We just moved here from TX last month. We are fans and have been to several Chuy's in several states. I was super happy to find this place close to us. This specific Chuy's did not disappoint! Our waitress was attentive and our food was brought out in a timely manner. I was pleased to note that everyone worked together to take care of our table. Even when our server couldn't make it to the table, someone else brought our food and/or extra napkins and utensils. I ordered the chicken and cheese chile rellenos. I LOVE this dish. It was especially good this visit because it was piping hot like it had just been battered and fried, the chicken was cheesy and chile perfectly cooked. I really like their green chile rice too. Despite it being a chain, I really enjoyed this restaurant. The Talavera tiles, colorful decorations and fun ambiance was a feast for the eyes. The food was ok and the servers friendly. Great service, food and drinks. We enjoyed the margaritas. Thin tortilla chips came out with a jalapeño ranch dip and salsa. We tried again today: no one was waiting customers in front, we stood there and went and found help. During a business trip, I saw this gleaming restaurant on the hill near by my hotel. It was night time and with so much lighting, it seemed to be the brightest light source for miles! Upon entry, I was greeted straight away, and offered a drink list. The menu offerings are varied and attention-getting. I tried something called, "chicka chicka boom boom" which is basically a couple of burritos drizzled in green chilli dressing, very creamy, and paired with two choice sides. I chose refried beans and Spanish rice, along with a Corona. All together, the food was outstanding and well worth the stop in. I highly recommend this eatery for anyone in the mood for tex-mex style food and a sense of humor. Pros: Excellent food, wait staff is quick to make suggestions and return when called. Decorations are interesting conversation starters. Cons: entry and exit of the parking area is difficult to navigate, but that is due at this time, to construction projects on-going. read more

Yes it's real! I'm a Texas girl born and raised who is recently moved to Colorado. I have been desperately trying to find a decent stuffed avocado and chicken fried steak. I found the stuffed avocado and a Corona Rita here at Chuy's! Still working on the chicken fried steak. The avocado is fresh and delicious, but for those that don't like cilantro ask if they can have the stuffed avocado without cilantro. Corona Rita AKA Grand Pa's Brew is worth the price and hits the spot! First of all, I already know and love Chuy's for their food. Amazing chips and jalapeño ranch, love the boom boom sauce. 10/10 experience (cool and funky decor too). However, my review is about my waitress today. She was absolutely incredible. Her name is Natalie. She took care of my friend and I like it was nobodies business. Our table was never lacking chips and salsa, she was always around the corner with refill. She was super friendly and the best customer service ever! We love Chuy's and have been to other locations before but this was our first time at this one. When we walked in the hostess said nothing but "4?" When we went in. (Interesting greeting in my opinion.) She grabbed menus and then just started walking away. We followed though...we know the routine. Lol Then when we were taken to our table she laid the menus, napkins and silverware down and walked away. We looked at the table then at one another because the table she took us to had only 3 chairs (we were a party of 4). We quickly nabbed an empty chair from a nearby table. Once seated we realized she only gave us 3 napkins and 2 sets of silverware. Poor thing must have had a LOT of other things on her mind. Anyway, I was nervous for how this was going to go based on the start then the SWEETEST waitress ever came to our table. She was so patient, explained things we had questions about and was so good about checking on us. The food was fantastic and just as we ordered. The white sauce they bring is so yummy! If it weren't for our waitress being SO amazing this prob could have been a 3 star experience simply because the hostess set the initial tone but the sweetest waitress ever coupled with the yummy food totally turned the experience around. I wish I had taken a pic. Next time!!! Interestingly enough (and I find it amusing) the hostess had a tattoo of a power button on the back of her neck. Dropped in to Chuy's in the Springs this week. So glad that they are here! Had their amazing bowl of Tortilla Soup and just like always it rocked! Our waitress was lovely, the restaurant was quiet even though we were there at lunch time. Plenty of tables with customers seated but she took care of us in a timely manner, checked on us, and brought us extra chips and salsa. I've been a little behind on my yelping lately. We stopped at Chuy's about a week and a half ago. My husband ordered the steak burrito, which he loved. He also loved the fact that their burritos are massive. I ordered the chuychanga, which I loved. Their chimis aren't drenched in sauce or greasy. Also, they have really good salsa. I took away 2 stars however because the queso appetizer wasn't good. It had a peculiar taste and was runny like soup. Also, our waiter was very rude. We were the only ones there on a Sunday afternoon. He took my husband's plate before he was finished. Tried to take mine but I wasn't about to let that happen, I was really hungry. Lol Lastly he threw the check on the table without us asking for it. Regardless, we would come back. We'll just skip the queso. My husband and I were on same side of town as Chuy's and decided to give them a try.....Oh WOW what a GREAT EXPERIENCE ALLLLLLL THE WAY AROUND!! The food was phenomenally seasoned, the drinks were delicious and on point , our waitress was Alexis (hope I spelled correctly) she went above and beyond with such a sunny disposition and great knowledge of menu .... OH! .... and all of her recommendations DID NOT DISAPPOINT! This team paid great attention to our experience as well as all the guests experience there that day! To make all this seem even more surreal.... they sent over a complimentary piece of Tres Leches Cake and OH MY GOODNESS....Please go and give them a try .... I promise you won't be disappointed!!! So to be fair I'm not a huge Tex Mex fan. I prefer traditional Mexican food. But the food was decent. I give them 4 stars because I think the service at the bar was excellent. It's a chain, folks, so get over yourselves if it isn't just like that little place you went to in Guadalajara. Having said that, I thought it was pretty darn good. We had lunch on a Wednesday and sat on the patio. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive (but not so attentive that you just want her to go away for a while!). She was happy to switch out the meat on the stacked enchilada and kept our tea glasses full (extra bonus points for that one). The food was quite good. Big servings and tasty. I don't live on the northeast side of town, but I would definitely return to Chuy's next time that I am out that way. read more

