I can confirm, the food is consistent with the Chuy's we all know & love. Our server, Jacqueline P, was sugar sweet and so attentive. She checked on us so many times and even gave me a bag of chips to take home. I always get the King Memorial plate, which I think used to be called the Elvis plate. Three enchiladas and a taco. As the restaurant name describes, it was chewy. I got an al a carte el carbon taco. It was filled with a few strips of the toughest meat on the market. If I wanted to, I could have pounded the meat flat and used it to re-sole my shoes. Needless to say, it didn't make its way into the gullet. The salsa was fresh and the chips did what they were supposed to. But that was the highlight of the meal. Have a beer and eat the chips. Skip the food. Better yet, consider skipping Chuy's. Our server was entertaining. He was a joyful gentleman. However, when we were leaving, the hostesses failed to thank us for coming in. There were three of them gathered at their podium all looking at their phones and gossiping. Maybe they were looking online for new jobs. Quick Tip: If my prior description doesn't dissuade you from steering clear of this restaurant, maybe this will. Upon entering and waiting to be seated, I was looking at the portraits hanging on the wall. I'm supposing that they are the venerated family members of the origin of Chuy's. Well, they were defaced. One was torn and had scribbling on it. It should have warned of a lack of attention to detail and respect. But I didn't heed to my gut and ventured in. Service is lousy nowadays. Pay attention to your tipping. They give you the auto calculated tip, but it includes the tax in their calculations. On a group tab, they figure the tip automatically which also includes the tax during calculations. I believe this to be illegal. If not, it should be. We were there a couple of weeks ago while visiting the area and the food was just not good. I shared a burrito with my friend, and we were assured that it was big and full. It wasn't. It was very lackluster and bland. Some of the sauces were OK. The worst thing was the drinks. We each ordered a top shelf margarita, and I swear it had no alcohol in it. We called this to the attention of our server when we ordered a second one. It didn't taste much different. In hindsight, we should've said something to the manager. This place has really went down hill! Ordered the steak fajitas, and what a disappointment. The steak so thin, tough, and burnt. I brought this to the attention of my waitress who promptly told me it's not burned. It's charred and that's the way they are. Well that's not how they used to be pre covid. Chips and sauce still great but that's about it. My waitress proceeded to tell me she doesn't make much money here and this is a temporary job. Ok great but i don't want hear that!! Why would I want to know that?? The tortillas were cold so i asked for some hot ones. Got another container of ones that were even colder!! Chuy's used to be so good but I doubt I'll be back. Create atmosphere, and amazing service! As soon as we sat down, our server brought us chips and salsa, which was delicious. The interior is creatively decorated and very energetic! I got the steak burrito (big as yo' face burrito) with Tex-Mex sauce, and it was delicious! It came with lots of sauce, which made it even better. The steak was cooked perfectly, and it was all around a great dish. Plenty of parking outside as well as an outdoor patio! The worst restaurant experience I've ever had--hands down. Terrible service, ridiculous wait time, and awful food (what little we actually got)! We waited over 1.5 hours, and the food still wasn't ready. The waitress kept giving us the same excuse: "The kitchen is busy--it'll be out soon." Over and over. So we waited. And while waiting, we ordered overpriced, disgusting cocktails. Even the free chips were stale and tasteless--the worst I've ever had. After waiting for more than an hour and a half, they finally told us they were out of chicken--which is exactly what we had ordered. And they knew it the whole time but didn't bother to inform us. Every table around us was also waiting forever--everyone was frustrated but trying to stay patient. The final insult? They never apologized, showed zero concern, and still charged us full price for the drinks. No discount, no compensation--nothing. We ended up canceling the order and walking out, absolutely furious and disappointed. I will never go back, and I'll make sure everyone I know hears about how awful this place is. read more

I was in Franklin and wanting some Mexican (tex Mex). I saw some promising reviews here on Yelp but, after reading, it left little to be desired. I saw that there is a Mexican franchise (Tito's) which I had tried in their Bellevue location and it was a real disaster. I honestly wasn't even aware they were all affiliated until I saw the owner responses to each negative review and it was the same owner who had responded to my review from 2021. So I opted for something else. Chuy's is cheap and cheerful. Immediately seated and served. I used to get the Elvis special but, last time I got it, there was WAY too much food. So I looked and narrowed it down to either the tamales or Chimichanga. I got the most Americanized thing and got the chimichanga. I used their creamy jalapeno ranch sauce and it was very good. The beans were not really that good but the price was extremely right I could not complain. These Franklin Mexican restaurants are not very good. Franklin excels in most areas and restaurant types but Mexican is not one of them. I returned home to Antioch with a full belly and satisfied. Antioch still has the best Mexican in Nashville. read more

