Not greasy, and we quickly devoured them dipped in the fabulous Horseradish aioli. The menu has a lot of English/Irish pub food, and the Guinness meatloaf did not disappoint. Our server, Jaylynn, totally made this a great experience for us. She was friendly, authentic, attentive, and prompt. In addition, the food was tasty! We started with the Bloody Good Bloody Marys, and they were indeed bloody good. Nicely spicy and generously garnished. Next up, the fried green tomatoes with an abundance of pimento cheese. Both were delicious, although I preferred to eat the tomatoes and cheese separately to appreciate each. After that, we had the fish and chips and the chicken and waffles. The chicken was a little overcooked and dry, but the waffles were enough to make up for it--I loved that they had a little crunch from raw sugar caramelized on the waffle. Great food! Great company! Good prices. Great service! Unfortunately we were very primed for the prime rib and Yorkshire pudding, but only one serving remained. Three in our group shifted to the steak, while I chose the Roast beef. Mine was fork tender, tasty, a generous portion. The mashed potatoes and asparagus (substituted for the root vegetables) rounded out the plate. There are plenty of choices for appetizers, soups or salads, sandwiches, and entrees that represent British foods well in Savannah, Ga. Only thing that might make this seem like a British pub is the long wooden bar. Nothing else is British nor British themed. I know I'm an expat. Service was quick, the beer was good. Might be more of a good place than a drinking place. Which again isn't very British at all. read more

First id like to say the server was very kind and attentive. There was a misunderstanding on our bill and she quickly got it resolved with a manager. We got the raw oysters and they had sand in them. It was our first time trying them so maybe a little sand it expected but a few of them were inedible because they had probably a TSP of sand.... The fish and chips were okay, the scotch egg was dry and served on BBQ sauce(???? Never seen that before) and the fries were alright. Hubby had a beer and it was fresh and good, i got the violet you're turning violet cocktail and it was too sweet for my liking. The kitchen forgot a side on my husband's plate but again the server took the side order cost off our meal. There wasn't music playing and there was an awkward feeling the the dining room we were sat in on the first floor. We'd have loved to sit in the rooftop But it was a beautiful day and full. From the amazing ambiance to the welcoming atmosphere, you are in for a treat! The food is fantastic! I recommend starting with the pretzel. Went here for brunch yesterday. We expected 16 people in our group but most decided not to go at the last minute so we only had seven. When we got there and informed them they were very understanding and accommodating. When Heather came to greet us she was still very excited to have the seven of us, knowing that nine didn't show up. She was such an amazing server and such a fun personality. She gave us great recommendations and never let our cups empty for the unlimited mimosas. The food was fantastic and great portions. This was our third or fourth visit to Churchill's as we don't come to Savannah very often but do like to visit this place. I had to drop a star because I was a little disappointed in the beer offerings which is our main reason for visiting here. They were out of one of the favorite beers I liked and much of the other beer was repeats from the last visits with only just a couple or three new offerings one of which I like the rest I didn't. I do wish they'd make more of an effort to have more rotating taps and don't keep repeating the same old same olds. The wait staff was always very friendly and accommodating as in the past. You can't beat the bar atmosphere it is a solid bar experience unlike anywhere else you would go. We had the bangers and mash again this time and it was just as good as the times before. This is one solid menu item I hope they never take off the menu. As for the beer menu, hopefully you'll switch that a little more often on a more occasional basis. read more

Place was kind of empty but it was sort of off hours before the actual lunch crowd would be stopping in. Large indoor area and the staff was more than friendly. Good menu has a lot of English themed options like Sheppard pie and a decently large beer menu. Also had a large bar seating area and a rooftop bar. The only negative about the rooftop bar area is the lack of any real view. Just basically another building. However the area is nice and a good place to sit with a group before eating. read more

Close to the Riverfront district. We sat at the bar...which we usually do. The amazing old bar was ornate and just fascinating to look at all the carvings. We ordered our drinks.... Kendra was our Bartender, very friendly and full of smiles. We ordered the English Dip sandwich which was large enough to share, juicy and great flavor. We had booked a reservation on Open Table for a Sunday at 11am, when they open. Loved the vibe of the place.... It's giving Irish pub. It's covered in wood, brick & is beautiful. You feel like you've stepped back in time and are sitting a piece of history. There's also a really cool rooftop area, but it was too hot out to enjoy when we went in July. We sat inside. We started with coffee, pimento cheese croquettes & sausage rolls. Both apps did not disappoint. The pimento croquettes had a hush puppy texture to them. The outside was a fried, crunchy breaded exterior that wasn't greasy like typical croquettes. The inside cheese flavor wasn't overwhelming, which I was worried about because I normally don't like pimento cheese (my husband ordered). I ended up having 2! It had a buttermilk ranch that complimented them perfectly. These surprised me with how great they were. The sausage rolls were also delicious. It came with 2 small rolls, which were the perfect serving for my husband and I. The sausage was huge! Not a typical sausage link you would imagine. Nonetheless it was cooked perfectly, juicy & great serving of protein. It was wrapped in a perfectly baked, thin, flaky crust - adult pigs in a blanket but with great quality ingredients. They were served atop a bed of mustard. We both had the chicken and waffles as our entree. These were the best chicken and waffles we've ever had. The waffles were served warm with blueberries, strawberries a lbs powdered sugar on top. They were perfectly fluffy and made from scratch. The chicken tenders were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The breading was perfectly proportionate to the chicken filling and wasn't greasy as I've experienced with fried chicken elsewhere. We both finished our entire plates! The portion sizes here are great. Our server Jaylen was great. She was extremely kind, attentive and provided great service. The restaurant has a $15 all you can drink mimosa option. We opted out, but thought the price was great. We're from SoFlo where it's typically $25 at most places. That being said, the prices here are very affordable!
