The churros were warm and delicious. Crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. We chose the strawberry dip which went perfectly with the churros. We also had an horchata that paired really well with the churros because it was not too sweet. Highly recommend. read more

I always drive by this location on my way back to south hills and today finally stopped by. Don't come for me but not really a sugar persona but chocolate anything gets me going. I was here for the coffee cant wait to try the (Iced chocolate abuelita) and the rest of the specialties menu. First up: *ICED CAFÉ DE OLLA w/ oat milk rich & smooth blend can taste the olla literally 10/10 I'll be back for a couple more. Next up: *CHURRO SUNDAY w/ vanilla ice cream soft in the side crunchy from the outside nice coat of sugar 8/10 The prices are not bad and you can definitely share with friends they offer a variety of toppings and other items such as tea and milkshakes. The customer service in my opinion was awesome they greeted me quickly and the vibe was nice, my only tip for the owner would be to add low music in the background for a more comfy ambience it's too quite inside and ppl just waiting in silence makes it a little awkward. They don't have chairs idk why maybe ask someone address it. my first visit... it was vey busy but the crew worked quickly, professionally, and accurately. i was overwhelmed by all the fantastic choices, but eventually settled on the Chocolate Abuelita and a pair of OG Churros with a side of condensed milk. I'm so sad to give this a bad review because the girl who served us was so sweet. She's the only reason I even gave 1 star. They need to work on the ambiance- there's no chairs to sit down and everyone just kind of stands around. The churro was so disappointing. We were so excited because we we're getting them fresh - we had to wait some time for them. The first bite scraped my gums And when I looked inside .. it was hollow as hell!! all 4 churros were like this. I was so disappointed. Also... this is supposed to be a sundae. Sundaes come with whip cream, some type of drizzle & nuts or some type of topping. Save your money. And your gums. So much potential but the execution is badly delivered. read more

Sorry but I wasn't impressed. Was it because the gal inside spoke soooo highly of it? Idk, but I was disappointed. Pros: the churros were cut bite-sized which made it easy to eat. Not so messy. The come in a little open box which also makes it easy to eat. Cons: not enough sauce. So skimpy. Workers didn't have gloves during this pandemic. We visited this truck during Smorgasburg. I got plain churros with one scoop of ice cream and that was $13. These churros were better than the frozen ones everyone raves about at Disneyland. They were fresh made. However even though the texture was perfect, the churros tasted like they were made on old grease. They weren't terrible. But not as delicious as we had hoped. I still ate them all over a couple days though. :) I'd like to try them again just to see if it was an off batch. read more

The service is very friendly and warm right when you walk in, the lady who greeted us made my 4 year old feel very special, commenting on her cute T-shirt and asking about her school. Their churros are the boss! Hot and crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, they cooked them perfectly. They have several dipping sauces to chose from. I had the Dulce' de leche, which was sinful. Service pretty friendly, not much indoor seating inside to speak of, more for walking down the street than having dessert inside. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in downtown West Covina. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday night and decided to just order a coffee since it was 8pm and they were about to close . Ordered a 16oz horchata latte for a little over $8 dollars. The drink didn't even taste like horchata , it just tasted like grainy water with cinnamon. Not worth 8 dollars . read more

We tried Churro Boss at Smorgasburg. Make sure you go with family or friends since the portion is huge! The churros are crunchy and crispy and sweet and just addictive. I ate maybe 5 and had to stop myself from eating more. Definitely a must try! read more

Wow! What a treat! Since I was in the area, my friend and I decided to stop by since I wanted to try the iced coffee, while my friend wanted something sweet after our lunch. I ordered the Iced Horchata Latte with oat milk, while we shared a Boss Box. In a Boss Box, you get churros, 2 choices for toppings, and an ice cream scoop or and iced coffee. We decided to choose the condensed milk and fruity pebble cereal as our toppings. We also chose the strawberry cheesecake ice cream. Everything was so good! I really enjoyed my iced horchata latte, and the churros were amazing even by itself. I love how they're snipped into perfect bites. Since we didn't finish the churros, I didn't want to waste them so as soon as I got back home I froze them. Every time I wanted a small dessert bite after a meal, I popped it in the air frier. They tasted just like the first day when I ordered them. Our service was wonderful. We met the owner, Alejandra, and she was super sweet. It's super spacious inside. I went in about 3 weeks ago on a Sunday, a little bit after they opened, it was my first time there. The place is immaculately clean, and the gentleman there, didn't get his name was incredibly friendly and patient. He was very welcoming and made my shy toddler feel at ease, which was a huge plus for us. I'm not big on sweets but man churros with honey was eye opening and life changing for me. I don't live close but I would made the 2 hour drive for those churros any day of the week, highly recommend! read more

Over the past few weeks, my fiancée and I have tried about a half dozen churro places as we are looking for a special dessert caterer for our wedding. I'm sad to say that of all the places we tried Churro Boss was our least favorite. The churros were simply too dense and too doughy for our tastes. Even though they appear to be made fresh in the truck, they don't have that soft chewy inside like a freshly fried churro. Also the portions and prices are all wrong. Sometimes you just want a simple cinnamon sugar churro for a reasonable sub-$5 price. Churro Boss only serves up $10 churro boxes which have 8 - 10 churros bites in them topped with your choice of drizzle like chocolate, condensed milk, dulce de leche, etc. Other toppings like ice cream or Oreos are available for an additional charge. Even if you don't get the additional toppings, the portions are quite large and 2 or more people can easily share. read more

I asked what was in a specific listed menu item and she obliged. The drink was made pretty quick and they called my name when it was ready, I walked up and said, thank you and again the woman who made the drink, literally just turned her back and walked away. Needless to say, I would never come back to this location again. It's funny because I looked at the reviews and some people say all the customer services is awesome, so I don't know if it's Monday Blues, or what the situation is but even my daughter who was with me, said thank you when we were leaving and again no response. She literally told me "I said it just to see if they would respond after I heard you say thank you", and there was no response. We gave them several opportunities, with no response. That's too bad, my first impression was really bad from the service staff. I got the Mood Changer espresso, drink, iced. It had a good flavor, but a little on the sweet side, I prefer to taste more of a coffee myself. The shop itself is really cute, they have cute pins on the countertop that they sell with their name inscribed, they have cute cups, as well and T-shirts.

The first time I came I tried the popcorn milk tea and it was a little over rated. I think great for people that love popcorn flavored things but not my vibe. I've been wanting to try Churro Boss for a while, and I'm glad I finally did! First, the customer service is excellent--super friendly and fast. The space is also very clean, and I love the colors of the decor. The coffee is great; the iced café de olla was a bit strong for me, but still flavorful. The iced horchata, on the other hand, was perfectly sweet and right up my alley. I tried a plain churro with condensed milk on the side, which made for a perfect pairing. I also couldn't resist ordering cookies and cream ice cream, which was delicious as expected. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Put off by their prices. I know making it as a restaurant isn't easy but this is a truck and not an expensive one. Their cost is flour, water and sugar. 7 for regular and 11 for large and they cut it to make it look like more but it's not. Ridiculously overpriced. Sign also says unlimited drizzle. I ordered a large and got condensed milk on the side and asked for an extra condensed milk. Lady told me it's .50 or $1 I can't remember but the sign clearly says unlimited. Churro Boss in Covina definitely lives up to the hype when it comes to the churros--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor.
