I am going to share an important secret here for all restaurant owners, that they might share in the riches to be found by plumbing the depths of common sense - service matters. I don't care if you offer a free self-serve salsa and queso bar, have decently priced drinks and good food. If you treat me shabbily, I will not think well of you. It is that simple. I came to this Chuy's, in the thinks-it's-oh-so-hip So. 7 development, on a cold January lunch hour with some co-workers. I caught sight late of the "Free Valet" sign by the corner curbside, and as a result pulled up about 5-6' beyond the stand where the valet waited. Apparently he was unable to see beyond the zone directly in front of his stand, because we were ignored...pointedly....until we simply drove away to seek to park ourselves. There is some scant parking close to the restaurant, and we were lucky to find a space there. Those unlucky had to park in the dirt across the street and then try to cross at the light. We came into the restaurant and gave our name to a young gentlemen working as a host at the front. We were told it was a 15 minute wait, but we decided it was too much trouble to go somewhere else. After about 10-12 minutes I went out to my car to get something, and when I came back the rest of my party was gone. I therefore approached the same young host I had spoken to earlier, and asked if my party had been seated. He looked up from whatever mundane task he was performing, and cast upon me a withering look of contempt I can only assume would normally be reserved by him for someone who criticized Lady Gaga in his presence. I was then informed by him that he "wouldn't know anything about that," at which point he went back to his mindless work. This confused me entirely, and I looked around in a dazed state wondering just who the heck WOULD know anything about that. A hostess then came up to the stand, so I asked her. She was quickly able to look at the wait list ON THE DESK RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOST, and determine both the fact that my party had been seated, and where. She then looked over at the young host and asked him to show me to where my party was seated. Again the withering look of contempt at me from the host (now apparently thinking that I don't find Adam Lambert entertaining), as he thrust his finger abruptly to his left and declared, "if you go around the corner they're in one of the rooms down there." He then washed his hands of any thought of me, and moved on to the more important things in his life, like dirty menus. After setting out thereafter and finding my party, we ordered quickly. Our waiter was a breath of fresh air after my earlier treatment. Our order was taken quickly, and he remained attentive throughout our lunch. The food was quite good. I had the Elvis Green Chili Fried Chicken, which featured a tender chicken breast breaded in finely crushed potato chips and fried to a golden brown (DON'T JUDGE ME!! IT WAS DELISH!!). The rice was light, flavorful, and not as dry as many other tex-mex establishments. My party's only compliant was that the tea was a little weak. But throughout my meal, I could not stop thinking about my treatment by the host. It made me more and more angry, until I remembered that I Yelp. So here is my story. If you want to run a needle-sharp gauntlet of outright hostility on your way to a okay meal that you give someone money for, then by all means, go to the Chuy's on 7th St. in Fort Worth. If, however, you cling hopelessly to the inane conviction that you deserve to be treated like a human being when you offer to support someone's business by patronizing them in a down economy, then you would be well-served to: (1) see a psychiatrist; and (2) eat elsewhere. read more

Its average... I do recommend the boom boom enchiladas and cilantro rice... a little pricey but ok..

Chuy's is one of my all time favorites when it comes to Tex-Mex. Their margaritas are very good not watered down like most places. I like to get the chica chica boom boom, Elvis green chili fried chicken, chuychanga and let's not forget the tres leches cake for desert. The service here has always been great and let me tell you I go pretty often. Another great thing about Chuys are the prices, it's relatively cheap especially when you see the amount of food on your plate. Keep up the great work Chuy's, can't wait to go in again soon. read more

Unfortunately not impressed. Three of us came in on a Wednesday around 7 pm and we would have had to wait 15 minutes to sit inside, so we sat outside. Service wasn't great, never brought napkins, I had an empty drink a lot, food was subpar. Nothing special, probably won't be back. read more

