we've eaten here 2x. the drinks are delicious and surprisingly have alcohol in them - they are not watered down. the rice and beans are delicious. we did not get the rodizio. we got the triple entree - chicken, steak and garlic shrimp. it comes with a salad which is delicious. the dish was very very good. but the first time the steak was larger. this time it was super small. for $38. that was disappointing. but the service is great Leo and Thiago are amazing. their olive oil they serve on the table is delicious as well. dessert and coffee were terrific. my partner had the spanish coffee and creme brulee. both were fantastic. we'd definitely go back but i'd hope the small steak was just a 1 time oversight. read more

This was our first time, and we were a little worried due to the inconsistent reviews. However, it turned out we had nothing to worry about. The service was both friendly and efficient - none of the long waits I read about in other reviews. We started with the burrata appetizer - wonderful. My husband got the filet wrapped in bacon and I had the beef short ribs entrees. We fully enjoyed both. The cocktails were both tasty and strong! It's definitely a little pricey for the local area, but that is the only thing keeping me from a full five stars. Worst service you can ever have dining out. You wait two hours for apps and then don't get a full rodizio service. Multiple tables were sat after us and got their food and drinks long before we were even provided with ANYTHING. When you bring it up to management they do not care. You get one water when you sit down and never get a refill despite asking for it. They will offer you nice things like a bucket of ice for your $40 bottle of wine that costs not even $20 in the store and then never bring it out. Do not offer your guests anything you do not give a shit to provide. The management and staff profile their guests and choose to pick who they decide to give proper and efficient services to. Came here for Father's Day today, and the food was amazing. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. My dad and I both got the rodizio, and my mom got steak. We all left very happy and very full. This place is great! The owner and his family are super friendly and kind. The food is fresh and tasty. I love rodizio and every time we visit the food has been consistently good. Upon our recent visit we had a guest with us on a restricted diet and needed non seasoned meals. This might seem to others as an easy request but most places make a big deal about it claiming everything is already prepped ect. They have me no trouble and the meal came out as promised. There prices are a bit on the high side I will admit that and they need to add a changing table for both men and women's stalls. There was family of two males with there little girl siting next to us and we overheard them have the same and only complaint about a changing table not being present. However, several tables around us had it, and we were beyond impressed with the amount of food and service folks were given! You definitely need to be hungry to go that route! This came with multiple sides: homemade potato chips, collard greens, black beans and rice. This was in addition to the hot bread and olives that were on the table from when we first sat! I could not pass up a chance for paella, and I'm so glad that's what I ordered! It was superb!!! Visited this restaurant after reading good reviews. Was disappointed at the lack of no pork meat. We told our host and waiter we can't have pork and we did wait for non pork meat to come around which did not happen often. The meat was way too rare and the chicken sausage was not good. The waiters And servers were very nice and did what they can to accomdate however we were told by one of the lead waiters that the chef would not make filet without bacon because it was a Saturday night I was surprised at the lack of sides and in general how long we had to wait for the meat to come around. Having grown up in Newark, NJ where one can find some of the best of this type of cuisine around, I'll admit that I'm probably a little more critical than others. I went here without a reservation on a Friday night, early. I'd say that about 40% of the tables were occupied. The service was very slow, which was odd, since they weren't very busy at all. We didn't order any appetizers. I had the Rodizio and my son had the seafood paella. The food was mediocre to subpar. The portions are smallish and contrary to what some might think, the Rodizio is not unlimited and they strangely remind you of that. "Your last course is coming out next". What really stood out to me was a very small, limited menu. These places usually offer lots of choices. There just aren't many items to choose from, which is much different from what you get when you take the trip down to Newark, or one of my all time favorites, Don Pepe on Bloomfield Ave in Pine Brook. Bottom line, poor execution, limited choices and slow service. That was my experience. I will say that the flan for dessert was good. If you want the real Brazilian steakhouse experience, go down to Newark or go to Fogo De Chao in Manhattan. I will not likely return. read more