Craving Mexican (not authentic) definitely would recommend Chuy's for a decent cheap mexican meal. To start most mexican restaurants just have complimentary salsa but Chuys not only has salsa but the creamy jalapeño sauce that I really enjoy. My go to entrees are typically #1 chicka chicka boom boom or #2 Chicken fajtias both are good. The service is typically fast, very family friendly environment . I've never had a issue with the wait staff, as they have always been helpful and friendly. Another plus about the restaurant is happy hour with complimentary nacho bar. read more

So, if I could go 1/2 stars, I would have been good with a solid 2.5 for this Chuy's location...but since I can't, a solid 3 stars it is. And I really love the Chuy's brand, but this location has some of the most off-putting service I have experienced compared to the many Chuy's I have visited around the country. This particular Chuy's is located on Mallory Lane in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Franklin. It sits alone, which is a good and a bad thing. The good is you aren't caught up in loads of traffic getting in and out...the bad is parking can get real tight on a busy day and there really isn't a great option for overflow. There is ample spots, but on those busy nights, be prepared. As mentioned, the service has never been good here. I have visited for work luncheons, work dinners and personal dinners and each time I get the same variety of poor service. It doesn't matter what time we come, our server seems annoyed that we are there, and this is the same attitude we get each time we check in with the host stand as well. Our last trip in we decided to belly up to the bar instead of waiting for a table and man, do I wish we would have waited. The bartender was rude, never spoke one word to us outside of asking for our drink orders. It was bizarre for a bar. I will give it to them though, at least they are consistent in their approach. Food wise, I have sampled a few things from the menu including their enchiladas, burritos and tacos. I will say that the oven roasted chicken burrito with the Tex-Mex sauce is where it's at, all day long! The other thing that will keep me coming back is that white goodness aka creamy jalapeno dip! Could put that stuff on a sneaker and I'd happily eat it! Overall, this Chuy's would be a lot better with improved service. The 3 hostesses that have been here for the last 2 years are incredibly bad at their jobs. This place has the absolute WORST hosts . Being an Austin expat relocated to central Tennessee, I've dined at the original Chuy's on Barton Springs many many times, as well as pretty much every other Chuy's location in Austin. We haven't visited the Franklin location often, mostly because at peak times the parking lot gets slammed, and our experience has been circling and wandering and praying that eventually a spot will open up somewhere. But recently, I was looking for an early dinner, the parking lot wasn't full, and I was really missing the closest thing to real Tex-Mex you can get in central Tennessee. Like any other Chuy's, it's a pretty well oiled machine, with the food coming out surprisingly fast. I liked that they served the creamy jalapeno dip along with the salsa without us even having to ask. It's a happy special request (and yes, you want it) at every other Chuy's I've visited. My go to is the hatch chili enchiladas, either cheese or chicken, depending on hunger level, because you will eat a lot of chips with the salsa and queso (do not forget to order queso!). The salsa is fresh, the queso is good. The world's best Tex-Mex chili enchiladas are at Maudie's, but there are no Maudie's locations outside of Austin, so the award still goes to Chuy's for the most authentic Tex-Mex in central Tennessee. read more

We were sat down at a two-top table in the middle of the restaurant. This was our first time here and it was packed (which we figured was a good thing). However, we had multiple servers walk past our table and not one of them stopped to say hi, bring water, give us menus, or even say hi.... absolutely blown away at the horrific service. We literally sat at the table for 12 minutes (we timed it) waiting for anyone to come help us. After 12 minutes, which began to feel like an absolute joke, we walked out. No one said a word SMH. We instead drove to La Hacienda about 7 minutes away. I can't stress it enough about how absolutely delicious La Hacienda is! They need to go on down the road to Twin Peaks if they're going to dress like that. But the real question is, where is the manager? Certainly this is not the dress code. Why is this being allowed? Next, my chicken tortilla soup was cold and the chip strips in the soup were stale. I had to send it back to the kitchen for it to be heated. I kept seeing a full parking outside this place when ever I pass by, so I decided to try it out. We called up and made a reservation. They greeted us well and gave us a table very promptly. We loved the ambiance of the place. They have different themes inside the restaurants for seating areas. That was well decorated and maintained well. Coming to the food the portions were huge and good enough for a stomach full and sharing. I felt the food could have been better. It was lacking a bit of flavor. Firstly it lacked some good spicy on the burritos. They have different sauces on the menu to try out. We excepted a little spicy on our dishes and that would really make the food delicious. I would say the must try out dish is Tres Lesches cake. This was delicious to the core. Overall it's a good place to have some Mexican food. read more

