    Creamy Green Chile Enchiladas
    Tony H.

We finally gave Chuy's Tex Mex a try and overall, it was a good experience. We ordered the beef fajitas, creamy green chile enchiladas, and the appetizer plate, which offered a nice variety of bites. The appetizer plate had a few standouts--especially the Panchos, which were like individual nachos loaded with toppings on each chip. The chicken flautas were crispy and flavorful, and the little chicken quesadilla-taco hybrids were fun and satisfying. The beef fajitas came sizzling hot with grilled peppers and onions and were well-seasoned. The creamy green chile enchiladas had a nice texture and the sauce was rich and mild, perfect if you're not into spicy food. Speaking of spice, the salsa was very tomato-forward--more like a bowl of diced tomatoes with a hint of seasoning than a traditional salsa. Good flavor, but we were hoping for a bit more heat. The handmade tortillas were a nice touch--more like soft, slightly doughy pitas than classic tortillas, but they held up well, especially with the fajitas. Portion sizes were just right for the price point, and everything felt reasonably priced for a sit-down Tex Mex spot. The service was great--friendly, attentive, and fast. While we enjoyed the meal overall, nothing really stood out as particularly unique or crave-worthy. There are other Tex Mex spots we prefer in the area, so we probably won't return. Still, we'd recommend giving it a try if you haven't. Most people will find something to enjoy, and it's definitely worth a visit to see if it hits your taste preferences. I would say 3.9 out of 5 stars if I could.

This is an amazing TEX-MEX restaurant! If you love Tex-Mex, you'll probably love Chuy's. If you're not sure about Tex-Mex, give it a try! But, if you prefer "authentic" Mexican food, you may not appreciate the flavors and recipes here. Our visit today for lunch was, as always, delicious! Our server, Hailey, was enthusiastic, helpful, and attentive. We tend to come during the lunch hour or early, so I cannot speak to how crowded the restaurant make it during peak times and hours. Like any restaurant, sometimes they may be shortstaffed, so keep that in mind When reviewing and saying your service was slow. Sometimes such things are beyond the control of the restaurant. At other times, obviously, service may be poor due to a server for attitude or some other problem. I just hate seeing reviews which dis a restaurant because they had a long wait or the kitchen was slow. Admittedly, I am from Texas and I love Tex-Mex food. Chuy's reminds me of Home and I always enjoy eating here. The decor, the retro vibe of the booth and tables, the artwork, all take me back to the original Chuy's in Austin, Texas.

I am originally from Austin, Texas and it is always hard to find Tex-Mex in Colorado. I genuinely think this chuys as close as I have ever gotten to a true Texas chuys. Josh R was amazing! His service was great and he was so friendly. The chicken fajitas were cooked to perfection, the tortillas were (of course) amazing, and the Tres Leche was absolutely amazing. You can not go wrong here! I will absolutely be back again!

So I'm rating this based on what I expected it to be. I didn't think it would be an elevated or infusion type Mexican restaurant so although it's not a 5 star restaurant, I am giving it 5 stars for what it was. Probably the best inexpensive and quick Mexi food I've had in a long time. Server was nice, food came out quick and hot. Absolutely no complaints! They make most of their dishes vegetarian too if you ask even though it's not listed on the menu specifically. I tried the chile rellenos with the veggie enchilada (instead of chicken) combo. I chose the deluxe verde sauce on the rellenos which was very tasty and the enchilada defaulted to ranchero sauce so kept that. Lots of flavor, nice assortment of veggies, beans that had no lard or pork fat, and the rellenos was super crispy. Would definitely come in again!

Wow! You wouldn't believe how delicious this place is! And the food too! The environment is speckled with classic car memorabilia and lovely seating. It's simply delectable to the eyes. Now let's talk food. If you don't order the creamy jalapeño sauce with your chips, you are missing out BIG time! My table went through four rounds of chips because of that blessed sauce It's a smaller menu, but you can tell these folks really perfected their craft! The photo is from my meal. I was too busy eating to take a photo before! Silly me! Service was impeccable and speedy. I felt like family here! Thanks Chuy (yes, that was Actually his name! It said so on his shirt!) I give this place a boppin' and bustin' FIVE STAR REVIEW!!1! (I would give 6 if I could!)

So when I saw no one has been yelping on Chuy's that should have been a clue. We used to love Chuy's in Orlando and we miss the good old days of freshly made tortillas and deep fried chile rellenos. Post COVID the menu has never rebounded. We were in a pinch and decided we would try the Chuy's which would be our third time since it opened. Needless to say this trip wasn't the charm. The chips and the sides of their sauces still were good and our server was awesome. The prices for a beer have skyrocketed as most things lately. We went with two cold beers and decided on the taco enchilada combo platter served with rice and beans. The taco was good but the cheese enchilada hardly had any cheese which was unfortunate. The rice was a bit bland but the beans had a lot of flavor. The side of hatch chile sauce was pretty good served warm and had a great heat level. Not sure there will be a fourth trip unless the menu changes and things return to the old days!

    Grimey stall door handle.

Food and service was great! We had a large party and the server/bartender did great. Food order came out correct and in a timely manner. Never had an empty table! Only thing I'd recommend is cleaning the men's restroom stall a bit better. Went to use the bathroom and the walls inside the one stall in the men's bathroom were riddled with dried boogers on 3 out of 4 walls. Door handle to the stall door was grimey too.

I grew up eating tamales from Grandma Carrillo. The town grandma. The food here was different than I've ever had. It was good, hot and well presented. BUT, We asked about the green chili there and got a sample to try. My brother and I know our stuff about green chili. We've never had green chili like theirs. It wasn't green chili in our sense of the word. It was more like tons of sour cream with flavorings in it. No heat and (in my opinion) kind of blah. The Chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was very different as well. Same sort cream base. When my brother and I first asked about the chili, in all honesty the waitress had no clue what we meant by green chili. I'm thinking that their versions are related to different recipes from different parts of Mexico. If that makes sense. but.. don't get me wrong, it was very good. Nice place to eat.. but give me some more common Mexican food. There was not ONE TAMALE in the menu. No sopapillas. No vermicelli. No chili con carne. Of your looking to try a different type of Mexican food, go here because it is tasty. I can NOT say I had a bad meal..... it was just something different.

Upon quick search online, this restaurant was only a stone's throw from the very food hall. And placing my order online was quite easy although since it was through a 3rd party app, for the restaurant to recognize my order took a minute (I called them after 10-15 minutes after I had placed my order and they fortunately had it in their system where they had already been working on it.) By the time I walked up to it, everything (two fish tacos, refried bean and elotes) were all nicely bagged and ready to go. Inside: Quite the ambience. What was most intriguing were the swing seats at the garage door that opens up at the street side (looking over Tejon Street. See photo I uploaded.) They are perfect place for kids to sit (although they might be (at the same time) dangerous if they are not careful as they can easily fall from them.) Spaciousness with lots of wooden feel. The lightings and tables/chairs all match to be harmonious. Employees/service: Friendlily greeted me upon approaching the kitchen entrance. One of them immediately handed me the food so there was absolutely no wait. Food: Quite good. Pescado tacos (2), refried beans (looked soupy at first and yet I realized that it was the perfect runny-ness when I took a bite and elotes with lots of flavors. All of them are good portions and the price points were at par. Whereas many will agree with me that this is not the most authentic Mexican place, decent/solid service, fun ambience and good/solid food are three main elements that make me say that I was quite happy that I got some food from Zocalo to satisfy my hangry-ness.
