We decided to eat lunch here before heading home from our Disney trip. It has been a while since we went to Chuy's and we found this experience underwhelming. The chips delivered to the table was fine. The salsa/pico delivered with them was super spicy. We like spicy, but this was "kill your tastebuds spicy". Just a little too much. My husband got the chimichanga. It was fried so hard, it was almost burnt. My daughter's kids tacos had almost no cheese. What they did have plenty of was grease. It dripped out of the tacos and pooled all over the plate. I got the mexi-Cobb salad. It was described as having green chilis. I was expecting, well, chilis. What I got was bell peppers. Which I guess is technically accurate, but not what I would imagine most people think of when they think green chilis. Finally, my husband got the creamy Jalapeño sauce with his chimichanga and I got the cilantro vinaigrette with my salad. They just tasted like ranch and Italian dressings. No jalapeño or cilantro flavor profiles at all. All that being said, it's unlikely that we will be returning here on any future trips. read more

So I would have rated this place higher but the girl working the front desk this evening was a little too sassy for my liking. I forgot my wallet and had to come back to get it. Was heavily questioned when called on the phone (totally appreciate that so no one else could have asked for my wallet) but when I go to pick it up and say, "Hi, I'm here to get my wallet, they said it was in the office," and then she quite nastily asked me what it looked like, wasn't pleasant in any way. Then when she came back she asked me for the name on the ID and I said, "I mean, it should look like me..." And she repeated herself but even nastier than the first time. This place was really fun, from the decor to the menu! The location we went to seemed to be brand new, which was also nice! We sat out on the patio... It was decorated really cute and there was a nice breeze. The chips and salsa they put on the table are absolutely delicious! The salsa was some of the best we've ever had! The service was sub-par to say the least. Not one of the three hostesses had a smile on their face and looked like we were somehow bothering them by coming in. Our waitress barely acknowledged our existence and seemed like she was pretty unhappy with her job. There were very few people in the restaurant so it was odd. Anyway, I had the combo platter and my wife had the taco salad. We had the queso/guacamole dip which was really good, but it was luke warm when it got to our table. It would have been way better if it was served hot. The creamy jalapeño dressing on the taco salad was delicious and all the ingredients were really fresh! Had the service been as good as the food, this would have been a 4-5 star review. Hopefully next time we will have a better experience! read more

Boom-Boom Sauce FTW! Went here for the first time this past Sunday and I'm already looking forward to being back in Orlando to visit again. Let me begin by saying that this is Tex-Mex food, not Mexican. If you're looking for authentic Mexican you may be disappointed but that's not Chuy's fault. First thing I noticed is that the staff is super friendly and attentive, they will make you feel like you matter as a guest. Fresh chips and yummy salsa came to our table right away and were refilled when needed, as were the beverages. The special of the day was the Macho Burrito, I had it with a side of refried beans and the Boom-Boom sauce on top; it was DELISH! The pork was quite tender and had good flavor on its own, I definitely recommend it. My boyfriend had the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo and it was very tasty, although we did not like the beef that much and would opt for a different dish next time. We were given a side of the creamy jalapeño sauce and it went well with everything. My only complaint would be that none of the sauces are spicy enough for me, but at least I can ask for as side of jalapeños. Oh, and the portions are HUGE! read more

We are from Southeast Georgia. We do not have Mexican food like this. It is definitely different and worth it. Best Tex-mex we have ever tried. We are a family of 7 and they definitely treat you with good ole Southern hospitality(which is hard to find in this area). read more

Three hours for food!!!! The service was horrible and it took 3 hours for our food to come and even when it did come they gave us the wrong food and it took another 15 minutes to get our food. After a long day walking in the amusement parks my family and I was so happy to find this place. Solid Mexican had the Chicken enchilada Monday night special with avocado and it was top 3 I've ever had. Fernando provided great service. Not sure I loved the decor but quirky for sure. Nachos and salsa along with a great creamy Jalapeño dip were a great (complimentary) starter. Recommend and no surprises when the bill came. The device was excellent and the food was good, I ordered the deluxe quesadilla, no pepper no onion, but I got peppers and onions anyway I brought this up to our sever and he quickly fixed it. Been there twice and I can tell you that their food is alright. My favorite food is mexican and I have had my share from home cooked to excellent restaurants. The best thing about Chuy's is their chips & variety of sauces, they also had a decent margarita. Other than that they fell short in my book. I'll go back to sit in for happy hour which is good. The staff was great and helpful when they could, but on both visits they were a little unfamiliar with the menu and of course suggested the most expensive dish on the menu. The chipotle sauce is very smoky which leaves me wondering how much liquid smoke they add to the sauce. Nothing tastes authentically Mexican. Its fun and pretty to look at but leaves you craving authentic Tex Mex or Mexican. read more