We really loved the interesting decor and the open wall that created a good breeze even though it was 90 degrees outside. Skinny margarita was a perfect blend of sweet and sour. Bloody Mary was perfectly spicy with the right amount of garnish and the pina colada was so refreshing. Unfortunately the food was very run of the mill and service was spotty. Our server was friendly but took awhile to come back and check on us after initial sit down. People who had been sat 10 min after us got their drinks before us. Their relleno and queso was great, everything else reminded me of a much less expensive Mexican restaurant with a pink exterior. Last weekend my husband and I met with family at this Chuy's. My husband, my mother in law, and I ordered drinks, as well as an appetizer and food. We are very familiar with the menu here, as my husband's family is from Austin, Texas, and frequented the original location for most of his life. We sat in the bar area for about an hour and a half and closed out our ticket with our amazing server, Stephen, as he was leaving for the day. We waited for another family member to join us, at which point we ordered more drinks with a new server. Unbeknownst to us, however, Chuy's has a "drink limit policy". When we tried to order more drinks, the manager approached us and stated that they are a "family establishment" as two of the members in our party had reached their "drink limit" (3 drinks), despite the fact that was over the course of several hours and we were still ordering food and the like. We were asked to close our ticket and leave, although she said we were not being rowdy or inappropriate. Three out of the four members in our party have worked in the restaurant business for years and we recognize the need for a cut off at a certain point. However, the way we were approached and spoken to by that specific manager was embarrassing and uncomfortable as the entire restaurant watched us walk out. As she said herself, she was not concerned about our behavior at all, but yet she brandished the words "family friendly" as though we had been inappropriate. Chuy's is a very special place to my husband and his family, but the lack of sensitivity and discretion showed to us here has tainted our experience. I was so excited for Chuy's to open as it is really close to my house and it looks the part of an amazing Mexican food restaurant. When I researched it online, everyone talked about how good it was. In fact Salsa Bravo closed across the street with its anticipation. Well since it has opened I have gone to it twice. Amazingly it is packed because there are so many better options inside of Colorado Springs. The food it ok, but the price is not worth the taste. It is pretty expensive for only mediocre food. I liked the tortillas and the nacho bar, but the burrito I had was very average. I didn't love the green chili either. So... Long story short, if you want to overpay for Mexican food and wait in a long line to eat average food, Chuy's is where you want to go. read more

After our last visit and review, a member of the management staff actually read our review, sought out our feedback and actually called to discuss the challenges we faced. We returned after a couple of weeks to give this Chuy's location another try. Our server Monique was excellent. She provided just enough coverage to be attentive. This time we ordered the compuesto queso and it arrived at the table as ordered and presented with all the additional items seated on top. We ordered a Steak Burrito, Chicken Combo Plate, soft shell tacos with a Chicken Quesada. The Steak Burrito was flavorful and the chicken combo plate provide a variety of interesting flavors. Our son enjoyed the tacos and was slightly disappointed that his Chicken Quesada had one piece of chicken. Monique quickly rectified the issue with the Quesada and all was well. It seems this location is working out the new opening kinks and we will return for the consistent experience we have had in many other Chuy's locations. We recommend coming early and during happy hour to avoid the long wait. read more

