Always loved the food and service was always excellent. I bragged about it to friends and recommended regularly, the Chuy's on Hwy 59 in Humble, TX. But last night I took my niece there for her first experience and the waiter suggested Watermelon Margaritas. My niece had left her purse in the car so we opted for tea. Server asked us how old she was and told us ID was no problem. I drink water with my meal and enjoy my alcohol after. I had already paid and tipped ten bucks on a $37.00 ticket when I sat back to enjoy my drink. There was zero alcohol in the margaritas. Zero. None. Zip. Nada. I paid 15 bucks for two slurpees. I'll continue to go there. I will never pay before I'm completely finished with my meal. And I will never allow Marcos to wait on me again. read more

We went Wednesday night about 7 pm. So, it wasn't too busy, but when we arrived we were told it'd be 10 minutes. I counted the amount of empty tables at 18! I have a family of 5, so seat us at 4 and bring a high chair. Instead the girl played at the hostess stand on her phone and was either high or didn't want to be there, not sure which. Best experience at a restaurant lately!! Tried going to another restaurant close by and wait was 45 minutes so decided to eat here. We were told wait would be 10-15 minutes but I didn't even get into car to wait and was texted our table was ready. Our waitress was awesome and super friendly!! Even though this is a large chain restaurant they have very good food, service and prices. The decor is also bright and well done and creates a nice atmosphere. Nothing can make or break a restaurant experience like the service you receive. And the service we received was exceptional. The server seemed to genuinely like her job and, even though they were very busy, was very attentive and had a great attitude. And to top it off their Bloody Marys are very very good. Start at the free chips and salsa? Ok, I'll start there. They have free chips and salsa that you can actually get yourself, from a cute chips and salsa stand (looked like the back of an old Chevy i think? I'm not sure because it was crowded), while you wait for a table. It was crowded when we went. The free chips and salsa helped that time go by faster. The salsa is good. It's hot tho, so have your water ready. The chips are pretty light and good as well. Not too salty either. Food: We ordered some platters of stuff. LOL. Mine was the Elvis platter and came with three different types of enchiladas, a taco, two queso dipped chips and the rice/refried beans/jalapenos on the side. All.Good.For.My.Belly. I ate until I got confused on how to chew. We also ordered the jalapeno ranch dip or whatever in the world that concoction was and although I expected it to arrive warm (it was fridge cold), it was GREAT. I mean GREAT. If you mix it with the salsa, you might be full by the time your meal arrives. My enchiladas were pretty good. Well, two of them were. One was some type of chicken Verde and I could have done without it to be honest. Something about the tortilla wasn't to my liking and I'm not a fan of Verde sauce, but the taco was stuffed full of beef and it was really good and so were the other two enchiladas. My partner ordered a chimichanga that was the size of his plate. I believe he was quite satisfied as well. I took a sample of his and thought it was good but not as great as my food. We had enough to take home and it heated up pretty well. Decor: It's pretty busy. The place seems huge although I'm not sure how big it was. We went off to the side to be seated in what looked like an old diner area. There are all types of Chevy hubcaps on the ceiling and plenty of people, conversations and plates being attended to. Service: Our waitress was friendly. She kept us refilled, brought our food out quickly and informed us that it would be on the way soon so as not to keep passing by us and not checking on us. I have no complaints. I will definitely go back. From what I could tell, it's pretty wheelchair friendly, but you probably don't want to go to the right side area where we were. It's pretty tight over there but once some of the people cleared out, it wasn't really bad at all. I wish they had one closer in the city, but it was worth the drive we made to get there. read more

I want to like Chuy's. But the quality of the food is just not worth the price. We ordered Queso, a Mexican Cobb salad, and ground beef tacos (2 in the order with a side of rice and beans). Our order total was ~$35. The food tasted like every other place. My salad was sad. The chicken seemed to be the parts of the chicken that you cut off before you cook it. It was tough and full of cartilage. The tacos were just normal, like you would get at Taco Bell. The reason why they are getting two stars is their curbside service took less than 10 min from order to pick up and their creamy jalapeño is amazing. Since my negative review of Chuy's i have done an about face!!!! Super service from everyone last time I was there 3 Fridays ago. From the bartenders, hosts, servers, and the manager. It was super busy and he still took the time to chat with my adult son and I in the bar. such a nice guy! The chips are the highlight of Chuy's! They are light, airy and never overcooked. The salsa and ranch dip for them are what my son and I love. my only wish would for Chuy's to change up the queso that is yellow to a more authentic queso blanco with the same delectable goodies inside. My son is a pescetarian, so being assured the bean s had no animal fat in them was very important. I now order the same thing every single time. The Elvis Presley chicken dinner! Wow! My husband and I decided to have lunch at Chuy's after driving by during our many trips to Hamilton Town Crossing. We went in not really knowing what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. The decor is very kitschy- bright colors, authentic-looking Mexican tile everywhere, and funny portraits of Elvis, dogs, Nixon, etc. We were seated right away and were immediately given our menus when we arrived to 50's style table. The server was very friendly and brought us the AMAZING Jalapeño Ranch Dip (I craved it for days after our visit!) and some chunky salsa. Enchiladas are my Mexican food go-to, so I decided to go with the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom Enchiladas- huge portion and SO very good! The enchiladas were stacked, almost like a lasagna which I thought was an interesting approach. The pulled chicken inside was moist and the green chili sauce was quite tasty. I got Mexican rice and refried beans- both were delicious! BTW- that Jalapeño Ranch Dip was so delicious on the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom's (I had to ask for extra for that very reason :) ) When the server came to ask how everything was I told how yummy the Dip was and she replied "I know!"