorite things we ordered. I had no idea beets can be that delicious! After that, everything else came out: roasted carrots, barramundi, and wagyu flank steak. They also put in an order or pommes frites (French fries) on accident and decided to give it to us on the house. Thanks! The roasted carrots were really good and sweet. You could tell they were quality carrots. The barramundi was another one of my favorites. I'm a fan of fish and they did an excellent job of cooking the barramundi with a great sauce(?) that tasted great with it. I found the wagyu steak flank overcooked and really salty which was disappointing given the price. The pommes frites were cooked well but also extremely salty. Overall, I would recommend Sunday Vinyl if you are trying to take someone to a place that is unique and don't mind paying a bit extra. It is a bit loud in there (we had to raise our voices a bit to hold a conversation) but it is also a vinyl place so you would expect them to show off their music.

The smoked burrata was delicious, especially with all the toppings it came with. The sea bass completely surprised me, in the best way. Sweet, spicy, savory, crunchy, with so many different textures and flavors happening at once. The lamb skewers were another favorite. The meat was thinly sliced and secured on the skewer, which made every bite incredibly tender. They were just bomb overall! The drinks were also very well put together and complemented the food perfectly. The server was outstanding. Definitely a place I'm eager to come back to and try more dishes from the menu!

And from that point on, from first taste, I knew my experience would be exceptional. The service was attentive without being overly attentive, and the chef's were so kind, answering every one of my weird questions about what they were preparing or ingredients that I noticed. I ordered the smoked burrata to start. The balance between the candied pistachio, artichoke pesto, and wagyu cecina really created a well balanced and unexpected dish. The burrata was creamy and the salty and sweet components balanced the aged sherry gastrique and made for an incredible intro to a beautiful performance by the chefs. Next was another small dish, which I wish I remembered the description for (I need to bring a little notebook with me), but it was a perfect segue into the next course, the ibérico presa. Wow. Just wow. White asparagus has got to be one of my favorite vegetables next to artichokes, when done exceptionally well, as they most definitely were. The piquillo peppers and pickled shallots complemented the pork, which was so soft, perfectly. I definitely died and went to heaven at this point in the meal. This is probably when I should've stopped eating because after this point, still pure delight, but my poor stomach was soooooo full. Next was another small bite to lead into my next course, also incredible. Wish I could describe it. My next course was the European sea bass. Now, sea bass is my favorite fish of all time. The perfectly crisp skin, the red onion jam, the spicy sweet balance was perfection. I loved every bite. The olive oil potatoes were a perfect complement. And at this point, I was bursting at the seems... but I still ordered dessert, because you only live once and food is one of the great joys of life. For dessert, I had the crema. The honeycomb on top, the cherries, all leading to a perfect finish. A time was had. Thanks El Five

Loved the perfectly chewy ropes of bucatini tangled with crumbled blue cheese, Castelvetrano olives -- and vodka sauce? This should've been a weird disaster, but wound up being our table's favorite dish. Every dish is a commitment to the genuinely unexpected. There was something delightfully more than just salt, pepper and fry behind the eggroll-sized mozarella sticks. Then there was the fig gelato, flanked by warm pear -- and oh my gosh, the apple tart! We had to go back and reread the menu to realize that the caramel really was spicy! This kitchen really finds the funky note in a dish and leans into it. Come ready to share. Every item comes in a "single" and a "mingle" size, which was great for our table of four. We would order 1-2 mingle-sized items, pass them around, and argue about who gets the last forkful. The rough edge is perhaps the service, but this spot is new and finding its rhythm. We found the handoff between counter and floor to be clunky, since it felt like pressure to order in order to be seated, not to order drinks and wait for a table. Maybe this works in a larger space. Maybe they just need to smooth out the flow. Either way, the people are sweet, and the food delicious.