I'd give 0 stars if it was an option. Went here for dinner last for with 4 other friends. From start to finish it was a terrible experience. Firstly, they "lost" our reservation and we had to stand at the host stand for 15 minutes until we were seated all the way in the back corner. We ordered food, 3 rodizios, 1 paella and a steak. It took over an hour and 20 minutes until we saw any food come to the table and it was the steak, it was so undercooked it was inedible. When asked for it to be cooked more, the person was told that they "didn't know medium rare". Rodizio was so disappointing. Very overpriced at $40 for the lackluster meats that they're serving. Over salted, poor quality cuts of meat that were cooked to death. Had to ask 3 times for them to bring the filet, and they never did. The most enjoyable part was the sausage (pre made chicken sausage). At the end of the evening I asked to speak to the manager and I explained the situation and how poor our experience was and he accused me of never calling to make the reservation because his wife doesn't make mistakes while making reservations, said that the steak was cooked terrible because his cook had only worked a few days and didn't know. He asked me what he could do to make it up to me and I asked to have the steak comp'd and 1 of the rodizios because t wasn't enjoyable at all. He came back with the bill which was only for $24 (one pitcher of sangria) and he told me that his rodizio is the best and he sells it all day everyday and that if I didn't like it I could find somewhere else to go and eat and I said that I know of a much better place in Newark (Fernandez Steakhouse) and he told me get out of the restaurant and that he didn't need my business. First let me say that the food is good when they come if they come at all. However, this is the first time I go to a Brazilian BBQ and not have enough of food. Don't let the "All You Can Eat" Rodizos fool you. It is "All Is All You Can Eat" but they do not bring food to you that much so you can only eat what they bring to your table which is not often. Three of us ordered the the Rodizos menu ($49.99), there were Rib Eye Steak BBQ three different ways, Filet Mignon wrap in bacon, Skirt Steak, Short Rib, etc.... However, they only come around to your table once, if they come at all. We get ONE thin slice of Rib Eye, ONE small piece of Filet, and a small piece of Skirt Steak. In fact, they put 1 Chicken Sausage, and 1 piece of Chicken wrapped in Bacon on our plate then we waited for 10 minutes and after we complaint to the manger before they bring the Rib Eye around and offer us 1 slice. We tried to intercept the servers as they pass by but they just ignore us. The steak they brought over was too rare for my friends and we asked if they can cook it a little longer, the server said "OK" and left but never came back. I am from Brazil, a typical barbecue country. For this reason, I know to appreciate a good barbecue. So, I tell you my exciting experience in this restaurant: 1) perfect and amazing service 2) picanha met is so delicious: I prefer with garlic but they have with cheese too. 3) sides were perfect! This is the second time I've tried this place, it was just as bad, if not worse than the first time. We had to wait approximately 20 minutes to place a drink or appetizer order. About 5 of us ordered the rodizio, the rest ordering entrees off the regular menu. They brought the 'regular' entrees 10 minutes before the rodizio started coming out which was awkward. We also had to ask the waitress for the sides that the menu stated the rodizio came with, but were somehow missing from our table. I had even told them twice that it was my Mom's birthday that we were celebrating. Honestly, I wouldn't even bother with this place. We went here for the first time recently and found it to be fantastic. It's such a quaint little place that you wouldn't think from the street that it is as good as it is! Make a reservation, I'm pretty sure there is no other way to get a table, as every table was filled, and their timing on when people finished and the next party came was dead on! You MUST get the Rodizio! It's a meat lovers dream. They give you plenty of sides, but more importantly, they give you a well choreographed meat selection as each of the 12 selections comes to your table, 1 at time, about every 10 minutes or so! Then when you have completed all 12, they check to see if you want a round 2 of anything. The food quality is fantastic, and the service is spot on! Pretty disappointed. After hearing the raves about this place we decided to try this restaurant for dinner. Like a few of the other reviewers stated already, the meat was disappointing. It was as if they got their meats at A&P and grilled them up. First course was an overcooked pork loin. It went downhill from there. The short rib was inedible. I needed a hacksaw to cut it. The only courses we enjoyed were the sausage (!) and the filet mignon. My plate was littered with gristly bits and charred hunks of meat that I couldn't cut into to eat. On the plus side, the side dishes were tasty as was the desserts. Where do they get their pricing though? 8 dollars for a dessert after paying as much as we did for the rodizio is a rip off IMHO. Great ambiance. I liked how the restaurant owner was very nice and friendly and he works the rodizio himself! They are truly Brazilian. The place was decorated by them as we'll. the food? I loved the bacao(cod appetizer) and the croquets. I also liked the fresh fried potato chips and fried banana. The meat? Amazing. The top sirloin was very good and the chicken wings was very good. Ate here tonight with my wife and parents. This is a quaint restaurant with about 10 tables or so. You should make reservations to be sure you get a table. The staff was extremely friendly and polite. The best part about this place is that it authentic Portuguese from the ironbound section, but you don't have to deal with the hassle of Newark. We had garlic shrimp and Portuguese sausage for appetizers, both were delicious and there was more than enough to eat. My father got the rodizio, which was classic style, all you can eat. I found it to be more juicy and flavorful than the iberia's restaurant in Newark. All in all, great place to eat. We will definitely be back soon. read more
