We are at Chuys today. My daughter loves to eat here and always orders the Tortilla soup. Today the soup had huge pieces of veggies and they were not fully cooked. There was only one bite of avocado in the large bowl and she ended up choking on a small chicken bone. We sent it back to the kitchen but we were still charged for it. Had a late lunch with a friend, we had the pleasure of being seated in Cody's section. We were greeted immediately with chips, salsa, and water by him. He had a pretty large section to wait on but did not skip a beat at any table including ours. His customer service was hands down stream lined at its finest. Not only was our food great but the service in general was the best. I recommend anyone who goes to the one in MidTown to ask for him. He is truly the poster child of what a good server. This is my second time to Chuy's restaurant and we came back since the food was so good the first time. We got seated on the patio for a group of 9 quickly and our server was very friendly and was quick with our drinks and food orders. The queso and chips was great and was a large portion and the food is definitely big enough to split, or she told us you can get a half portion of almost any item on the menu. My only issue with this place this time, was that the bathroom floor was covered in water, with one wet floor sign, but nobody had mopped it up. When I told the hostess, she said "yea, I think the toilet overflowed" and I asked if they had a mop to mop it up and she said she would ask someone. When I went to use the restroom before we left, 45 mins later, the floors were still flooded with water. I stopped a different hostess or server on my way out to let them know, so hopefully it got cleaned up. read more

Occassionally my girlfriend likes fake Tex-Mex and queso dip so I couldn't think of a better place than here when the craving struck her. The queso dip is what she was expecting so it hit the sport for her-with just the right texture without it being too thick. The 'Mexi-cobb'salad was all right for her, too much cheese for her which is something that I thought was impossible. I got the 'Macho burrito' which is their special for Saturday/Sunday and it was a pretty good burrito-with the pork being kind of on the blander side but it made up for it in size so you got a decent mix. Our server though was a little on the inattentive side, we had to flag her down a few times to get more chips and salsa but when she did come to check on us she was quick to come back. Me and my husband came here after a long day of touring the city since it was so close to our hotel. I am blown away by the great food and amazing customer service! Caitlyn was our waitress, she did a great job getting us everything we needed. Recommended the white peach sangria, got it large and boy was that thing tasty. For dinner I had the chicka boom boom with spicy boom boom sauce. Overall a great experience! We will be coming back if we are ever in town again. read more

Biggest restaurant pet peeve: when the waiter takes away your plate before half the food is gone and doesn't even offer you a box. Food was mediocre and vegetarian options were disappointing. Love their salsa (spicy) and creamy jalapeno dip with warm fresh chips. I have had their veggie enchilada and chile releno and both have been good. I love their Boom Boom sauce and always ask for it on my dish and it brings the flavor to another level!! Sometimes there is a wait but the service is fast. I come to Tennessee often and I stay at home 2 suites. And this is my go to spot. There food is always fresh and I have yet to have bad service at this location. They give a hefty 50 percent off for military members so I was very happy about that discount. My mom came with me on this trip and she ordered steak fajita and I ordered my usual taco steak salad which I love. This visit was a Monday evening around 6pm. I was warmly greeted and quickly seated. It wasn't too busy, but as I ate, a steady stream of parties flowed in. To start, you get a basket of thin, crispy corn chips and two types of sauce, a garlic ranch and a tomato picante. I love their tomato picante sauce, which seems fresh-made - it's full of flavor and leaves a fresh taste and goes great with the thin chips. I ordered the Veggie enchiladas, minus cheese, with beans, rice and guacamole. It arrived quickly and was full of flavor. The food is good, but not remarkable, not like a gourmet or high end place, which shouldn't be expected here. The steak tacos were alright nothing special and the soft tortillas were cold and filled with onions and bell peppers. I could've gone without the onions, but the steak was good. The soup was pretty good I liked the pulled chicken in the soup. I wasn't a fan of the salsa at all it was homemade but had too much lemon juice in it and not enough tomatoes. I would say the food is average. If you're used to eating good seasoned authentic Mexican food then you will be disappointed by this place. I honestly usually enjoy a good Chuy's meal but this one was rather disappointing. First off our waitress, Kylie, was rather rude and un-accommodating. I accidentally misspoke when I ordered and she was met with aggression. A common saying is "the customer is always right", but in this situation Kylie decided that she was right. If I could give Chuy's a 3.5 I would but it wasn't a 4. The salsa and chips were delicious I could not stop eating them. The salsa had a great spice to it and taste. We also got a side of the jalapeño sauce to dip the chips in which was yummy too. I got the Baja shrimp tacos and they were decent. The crisp of the fried shrimp was good but the shrimp itself had a salty taste at the end and I am someone who loves salt and it wasn't a great taste. I also think with the tacos they should provide a sauce or sour creme for the tacos but that is just my preference as I used the jalapeño sauce anyways. The platter came with rice and beans and as I've bit in to the rice and beans apparently they garnish this dish with jalapeños which is not disclosed in the menu. The service is always awesome at the Opry Mills location. The food is not the same anymore sense The pandemic. The menu has gotten much smaller not as many choices. The food is not as good as it once was. I have been three times, hoping that things would go back the way they were. I guess that's not going to happen. At one time they had a hopping business. My initial judgement from the looks of this place was "this place is hooky" but they have chili Relleno the menu and that's one of my husbands favorite. We sat at a hightop table in the bar, it was lunchtime and the place was hopping. We were immediately served a big basket of warm,thin, crispy chips and delicious spicy salsa. The salsa seem to home made and had just the right amount of heat. I had a house margarita, which tasted freshly made not a mix. Then my husband and I had A chili Relleno each. Each came with a dish of sauce mine was mild my husbands with spicy both were delicious. I was truly surprised at how good the food that we had was. The place was crowded and did a great business so they must be doing something right. My husband did order a beer that never made it to the table. It's cute the way it's decorated and there's a lady in glass enclosure making fresh tortillas. The chips are good. Very thin and crispy. The only other thing that was good was the spicy beans. The salsa lacked flavor as did the salad dressing. I ordered online tonight and went to pick up curbside. Unfortunately, the order wasn't all there when I got home. A major component (the beef) of my taco kit was missing. I called and spoke to the manager who was incredibly nice and offered (and then followed through) on having another manager deliver the missing items to my house. He offered to remake the entire meal, but I could not justify that, so I just had them do the missing bits. And I live 15-20 minutes away!!!! I normally am against eating at chain restaurants, but when you are craving Mexican, you have to do what you have to do. My friend suggested this for dinner one night, and I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed our visit. The wait staff was friendly and very attentive, constantly refreshing chips and salsa. He took our drink order and quickly returned with it as well as chips and house salsa. He then explained a few things about the menu, took our order and just as with our drinks, returned with our appetizers scary fast. Ask for Jordan as your server. We ordered the queso and guacamole. The guac was fresh and had a great flavor. The avocados were perfectly ripe. The queso was perfect. Jordan also brought out a side of the Hatch green chile salsa which was also amazing.
