I swing by after a hiking. I was amazed by the flavor of the chickens. I got the fresh ones! Hot and juicy!

Long awaited Churches Texas Chicken (formerly known as Churches Fried Chicken) is open in Bremerton. I had heard there were long lines, but there was no line on the day I showed up. I went through the drive-through. It was efficient. Super fast. The folks that I could see through the window looked like they had been working hard, so I must have just missed a lunch rush, maybe. I got the Texas family meal to take home for the family. It was cheaper than its competitor, which is about 3 or 4 blocks away. However, we tried everything in the box, bone in legs and thighs, tenders, slaw, potatoes, mac and cheese, and bread. None of it was the quality of all that we remembered about Churches Fried Chicken all those years ago when it was delicious. Was my favorite 35 or 40 years ago. Everything changes, but do great recipes have to be messed with. I'm giving the restaurant a few months before I venture there again. Always about at least one more chance. Holding out hope the food quality and flavors will be right soon. I mean most people who eat meat like chicken but only hot and tasty fried chicken if they are into fried chicken. Churches did not deliver this first round on that. They did well on quantity and price.

Great New Chicken Spot in Bremerton

Always Nice to get a New Classic Chicken Spot in our little Town of Bremerton ! Known as Church's Fried Chicken in my Missouri upbringing, this newly Opened franchise is a welcome edition to our Area. So far my visits have been very good. They do get busy from time to time but all seems to be handled fairly well for being a newly opened business. 4 or 5 stars so far..... The 5 Star right now just because it's the only one within 40 miles or so..... lol The Original Chicken is just as I remembered (Delicious) as well as Krinkle Cut fries are a welcome Change from the normal Chicken spots potato choices. Okra, Corn on the Cob, Mashed potatoes and gravy are all better than most sides and other spots. They have delicious honey butter biscuits and now a Jalapeño Biscuit. Coke products as well as Sweet Tea and Lemonade (Even a to-go container of these available to take home for your own fridge. All in all a great spot to wet your whistle for some fast food chicken. May they prosper in our small town of limited choices. Nuff said....

Unknown dark stuff in Mac that was also complete mush

Price is way too expensive for the service to be this bad quality was absolutely horrible. Will never be going to this place again. The KFC was way better than this place will ever be feathers in the chicken. Random brown chunks in the Mac that completely mushy with the same texture as baby food absolutely 100% would never recommend this place to anybody do not come here. Hopefully we can get a different restaurant here soon to replace this one.

Okay, I saw some rough reviews, had to stop in and see what's going on. Went through the drive thru about 10:45 am, had to have been shortly after open. Ordered 5 pc Spicy chicken with fries and a drink. Requested BBQ and ranch. Got to the window, greeted politely, and received my order. Took a peak around through the window wondering what the kitchen was looking like while I was waiting, looked actually pretty clean and organized with gloves on the associates I saw. I was prepared (and not negatively hoping for) a potential mishap, but I was -optimistic-because that's what new establishments deserve. I received my spicy chicken, fries, two sauce packets, a DC and my biscuit. Perfect! The food quality while only having church's twice, was as I expected, good enough for me and enticing because this chain is different from what's available in this area. Other experiences are worth noting, but if you want something a tad different, just give them a try. I had a good experience, and had no issues with my order.

Heck if you're looking for some really good chicken, this is a great place to be they have really good biscuits. The chicken tenders are nice and thick.

    5 chicken meal

Hard meat, near flavorless, sauces all taste similar to non name brand grocery selections and overpriced. The biscuit was the only redeeming part.

It had been several years after my disturbing visit, I thought I'd try again…read more I ordered two wraps on their app and entered the store. Apparently at 5pm they had none of the chicken made, so I had to wait about 8 minutes. No big deal, I suppose. It happens. As im waiting, a person behind the counter wearing gloves and a hooded sweatshirt with a beer logo on it is in the food prep area sucking on what appears to be a fruit puree squeeze snack for children. She slurps it down, takes customers money, and prepares food all while im waiting. The arms of the hoodie keep slouching down and she keeps having to pull up her sleeves with her gloves. She does this and doesnt change her gloves once! Not even ONCE after touching all these things, switching stations, slurping her snack. I couldn't belive she was a regular employee with how disheveled she looked. Due to a concern with cross contamination, I discarded my food right after leaving. Not cool. I wont be returning for some time. They also had a very expensive POS computer and peripherals sitting in the lobby. No big deal, but I am suprised they didn't put them in the back after delivery. Someone could have easily walked out with the main pc unit. Very carefree people I suppose. I don't care anymore either now.

