Looking for camaraderie and good food? Look elsewhere. We were looking for a place to gather on Labor Day weekend and chose the Chuy's at Cool Springs. When we requested to put a table together to accommodate our full group, we were met with a hard "no." The extremely kind waitress tried to help us by doing it herself, but management quickly came in and divided our group. What made us more upset was that a group next to us was able to push their tables together right as we were finishing our meal... We're confused and extremely disappointed that the management couldn't treat all patrons equally. I hope this doesn't happen to other groups of more than 5 people LOL. read more

No chance this is over 3.5 stars. Read many of the 2-3 star reviews, seems consistent with my visit. Not sure if it's from the pandemic but the burrito was awful, few dried chicken pieces total in the burrito, gross beans, tasteless overall. The cheese dip wasn't bad, but overall doesn't compare to the origins of this place (Houston TX Area). Service was good for the most part. Chips and salsa good. Pretty good Mexican chain food. We came here for lunch and I was starving so I decided to order the fajitas. This definitely hit the spot and in addition they give you chips and salsa (or you can ask for their special white sauce - essentially ranch). I would leave zero stars if it would let me. We ordered the quesadilla appetizer, it comes with 4. Two kids quesadillas, two in each order. And a chimichonga. We got it to go. I checked it in the car. Everything was cold. Between all 6 quesadillas there wasn't enough cheese to make one. What a joke of a place. Don't waste your time or money on this place. Chuys is my favorite restaurant. I've been to the locations in Houston, Austin and Atlanta many times. The food is wonderful! But I'm sorry, the Cool Springs location is not up to par. First, they are not following Covid guidelines. The staff are not wearing gloves, there is no hand sanitizer anywhere to be found (I looked), and when I sat down, there was someone's used mask under my chair (along with some broken chips, a used napkin and a receipt). There was something sticky on the table as well. I pointed out the mess on the floor to my server, and he didn't do anything about it. 20 min later, I finally went out to the foyer and asked the greeter if someone could sweep it up. Our server was friendly and trying his best, but the chips were really inconsistent - some so greasy they were transparent, others stuck together 4-5 deep and hard as a rock. My enchiladas were cold inside when they arrived - had to send them back to be nuked. Hey were tasty once they came back. More attention to detail is definitely needed at this location! read more

Love this Chuy's! Since this is a chain, I'll keep my review shorter. I have visited this location several times recently since I'm currently addicted to their Mexi-Cobb salad. They always seat us quickly and have attentive service. I love their happy hour, especially the fact that it runs from 4-7! We recently visited during happy hour and had several of their delicious house margaritas for $5 each. Who can resist their margs with some creamy jalapeño dip and chips? This location also has excellent carry out. I've visited several times, and my order has been ready within 10 minutes. You can park in the to-go parking and call for them to bring it out to your car! How convenient is that? Overall I love this Chuy's location! The manager has shown a great deal of interest in making sure customers leave happy. read more

Average food and service. Portions were generous but just cannot compete with authentic Mexican food. About what I expected from a chain.

There was no one thing that made the experience sub par. We walked in and were greeted by a host who didn't say anything to us beyond Hello. When we sat down there was a plate sitting in the window from the last table that was never cleaned up. Our food was slightly warm, but nowhere near hot enough to even melt the cheese it came with. Our server refilled our drinks but made himself scarce one the food hit the table. The best thing was the chips and salsa. Over all just a regrettable way to spend an evening. read more

Awful. The wait was really long and it was so hot and loud in there. It took several minutes to get a server and when we did, she was not really attentive and spent her time chit chatting with other people. The table was absolutely disgusting and not cleaned at all. gah, not a fan of low reviews, but really if you are Franklin and have a hankering for Mexican food, there are better options. Yes, this is the only Tex Mex I am aware of in the area, but everything I've had here is mediocre at best. The chips are fine, but the salsa is worse than a jar of pace from Kroger that has been sitting out for a couple of years. They also serve ranch with the chips, which maybe some are into, but I think it's a bad combo. I got the enchiladas and the chicken was dry, the sauce was pretty bland. The rice and beans were fine. We also got the flautas, which were just basically the frozen taquitos you could also get from Kroger. I guess the only upside of this place is it's pretty cheap. But I'd recommend Oscars, Garcia's or Sopapillas if you are craving Mexican food in Franklin. read more

Usually great,but tonight was different. We ordered takeout and pulled up right on time. A lady came stumbling out with a red drink in her hand and basically threw our order in our car. When we got home our order was horrible. We ordered double rice on our meal and they put double beans. There is no way that you can read 2x rice for 2x beans?! Love Chuy's and was excited to eat there after driving over an hour to get there. However, the host was sooo rude. Ignored us when we asked if the bar was STILL open seating (it was last time we went) and so we went in there and sat down. Waited 10 minutes with a dozen servers walking by and finally one said, this isn't open seating. went back to the front...same host...still didn't acknowledge us for a few minutes and then said 2? When I first saw this place, as I was driving past it, I thought it was a Chevy's Tex Mex and so I planned to come back for supper. Was surprised when I arrived that it was NOT Chevy's but something similar. (This can't be coincidental, right?) The place was fairly busy on a Taco Tuesday night so we opted to sit in the patio. The chips were very good, as were the two types of salsa. Since my wife doesn't like spicy heat, they should tone it down a little for at least one of them but I loved them both. Service was a bit spotty - they are probably understaffed as are many restaurants in the USA in early 2021. The servers were friendly, just stretched a little thin. The food was better than your average Mexican non-chain restaurant and we each had to take home part of our dinner platters. The music was not only loud, but hard-rockin' and I'm not sure it would be a good idea to bring Granny or Grandpa here for a quiet evening. But again - awesome chips and dip - enough to bring me back. I'll have ear-plugs next time and bring a bottle of water in case they're too busy to do refills... read more

