When we arrived, we were sat instantly. The waitress was very nice and attentive and started to take our order immediately after bringing us chips and salsa. In addition to the salsa, they gave us like a creamy ranch dip as well. It was pretty good and my first time having it. For my entrée, I got the avocado chicken burritos. They give you a nice portion along with the rice and beans. It was a bit bland, but it was still good, especially if you add in the salsa and ranch dip. It was Happy Hour, so I had the small lime margarita. It was good with just the right amount of alcohol. The prices are good! Chips, drinks, and food was plentiful during Sunday brunch! We checked in for the waitlist as soon as it was available and arrived 15 minutes later and were seated right away. But it gets busy, so plan ahead! The waitstaff is extremely efficient and works as a team. I heard one worker say jokingly, I am here to look cute, not to work, but I got the sense that everyone was working hard! I got the chicken tortilla soup which I thought had a lot of flavor. My son got the kids beans and cheese mini burrito which comes with a drink. We also got the queso dip which is a big hit with my son. Eaten there 3 times in last 2 weeks: First, the food is REALLY tasty, unique, cheesy, and comes out very quickly. This is NOT authentic Mexican, but really good tex-mex style. The salsa and creamy salsa they bring with the chips is AMAZING, and the main reason we came back. The chips are light and salty! The taste of all our meals was very good! (wanted to give 4-5 stars, but keep reading) The staff was quick, friendly, and the food came out quickly. We loved the chicka-chicka boom boom (yes, that's the name). The amount of chicken in all 3 visits was not consistent, though the price was the same lunch vs dinner. For dinner, it was loaded with chicken, for lunch they were much flatter, despite paying the same as the dinner menu. The restaurant is not as clean as one would hope. I've been 3 times in 2 weeks and the soap dispenser in the women's bathroom as said "out of order' for every visit. The floors in the bathroom need attention. The WORST thing we saw was that the waiters (twice) touched their faces, bills, credit cards, menus, then used their BARE HANDS to steady the chips as they poured them into the bowls. There is a big scoop, so no need to touch the chips with their hands, but sure enough, they do...and I saw 2 male waiters touching their face before touching the chips. GROSSSSSSSSSSS. I'm sure this is a quick fix by re-training the staff, but this is a big no-no. The other male also had just handled a check-out handling a customer's credit card, didn't wash his hands, then filled the chips also touching the tops to steady them into the basket. They are in a back corner and probably assume no one can see this. This is what brought me to a 3 star. Big NO-NO! The restaurant inside could use a really good deep clean, lower the heavy metal music near the bar if you're going to seat 50+ back there, and fix the big sanitation issue with the bare hands on the food. read more

This place continues to let me down. I have yet to have a good meal, although I know several people who love this place. First off, do not get their taco salad if you're used to getting taco salads from any other Mexican restaurant. This place literally gives you a dry bed of lettuce with some beef and cheese thrown on top. (No cheese dip, etc.) yes it's technically a salad, but not like a normal taco salad from a Mexican restaurant. It's way too expensive for the quality. I've had better Mexican food from just about every other place I have ever visited. They're also wayyyy cheaper. I'm giving a 1 star just for the nice service and how pretty the food looked. First, it helps to know that I am allergic to onions and avocado. Because of their website set up, I wasn't able to place an order online since there wasn't a place to note these two didn't need to be in my order. When I placed the order, the guy who took my order seemed very inconvenienced about having to take an order over the phone. When I got my order, the Queso was missing, and my fajita salad was literally just lettuce, cheese, and steak. There was no salad shell. When I asked about the shell, I was told that they didn't include it because of Covid. I know that's not true, because I ordered the same thing in the last year, and the shell was included in my order. Also, I had to place a second order since they forgot the queso in my first order, and they charged me $10 for the small amount that I received. My first time at Chuy's and I had a great experience! We were a party of three, and we took our time to pick what to have, but our server was so kind and patient with us. It was my first time so she showed me all the sauce on a plate, answer questions I had and I am so thankful for her friendly service. They lost my credit card!! Had dinner with a friend, we said to split the bill. We each handed her our cards. Wondering why it's taking a while to get our cards back so we can leave, the server finally comes over to tell me she was very sorry but she lost my card.... She still had my friend's and charged her half of the bill but she paid my measly $20 tab to make up for it?! Insufficient apology and completely unacceptable. She said she looked for it and just couldn't find it. A manager didn't even come apologize or anything. The next day I stopped by hoping someone found it. No luck, but was able to ask the manager about it and he seemed completely unphased. If anything, they all seemed more inconvenienced that I had them look for it again. The table salsa and jalapeño ranch served was fresh and flavorful. The special advertised as Pork Enchiladas and Green Chili with Boom Boom Sauce was somewhat disappointing. My wife had the chicken option that was similarly described and they both were bland for our tastes but others may enjoy more than we did. Do you visit a business because it's like it's competitors or because it offers something different? The pandemic saw businesses dive into survival mode by shrinking available products to a point of sameness. As Chuy's menu took that dive, customer expectations were left hoping the original menu would return. What we aren't seeing is any step