This was our first time at a Chuy's. We had really good service here. Reece was our server, and he did an excellent job. Friendly, attentive, offered suggestions, just all around helpful. There is a free "nacho car" which is: chips, meat, beans, and queso with unlimited refills. It's decent, but I would still recommend getting a meal to get the better food. They have a lot of sauces to choose from. We liked the salsa because it had a little spice to it, then the queso was good, and they have a jalapeno ranch type sauce that can cool down any spiciness. We tried enchiladas, good but not great. Also got margaritas which seemed fairly average for the price. I would go back, but it's not one of my favorite restaurants. read more

Popped in for a bite to eat while on the road with a couple of coworkers and we all agreed, it was a good decision. I've eaten at the local Chuy's, but this one seemed to have a little more character right off the bat. We were able to get a table without a wait, and our server was on the ball the whole time. I was going to go with a familiar item, the Elvis Presley Memorial, but decided to try something new that out server suggested - the Macho Burrito. This was one of those occasions where being adventurous paid off. This was a tasty concoction that fed my need for both flavor and heat, plus it was filling. The other guys hated some drinks and the last place well was less then sparkling. We tried this place a couple of times. The food is ok at best but the shining light is the chips n salsa. I sat at the bar once and a group the second time. T ordered the beef tacos once and received the shredded chicken. The next time I went safe and got a taco salad. The service is spotty at best. Even the bartender had a whole lot better things to do when I showed up. With a group we got a little better service but our drinks went dry a couple of times. Tried this place for the first time with my cousin today. I arrived around 12:30 and did not have to wait very long at all for seating/service. The salsa was a bit strange and very spicey so it wasn't my fav but my cousin ordered some creamy jalapeno sauce and it was great. I ordered the "Panchos" with grilled chicken. Let me just tell you these were by far the best nachos I've had in Chattanooga. I'm pretty picky about guacamole and usually don't eat it unless It is homemade but their' s is an exception. It was Amazing! The price=portion ratio is great. My plate of nachos was huge and could have easily been split between two people. They have plenty of nearby parking. Disappointing. I had the flautas, and they were not good. My kiddos didn't like their kids meals (cheese quesadilla and mini burrito), and I couldn't blame them as they didn't look very good. My husband had the fajitas, and they were way better then my meal (similar to Chilis' fajitas). Service was ok--we were able to get refills when we asked. He did refill our chips once, which was nice because the food took a while to be prepared (longer than normal for Tex mex). The queso was good, and the chips were excellent. But we won't return since there's lots of awesome Mexican restaurants in the area with much fresher food (Taconooga, Taco Mamacita, Plaza del Sol). read more

I really wanted to like Chuy's, but as a professional restaurant go-er (I travel 75% of the year and eat in restaurants all over the world), I was disappointed. I ordered the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and although the menu said that I had a choice between two rice options and two bean options, the server didn't ask, so I had to point out the menu when she came back. The dish was pretty spicy, and even to my husband who loves spicy food. Also, the menu listed that it came with cilantro and lime, and there wasn't a hint of either on the plate. Tried Chuy's on a Wednesday night at peak dinner hour and was pleased I was able to be sat immediately. Our server Jason was energetic and personable. He brought out some of the creamy jalapeño sauce which mixes nicely and calms down the salsa (some bites had a real kick!). I had the Skinny margarita and the Chicka-chicka-boom boom enchiladas. He warned me of them being spicy, but for a spicy food lover I did not find the heat to be unbearable. I did wish the inside of the enchiladas had some cheese in it. I'll ask for this next time. He offered us a free Tres Leches cake slice since it was our first time. That cake was the most heavenly thing I've had in a long time. Great looking restaurant with plenty of parking. We were seated right away (got there at 11:30 AM on a Friday) and our server was very pleasant and attentive. I tried to be optimistic but just one after another this server just doesn't understand how to deliver service. We had to stop other servers to get us water. I was first introduced to Chuy's when I moved to Chattanooga. I have been back numerous times during lunch and am never disappointed. I typically get a veggie option; tired the Baja tacos with fish for the first time this week and wasn't overly impressed. Their margaritas are good. The spicy avocado cream sauce (I don't actually know what it is) but that's really good and that comes free with your chips so just ask! Service is always pretty quick; we can rely on getting in and out within 45 minutes to an hour. Typically during lunch we sit in the bar area which helps with quicker service too. 1 star is me being generous... My girlfriend and I had lunch here recently with some family and the food was halfway decent. The main reason of me leaving this review is because while I was having (and enjoying) my lunch with some family out of the corner of my eye I saw a small bug crawling on the ground in the dining room. Not thinking anything of it at first, it started to get closer and I realized it was a COCKROACH!!!! This was absolutely disgusting. It ruined everybody's appetite. We had a great experience here. Thursday night around 7:30, walked in to a smiling young lady who got us seated at a booth immediately. (We had been to Chuy's in TX before but never in TN.) The decor and vibe were fun and colorful. Our server Jacob was extremely kind. He looked you directly in the eyes with a friendly smile when speaking, which isn't as common as you might expect in restaurants! He had a warm and laid back personality and was very attentive to our needs. We ordered the chicken fajitas for 1, but shared it, and it was plenty for 2. We often split a chicken fajita plate at Mexican restaurants, and we both agreed - this was our favorite place to have it so far!!