We wanted to try a place we had not been to before. We were NOT impressed. The food was just okay. Taco Cabana or Rosa's is just as good, if not better, and much cheaper! The chips were good, but the salsa was more like pico. YUCK! I hate pico! Our waiter was not very attentive, and didn't know anything about the area when I asked about a near by place. Oh well! I'm so impressed by the service at this location. I went with a group expecting not to be able to eat anything because of my soy-free and dairy-free eating restrictions. I hate being the obnoxious person when I order things but this restaurant made it happen without a fuss. I have eaten there before several times and the food was just okay, but tonight at Chuy's the food -was not good- and the -margaritas were terrible-; and I'm being nice. The food consistency needs to be better. If you're going charge that much for food, a person should have reasonable expectation that the food is going to be at the same quality and consistent as before when you last visited. Chuy's is off my list to eat and bring guest too. From reading the past posts, they don't seem to care if the put out bad tasting food. read more

If I were rating this place based solely on service, I'd give it one star. The food and margaritas were decent though. Nothing special, but if you're looking for a basic Tex-Mex place then this is for you. If you're looking for good service on the other hand, go somewhere else. Our server forgot to bring us silverware, chips, water, etc. When I placed my order for tacos al carbon, I asked for the beef to be cooked to medium doneness. Our server informed me that "the kitchen could not do that." At first I thought it was an issue with the kitchen staff lacking the skill to cook meat... then our server continued on with a BIG. FAT. LIE. "Restaurants have to have a special license to cook meat under 140 degrees, and our kitchen doesn't so we can't cook your steak medium." Really dude? Not only am I cook in a restaurant that cooks steak, I have a smart phone sitting on the table and can easily Google your bullshit. If you don't have the confidence in the cooks to put out accurately cooked beef, just say something to that effect - "I'm sorry, but I can't guarantee that your steak will be cooked medium, but I'll ask the staff to do their best," would have sufficed. And it CERTAINLY would have been better than LYING. Smdh, terrible. read more

The last 3 times we have eaten here our service has been terrible and the food was just ok so docked another star.

Avoid this place like the plague. We waited more than 90 minutes for a table while others were seated ahead of us, and they treated us like we were an annoyance rather than customers. I won't ever set foot here again, especially when there are so many better ones to choose from. read more

Boring over-priced food. Tried chuys probably 10 times and each I wonder why I have returned again. I personally enjoy Taco Bell over chuys any day of the week. I think the only way to really enjoy this place is to take multiple shots of tequila prior to coming and completely lower any food quality expectations you may have. read more

Chuy's is always a decent Mexican fix for me. This was the first time I've been to this location and was surprised to see that it has a second floor dinning area. Not man places have that. The margaritas are great! Although it is easy to have one to many because of how tasty they are. I got the Chuy's Special which is Blue corn tortillas with chicken and a tomatillo sauce. I thought it was pretty good but not really an enchilada since they were layered and not rolled. Over all the experience was good and I would go back again. read more

I love Chuy's! Great tex-mex food for a decent price. We went here on a Thursday night and it was packed and pretty loud. The venue seemed to be a hit with the younger crowd and by younger crowd I mean (2-7yrs old). Just an FYI when you hear the screeching noises. It didn't bother my crew too much! We literally inhaled the free chips and salsa, they seem to be deep fried but whatever they did to the chips, they were wonderful. NOBODY makes chips like CHUY'S! We also treated ourselves with the margaritas which we heard are pretty popular. I got the strawberry margarita and I liked mine a lot, but many people would think it could be a little stronger. For a lightweight like me, I was pretty happy. For the appetizer, I got the tortilla soup and I honestly don't think I've had better. The soup had avocado, big pieces of chicken, corn and everything in between. For my meal, I ordered the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (say that 5 times fast) enchiladas. I was a little leery because the waiter said they were a tad spicy but I was intrigued by the Chuy's signature boom boom sauce. All in all, I really loved the dish, super cheesy, had a great kick to it, and the chicken was very tender. I'm over ally pretty happy with my experience here! read more

Although I normally love Chuys and this location has a great atmosphere, this was NOT a good experience. I brought a friend out for her birthday to the restaurant of her choice and our experience was ruined by our waiter being fired and escorted from the building while we were being waited on. The management would not even allow our waiter to close out our check. Our waiter provided us with excellent service and the restauarant had several people get up and leave when this took place. Not a good reflection on the management. Very disappointed. read more