I will say positive is that this place has great food, however, we had a birthday and had to wait about 2 hours to sit down. I know they do not take reservations, but I called the week before to see if we could get in if we get on the waitlist when they said, and they said no problem. Then, I also called that night to make sure we were good before putting on the waitlist and they said we should be fine. The main issue is that there are tons of tables that they are not using and we had to wait. I get it.. not enough staff. They could have opened up two tables for our large party since this is my friend's favorite place and we called in advance for her birthday. We did get free queso which was nice, but they acted like it was our problem that tables were not ready. I do not know.. no customer service? The movie theater will give 120% more customer service than this. The chicken was not done. It normally is but a lot of them said their food was not done. It was just disappointing. A fun Mexican restaurant that as a bonus has valet parking because they're so busy and parking is at a premium. The prices are good, the serving sizes are impressive and the margaritas are ice cold. They handle large groups very well and have an extremely fun atmosphere. The servers do a great job of keeping the drinks filled, as well as the chips and salsa constantly being resupplied even for a large group. read more

My family has been eating at this restaurant for 10 years. We come once every couple of months. We went to eat dinner tonight (Friday), and arrived at the restaurant around 7:40pm. There were lots of open tables, and it seemed as if the "rush" had passed. We were seated at 7:46 (I have the text to know for sure). We sat down and ordered about 3-4 minutes later, as we all knew what we wanted. The waiter brought our waters and first round of chips and salsa. He soon brought a second basket of chips, and topped our drinks off. Around 8:10, I see a table that was seated after us get their food. Ok - no big deal. We didn't order anything too crazy, but who knows. At 8:20, another table gets their food. That's when I notice our server log in to their system, and the manager walk over to him. They both headed to the kitchen, and I assumed our order was going to be rushed out. Five minutes later, our server comes and tells us that he entered our order for the table next to us (who was seated after us), and Vice versa. Ok - so where is the food? At 8:35, the other table gets their food. I told my wife that at 8:40, we were leaving if no food was brought out. A young lady who was not our server turned the corner with our meals at 8:39. I did not get an apology from the manager, and the BS excuse from our server was completely unacceptable. I paid the full price for our meals. CHUY'S YAY! Ya know, the quality is okay. When I think of coming here, all I think about is the spicy salsa and the crisp incredible chips. I think I've tried a few different meal options, and I have neverrrr been impressed. What I do love is the car filled with happy hour complementary NACHOS and the cheap margs. I'm ALL ABOUT the swirlie margs at half off, or whatever they are. The discount is generous, but beware, it is ALWAYS SUPER BUSY for happy hour. ALWAYS SUPER BUSY. Big parties, stay away. Arrived at 8:30 on Saturday night with a party of nine. The restaurant was maybe half full. The hostess tried to sit us at two four tops pushed together (seats 6 comfortable). There were at least 5 empty tables near by yet they refused to add a table. They forced us to either cram in or separate. When asked why, it is the GMs policy. Apparently this is one of the busiest restaurants in the Franklin area. My in-laws have told me of two hour waits on weekends. We were in town on a weekday for lunch and decided to stop by. I had the boom-boom enchiladas- they were pretty good, but nothing special. The sauce was just too rich for my taste. I did enjoy the quite spicy chunky tomato salsa, but the red table sauce was mediocre. I also had the $7.50 top-shelf margarita, which was terrible. It barely had any alcohol in it, and there was so much ice, it barely had any margarita in it. They had a news article posted on the wall of the restaurant. Apparently this chain was started by a bunch of former executives from O'Charleys. You really expect people from a mediocre American restaurant to suddenly come up with a fantastic Mexican restaurant? Not gonna happen. read more

The service was good. The food was just ok. The queso here is not traditional being yellow, not white. The guacamole is a bit bland. The taco was a good portion. The chips were warm and fresh. I like the salsa but it's more a pico than a red salsa. I would go back for that but probably not order much else. The bathroom was awful. I frequent this Chuys quite often and have yet to write a review until now. Every time I come in I am happily greeted by the hosts at the host stand and either told a wait time (which is rare because the restaurant is pretty large) or promptly taken to my seat. I was dining with a friend who was already seated in the bar area that was pretty dead at this time, 3pm. Kendra, our server, greeted us with a smile (and chips and salsa) and asked if we wanted to check out their drink menu or start with a water, which we did. She recommended the Wednesday special, Avocado Green Chile Enchiladas. Both of us were immediately hooked at the detailing of the dish she gave us and ordered two of them! Giving Chuy's one star for average chips and salsa! Service was a series of wait staff, not one attentive until the check came and once they had a credit cards in their possession they were not seen again for at least 10 minutes- not cool! Chuy's food- rewrite your menu and don't bother describing your dishes, very few items were served as described- cilantro dressing = below average bottled Italian dressing, tortilla soup= canned chicken noodle soup, blue corn veggie enchilada = tough, undercooked zucchini enchilada (no taste, unbalanced, underwhelming dried out blue corn tortilla) salad= a bed of uncut lettuce, bruised tomato, ZERO FLAVOR- served with Italian dressing no seeds, cheese, onions etc. at least throw pico de gallo on salad and fake some intent!