I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the extremely poor…read moreand unprofessional customer service I received at your restaurant's drive-thru on November 12 between 4:00 and 4:15 PM. I have been a loyal McDonald's customer for many years, and I have never experienced anything remotely as disrespectful as what occurred that afternoon. I pulled into drive-thru lane #2 and provided the young lady at the speaker with my mobile app code. She entered it incorrectly multiple times and began to sound irritated as I politely repeated it for her not once, but four separate times. When she finally claimed the code had expired, I calmly explained that I had just generated it, refreshed the app several times, and that the same code kept appearing. She insisted I close and reopen the app again, to which I replied that I had already done so multiple times. At this point, the employee mumbled something under her breath. When I asked her politely to repeat herself, she snapped, yelling loudly and unprofessionally into her headset, saying, "What is it that you're trying to order?" Her tone was aggressive, frustrated, and blatantly disrespectful. Taken aback by her behavior, I replied that my order was simply a Happy Meal and added, "There's no need to give me an attitude." I then asked for her name so that I could speak to a manager. She flatly refused to identify herself (which is fine) and told me to pull up to the window instead. When I reached the first window, I asked the employee there if she was the same person who had been speaking with me. She became visibly nervous, stumbled over her words, and denied it which, given her reaction, did not seem truthful. When I asked again to speak to a manager, she closed the window and turned to speak privately with another employee for about two minutes, a clear indication that she was likely explaining the situation and attempting to avoid accountability. After a delay, a woman who identified herself as a manager came to the window. I calmly recounted the entire interaction. She informed me that she had heard the entire exchange over the headset and agreed that the behavior was inappropriate. She apologized and attempted to excuse the employee's actions by saying the restaurant was extremely busy, and the employee was likely frustrated. While I appreciate her honesty, that explanation is unacceptable. McDonald's is a fast-paced environment every day, and anyone working in a customer-facing position should be trained and expected to maintain professionalism under pressure. The manager then took my order, had me pull to the second window, and another team member handed me my food. Even as I received my order, I was shaken by the lack of respect and professionalism I had just experienced. I immediately called the store after leaving the drive-thru and spoke with Cam, who was professional, courteous, and empathetic. She listened carefully, apologized sincerely, and assured me that the General Manager would be informed and that such behavior is not tolerated. I appreciated her professionalism and prompt response. That said, I remain deeply disappointed and frankly appalled by the way I was treated. I am the Director of Operations in the customer service industry, with over 20 years of experience overseeing staff, managers, and frontline teams. If one of my employees ever behaved this way toward a customer, raising their voice, refusing to provide their name, and deflecting accountability; immediate disciplinary action and retraining would follow. McDonald's, as a global brand built on consistent service and family values, should hold its employees to the same high standard. This incident not only reflects poorly on the individual employee but also raises concerns about the training, supervision, and culture within this location. The employee clearly lacked both emotional control and customer service professionalism, and the interaction demonstrated an urgent need for customer service retraining and accountability measures. No paying customer or human being, for that matter, should ever be yelled at, disrespected, or dismissed while attempting to place a simple order. The fact that multiple employees and a manager heard this interaction unfold over the headset makes it even more concerning, as it suggests a breakdown in leadership response at that moment. I respectfully request that this matter be escalated to the General Manager and Area Supervisor for review and that appropriate corrective action and retraining be taken to ensure this type of behavior never occurs again. I would appreciate a follow-up communication confirming that this issue has been addressed and that McDonald's continues to uphold its commitment to quality service and respect for all customers. I look forward to hearing from a member of management who can assure me that my experience is not reflective of McDonald's standards.

Today we gave it one last chance, they asked us to pull over so they could make one of our two different breakfast sandwiches fresh, then gave us two of the same anyway after we waited.
