    Beef Fajita Tacos
    Candace W.

Came here recently with a friend and had an okay experience. On the bright side, our server was very kind and funny and we also received our food very quickly. Also, the restaurant has a bright, fun look inside. However, the food was meh. I got a taco salad which was fine. The meat could've been seasoned more and I would've like more guacamole on the bowl. I didn't like the queso. My friend got beef fajita tacos and there wasn't much meat in the tacos. Portion sizes were pretty decent though. Prices are a little steep for the food you get in my opinion. Overall: would prefer to try a different Mexican restaurant in the area that's more affordable or with better food than return, but service was great and obviously so is location.

The service was perfect, the environment was vibrant and calm, and the food tasted great. We ordered crispy taco and burrito. Size of each meal was large and it was enough for 3. I loved the burrito even though I am a fan of tacos

Great food! We were able to walk from our hotel. We ate on the patio since we had our dog. Yes dog friendly. Several employees walked out to say hey to the dog. The patio is great if you like to people watch. Our server was very polite and friendly. The food came out quickly. Love all the sauces.

Service here was so great. Ray took amazing care of us and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. The food was good. Portions could have been a little larger but maybe that's my bias from other Mexican restaurants I frequent. Chips were great as was the margarita. Ambiance and vibe were eclectic and fun. Definitely worth a stop in.

chuys was right next to our hotel so it was a convenient stop. i know i can always find a vegan option at a mexican style restaurant. I ordered the veggie enchiladas without cheese. the beans and rice were pretty dry and the enchiladas were just okay. the chips and salsa were good and the service was good as well but there are much better food options in the area.

Chuy's is always a great time for quick food and good prices. I think one of their best parts is the free chips and salsa and the creamy jalapeño dip that they offer as starters. I got the Chuychanga with chicken as the filling and it was decent with rice and beans. I chose the chika chika boom boom sauce which was a spicy kick. Nicely fried and it was meaty. For drinks, I got the blackberry frozen margarita and the strawberry margarita on the rocks. Good prices, but way too sweet. For large parties, you can't make reservations or call ahead even if you're 10 mins away. However, they did seat us pretty quickly.

I dont know what Elvis Presley has to do with Mexican food, but it was actually very good. The ground beef enchilada was amazing. Beans were very solid too. Service was very hospitable and friendly. Southern charm for sure. We were in and out due to time.

Went to Chuy's last night for an impromptu dinner date (just note this is more of a restaurant for groups of rowdy college students than a dinner date spot). Service was good and speedy and food was decent. I wasn't as impressed by the chicka-chicka boom-boom enchilada as I usually am. It was like -fine- but nothing special. The sauce had a glazed look I didn't love and I really wish they had mole sauce here, but alas. The meat for the fajitas was actually very tasty and cooked well. This serving (for 1) was huge! The refried beans were also good, but the tortillas were really weird was not a fan. We also got a frozen mango marg and a lime and strawberry swirl marg and gotta say wasn't a huge fan. My swirl marg was primarily strawberry, and we didn't finish them because they were soooo sweet and tasted more like a slushy than an alcoholic drink (and no this is not my first time having a frozen margarita). I would go again with a group of friends for the fun and cute aesthetic, but not exactly for the culinary experience.

I've been eating at Chuy's for 10+ years. It's one of my favorite Mexican chains. Food is always consistently good. And atmosphere is fun.

The short rib taco was definitely one of my favorites, and the overall quality of the food really stood out. We also enjoyed the chips and queso, which made for a great starter. The margaritas were another highlight. They were fresh, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the tacos. Bakersfield also has an impressive selection of tequila and American whiskey, so there's definitely no shortage of drink options. The service was excellent as well. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. Even though the restaurant has a busy, lively atmosphere, everything felt well organized and we never felt rushed. I really liked the overall atmosphere here. It's upbeat, casual, and a great place to grab a meal before heading out around downtown Nashville. You can tell this is a place that's meant to be fun while still taking the food seriously. If you're visiting Nashville and looking for great tacos, good drinks, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend Bakersfield. It's an easy 5-star experience for me, and I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in Nashville!

I remember the fanfare when it opened: the vibe, the neighborhood, the building. People were excited and those who are all in on Tex-Mex couldn't have been happier. I made a note to check it out but life lifed and I never made my way over. Fast forward (or, flashback) to early summer and I freed up for lunch. I was going to make the RS thing happen. Driving over, I was in a good mood. I really enjoy McFerrin Park and the block the restaurant is on (well, pretty much everything around it) has changed so much to almost be unrecognizable (iykyk). I parked, walked inside and... nothing. I wasn't welcomed, greeted or acknowledged. Not a great start but I was committed to this experience. No sooner did I re-commit than a regular walked in, walked in front of me (as I waited to order), chummed it up with the person behind the counter, and ordered. Not good. I probably should have left but... I didn't. I finally was acknowledged and was able to order. My long wait let me decide on what I wanted. I ordered heavy but at the time I was only eating once a day and I hadn't eaten in over 24 hours. I was hungry but my eyes were pretty big, too. I waited an appropriate amount of time, grabbed my food from behind where I posted up and left to drive home. Admittedly the food smelled great and as I prepared to eat, it looked great, too. I started with the OG (whipped feta crunchwrap with Fritos, pico, refried beans, hot sauce, and red beef chili; interesting but not my favorite) then moved on to the bacon taco (bacon, cheddar, eggs, and tots; yes, please) rounded the bases with the green chile crunchwrap (pork, queso, jack cheese, refried beans, hot sauce, and Fritos; my pick of my order), and topped off the meal with spiced tots. Full, I was pleased with my picks but in no hurry to rush back. I was sick that evening and for 3 days after. Maybe I ate too much (but I have pigged out early and often in my life; especially when I was paid to eat) but I don't think so. I was out of commission for 2 days of the 3. I experienced major gastro issues and obvious physical changes to my appearance. It got to the point of worry and contacting a medical provider. I was warned by the universe before the first bite hit my belly. I should have paid attention. I should have come years before.

This place came recommended from a friend and it seemed exciting to go to the restaurant of a singer! It is right in the heart of the downtown bar area. We had a very large group of people on a Saturday night. We had a bit of a wait as they do not take reservations. They seated us upstairs all together sort of at a row of tables separate but all on a row which worked out ok. We were there to celebrate a 21st birthday. They did say Happy Birthday but nothing special beyond that was given or provided which was a little disappointing but I think everyone in Nashville is celebrating something so I get it. Service was very good. Chips with salsa and guacamole was provided upon seating for everyone. When requested more was provided. We had one person who was Gluten Free and they appeared to take care in explaining options as well as answering any questions people had. Drinks were refilled and kept flowing (alcoholic ones). And for a busy Saturday night meals came out in a good timing. Everyone enjoyed their meal although one person had bitten into something hot and did not like it and they were happy to replace the meal. The meal that I had was fantastic! The steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and extremely flavorful. Honestly I had been a bit hesitant to order steak due to being very picky over steak quality. But I was very happy with it! Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and at the end of the meal the server actually was ok with splitting up the ticket even tho we were a very large group which many many establishments refuse to do so this made me very pleased! Oh they had a live band playing on the first floor which was nice. There is an elevator at the back of the restaurant which is nice for those unable or just not wanting to climb a flight of stairs . The flower wall with the Nashville name on it made such a great backdrop for photos! They had two unisex bathrooms on the first floor. I would definitely recommend and go back to this place!