Waited 40 minutes for a table. Got a table had to ask for chip refills. Waited and waited for our order and waited. Finally it got to the table. Cold as a stone. Fantastic Hatch Chile Green Sauce. Service was lacking. Our server seemed liked she had more important things to do, like flirt with a table full of men instead of promptly taking our order. The Happy Hours here is an absolute must. I went on a Tuesday night and they were so busy. Their happy hour was available for everyone and included queso, beef, and salsa. My new favorite place to eat! We stopped in Chuy's after visiting a few of the museums in the Cultural District. Chuy's was a lot more than I expected; the decor, includes art in many different media and formats and gives a fun and vibrant atmosphere. The menu had plenty of great choices, but since they were celebrating their annual green chile festival, I went with a combo plate with an enchilada and a chile relleno with green chile sauce - wow! It was terrific, certainly beyond even the high expectation that I had quickly developed based on the decor. I should add that the server was also great, very personable and attentive. Chuy's is about 30 miles from home, but I'll be going back whenever possible, it makes the drive to Fort Worth... worthwhile! read more

I absolutely LOVE Chuy's. My husband and I both say mmmmm out loud whenever someone mentions the name. Our favorite thing by far is their Hatch Green Chile sauce. You can get it on top of anything. I like to order the chile relleno and enchilada combo with the green chile sauce on top. Another great dish is the boom boom chicken which mixes the hatch green chile sauce with queso and is poured over chicken or made into a burrito Sooooo good. We always order a side of the boom boom sauce to start along with the jalepeno ranch dipping sauce. The decor here is fun and lively. Great for families and people out for a night with friends. I have always had good service and I highly recommend giving them a try. Parking tip, even though you may see ample parking across the street for the park, DO NOT park there. It says clearly that the parking is for park patrons and others will be towed. I was tempted to park there, even pulled in thinking how will they know? Luckily I did not push it because during my dinner there were 2 cars that got tickets/towed in an hour. They know people, they know! ;) read more

I have eaten here dozens of times and have never had a bad experience. Their fajitas rock and are significantly cheaper than Papasitos'. Their portions are great and they are on top of keeping their fountain drinks tasting just right. Their service is almost always top notch. Not a bad place for Tex - Mex. Definitely not authentic Mexican fair, however I don't think they claim to be, so that's not a knock against them. I think tex mex definitely has its place and can actually be really great food. I wouldn't call Chuy's "great", but good for a group to get together and have a fun time at. This used to be our go-to Mexican restaurant; however, after last night, I don't think so. First, the service. We were seated quickly, so that was great for a Saturday night. Unfortunately, that's where the great ended. Our server took our order and seemed irritated that we were there. She never checked on us, dropped the check on the middle of our table, said she'd take care of it when we were ready, and walked away. My husband and I both wanted another drink, so after unsuccessfully looking for her, I flagged down a different waiter who placed our drink order for us. Next, the food. The salsa was fresh, but unfortunately, we ran out and was never refilled (see service). The fajitas were AWFUL. They came out in less than five minutes, so I have a feeling that they were sitting in the back under a heat lamp. No sizzle AT ALL. We ordered the combo. The steak was so chewy that it was inedible, and the chicken was horribly dry. The server didn't bother to ask why all of the "steak" was left on the plate. She clearly wanted to be somewhere other than at Chuy's. Very disappointing. read more

I use to be a weekly visitor to this particular Chuy's for fairly good food and stopped going do to the excessive noise levels. You couldn't even carry on a normal conversation at your own table. We stopped going for a while and thought we would try again last night. The man sitting behind us had obviously had too much to drink due to his loud boisterous voice, slowed slurred speech, and use of profanity. I said something to our waiter about the profanity and all he did was look at the large guy and then back at me and apologized rather than inform a manager. There were small children about 12 feet in proximity that were also being exposed to hearing this guy. I am done with this Chuy's and having my evenings RUINED by inconsiderate people. read more