Tortillas are fresh and made in house, chips and salsa taste great and one of the few restaurants that still gives chips and salsa on the table. Got the chicken fajitas which were great. Order taken, food delivered fast and hot, and order was accurate, but the food just wasn't good. It was edible, but just not real flavorful, the corn tortillas they make their enchiladas with were super think and rubbery, the meat inside was just bland. My wife got fajitas and they smelled pretty good, just blah, no real flavor. She also gets corn tortillas instead of flour and they were the same thick rubbery things mine were. It's just irritating because they should never just assume a patron knows those things, when it isn't noted on the menu... To make natter worse, it took her 3x to give me correct change... Actually, that never really happened... She still kept the coins, without asking... My bill was approx. $33... So i gave her $100... She brought back approx $16 bucks, and I pointed out how i was missing the remainder, according to the figure i showed her on the calculator... She admitted, she had given me change on $50, not $100... Well, she brings me more money... But, I'm still missing $10 and the coins... Normally,i would've let it go and told the server to keep the $10+, but we'd had a bad experience from the start... I still tipped the suggested amount... But, I should've taken this matter up with management and let them tell me what to do... Good mgnt might tell me, food is on the house... Had this been my first time here, personally wouldn't return based on service... But, i just live down the street, so I'll be back for sure... Just gonna request a different server, if i get the same one... And, I think I'm still gonna have a conversation with the mngr... I would want to know what's occurring, if i were in their position... Bad experience. My husband ordered a margarita for us to split and I proceeded to inform our waitress that I did not have my ID on me. My husband got the margarita anyways. Totally fine and my bad for not having my wallet on me. Before our drinks even arrive (I opted to stick with my water), a Manager comes to our table to lecture me that I'm not allowed to take any sips from my Husband's margarita like I'm an 18 year old kid trying to get messed up tonight. I brought my family here for the very first time. Everyone really Love it, especially the kids!!!!! The was spicy but not to much, just perfect. I could tell the ingredients are very fresh. All of the staff was friendly and upbeat. I went in with a sad face and came out with a happy face. I love outdoor seating and this is the biggest outdoor seating I've ever seen at a Chuy's. In the mood for classic, no-frills, dirt cheap (but delicious) Mexican food? This is the place. Not gourmet by any means, but incredibly consistent and always exceeds expectations. Excellent service. My last two servers were some of the most skilled and attentive I've seen in a while. They took the entire order from memory and never missed a refill. Chips are perfect (crispy and thin), and the free jalapeño crema they serve is nothing short of addictive. Great for kids. The place is always bustling/ loud so you don't have to sweat it if your toddlers want to blast Cocomelon on their tablets or cry because they have to eat all their french fries before dessert (ask me how I know...) The building is massive with lots of different zones (main dining, large party rooms, inside bar, outdoor patio, etc.). Would love to come back without kids and catch a football game. read more

I first fell in love with Hatch chilies during my summer at UNM in Albuquerque in 1964. (Yes, that was a long time ago and yes, they did have them back then. ) And I have enjoyed them at various and sundry locations in a plethora of New-Mex, Tex-Mex, & SW dishes over the years. So you can imagine my joy at seeing them on the menu at Chuy's today. While we enjoyed the ultra thin and crispy tortillas with salsa and jalapeño cream sauce as well, the real pleasure came with my "Southwestern" Enchilada plate "a caballo." (For the uninitiated--unfamiliar, that is the vernacular for any dish served with an egg on top.) After tasting a tiny bite of everything, I completely smothered my plate with extra hatch chili sauce. Heavenly! Service was exemplary, all the food we ordered was great (although I found the Spanish/Mexican rice to be a bit over seasoned with chili powder - almost bitter). Pulled chicken in my enchiladas was tender. Refried beans were yum-a-licious. Ground beef tacos were savory but nothing out of the ordinary. The Monday special (called Wild Burrito) was a tummy stuffer. But without question, the joy of today was a throwback to summer in New Mexico more than half a century ago. When we arrived, we were sat instantly. The waitress was very nice and attentive and started to take our order immediately after bringing us chips and salsa. In addition to the salsa, they gave us like a creamy ranch dip as well. It was pretty good and my first time having it. For my entrée, I got the avocado chicken burritos. They give you a nice portion along with the rice and beans. It was a bit bland, but it was still good, especially if you add in the salsa and ranch dip. It was Happy Hour, so I had the small lime margarita. It was good with just the right amount of alcohol. The prices are good!