in that return direction. It seems the owners are happy with the lower overhead of the reduced menu and are going to stay there. Coming to Chuy's these days is a bit like attending a wake where no one actually knew the deceased. It's the same festive paint on the walls, but the place is cheerless. Almost soulless. The spirit of Chuy seems long dead and gone. Not even the bartenders seem to want to elevate the mood. The Chuychanga and Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom enchiladas are about all that's left of Chuy's originality. The things that kept me coming for years are no longer available. Seeing a large sign for "Under New Management" could make more sense to reset patron expectations to "Oh, yeh, well...we changed. Might work. Might not." Maybe that works for you. So, why would I visit again? Exactly. I'll support competitors (and there are many) who stayed true to themselves and their customers. Chuy's? The jury is still out, but a fitting epitaph might say it was that restaurant chain from Austin that got COVID, lost perspective, and died trying to be just another almost Mexican restaurant. Stopped here after running around all day. The place was packed, don't know why because the food is just fair. We were wanting a combo platter, one with a taco and enchiladas, but didn't see it on the menu and were told they "streamlined" the menu and they didn't do that anymore. The wait to be seated was a bit longer than we were told (we should have used Yelp to join the waitlist early). But with a party of eight, I can't be too upset over that. Once we were seated, though, the service was fast. Drinks were delivered promptly, and the chips and salsa were plentiful. I ordered the "big as yo face" beef burrito. Today, when I got there, I informed the girl at the front that I had a reservation, and before I could finish my statement, she barked at me that they didn't take reservations. She got the general manager, who also wasn't helpful. No one took my name or utilized any customer service skills to accommodate our party. We ended up being seated anyway, but the table was too small, and they were unwilling to add another table. According to the waiter, the table they would pull belonged to another waiter. We drove up today from Birmingham, Alabama and someone had recommended that we come and eat here. We ate outside which was nice. Everyone was social distanced. However; Denise, our waitress, was terribly unprofessional. We noticed that she seemed more conversational with the other customers but was very short with us. The rice was burned but she said that it was Cajun and that's just the way they cooked it. We told her that we eat at the same restaurant in Birmingham and she said, "Oh, we trained them." When I spoke to the manager about this waitress, her response was, "we've never heard this about her before , but we will talk to her." She walked by us multiple times without acknowledging us. Had to wait too long for drinks, food, refills, attention really everything. None of that was the worse part. The food was terrible. We ordered fajitas (cold, overcooked) , tacos (looked so bad they were not touched), enchiladas (tasted like they were made hours before serving). Our drinks were equally disappointing. Maybe they think it's fun to eat 2,000 calories in a dish or have never had real tacos (re: attached photo) or maybe they're getting blasted like it's TGI Friday's (Where are they now? Not in business in Franklin). Nothing here is something that you couldn't re-heat in the microwave in a frozen dinner. The meat is tenderized and seasoned with only sodium, guac is bland, tacos are... Not tacos. Honestly, Chipotle is probably a healthier choice even though the calorie count is still astronomical. If you have a discerning taste bud, just one, in your head or don't want to be 500lbs by 50, please go somewhere else. The current problem with the food choices in the area is that people go. I love this Chuy's. It took me awhile to convert to a Tex-Mex fan, but after eating here more than 80x ...I'm there. The service is amazing 99.99% of the time. The wait staff is professional, fast, and on it. Regarding COVID, I'm so damn proud of this location. They've added little plastic barriers between the booths, the wait staff is masked, and customers are asked to wear masks until they are seated. Plus, you can wait in the car and they will text you when you're table is ready. Food... Anything with fajita chicken or steak. Their grilled meats are yum! Looking for camaraderie and good food? Look elsewhere. We were looking for a place to gather on Labor Day weekend and chose the Chuy's at Cool Springs. When we requested to put a table together to accommodate our full group, we were met with a hard "no." The extremely kind waitress tried to help us by doing it herself, but management quickly came in and divided our group. What made us more upset was that a group next to us was able to push their tables together right as we were finishing our meal... We're confused and extremely disappointed that the management couldn't treat all patrons equally. I hope this doesn't happen to other groups of more than 5 people LOL. read more

So we know now , that is one item that will be fresh...I don't know if this is a feature on all the Chuy's restaurants.- but it was on this one! Our server was very friendly and brought our chips and salsa along the jalapenos ranch sauce fairly quickly. We did liked the jalapenos ranch sauce and salsa. thumbs up on these items. Now to the main plates. We ordered fish tacos and the chicken enchiladas and the tortilla soup. The fish tacos came with a very good size fish on each taco. The chicken enchiladas had a good presentation but the chicken was very dry chicken and needed a bit of some freshness of something, so I did pour some of the salsa and made it perfect. The rice and beans had good taste. I had the Charros bean with my enchiladas and the fish tacos came with the refried beans. We like the idea you could order two different kinds of beans and rice. The tortilla soup was "ok to borderline good" . Food came in fairly fast. One small observation: I would suggest to add to the grand menu some " GRILL " items (veggies, meat or chicken or both) for those who are in keto diet.