Coming into it, I know Boombots has an eclectic restaurant with a fusion pasta menu, and I was fully on board with trying some weird, funky pasta. The restaurant was nicely laid out and decorated, and the vibes are great. The drinks are delicious and they have one of my favorite non-alcoholic cocktails (What the Hellyante). However, the mains come and the wheels fell apart. We got the congee risotto, the bucatini primavera, and the gyros cavatelli. Let's start with the positive. The bucatini primavera was tasty. The pasta was well cooked and everything ate very well together, albeit a little dry. Overall, a good dish. The congee risotto was also not bad. It was definitely one of the dish I was looking forward as someone who followed their Instagram, but the execution was off. The rice was well cooked but it ate just a tad bland. The 63 degree egg was just a tad over and unfortunately, the told was on the cold side. That said, it was tasty nonetheless. My least favorite part was the amount of toasted seeds on top. There was simply too much and it knocked the balance of the dish towards overly crunchy, which is not necessarily what you expect in a risotto or a congee dish. Finally, the gyros cavatelli was just not it. In my opinion, the dish just didn't work for me. It's a dish with za'atar pasta, gyros, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions, crispy chickpeas, dill, nad tzakiki. The warm tzakiki sauce along with the picked red onions and cherry tomatoes ensure the dish eats on the sour side. For me as well, the warm tzakiki was off putting in smell and taste. The pasta was also undercooked and grainy. It wasn't al dente, just undercooked. And with everything, the gyros is kind of lost. Overall, just a really odd dish in terms of conception and execution, and one that I didn't enjoy. Overall, I will be generous and give 3/5. I think service was pretty good, the drinks were delicious, and the price was acceptable. Other dishes, such as the lumache and the salads, looks pretty good as well. But based on what I got today, I cannot recommend the dishes we got at Boombots.

The green sauce was vibrant and fresh and really a balanced the rest of the dish. The tuna empanada like thing was also good. Love the blue corn shell. The sauce had ants in it though which kind of freaked me out, but it did taste good. Although I knew this was a tuna dish, I didn't know what to expect. Kind of wish the tuna was maybe seared or was something different, but I did like the dish. The short ribs were so tender and delicious. The tortillas were fresh and wonderful as well. The tres leches dessert was also really tasty and had the perfect ratio of cake to milk without it all falling apart from being too wet. In terms of drinks, the corn sour and beet spritz were absolutely amazing. The Negroni was good as well but I think I prefer a classic Italian one. Service was good although sometimes I felt like our server was watching us too closely and I felt weird. In addition on two separate occasions, the cooks that brought the food out touched the food on our plates to make it look nicer. I want to trust that they are clean, but in this day and age of new food poisonings happening all the time, and the fact that they had to open the door since we were outside, I just felt kind of gross about it. Nevertheless the food was absolutely delicious and honestly was worth the price for sure. The food here was much better than some top restaurants in nyc for a fraction of the price. Waited 45 minutes as walk in on Friday night around 8 pm and was definitely worth it.

Dreamy Chef Owen took care of us at the Chef's Table, encouraging us to start with a Clover Club (her) and a Colada (him), both of which made our first dish, the Tostada de Tora, taste smoove like velvet. From there it was a cacophony of flava', from Mollete de Mejillones to Carne Apache, and from Flautas de Pollo to Barriga de Cerdo. Because Kelly and I are Monarch alumni, we also paired a Carajillo with our dessert of Tres Leches, just like Brother Aquinas taught us. Excellent from start to finish, I live by the rule that if you're gonna do one, you might as well do the other, as is the case with both Alma Fonda Fina and Mezcaleria Alma, two pillars of the Denver dining scene.

I pulled up Cask and Craft's website and was super happy to see the list of precautions they are taking to keep their customers safe. Some of these precautions include only 2 people in the shop at a time, use provided hand sanitizer when you enter, and even curbside pick up/delivery. Since I was sitting in front of the store, I figured I'd just go in, get what I needed, and quickly head home. I was greeted and asked to use the hand sanitizer upon entering - yes, thank you. I then explained from a distance that I was looking for a dark beer, preferably a stout. I was escorted to the back of the store and shown the fridge with all the dark beer. WOW! big selection. I had the choice of 6 packs, 4 packs, or mix and match. This was perfect for me because I needed 5 beers. I ended up selecting Jackie O's Java the Stout. When I brought up my 5 pack, the owner told me it was a great beer (one of his favorite dark beers) and that it was a solid choice. He was not wrong.