Not sure how this place even got 3.5 stars. We were seated pretty quickly but took over 10 minutes for any wait staff to acknowledge we were there. No menus, no water, no chips and salsa, until my wife tracked someone down. Once our waitress arrived, she did a really good job. However, the food was really bad. We were a party of six and had enchiladas deluxe, taquitos plate, taco plates, and fajitas tacos. Fajitas were very bland. I understand this is Tex mex not Mexican restaurant, but how do you fail on making fajitas?!? Deluxe enchilada sauce was a ranch dressing type of sauce, to which my 24 year old didn't eat. Drinks were ok, reasonably price, but lacking in the alcohol. IMO, you may want to save the headache and go to a local taqueria. read more

I've been a fan of Chuy's since my college days back in Austin. I was super sad when they took my favorite thing I used to order off the menu. They were these blue corn tortilla enchiladas with an egg ontop (SO GOOD!) It took a while for me to find something else I liked just as much but I'm happy to report that the Chuychanga is amazing! I order it with the deluxe tomatillo sauce. Make sure to order extra creamy jalapeno dip! They give you 1 2 oz for free with your to-go orders, but you'll totally want more! The only reason they're missing out on that 1 extra star for me is because the beans and rice are kinda bleh and I still miss my enchiladas with the egg! read more

With the incredible weight, I was expecting amazing food. Unfortunately, the food was just so-so. The rice and beans were just average and the plates were nothing to really brag about. The Mexican food I've had in San Diego, Mexico and even in parts of San Antonio beat this by far. The wait staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Just as I expected, they did not fall short in service or deliciousness. PS. For the one person that complained on opening day about slow service....it was opening day. My husband had chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas. Super amazing and so happy to have a little piece of home in the Springs (especially when the Springs was lacking in the Tex-Mex dept) For those new to Chuys, here are some suggestions: Appetizers: nachos, guacamole, queso are amazing Light meals: taco salad, Baja tacos, the lite plate, and tortilla soup Burritos & Enchiladas: if you like spice, go with chicka chicka boom boom sauce. Do it on the side if you are unsure of your heat tolerance Chile Rellenos are crispy and delicious! (Top with queso and it's even better) Never make it to dessert but if you've never experienced the warm pockets of a sopapilla filled with gooey honey then you haven't lived my friend! Two of us ordered chimichangas. After waiting a while, they came to us dark brown and oily. Thinking maybe this is the way they cook, we ate part until we noticed another table where it looked lighter in color (more normal). When we complained, the server said she noticed that too. So our thought was a. Why was it even plated and b. Why did the server serve it. No manager ever came over to apologize until we saw one one on our way out to let her know what happened. The only good thing about this restaurant is the amount of time they got us seated in. However we sat waiting for food for nearly 50mins. The salsa was super spicy and the chips very salty. Was not impressed with the food when it did come out. I asked for enchiladas with no Chiles or peppers as I'm not very tolerant of spicy food. Enchiladas came out with Serrano peppers and was so spicy I couldn't eat them. Beans were crusty and dried out looking. Overall the amount time spent waiting for the food and the quality of the food resulted in a huge let down. The only good parts were that our server was attentive and friendly and the drinks were good. Might return during the SLOWEST part of their day to see if anything is better. Soooooo glad Chuy's came to the Springs! I'm a huge fan of Chuy's from when I lived in Austin, TX. It's a fun atmosphere, loud and crowded but that's how you know it's great! I'm usually not a fan of large portions but when I leave Chuy's I'm stoked if I get to take some home. You can't help but try all the salsas and experiment with their sauces. My favorite is the Creamy Jalapeno! A TIP: Have patience and know there's going to be a wait. The staff is always great at every Chuy's. If you're not happy in the end, you had an experience that's not typical. read more

I've been a fan of Chuy's for years. We had one in North Carolina when I lived there and we were very happy to hear one was opening in Colorado Springs. I ordered the steak burrito and it was absolutely amazing. We had to wait a bit to be seated but it was expected since they just opened. I definitely recommend you get some creamy jalapeño sauce to dip you chips in. Combine that with some guacamole and it's like heaven for the tastebuds. Caution- it's not Mexican Food its TexMex even they correct you. Don't go expecting authentic Mexican you will be disappointed. The only thing I don't like about this place is the salsa. I ordered a steak burrito to go. If I had opened it there, I would have refused the food completely. The burrito was just steak cut up inside an overcooked tortilla with beans and rice on the side. The tortilla stuck to the container and fell apart as I tried to eat it. I did not even get chips and salsa to fill me up. Definitely would tell people not to eat here. There are much better places to get average quality food at much better prices, and many places where you can get edible food at a reasonable price.
