It's being employed by literal children who came out of the restaurant, got in their car, and was honking his car's horn in the parking lot at another car with his friends in it (and not doing their jobs at all). Then one of the guys came out and gave food to a car that ordered 30 minutes AFTER us and we asked the server where our food is because we have been here forever and he said THE COOK FORGOT TO COOK OUR TENDERS when tenders were the only thing we ordered in the first place. Terrible service, chicken cold/stale, won't go again. I ordered a meal and went back up to get BBQ sauce as the chicken wasn't good. Was advised there was a charge but they wouldn't take credit card in that amount! So I had just spent $20+ and they wouldn't budge. We just visited this location as we've done for years. And unfortunately our experience was so disappointing and different than any other we've had there. The food and place was fine as always, but the customer service was sadly lacking. We didn't receive what we paid for and when I brought this to the attention of the manager who took our order, he protested, refused to make our order whole and walked away from me, stating "have a nice day". I asked the cashier who had taken his place for his name and her response was that she couldn't give me any information for him. I contacted the main office in Atlanta and explained what had occurred. They assured me that they would prepare a formal complaint and follow up with me. I sincerely hope the Sawmill location will amend their training, so that customers will indeed receive what they paid for. Shame on Churches Chicken. Came in at about 7pm. Got a chicken tender meal and the chicken was pretty tough and dry while the batter was oddly soggy and kind of fell off. If it was fresh it might be okay as it had a good flavor to the batter. My side was wedges and these were unreal in how bad they were. Not super cooked in the potato part and covered with the chicken type batter which flaked off much worse than the chicken. Skin of the potato had a weird texture and I like potato skins. I took a bite off two different wedges and threw the rest away. An extra star for the nice girl working there and that the biscuit *top half* was pleasantly tender. The bottom half was dry and hard around most of it and especially along the edges. I saw this place had poor reviews and wished I could leave it more stars. They just can't get them though if they leave their chicken out so long it gets tough and soggy. No one wants a moist, soggy batter on a chicken tender which is fried to be crispy. read more

Church's Chicken on sawmill road. I went through the drive-thru and ordered an eight piece legs and thighs meal. When I got to the window I asked the kid how much was that again he responded didn't you hear what I told you when you ordered. The side I got with my order was okra it was so old or so overcooked it was like eating rocks. And the chicken what I received was two legs three thighs two biscuits and a chicken wing I guess that's what constitutes their eight piece nowadays. And as for calling to talk to the manager they respond with sorry I don't speak English and hang up. In perfect English That's if they answer the phone at all. I don't normally write reviews but I'm frustrated by the service I received. I understand that it must be difficult to work during our current pandemic but I don't think standards should be thrown out the window. I ask for better communication. That is all. I ordered through the drive through window and asked for a 16 piece, half spicy, half original , dark legs and thighs. I ordered a 4pc spicy chicken tenders. I was told that I would have to wait 12 minutes in the parking lot. I was fine with that. 12 minutes went by and I didn't hear anything. I waiting for 20 minutes then gave the location a call. They said I would have to wait an extra 4 minutes. They also tried repeating my order to me and got it wrong. I had to correct them. They never came out when they said they would. I waited another 10-12 minutes and went inside. I was trying to avoid doing this to coincide social distancing guidelines. I got my order and left. I live about 20 minutes from this location. When I got home I realized they did not get my order right. I got a box full of chicken tenders, not a single leg or thigh. I was also missing a lemon pie I ordered. I am very frustrated and disappointed. I don't want to have to drive 20 minutes back to get this fixed. I could also say I should've checked the order before I left their parking lot but why should I have the expectation of having an incorrect order. read more

Although I read other reviews that have not been all that great, I decided anyway to stop in to Church's for the first time for a quick lunch. They were promoting something that I think was called a Smoke House chicken meal, consisting of a half chicken, potatoes, a roll and a drink. The chicken was technically a half chicken but it was the smallest I've ever seen in my life, about the size of a normal chicken thigh but with less meat and more bones. This dwarf chicken was overcooked to the point of desiccation and was so tough that I thought I might be eating a shoe disguised as a chicken. I didn't try the fried chicken and although I doubt it (or anything) could possibly be worse than this, I'll probably never know since I can't imagine ever returning to this place to eat. read more

I tried to place an order by phone, but was denied since I wished to use a coupon. The employee I spoke with insisted I come in to the restaurant to make good on the coupon, and while I explained that I would be coming to the restaurant to pick up my food and could present the coupon at that time, she refused to allow me to order via phone. With the printed coupon in hand I walked into the restaurant. There was one woman working the front, but she seemed more keen on adjusting the shelves of food than tending to the needs of customers. The man in front of me in line took around five minutes to place his order, after which time I reached the counter, presented my coupon, and ordered my food. They told me the fried chicken was still cooking, and it would be a five minute wait. In the end, it was more like fifteen. I was pretty disappointed since in the first place all I had wanted was to order in advance and reduce my wait time. Stopped on our way through Santa Fe. Initially customer service appeared to be ok, boy was I wrong! Chicken was good, and upon tasting the coleslaw it had a very sour taste. I immediately went to the front counter where the manager (I think) asked what I needed. I explained that the coleslaw tasted bad and that I would like to exchange for mashed potatoes. Ordered the "New Smokehouse Half Chicken" meal with coleslaw and corn on the cob. The corn was mealy and inedible. The 1/2 chicken was closer in size to 1/2 pigeon and cooked almost beyond recognition with mostly VERY dark skin with very little meat underneath. After waiting in drive thru line for at least 20 minutes to get to the order window, finally made the order to only be told they couldn't complete the order because they ran out of chicken tenders. And offered me spicy chicken tenders instead, and then had to say sorry we sold the last spicy chicken tenders just before you and then they said if you can wait 6 minutes will bring it right out to you. Of course I took that offer. 23 minutes later and after seeing multiple cars and multiple people walk into the store and come out with some kind of food product, a staff member brought out the food to us without napkins, without the sauces that we ordered and a bad attitude. I asked him if they would compensate me somehow for having to wait four times longer than what they suggested it would be and he said no, and I said really, he said yes boss, no. So this place sucks and the staff has no concept of how to handle customer service. also the Door Dash people that apparently service that restaurant park in the handicap spot right in front their blatantly ignoring the sign while they are gathering up their doordash order. read more