- in a very Monica Gellar type of way. I look forward to trying Chuy's again. It's a very fun atmosphere, but it was a little loud in there. They do offer seating outside on their outdoor patio. The chile relleno was good except the threading on it was so stinkin thick. The chips and dips are good. Beans and rice are fine. I wanted a chimichanga with ground beef and it wasn't on the menu. Their chimichangas have chicken or steak in them I believe. I mentioned this to the waitress and she said that it was fine for me to get ground beef since they make them in house. Wow, I just did not get this joint. From the confusing decor--is it music themed? Tropical themed? There's something to do with fish?--to the blah menu. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Tex-Mex and Mexican food and I'm happy with simple dishes with great flavor. But this just didn't deliver. My enchilada was so dry I had to put the table's salsa on it. The green chili rice had weird components that were prickly. Yes, the rice was prickly. Never thought I'd use that phrase in a Yelp review. Really decent first impression. We came here on a Saturday evening while in the area to meet friends at the nearby theater. I also had a coupon for free queso from a prior Yelp event so I was excited to check the place out! It was quite busy but they told us we could check out the bar to see if there was seating so we found a table in the area. Service was pretty good based on how busy I could tell she was. We really enjoyed the queso and chips so that kept us entertained while we waited for our entrees. We both got burritos, different types, I can't remember exactly what mine was but it was chicken with a green sauce and delicious. My husband like his too. They were also big, and with all the chips I ate, I ended up bringing half home. It made a good leftover lunch! One thing I love about the bar is all the pictures of dogs, adorable touch! This place had been seriously hyped by my coworker for weeks. It took us 45+ minutes to get there during rush hour and there was another 30+ minute wait when we arrived. This was on a Tuesday or Wednesday. It was worth the driving and the wait. Weeknights from 4-7 there is a free nacho bar: chips, salsa, queso, taco meat, and the best refried beans you'll eat in your life. I've been trying to find excuses to come back just so I can load up on the nacho bar. Our food was served quickly, especially since we were distracted by the glorious nacho bar. I had the Tex Mex enchiladas which were cheese and onion. They were so good! I was kind of sad I filled up on chips but that meant I got to have my leftovers the next day. The prices were decent. I think with tax and tip my total was around $11 or $12. The atmosphere and bright and fun. Lots of energy and lots of movement. People going to the nacho bar, people going to see the tortillas being made in house. And just lots and lots of people in general. I've been avoiding writing this review because I knew it would have me craving more Chuy's and I was right, it has. Every time that I've eaten here with my family, it's been a good experience! I would have made it slightly larger so that the tables didn't feel so cramped together and the guacamole appetizer is overpriced at $8, but otherwise, we've always had a good time here. The food and service was wonderful. We went for an early dinner around 4pm. They seemed to want to put everyone in the same room or section. Bad for us we got sat next to a family of children and one was crying and screaming the whole time. Not a pleasant experience. I wish there was a family section and a quiet section. This was not a baby. This child was 2-3 years old. My chili was great as always. Hubby had the chipotle enchiladas. And they know how to make rice with flavor. At the 20+ minute mark I was thankful for the nacho bar so I could get my own. Had to skip everything else that should be on the nacho bar as it was empty. Great addition to this part of town! We had a large party (14 and two babies) and they got us in within 40 minutes of arriving on a very busy night. They offer the chips and salsa while waiting which is nice. So the wait didn't seem as long. I got the combo 5 with the enchilada and a chalupa and it was delicious. One of my favorite sauces in a restaurant is at chuys! The jalapeño Ranch dipping sauce for the chips. And the chips - so fresh, and crispy. Big fan of chuys. Since you can't seem to get in, my husband and I decided to order carry out a few weekends ago. We called in our order and were given a 20 minute wait time. We pulled in and they were swamped. After getting through all of the people waiting outside, we walked in and were immediately confused. The decor is a little crazy and I felt myself trying to look everywhere and at everything. We went up to the hostess stand and said we were there for a carry out order. The first girl we spoke to told another girl who then proceeded to pass the buck to someone else but then one of the male employees overheard and said he was going to get our order. I wasn't aware it took that many people to get an order. I had ordered the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and it was good but I wasn't overly impressed. My husband ordered a bean and cheese burrito. He was offered a choice of sauce and didn't really like what he chose. Perhaps we missed it on the menu but we didn't see the list of sauces nor a description so when asked, he just picked one. The person that took our order tried to explain them over the phone but as she was rattling off 5 or 6 sauces with a busy restaurant in the back ground so it was hard to get a good idea of the differences. I had a place near St. Louis where I would drive like 45 minutes to get to because I loved their nachos SO much (Seven Lounge... I am looking at you). I have been hunting for nachos in Indianapolis that are equally good. So far I have been unsuccessful, but Chuy's has been the closest. Not in execution (much different components), but in tastiness. The Nachos are four stars. Would be five if I wasn't so in love with those from Seven. The burrito was probably 4.5 stars. The chips and salsa though? Mediocre at best. Where most sit down type restaurants are quiet weekdays, Chuys often has a lively lunchtime crowd (as well as all evenings). Service is always prompt, courteous, and efficient.
